1 of 3: The ‘Endgame’ gets ramped up another level

A fast fortnight ploughed a deep furrow along a cycle of time – ‘a wheel within the greater wheel’ of End-time events…

Bells start ringing that we’ve been here before – and at this time of year too! – like fresh, bright-yellow daffodil bells I see springing up outside!  Let me to add to what others are doing as ‘prep’ for 2015…

Spiral stairway to cloudsTime is non-linear.  Our analytical mindsets think time’s a straight line. Often we see time-lines listing events in history – or use one for our own life.

The passage of time and events is seasonal; ie. cyclical. I regard time like a spiral for, when considered dynamically under the interaction of various influences, it’s just like a corkscrew being turned. Nature provides an excellent example that carries information – the DNA spiral.

Spiral stairs franky242Another example: on a spiral staircase we pass by different walls. If it’s in a castle turret there’d be a doorway on each floor and in the same vertical wall of the well. Regard this wall as a certain kind of event and note how it connects with us, or is relevant to us, at different times and levels.

Hence, various types of event can crop up in a cyclical pattern of repetitions at different levels and show some development has taken place. So it is in history and with God’s plans too, could we but be aware, or receive revelation.

Before I heard about Jonathan Cahn’s US best-seller The Harbinger, I’d outlined the Biblical analysis of historical and financial cycles in one of my first months’ blogs,  Points to Ponder 2011-2012. (For more see below.)

Quick recap

Last week I promised to reveal how a possible option between either one of two weeks for surgery affected, or even enabled(!), further insights into something we’d recently mulled over on this blog – Satan’s strategy to avoid the Lake of Fire.

Please accept my apologies for not having done so in ‘the next post’. So much was still surfacing – from both the past and the present – that I had to take stock.  To my great surprise a cycle of events was laid bare.

Blog JigsawOnce again, more of the ‘Invisible Jigsaw’ is appearing, as blogged extensively in 2014  (click image to read about its themes).

So, I’ll explain this year’s view of ‘the grand design’ for you to follow my logic. Let’s look at the jigsaw pieces we’ve placed down thus far.

I mused upon how Satan could have adopted tactics to avoid his destined demise in the Lake of Fire and a progression of ‘pieces’ was revealed as follows:

  1. Paws 4 thought: devilish plot to avoid the Lake of Fire – the removal of conditions necessary for Jesus’ prophesied return: no Jews alive in Jerusalem and Mid-East and disunity among Christians, plus not living in Holy Spirit’s power and a deep   rejection of Jews and Israel on supposedly ‘scriptural’ grounds!
  2. An insight into global Satanic strategy: Part 1 – misinformation from many political leaders. ‘Coincidently’, Archbishop Welby denounced anti-Semitism and had its most vociferous vicar silenced.
  3. An insight into global Satanic strategy: Part 2 – history of Islam from start up to the Crusades and exposure of the myth they taught Muslims to hate and attack Christians. It originated in Western intellectuals, whose fallacies within academia continue unabated!
  4. Anti-terrorism summit confirms this week’s insight – Within a day of blogging as above, international news on security confirmed my conclusions. But technical hitches hindered my publishing this, which revealed I faced ungodly opposition!

History cycles around

On top of those concepts, accelerating developments in the Middle-East only add to the mix. Therefore, an appreciation of my background in this will be of some help.

Pertinent to today’s issues is a personal event that hooked me into Eschatology, as well as subsequent developments, viz:

Mid-1980s

Invisible HandAs stated in this blog’s Welcome, the Iran-Iraq war opened my eyes as an unbeliever because I’d been given an unusual ‘secular’ book on OT prophecies of modern events. Whilst watching a TV documentary about that war I flicked through the brand-new book and noted references to the significance of Jerusalem.  THEN I heard the TV narrator speak about, and showed, elite units from both sides rehearsing together an attack upon Jerusalem! – despite being at war with one another!! So I’ve since kept an eye on international affairs.

Once again, conflict in Iraq involving Iran is in the news because of ISIS’ invasion of Iraq in 2014.

2009

Six years ago last weekend, on 28th February 2009, I started what would become a series of private emails to Christian friends and church leaders drawing attention to the plain fact that events are fitting more clearly into Biblical prophecy.

We’d already debated the Lakeland, Florida, outpouring as I’d known of Todd Bentley before-hand. However, the new direction had become abundantly obvious and so I emailed them, The ‘Endgame’ is now in play.

It was only much later, in Autumn 2011, that the Lord prodded me into going public with this blog. (If you’re interested in numbers; the 700th post is one the above ‘insights’.)

As said, significant End-time events began to escalate. To appreciate how they’ve again become ‘hot potatoes’ you may like to dip into later emails of May and July 2009 noting especially as below:

  • Today’s Importance In History – reference to Obama’s ‘back channels’ (secret diplomacy) contact with and appeasement of Iran, and consequential dismay in Egypt and Saudi Arabia – and their cooperation with Israel.
  • Middle-East Update July 2009 – Obama’s making Netanyahu the bogeyman in preventing nuclear-arms discussions with Iran. Obama’s character.

2010

An entirely forgotten idea privately posited with those friends popped up again unbidden in the last fortnight. Part 2 will show how the shuffled surgical schedule reported in The Shepherd, the Shadow and the ‘Spread’ fits into our ‘jigsaw’.

I hope you’ll have time to dip into those archived papers whenever possible.

The Shepherd, the Shadow and the ‘Spread’

Psalm23 table“The Lord is our shepherd…” asserted the psalmist David; and his descendant Jesus of Nazareth, who came as the Messiah, God’s anointed leader whom Israel long awaited, described himself as “The Good Shepherd”.

Even when we go through the dire depths of the Valley of the Shadow to struggle with sickness, loss of well-being and even of life itself, the Good Shepherd’s ‘rod and staff’ guide, encourage and ensure we keep on the right track, albeit hidden and thus raising thoughts that maybe we’ve gone astray. So, the Lord definitely does comfort us.

And beyond that dark vale He opens the veil to bring about our personal good – because we love Him and are called according to His purposes. There, He spreads a banqueting table before us – and not only for us to be blessed at His celebratory, festive spread but also for our personal earthly and spiritual opposition, the hosts of wickedness, to see and witness our reward and blessing at His hands!

For the last five months we’ve been through a deepening trial over Nina’s health, which came to a climax six weeks ago in severely painful and crippling loss of mobility. Hence my personal note of mid-January.

The faithful intercessory support of dozens of brothers and sisters in the Lord were a strong and sure support. Answers to our prayers started manifesting this week with the successful outcome of precision, albeit very dicey, non-invasive surgical procedure on her damaged spine. Thank and praise you Lord.

The scheduling of this surgery brought an unusual, coincidental effect upon this blog. The operation would have been performed last week had it not been for the half-term holidays. That is, a full surgical team wasn’t available because some staff needed to be absent for their school children.

Therefore, it enabled me to be on-hand to watch a situation develop. It would have been missed had the surgery been performed a week earlier!

All will be revealed next week…

Meanwhile, be blessed by reading Carol Good’s meditative blog on The 23rd Psalm, and to whom this post’s illustration is accredited.

Incredible timing of ‘unsealing’ and ‘keys’ re. Daniel’s visions

Extraordinary!

“By the mouth of two or three witnesses the matter shall be established”.  (Deut 19:15 NKJV)

This must rank as one of the most amazing examples of ‘God-incidence’ I’ve ever come across. And it’s Invisible Jigsaw and Bridge over the ‘Pond’ tags all rolled into one! (Not to mention anything to do with ‘Time’, as blogged a year ago.)

Just in case readers didn’t notice a brief but significant contribution to the last post, On unsealing Daniel’s prophetic visions, I’m repeating it below. Also, a huge “Thank you” to all who liked that post. My post was published on Saturday morning (31 Jan 2015). Tony Puccio commented later in the day: “It’s amazing you post this Richard. Look at the vision the Lord showed me.”…. Continue reading

What is “New Age?”

This overview by Jordan Gresczyk has my full endorsement and his brief comparison of New Age and Biblical terminology is very helpful. Also, he refers to concepts I mention occasionally, but about which some may have reservations. My previous involvement in that realm and subsequent rescue by the Lord into His Kingdom, as told herein, enables me to be keenly aware of the differences between true Christian faith and deception.

As He Is So Are We's avatarAs He is...so are we

newage

First off I am not an expert in this so this is not exhaustive but what I purely observe. Is there is anything more prevalent these days than the “New Age?” It is also one of the most generalized terms these days as well. I’ve even been accused of being “New Age” and I am totally opposed to it. Really there is nothing “new” about it but has been around since the fall in the Garden in Eden. Genesis 3:5 starts it off

For God knows that in the day you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.

We see it in the tower of Babel people were in one accord to build a tower to reach heaven. We see in ancient Egypt and all other pagan nations in the Old Testament time. New age boils down to this:…

A personal note

RJBAn unscheduled change in circumstances means I need to take a different tack to blogging. Hopefully, this may not be for too long.

So, instead of my usual regular postings I will continue re-blogging others’ works that have a similar viewpoint to this blog, along with my occasional comments upon events/topics with links to sources for fuller reading.

May the Lord bless and keep you…

A most blessed Christmas to every living soul

Christmas cardHave a ‘Mega-merry’ Christmas, as may be inferred from the OT Hebrew word ashar (Strong’s #833, as in Proverbs 31:28 on the virtuous wife), meaning

‘happy, blessed, prosperous, successful, from original root ‘be straight, upright’.’

Better still is New Testament Greek’s makarios (Strong’s #3107), which means

‘from root mak, indicating large, or of long durationhappy, supremely blessed, a condition in which congratulations are in order. It is a grace word that expresses the special joys and satisfaction granted the person who experiences salvation.’

This ‘Blessed’ is used in The Beatitudes, or the Sermon on the Mount, as recorded in Matthew 5. (From NKJV New Spirit-Filled Life Bible, Exec ed. Dr Jack Hayford)

May it be an especially blessed night of spiritual silence and insight for everyone.

The Austrian carol Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht is one of my old favourites. First played on this day in 1818 near Salzburg, my father heard it during his long stay in Stalag IIIA. (He liked the look of Austria as seen whilst being conveyed en-route as a captive from the Battle for Crete in 1941. So we holidayed in the Tyrol in 1950-60s.)

This Celtic version with superb voice and violin is sublime…

Holy lightning beyond ‘The Pond’ strikes in the UK!

_ed

Sea by Salvatore Vuono, courtesy of Freedigitalphotos.net

The ‘bolt’ struck in our lounge Sunday afternoon before last and hit my wife!  Not real atmospheric lightning but, nonetheless, the effects are electrical. It’s happened not a few times whilst live streaming to a morning’s service in Alabama. (It was 7th December 2014.)

Nina’s face contorted and emitted an indistinct sound as she squirmed in her seat. Eyes staring wide, eyebrows mid-forehead, electricity pulsed up and down from head to toe and back. It was caused by what was going on a quarter the way around the world southwest from us – on the Gulf of Mexico’s north coast!

Lindell_CooleyIt was the final night of Dedication Weekend for Church of His Presence moving into a brand new building by Daphne, Alabama. Reinhard Bonnke had opened the first night with being interviewed by pastor Kirkpatrick on how he was led into his evangelistic outreach (over 73 million souls saved) by Holy Spirit’s power healing the totally blind – incredible!

Eighteen minutes into Sunday’s worship Lindell Cooley burst into a song new to us, but which became popular when he led praise at the Brownsville Revival,

He has fire in His eyes,

A sword in His hand,

(And He’s still riding a white horse –

Fifteen years later He’s still going across this land).

There’s fire in His eyes,

A sword in His hand,

He’s riding a white horse across this land.

He’s calling out to you and me,

“Will you ride with Me?”

Fiery Eye (R)Fiery Eye (L)At this, Nina started to burn – and continued burning! Join in at 18:30 on this video link. At 1hr59 Lindell tells of the glory of God coming upon that song. Five minutes later he speaks and declares under a strong unction the importance of Ephesians 3:10 for the Church moving into the new season:

10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places,

Alternatively, hear Lindell as a younger psalmist here:

Or play his fiery version with Band of Brothers Bootcamp’s movie clip!

Maybe you question Nina’s reaction? Let me explain. Since being born-again 25 years ago on 1st of this month, she’s been blessed with the Holy Spirit’s gift of discernment!  Thus, she’s able to tell instantly whether anywhere or anyone has an unclean spiritual influence. This gifting has proven very useful for prayer-ministry – and when visiting Toronto Airport Church, in view of claims that manifestations there were demonic and nothing to do with God.

Also, in Nina’s growing closer to the Lord and leading a Spirit-led life, this sensitivity to Holy Spirit’s prompting has only heightened, as demonstrated above.

Thus, when someone speaks or sings under Holy Spirit’s anointing then His presence within her reacts noticeably, as with this song. It is unmistakably clear acceptance and endorsement of the Godly nature of what’s conveyed. (This assists an understanding of the power of prophetic decrees – see Mentoring Day part 2: Britain at a cross-roads).

Worship under the stars with Lindell

cruise0129Silkily gliding under the stars in the cool of an early Caribbean evening, delegates with Toronto’s ‘Catch The Wave’ conference at sea headed to the ship’s swimming pool nestled below restaurants. But it was planked over – musical kit and our musician/vocalists Kelley Warren and Lindell Cooley were warming up!

2nd March 2006, an unforgettable evening worshiping God under the heavens as we sailed in the dark towards Cuba en-route from Jamaica to the Bahamas. My attempt at short video capture completely fails to do it justice, but the psalmist’s ‘King of Glory’ praise left an indelible mark in my soul.

It got fired up a couple of years later upon hearing Roy Fields play it in Florida and then here in England. Even now, the fire burns deeply whenever I hear King of Glory.

Your face outshines the brightest sun,

Jesus, You’re glorious, You are so glorious,

With eyes that blaze like burning fire,

Jesus, You’re glorious, You are so glorious.

King of Glory,

Have Your glory,

King of Glory,

Have Your glory,

King of Glory,

Have Your glory,

King of Glory,

Have Your glory...

Be blessed listening to it distraction-free with Jesus Culture…

NEWS! Ian Clayton’s FIRST book is out!

It was most instructive hearing Ian Clayton for the first time at one of our earliest days in Well Church International, near Goldalming. I kept pace with his novel teaching throughout and realised he’s correct when he used almost identical words that I’d had only weeks before on ‘God-incidents’!! (That is, they’re just like instruments playing in an orchestra – see The spiritual significance of the Queen’s Jubilee Bells.) Ian attributed Godly coincidences to the Lord’s Spirit of Wisdom (see next post). Be blessed as you read…

Lion Bites: Yield to His process

Lion-Bites-logo-2012It’s amazing how personally relevant daily encouragement from Glasgow Prophetic Centre has been recently. Today’s wasn’t read until after Nina wrote a short piece on listening to and following Holy Spirit’s directions – this prophetic word confirmed her message. It’s also appropriate for the finishing touches to the previous post on The image of Jesus.

.

YIELD TO HIS PROCESS

You are in a season where you are being re-sensitised to the Spirit of God in every area of your life. Often you have wondered what was happening, as the Holy Spirit has been re-sensitising you to Him in your thought processes, emotions and responses recently. The Lord is calling you to yield to this process. His heart and His plan for you is that you become sensitive and in tune with His voice and His promptings so that you would be a vessel for His glory wherever you are, always yielded to the leading of His Spirit even in all your thoughts, words and actions.

Romans 8:14
For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Blog’s 3rd Birthday – what did Jesus prophesy about WWI?

I invite readers familiar with 20th Century history and the Bible to search their brainy database and try this single-shot quiz:

Question: which military event during the First World War has a direct connection to one of the prophecies spoken by Jesus Christ?

Clue: Old Testament prophet Isaiah described an amazing facet of this historic event.

Limbering up to launch 3 years ago

RJBThe first three weeks of November 2011 were spent preparing to launch this blog. This was in response to the Lord’s nudging me to increase the readership of my emails on some of the Biblically relevant events in the Middle-East. It was daunting to move from a private circulation of several dozen church friends and out into the wider world. Who’d want to read my thoughts and opinions anyway?

A year later I was surprised to find the number of views was just under 10,000 and two more years later another ‘0’ had appeared at the end!  So thank you to you personally as you read, and for looking at other posts, and especially if you’re a subscriber. Thank you too my very dear Nina for your understanding and putting up with my disappearing into the study off and on over three days each week.

It’s fascinating how events have cycled around and thus returned my focus to similar issues as in November 2011: persecution by Islamists, Obama, Israel, apostasy and, in particular, a TV debate ‘Has the Church replaced Israel?’ with follow-up and summary. In connection with this matter I will briefly address the massive religious and historical illiteracy rampant in politicians, media and elsewhere (even in believers) next week – unless another ‘hot potato’ needs to be tossed over to you!

Thank you in particular for making such good use of the blog’s prophetical material. The most popular posts throughout the year have been words brought by Dr Sharon Stone for 2014-16, the photo of an angel attending Steve Hill’s funeral, Wendy Alec’s word on Obama, followed by the Library of Prophecies.

I’m especially pleased with the success of that collection in view of my personal effort, and because my intention is for it to be a useful resource to the body of Christ as well as public enquirers.

A personal thank you once again.

To God alone be the glory for this true story…

Join me as I meander along my musings and, as we wend our way, watch out for.:

  • a modern movie and its location
  • a medieval English abbey
  • a lost Renaissance painting
  • a legendary epic voyage
  • the earliest Christian letter
  • a new appreciation of prayer.

Except for the first, the rest took me by surprise the weekend before last. As pieces of an ‘invisible jigsaw’ they’d fallen into view like fresh snow.

Our long weekends off from weekday busy-ness start on Fridays, and a couple of Fridays ago we enjoyed strolling around Chichester city centre in warm sunshine. Eventide, we relaxed by catching up on an iPlayer movie recommended by our eldest daughter…

‘THE WAY’

theway_gallery_L_04This movie written and directed by Emilio Estevez is most engrossing and stars Martin Sheen (aka ‘West Wing’s US President Bartlett) as an irascible American doctor, Tom. He goes to southern France after losing his son (Emilio Estevez) who had an accidental death after having set out on  “The Way of St. James” (see map).

Rather than returning to the States, Tom wants to honour his son by completing the journey on his behalf. But he doesn’t expect the profound impact this trip has on him. The Way tells the story of his near-500 miles hike to Santiago de Compostela in north-western Spain.

The route is one of many to one of the oldest of pilgrimages sites in Europe. I recalled learning about its connection with Reading Abbey upon researching the abbey’s history Founded in 1121 by king Henry I, this English abbey was also one starting place for the Camino de Santiago, and is reputed to have the remains of St James’ hand as a relic. (My researches began in my office overlooking the ruins of the abbey’s mill, and are as copied here.)

So this movie had a personal, albeit indirect, relevance – but more was to come on the ‘morrow…

LOST PAINTING FOUND

The very next morning I found buried inside Saturday’s paper some interesting facts about a ‘centuries-old art history mystery’ –

Caravaggio’s original ‘Mary Magdalene in Ecstasy’ has been discovered in a private European collection, the world’s leading expert on the Renaissance master has claimed.

Caravagio_Magdalene

The Telegraph: photo credit La Repubblica

Although the 1606 painting has been copied several times, historian Mina Gregori says the original has finally been found. The Telegraph’s Andrea Vogt says this expert won’t  reveal which country it is in but can confirm that when she first saw the 100 by 90cm oil on canvas in the owners’ home, she had no doubt. Andrea reports, Gregori called the find a “marvellous addition” to the art world. The 80-year-old scholar and authenticator said seeing the original with her own eyes was a career highlight: “I think after all these years, I deserved it”.

This article rang a bell deep in long-forgotten memories of my pre-Christian interests  because:

The painting refers to the legend in which Mary, living as a hermit in a cave in southern France near Aix-en-Provence after Christ’s death, was overcome seven times a day by “the delightful harmonies of the celestial choirs”.

That reference, especially about an ecstatic trance, would connect with remarks I was yet to hear on the third day, and thus start seeing a part of this ‘invisible puzzle’. But we should first consider the importance of this biblical person.

Mary Magdalene was the first to see Jesus alive after his burial in the garden tomb and so many, including Pope Benedict, regard her as an “Apostle to the Apostles”. She was the sister of Martha and Lazarus, whom Jesus brought back from the dead and was to later become Bishop of Cyprus. This family are reputed to have been of royal blood and owned estates in and around Jerusalem as well as at Magdala near the Sea of Galilee, where the younger sister Mary lived and is said to have fallen into a sinful life. Jesus is thought to have frequented one or other of their premises whilst travelling with dozens of disciples.

This blessed woman became deeply devoted to Jesus after deliverance – no wonder she later sat wrapt in His teaching instead of helping her sister. On that need Jesus remarked, Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her” (Luke 10:38-42 emphasis added).

Hence, Mary Magdalene is patron of contemplatives and Caravaggio’s painting reflects an outcome of her desire and her Master’s promise.

(Thank you to ‘Joe Catholic’ for also pointing out Mary is a model for penitent sinners. Also see this informative rebuttal of modern Catholic biblical scholarship.)

Next, I dived into my library and dug out a book bought in 1971 during my investigations into early Church history.:

THE COMING OF THE SAINTS

Coming o'Saints

This book by John Taylor, first published in 1906, is   replete with source references and combines history and legend to portray the earliest Christian missions into western Europe (Spain, France and Britain).  It helped me – a non-believer –  learn about the early church’s transmission of Jesus’ original teachings. In my story, I explained my desire to find out why churches were not doing what Jesus had done, as promised in John 14:12, as well as how much of His teaching had been lost.

The editor of this book’s 1967 reprint answers complaints about mixing written records and local legend, saying the book shows they substantiate one another and dovetail together. “Of particular interest are the references culled from churches founded by the saints who were companions of our Lord during His ministry”, maintains Gladys Taylor.

She writes her namesake gathered evidence from a pilgrimage made to the French churches, and other countries, and thus produced impressive proof of their antiquity.

Coming o'Saints photos

From top: grotto cave of St Mary Magdalene; church of Les Saintes Maries; crypt of St Martha at Tarascon (J Taylor 1901)

One chapter summarises the Life of St Mary Magdalene complied by Rabanus Maurus (776-856 AD) – a manuscript copy of which is lodged in Magdalen College Library, Oxford. In his closing years he was Archbishop of Mayence (Mainz, Germany).

First however, I needed to re-remind myself of the book’s main thesis. Its first chapters examine the known historical  events, and those behind the scenes, at the close of and after Jesus’ life. Taylor thus adds detail to scripture’s narrative and he posits a list of disciples additional to the apostles, deacons and the family of Jesus. In addition to considering the ‘home-base’ of Capernaum, he lists names of followers from the house on Mont Zion and the city of Jerusalem, and towns of Bethany, Emmaus and Jericho.

Then Taylor covers some early missionary journeys not covered in Acts of the Apostles, noting Dr Luke’s historic account does not refer to the evangelical mission in Sardinia and Spain of John’s brother James. The only reference to James after Pentecost is his death at the hands of Herod in Jerusalem in 44 AD (Acts 12:2). His remains are said to have ended up centuries later back in Santiago de Compostela. Hence, pilgrimages  to his shrine, as mentioned above.

Persecution following Apostle James’ martyrdom led to the dispersal of many disciples from Jerusalem. (This was about 10 years after that led by Saul of Tarsus.)  Tradition of Provence, southern France, has a number of them being bundled into a boat without oars or sails somewhere near Mount Carmel and set adrift. They’re reputed to have been  Lazarus, Joseph of Aramathea, Maximin (leader of disciples after the apostles, and friend committed to the care of the Magdalene) as well as a favoured four: Martha and Mary, Mary wife of Cleopas and a third Mary (Salome) and others.

However, I was interested in checking John Taylor’s reference to the correct James at Jerusalem. Was it John’s brother, or Jesus’ brother James who later led the Jerusalem church and wrote a brief epistle. It is James’ historic ruling at the first Church council  that enabled non-Jews to associate with the Church without having to comply with the Mosaic laws their Jewish brethren had before coming to Christ.

So to clarify, I wasn’t so interested in Mary Magdalene as wanting to check out what Paul wrote to the Galatian churches about his post-conversion history. I recalled mention of  church leaders he met when in Jerusalem, as well as Luke’s account of those meetings (Acts 15)

Written circa 50 AD Paul’s letter is the first and therefore the oldest, canonical Christian document and earlier than the Gospels. Therein Paul tells what he did, where he went and how he learned the Gospel of Jesus by direct, personal revelation; that is, not from any original disciple or apostle:

13 For you have heard of my former conduct in Judaism, how I persecuted the church of God beyond measure and tried to destroy it….15 But when it pleased God…16 to reveal His Son in me, that I might preach Him among the Gentiles, I did not immediately confer with flesh and blood,17 nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus. 18 Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days. 19 But I saw none of the other apostles except James, the Lord’s brother. 20 (Now concerning the things which I write to you, indeed, before God, I do not lie.)  21 Afterward I went into the regions of Syria and Cilicia. 22 And I was unknown by face to the churches of Judea which were in Christ. 23 But they were hearing only, “He who formerly persecuted us now preaches the faith which he once tried to destroy.” 24 And they glorified God in me.

Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me. And I went up by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those who were of reputation, lest by any means I might run, or had run, in vain. (Emphases added)

SUNDAY VIDEO SESSION

Paul Keith DavisThe next day, Sunday, we wanted more teaching and chose to watch the Paul Keith Davis and James Levesque video discussion I’d blogged about.

In arguing for the supra-natural abilities and dimension required to bring in the harvest that meets the heart of God, “as it is defined in scripture”, Paul Keith maintains this is for those who walk with God in realms of glory and demonstrate the supra-natural. He defines and explains this relating it to Jesus’ own ability (from 27:00 on video).

Then he tells of his mis-perception of Jesus’ prayer life (at 30:35) and surmising what it had been like after a long day ministering and teaching and travelling on foot – and then go pray and spend hours in prayer…thinking,

“…what a disciplined life!” says Paul Keith.

“No, you totally misunderstood My prayer life!” the Lord said.

“He said, My prayer life was My reward!”

“The Lord’s been showing me how, at the end of the day, after He did everything He was supposed to do, He went out into the wilderness and He was released into the Presence of the Father!

“Just think about that for a minute…after a hard day could you go pray 5 hours…?  No?  Think of it as this:

“James, go spend 5 hours standing before the throne of God, go spend 5 hours in the Presence of your Father – let Him download on you, let Him refresh you, restore you.

“That’s why Jesus could pray all night! He lived under an open heaven and when He went to pray – as soon as He quieted His flesh – He was standing in the Presence of His Father, standing before the throne of God, getting refreshed and learning what the Father wanted to reveal.”

An exceptionally instructional and fascinating teaching. At 41:30 he  considers this was how apostle Paul spent lengthy periods with the Lord before he ever met any disciples and apostles and moved into any ministry.

Consequently, having considered that the day before I was ready for what he said!

CONCLUSION

This insight on Jesus’ prayer life is the common denominator between the discussion on video and Mary Magdalene, who spent lengthy periods immersed in God, as had Jesus.

Paul Keith’s insight doesn’t detract from but enhances the model prayer Jesus gave his disciples, as recorded in Matthew 6:5-15.  And it magnifies Jesus’ personal prayer to our Father in John 17.  It’s no wonder this Mary went so deep yet so high in contemplative  ecstasy – will we?

(Remember to, “First seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness…” – Matt 6:33).

Furthermore, from apostle Paul’s explanation this kind of intimacy was the norm in the earliest years of “The Way”, as the fellowship was known before the term “Christian” was coined at Antioch. (See Acts chapters 18-24, especially vv 24:18 and 22.)

Also, Paul Keith later refers to the event on the road to Emmaus, about which and without any prior intention I’d inserted a remark just before publishing the latest blog  before that weekend!

Therefore, that weekend is yet another example of ‘God-incidence’ (footnote refers).

By the way!

A couple of days later upon opening up my Bible to find where I’d got to, I found at the second turn the beginning of Luke chapter 8 staring up at me. There from the left-hand column just beside the volume’s spine I just couldn’t miss these words:

Now it came to pass, afterward, that He went through every city and village, preaching and bringing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God. And the twelve were with Him, and certain women who had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities — Mary called Magdalene, out of whom had come seven demons, and Joanna the wife of Chuza, Herod’s steward, and Susanna, and many others who provided for Him from their substance.

Later, upon reviewing and adjusting the draft of this piece, I decided to refer to the first name for the group of believers as followers of the way of Jesus Christ; the way of life He taught and demonstrated as “The Way, The Truth and The Life”.

Then when I’d done and re-read the draft I realised I’d gone FULL circle – starting with the movie ‘The Way’ I’d ended up by including scriptures on ‘The Way of Jesus’ !!

Furthermore, an email arrived about that time which opens as follows.:

Truth, we find, is stranger than fiction. Some things that happen to us when in relationship with Christ no writer could make up. And I am amazed continually at what our God does in my life and in this world…(continue here)

Could the Lord be getting our attention to pray the way He does?

Jesus & Mary fable:

My pre-Christian activities made me well aware of stories around Le Tresor Maudit, the cursed treasure of the Knights Templars, said to have been hidden for centuries but discovered by a parish priest. He spent a fortune on re-decorating a church in Rennes-le-Chateau and building a tower, both of which were dedicated to St Mary Magdalene.
Readers may know of it through bestselling The Da Vinci Code, which is based on serious research published in 1980s as The Holy Blood and The Holy Grail.  This source’s authors referred to fables about Jesus and Mary’s relationship, which I’m reliably told were then used as a deliberate advertising ploy for marketing purposes.
Consequently, that earlier book became a bestseller. The businessman who gave me The Invisible Hand (see Welcome) sold mail-order books and he told me his own copywriter had worked with HBHG authors and so he knew about its publisher’s sales slant.
Years later, I learned of another reference work by an expert on royal genealogy who claimed the fables were correct. But his analysis of scripture was unreliable, as I could demonstrate in his misquoting The Secret Gospel of Mark. Therefore, how could his claims hold water?  (Details on this blog at The Magdalene Legacy – a Critique.)

God-incidence:

I refer to coincidences that are more than serendipity (happy, fortuitous chance events) as ‘God-incidences’, for they seem to have been arranged with a clear purpose in mind. We may not always know the reason but there’s a distinct thread connecting two or more events that are closely related in time: an “aha” moment

Frequently I’m amazed by those which involve scripture and occur one day after another and sometimes even 3 or 4  consecutive days, and always from different sources. I liken God-incidence to completing a jigsaw puzzle and it seems the Lord is stressing the importance or relevance of something. So they get my full attention, as happened in the above account. (See main menu for fuller exposition.)

Blind and on the wrong path

Wow – a remarkable God-incidence! After reading this on Monday we heard through a contact of something similar happening over the weekend, but there was a serious outcome for ministers who’d unwittingly chosen to be a ‘blindfolded bride’. They hadn’t heeded our contact’s advice to prepare with more than prayer (eg. communion, anointing, donning spiritual armour) before treading where angels wouldn’t tread (psychic fair organised by a coven). So they couldn’t grasp why things went wrong!
It recalled my deliverance ministry training when I realised crucial need for clergy and leaders to be competently trained and gifted in discerning spirits. Sadly, this wasn’t wanted in a church we once attended.

Tony's avatarMy Dreams and Visions

I had a dream/vision 10/26/2014 . In this dream/vision I saw a bride walking down what looked to be a dirt path. What was strange is that she was blindfolded so obviously she could not see where she was going. I then saw various people with sight trying to take her by the hand to guide her. However, each time anyone tried to guide her, because in this dream/vision I sensed in my spirit that she was heading down the wrong path, she would lash out at them in anger with a knife.

It’s my belief that the bride in this dream/vision represents the church, the bride of Christ. The people sent to guide her back to the right path that had sight are the prophets. In the dream, even though blind, she refused help and lashed out at anyone who tried.
The scriptures that come to mind are:

Thank you everyone: 100,000th hit!

RJBA huge thank you to you personally for subscribing to this blog and especially if this is your very first visit, as well as to everyone who’s ever read my scribblings.

Thank you for deciding to stay and dip into various posts and pages.

You are personally contributing to its success. Your reading this message today could possibly be the one to make the ‘views’ counter hit 6 digits! So thank you for being here.

I especially want to thank my dear wife, Nina, for her kindness and prolonged patience during my time spent in solitude in our office/study.

It is amazing to think that circulating a couple of emails a month to a few dozen church friends on events of prophetical relevance would go on a public blog. After launching it in November 201, I was even more amazed to find a year later it had received 10,000 visits. And that number tripled in the next year. In this third year, that 2nd year’s growth rate doubled so that a month before the 3rd anniversary it has reached 100,000 hits.

So thank you very, very much for being part of this exciting adventure.

Uplifting Lion Bites: Extraction

Part 3 of Call to Pray for the UK wasn’t easy to write because of a severe distraction I’d encountered – which isn’t really a surprise as it’s about ‘battle’! A vicious attack from the accuser of the brethren came through an adult child’s wrongful accusation.

So upon opening my email this morning, I was extremely encouraged to read this from Glasgow Prophetic Centre which exactly describes and speaks right into my 20 years old situation. May it also ‘uplift’ you too:

EXTRACTION

1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has overtaken you but such as is common to man; and God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will provide the way of escape also, so that you will be able to endure it.

Lion-Bites-logo-2012I see the hand of God reaching down and extracting you from the dark and hard situation that you have been in for a time.

God says, “Enough!” You have endured hardship and even loss and pain, but this is the day of extraction, this is the day of your release and deliverance.

God is sovereignly extracting you now from your dark situation and placing you in His bosom, where you will find rest.

Matthew 11:29b-30
YOU WILL FIND REST FOR YOUR SOULS. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.

T H A N K  Y O U  L O R D!

Thank you, an apology and questions on ‘No Ebb’ prophecy

Thank you to Lynne for notifying me about Arthur Burt, and to Tony for asking about him.

To you dear subscriber, and more importantly, I’d ask you to please accept my apology for not having included in the previous post the date of Arthur’s departure to be with the Lord. I’m sorry for any confusion you may have been caused over its omission.

Normally I’m off-line Friday-Sundays save for running off news reports and scanning for urgent email. One brought this news but there was no time to do anything other than to feature earlier posts on the Home Page and include an announcement plus photo. (Any other posts appearing on a Friday/Saturday have been pre-scheduled for automatic publication.) However, I didn’t realise a regular email advice isn’t issued for such re-publishing. Therefore, in blogging yesterday’s post about Arthur I assumed that readers would already see the news on the Home Page.

So I’ve updated that post and expanded upon what Mary brought, as well as added a map. Now we need to check out whether or not the words Arthur carried for nearly 80 years are of the Lord.

Questions on the ‘No Ebb’ prophecy

As with all prophetic words, this one too – along with Bob Jones’ word – needs to be held in a ‘pending’ tray to wait and see if it will be fulfilled, thereby indicating it was brought through a true prophet. That is, they need to be held loosely, for interpretation is the Lord’s.

Therefore it needs to be weighed against scripture as well as checking with the Holy Spirit. Also, does it accord with the Lord’s character and purposes; was it delivered through an accredited prophetic voice?

I humbly submit a few comments on this:

1. Arthur’s account of the reception of the words is an extensive, essential epistle and tells his personal story. In view of the recent teaching about which I blogged here about the Beginning and holy darkness, it’s interesting to read his Prologue’s opening pages.

Therein, he recounts the night the prophetic word came > “And it shall come like…and there shall be no ebb”.  It marked the beginning of the days in which he would look for its fulfillment when, “the earth shall be covered with His Glory”, as in Psalm 72:19.

Clearly, Arthur longed to see such a day when Revival would not just come and slowly dissipate but stay as a full visitation of God’s Glory. He recounts the many times, and especially in modern days, when such wonderful moves and manifestations have ebbed away and become just another denomination, or way of ‘doing church’!

But this prophetic word brought promise of such a long-lasting powerful revival which would not ebb away. It is very likely the same one Smith Wigglesworth and his prayer partner Norman James each saw in a vision – see blog’s Library under 1947 & 1997.

2. Bob Jones’ account of having heard from God about encouraging a man overseas needs some scrutiny in view of its anecdotal rather than recorded nature, especially in view of the time-lapse. Bob’s friend, Rev Steve Scroggs, writes in The Awakening of the Lord’s End of Days’ plan to bring a billion youth into the Kingdom. He says both Bob and Arthur had revelatory insights into His plan and notes Bob’s remarks,

‘I did not know this word, or Arthur, when Bob Jones told me his part of the story. One morning in the late 1980′s, when Bob was praying and talking to God, the Lord told Bob that he wanted him to encourage one of his men in Great Britain. The Lord said, “In the year you were born I gave him a word, and he has not seen this word fulfilled. Tell him that he will see this word come to pass before he dies.”

Now there’s a question over this dating because Bob was born in 1930, Arthur’s book has 1934 and his daughter Mary thinks it may have been as late as 1937.

Another way of looking at this, however, is that the Lord planted this word as a seed into Arthur’s spirit in 1930 but it needed nurturing and watering. Then, when delivered by another man it had an immediate impact upon Arthur because it was already in him, albeit dormant, and so it came into full bloom; or, as Mary comments in this blog,

“…it so moved him that dad grabbed hold of it. He has kept it alive all these years.”

The other question over dates is when Bob was told about Arthur because Steve’s later remarks about Kathie Walters contacting Bob on his date disagree with hers. She refers not to 1980’s but about 2009-11, as may be inferred from her account:

‘Several years ago I was in Wales. I was doing an Elijah List conference. After the conference I went to North Wales, to visit an old friend, Arthur Burt. Arthur has been in the ministry for about 85 years. He was part of a tremendous revival years ago around the 1930′s.

‘When I came back to the U.S. I called Bob Jones to see if he had any word for Wales. He said, “No, but I have a word for an old man in Wales and you were just in his house.”

“That must be Arthur Burt,” I said, as that was the only older man whose house I had been in. Bob didn’t know who Arthur Burt was at that time. “What’s the word?” I asked.

“Tell him, he will see the word,” Bob said.

“He will see what word?” I asked.

“Bob said ” I don’t know, you will have to ask him what word he received. He received it years ago. It was given to a group of people and they are all dead now except for him. But tell him he will see it”.’

Despite lack of clarity over when Bob heard from the Lord, the message details remain consistent. Furthermore, we know from many accounts of Bob Jones from close friends such as Bobby Conner and Paul Keith Davis, he operated in an exceptionally accurate gift of knowledge, as indicated in the above excerpt from Kathie’s account (in full here).

3. So if that reminder was from the Lord, what was it that He would be showing Arthur? “Tell him he will see it!”.  Does that mean all the prophecy or part of it? That prophecy describes something happening in sequence:

“It shall come as a breath…
And the breath shall bring the wind…
And the wind shall bring the rain.
And there shall be floods and floods and floods…
And torrents and torrents and torrents.
Souls shall be saved like falling leaves
from mighty oaks swept by a hurricane.
Arms and legs shall come down from heaven…
..And there shall be no ebb.”

From late 2013 and into early 2014 the UK experienced unprecedented weeks of wild wind, heavy rains, massive flooding and an earthquake!  So Arthur lived to see the first part of the prophetic word. The promise brought through Bob Jones therefore proved true.

Therefore, the original word’s own promise of an abundance of souls coming into God’s Kingdom may be just around the corner – or more likely, over the horizon!

Perhaps it may be like a spiritual tsunami sweeping right around the globe from where an immense number of salvations are increasing (China). Its initial ‘up-swelling’ is being felt by those who are awakening to what God is doing in this new season.  For example, recall Justin Abraham’s remarks in Prophecy of a roller-coaster ride – Get Ready!

“Just back from a ballistic incredible time in OZ and NZ. Things are heating up! We are seeing early signs of the great turning of the tide everywhere…

“It’s already started and isn’t it amazing we get to see days of fulfilment and breakthrough that previous generations imagined. A brand new day. Strap yourselves in for an exciting ride!”

In this connection, Paul Keith mentioned that the open spiritual atmosphere he senses in Wales and UK is like that over Canada, but it is not so for the United States.

Now, could this be because both lands’ Prime Ministers are not anti-Semitic and anti-Israel and so the Lord’s hand of blessing is upon our nations? I’m sure it is!

Methinks Habbakuk 2 verses 1 and 13-14 seem right for what’s happening:

I will stand at my watch
    and station myself on the ramparts;
I will look to see what he will say to me,
and what answer I am to give to this complaint.

13 Has not the Lord Almighty determined
that the people’s labour is only fuel for the fire,
that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing?
14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord  as the waters cover the sea.

Amen.

Nuggets from ‘Days of Wonder’, Wales

Further to my recent post on the meeting in Cardiff, here’s a little more from Paul Keith Davis’ opening minutes:

PK Davis_credit z3news“I’m of the belief – and I know you are as well – that we will not accomplish our mandate without the supernatural realm. Period!

“It’s not going to happen! We have no ability…we’re not eloquent enough, not smart enough, we’re not anything enough to get the job done without a dimension of the supernatural being manifested in real and tangible ways, so that a dying world can see it – and our doing what we’re called to do

“Wouldn’t it  be wonderful to do everything we’re called to do?…”

“It’s a time of awakening, of people doing what they’re called to do…you are uniquely qualified to meet the needs of your generation. I don’t know a more needy generation. Maybe those of Genesis 6 [Days of Noah] were more needy?

“The apostle Paul talking to Timothy said, ‘you think these days are bad, what about ‘the last days’, when they’ll be lovers of self and money grabbing?’…if apostle Paul needed the supernatural to confront what he did in his day, how much more do we because he said our day will be far worse.

“So the idea that the supernatural is only for the days of the Apostles because of the difficulty of their day is un-biblical. It is an un-biblical posture and we’ve got to break it off the evangelical mind-set of the Church.”

DoW Speakers by Lindi MastersIan Clayton’s personal story is of remarkable recovery from business failure and bankruptcy. In desperation he and his wife had no choice but to turn to God and to rely upon Him as their source of provision and supply. With fears a constant barrage in his face, Ian found the only way to face and deal with them was from above with God. And the only way he could have time for that was during repetitive, routine menial tasks like mowing their large lawn with a push-mower.

On the few times I’ve heard him, Ian often refers the importance of being in “Passionate pursuit of the Person and Presence of God”, which led to profound insights about Creation, time and space and the ‘heavenlies’.

In this gathering Ian launched off with,

ian-300x268“I don’t think that we have a grid yet on the reality of what God is trying to do with us as believers!

“We don’t understand the value that our human body is to God…We have no revelation yet beyond the Cross…The Church has stopped at the Cross and we haven’t gone beyond it!

“I believe that in ‘crossing the Jordan’ is the revelation of our going beyond the Cross because Jesus didn’t actually sort of die – but He sort of did!”

Please don’t presume Ian’s introducing false doctrine akin to Islam’s denial of Jesus’ death. He goes on to talk about the physiological corrosive effect of blood in a dying body, and the possibility Jesus didn’t need it for or after His resurrection. Also, blood relates to breathing and having a voice.

In explaining this he cites disciple Thomas touching Jesus’ wounds. Unlike his brethren, Thomas hadn’t been there to see his teacher display His wounds to them.

For readers unfamiliar with Thomas, I’d explain that he was cynical about their claims. He wanted not only to see for himself that Jesus is alive but also to, “Put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side”, thereby testing their claims (John 20:24-28).

A week layer when they were all together, Jesus materialised out of thin air behind closed doors and invited Thomas to not only ”bring the finger and perceive” the nail marks in His hands but also “thrust hands into My side”  [per Greek-interlinear] which, says Ian, means exactly that rather than simply touch.

Ian’s of the opinion that ‘into’ means the same as being ‘IN Christ’, for he says,

“Thomas put his hands INTO a new creature – not a human being – into a realm that’s to do with the issue of breathing (?) that we have no reference for because the Church has not been into the darkness yet!…I’m trying to make things simple…”

We all laugh and, indeed, Ian’s dramatic sessions are highly interactive. He often pauses with a grin and raised eyebrow to watch reactions and check we’re following him. It’s a standing joke that his theology ‘fries brains’!

“Do you realise ‘Doubting Thomas’ wasn’t doubting at all? He was the only one (of those disciples) that stepped into a revelatory realm in his time, and that others are doubting you can get into!”

[This notion may also give an insight into Mark 16:12 statement that Jesus ‘appeared in another form to two of them as they walked into the country’ (to Emmaus); also into the ‘mystery’ of believers’ bodies putting off corruption and becoming incorruptible – 1 Cor 15:50-57]

The darkness to which Ian refers isn’t demonic but ‘treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places wherein we can know the God of Israel ‘ (Isaiah 45:3). And that scripture was given not for an Israelite but for the Lord’s anointed gentile, Cyrus king of Persia (per 1st verse). So how much more appropriate it is for believers in Jesus Christ, who are not only His royal priesthood but who also are blessed with ‘power to become sons of God’, to be able to access that treasure. (John 1:12 KJV)

Also, this relates directly to His existence before Creation. From the outset of seeking Him, Ian wanted to know what God was like before the Beginning – “What He was like when He was, before the ‘is’ and ‘was’ became ‘was’.” (‘The Alpha and Omega’ of Rev 1:8).

Personal Note

This journey started with an unexpected hint about what may be a theme for me to note – that of ‘regeneration’. It was fascinating, therefore, how all three teachers dovetailed together and spoke into several personal points. Furthermore, the Lord began a deep stirring over His Word, which Paul Keith picked up upon during ministry time.

I was reminded of the time the Lord impressed upon me the concept of an as yet unwritten book of scripture – one beyond the Bible’s back cover and all about the new earth and new heaven or ‘Age to Come’. That is, following Revelation and after the New Jerusalem and the Marriage of the Lamb. Some confirmations were soon to follow and concluded with teaching upon the Sonship-Bridal Paradigm by Paul Keith (see Revival 1:glory stories).

So the ‘Days of Wonder’ meeting plugs into that concept, especially with Ian’s teaching on how God exists outside time in eternity as The Alpha and Omega, where the End meets the Beginning,

“We don’t understand what God is. To understand what we will become we have to go back to the beginning; we’ll end up in the beginning – we’re going back into what we were, because Hebrews think circular. God is Alpha and Omega and what started is where we will finish…”

His exposition on this and the gift of prophecy and creating our future was fascinating.

So the concept of God’s glory hidden in holy darkness is intriguing; even illuminating, in view of what I once saw long before I was born-again. Living unbeknown in the enemy’s camp, I dreamt of a huge, black thunder-cloud coming over the horizon. Much as I love  watching thunderstorms and recalled many ferocious ones in Italy and Greece, this one was menacing because it possessed a brooding intelligence. A deep fear came upon me. I didn’t know about Ezekiel’s vision, but his opening description of the cloud of God was like my dream (Ezek 1:4).

Also, a question I wanted to ask Ian about a pre-Christian experience in ‘nirvana’ and the devourer was answered by his teaching. Thus, I understand the realm of a second heaven is accessible to anyone practising occult techniques, but only those who are ‘in Christ’ are protected by His blood and may enter the third heaven, as did apostle Paul (2Cor 12:2) – and Thomas!

A couple of other things he mentioned in passing connected into things I’d sensed, and Paul Keith also spoke into thoughts I’d had on Daniel, judgement and contending. And on the final day Ian taught about ‘The Age to Come’!

My notes can but give a brief ‘taster’ of these ‘Days of Wonder’ and I’m listening again to the sessions and trying to process everything.

And I’ve yet to explain about the lion, as promised in my musings upon Fflad-y-Brenin..

The event made a mighty impact upon Paul Keith, as related in ‘Follow-on’ video-post.

‘Days of Wonder’ gathering in Wales

With the phrasein the regeneration” of Matthew 19:28 emblazoned in mind and setting a seal of expectancy for our short holiday, I was also alert to another claim.

At the back of my mind about the gathering in Cardiff was a reference I’d read to its being of ‘strategic importance’.

I must be frankly honest, however, for on checking all through the ‘flyer’ I cannot find what I saw and read – but in my opinion, it was indeed an important meeting for changes going on in the wider church

To continue from the 2nd part of this regenerating week in South Wales, on leaving Ffald-y-Brenin via Fishguard we headed south and eastward for Cardiff and thence to Cwmbran for the evening’s scheduled ‘Outpouring’ service at Victory Church.

That was our intention but we got halted when a large, sliding mirror met my big toe!

There was time to book into our hotel in Cardiff and have a bite to eat before heading for Cwmbran. However, on unpacking and hanging my clothes in the wardrobe its mirrored sliding doors jammed and somehow one door dropped on my left foot – OUCH! A first aider and manager were soon with us and ice pack padded my blue toe-nail. And in the heat we found the air conditioning unit didn’t work. The upshot was a move to a larger room and free drinks with our meal. The outing to Cwmbran had gone out of the window.

But there was a track record for such setbacks being an indicator of a terrific time coming up next – and remember the promise in Prophecy of a roller-coaster ride – get ready…?

Back in 2005 we attended a week-long school on the supernatural in scripture. It took longer to arrive in that Midlands town than planned but, with only 5 mins to the school’s start, I found a nearby car-park and arrived at the venue in time. At lunch-time we went to book in at our hotel and grab a bite of lunch.

“Your room’s been cancelled Mr Barker!” the hotel’s receptionist told me.

“What? How? When?”

“Our note says you phoned at 10:25 this morning to cancel…” was her reply.

“Ridiculous! That was about the time we parked in town for the event we’re attending !”

It was a most instructive week. Although trained thoroughly in healing and deliverance at Ellel Ministries we’d not had such in-depth instruction for 12 hours/day in these aspects of the Bible. I asked tutor Todd Bentley, “Where were you 40 years ago?”. Had all this knowledge and instruction been available when I was a teenager, I wouldn’t have sought it from Eastern religions and the New Age (see Searching for truth leads me into captivity).

I recall looking at the large local parish church’s cemetery opposite the school’s venue of an old converted cinema. The thought struck me that church was as dead as those in its massive graveyard! (Hence my remark in the previous post.)

So now, with throbbing big toe and its purple-blue nail I was hoping for an exceptional time. And we had just that!  Thank you Lord God.

Days of Wonder

How can words describe what was heard and experienced? I’ll try with a few snippets after this shot of us between the ladies’ raised arms…

DoW Cardiff by Lindi Masters

Three worship sessions daily were literally ‘out of this world’. On one occasion it seemed as though not only the entire 300-odd assembly but also the room were suspended high in orbit (maybe between earth and moon?).  The ceiling with its thick beams became a vast window/skylight through which dark space and stars could be seen. And the sound of our worship at times was like what I’d heard in Newport at the foot of the ‘Hill of Angels’.

[I recalled the sound of angels joining with spontaneous worship at the Revival Alliance in 2012.  It got captured on cd and the contractor sound engineer testified that there were instruments registering which they’d not connected. And the way spotlights were spinning in time to the music was wonderful. An ‘invisible jigsaw’ falls into place refers.]

The convener Justin Abraham’s sessions were very good, especially his emphatically stressing that a deep, burning desire to know Father God is essential for entering heavenly realms. And it’s key to everything taught at his gathering.

I was interested in seeing how the two main teachers Paul Keith Davis and Ian Clayton would deliver their different subject material. Each has a sound understanding of our living Lord and his word, yet have their own distinct experiences and style of speaking

DoW Speakers by Lindi Masters

We’ve known of Paul Keith since we heard him in Bath several years ago, and have attended some of his UK conferences as well as following his regular newsletters.

In those early days he once went by, heading towards someone else, but glanced at us. In doing so, he spoke an awesome personal word about Jesus’ return that remains etched in me.

The timing of that word’s fulfillment may present a personal problem, so I presumed. However, it so happened that Ian Clayton would teach upon longevity!

It’s 2 years since we first went to Well Church International and Ian was due to teach. He brought novel insights into scripture and on getting close to the Lord. I was pleased to hear him speak about coincidences, but very surprised when he used the same description of it that had popped into my mind a few weeks earlier! (See closing Note to this post.)

So that ‘link’ enabled me to accept his explanation of ‘God-incidence’ and to appreciate his other material. Also, I able to follow and understand everything he was teaching on these novel, perhaps radical, and often scientific but biblical concepts.

Paul Keith opened the gathering with,

“I believe that we’re on the verge of something significant… the spirit realm is saturated, its bursting, we’re at a tipping point. You never know when..the next session might be the one,  the next prayer, the next prophetic word…We’ve got to keep doing what we know how to do and it will happen…”

“From Day of Atonement 2014 to Day of Atonement 2015 we are to have things and structures such as ‘apostolic’ hubs and communities in place for a spiritual jubilee…the next major juncture and anointing to build structure for the Millenium to forge the future from the unseen realm…

“It’s time for every born-again Christian to be able to SEE the kingdom of God…”

As an example he mentioned how Jesus appeared to Maria Woodward Etter and then saw a Bible appear on her wall with the glory of God shining from it. Thus, she understood its entire content supernaturally, but Paul Keith was quick to say that doesn’t mean she didn’t need to study scripture. He continued,

“I’m just telling you that in a place in God we can connect with heaven, all the dots get connected. I’ve had some of the revelations where suddenly you see it and think ‘How did you miss that!’

“There’s great truths, there’s great mysteries in the Bible that are going to be revealed to this last days’ generation that have been there all along but we just haven’t seen them yet.

“The blind is about to be removed and we’ll see things we haven’t seen because God’s reserved them for this hour. There’s truth reserved for this hour to present the Bride of Christ without spot or wrinkle

“They’re truths about the spirit realm, truths about the word, truths about who we are in Christ  and Who Christ is in us and all of that…”

And that was just to start…!

Paws-4-thought: Ffald-y-Brenin and a prophetic promise

Paws4thort 4Let’s linger in south-west Wales before continuing on our journey to tell about the Days of Wonder gathering in Cardiff. Would you spend some moments to muse with me over a few things?

Offered a refreshing cup of tea upon arrival at the Newport Links hotel, Nina took it to seats looking down to the beach. There, she met a fellow guest who, it so happened, had returned for dinner from Ffald-y-Brenin. Clearly a ‘divine appointment’, and Jane and Nina chatted away as only those who’ve got an exceptionally special person in common can do.

The clean atmosphere of the Newport area plus its fascinating house of prayer at Ffald-y-Brenin made a deep impact which still affects us two weeks later, even though we were visiting friends and not participating in its daily prayer rhythm. Although my 2013 post on Revival in Wales and the Outpouring in Cwmbran briefly referred to this place, I hadn’t done any background reading whatsoever prior to our trip.

Years ago I wrote a paper for Reading churches on its Abbey’s history and the town’s Viking period and battles in 870s AD with the future king Alfred the Great. So, I was also aware of  the history of the ancient British Celtic Church, especially in its Northumbrian king Oswald’s treaties in 630s AD at Dorchester-on-Thames with heathen Mercian king Cynegils and the Roman Catholic missionary Birinus.  Earlier studies had taken me into the history of the early British church. (For example, 6th century historian Gildas posits the Gospel’s arrival in the later years of Tiberius Caesar’s reign, circa 40 AD. In AD 177 Eleutherius of Rome wrote to king Lucius in answering how to conduct himself as a Christian in the kingdom of Britain.)  However, all that past information was deeply submerged in the recesses of my mind.

I came to South Wales in blissful ignorance to enjoy a refreshing short holiday.

So, what I blogged earlier in the 2nd part of my ‘regenerating week in Wales’ was a very basic personal impression. However, as I completed it I realised some details would help readers who are interested in the retreat. So I copied in extracts from the Trust’s website. Also, just after publishing it I got a nudge to search on Google and immediately noticed a blog I’d quoted previously on Wales in the historically erudite Diebach-welldigger.

Therefore, I scanned David Edward Pike’s personal account of The Grace Outpouring and quoted his closing remarks on a roaring lion – without having read it in full.

Imagine my surprise upon doing so at leisure later. Here are details not only about the origins of Ffald-y-Brenin but also on 6th century Celtic saint Brynach’s time spent on the mountain its built upon. Which is why that place is named ‘The Hill of Angels’.

Carn Ingli in distance

Over the mountain road from Ffald-y-Brenin to Fishguard we stopped for lunch up on the col and walked up to the tor shown above, from which the top of Carn Ingli may be seen in the distance. It was a good place from which to speak out blessings to family and everyone in the area.

Speaking a Blessing

Diebach’s account of the retreat centre refers to a couple of supernatural events I wish to draw your attention to. One is on the solitary cross and its origin.

The other event is the lion that appeared to a pastor from Africa in the beehive chapel and the reference to the four points of the compass. I wish to refer to the significance of that when blogging about the Days of Wonder gathering in Cardiff. Peculiar as it may seem to those who have no grid for the supernatural, I can attest that a huge lion was seen to walk through our local church. Only when a visitor reported having seen it did I know I wasn’t imagining it!

Also for those who wish to know more, I recommend a fellow reader’s travelogue on his St David’s to Leominster Prayer Walk. This is apposite to Pembrokeshire as well as in connection with my remarks in A spiritual slant to the Olympic torch’s route, viz:

I was intrigued to learn from a fellow reader of an encouraging encounter with some Welsh Christians during his hike from Newport, Wales to the Lizard in Cornwall . This group had been in contact with people involved in new age etc and had been told “such groups were aware something was going on in the spiritual realm”!!

Mark’s call to the prayer walk was directly connected to the London 2012 Olympics, which are related to the Queen’s Silver Jubilee about which I wrote several posts on the prophetic significance of the Jubilee Bells.

Yet of particular interest is his reference to his key prayer theme on the walk as being confirmed by the restoration of St David’s shrine in the very year of his walk, AND this is identical to the ‘unexpected hint’ from Matt 19:28 referred to in part 1 of our journey. Also, Mark writes that the statue of David has a dove by his shoulder and his holding a Bible, which signifies the combined foundation of the Word and the Holy Spirit, which is also the message of Smith Wigglesworth’s prophetic vision.

About a prophetic promise

Of all the hundreds of prophetic words I’ve blogged about, only one has resulted in a hostile response and slanderous slur upon my character. It relates to the report from Roger of what happened during one of the prayer times at Ffald-y-Brenin when it was considered that Jesus is “calling the Anglican church out of Lazarus’ cave”.

I had intellectual reservations yet it seemed right in my spirit, and it’s timing fell in with a related vision that had come to an Anglican Ordinand on retreat with several others. So I reported it, but a visitor to this blog challenged it.  Now there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that and I respect everyone’s opinion and gave it serious consideration.

Yet my explanation was rejected and the report scorned by that bibliolater; ie. someone who thinks their interpretation and application of scripture is sacrosanct. His reference to what Jesus said at Matthew 24 and assumption it means me, indicates his grasp of scripture is not as sound as it could be. That is, he uses eisegesis not exegesis. That is, there’s an incorrect inference because the plain meaning isn’t taken into context either then or as applied to now.  [Thank you The Bishop Dr. for the excellent explanation, What’s with those “Gesis” brothers?]

This critic doesn’t follow Jesus’ instruction about not judging and condemning another. In my opinion it’s wiser to let the Accuser of the brethren do its own dirty work – and if what I reported is actually a work of the Holy Spirit, that soul has possibly committed an unforgiveable sin.

Therefore, I can only conclude satan is very unhappy with this claim about the Anglican Church. Consequently, that prophetic promise on ‘Lazarus cave’ may well be from the Holy Spirit. Having now been to Ffald-y-Brenin and sensed the brooding presence of the Holy Spirit there, I am even more confident of the validity of what Roger shared on revival within England’s established church.

What’s more – this isn’t the first instance of our adversary’s use of heresy hunters over revival in Wales, as noted in this post about Chuck Pierce’s prophetic word on Wales.

A validation?

What may we expect for evidence that the Anglicans are ‘reviving’ or coming out of a tomb, like Lazarus when Jesus called him forth?

Perhaps one noticeable change would be the reversal of centuries of anti-Semitism practised for centuries by the traditional, established churches – and as promulgated by ‘replacement theology’ (the false idea that God no longer has any covenant with the Jews because the new one instituted by Jesus Christ has superseded it).

So let’s take serious note of remarks by leading blogger, His Grace Cranmer. In Welby: “Israel has the same legitimate rights to peace and security as any other state, he writes,

When did you last hear an Anglican bishop, let alone the Archbishop of Canterbury, support Israel’s historic and legal rights? When did you least hear a bishop of the Church of England advocate militarised self-defence as the only rational path to peace when confronted by murderous Jew-haters who conceal their bombs below hospitals, their rockets in clinics, and their guns and grenades in schools and mosques?

In drawing Anglicans toward a better understanding of His work with the Jews – exactly as Jesus’ friend Lazarus would have well known – then perhaps the Lord really is reviving this part of His body, as not only surmised upon Archbishop Welby’s enthronement (New era for the Church refers) but also as heard recently during the regular prayers at this renowned retreat in South Wales.

Now, come for an awesome time in Cardiff >>

A regenerating week in Wales – 2

Newport to BayWe could relax here in the refreshing spiritual atmosphere of the whole locality and noticed hamlets named after places in the Holy Land (eg. Bethesda, Gethsemane) and many church references. Sauntering around nearby Newport’s Norman church, adjacent tower and bakery (below) we met and chatted with locals, who are so warm and friendly.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAAn art exhibition beckoned from a disused church hall and I stood in the middle to survey the displays. One stall-holder was present but engrossed with his tablet.

I could hear subtle singing!  Is the building’s fabric impregnated with worship? It was only a simple hall, but perhaps it had been the parish church’s Sunday school? Or could it be the sound of worship ascending to the Holy, Living God for at least a millennium from the village, or even the region?

Ha, what a miscalculation! I was to learn that fell short by half a millennium when I read  about the rich heritage of Christianity in Wales. It is evident all around, including ancient Celtic crosses, holy wells, and pilgrim routes focused on St Davids. Also, Blaenannerch Chapel, where Evan Roberts encountered the Holy Spirit so powerfully in 1904, is also nearby.

Behind the mountain…Ffald-y-Brenin

Now, time to visit friends from our church who’d taken up supervisory roles at a semi-monastic Anglican-style community at Ffald-y-Brenin, which means ‘Sheep-fold of the King’.  Roger and Trisha’s new abode lies on the other side of 1140ft Mynydd Carningli brooding over Newport. From our hotel by Newport beach we wend our way along a single track road to this ‘nest’ snuggled high on Carn Ingli’s hidden shoulder.

Fortunately, our car’s champion at ‘breathing in’ to squeeze along Devon’s faster ‘rat-runs’. Here, in the secluded hills and valleys of the Preseli Mountains, traffic was only occasional. Nevertheless, having a dual-function radar dome of a skull, and being tongue-in-cheek!, I’m blessed with an invisible sensor that assesses the likelihood of oncoming vehicles, adjusting speed accordingly. Fortunately more often than not, approaching cars are met at occasional passing places.

Nevertheless, there’s an additional challenge of 1-in-2 gradients and tight hairpin bends. Of such was the 100 yards or more single-track entry drive up to Ffald-y-Brenin. Once there, apparently some visitors had great difficulty walking beyond the gate towards the beehive-shaped chapel because of the weighty presence of the Lord!

There’s definitely an awareness of the stillness of God’s presence. This has often been called “a thin place” – where the veil between heaven and earth has been pulled back. It is easy to pray, to be still, to listen, to worship. It is also a place of joy, of creativity and of learning, a place of encounter. Also, there’s a stunning beauty of the buildings and surroundings. Unbidden peace invades our hearts and minds.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAWe enter by the wider drive at the other end of the buildings. Our friends are pleasantly surprised to hear our call as we climb stairs to their residential floor. Meeting their visiting family we hear about the miraculous healing of a lady who’d been blind for eight years and now able to see her younger children – as in this brief blog.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThen we’re taken all around this beautiful place; the single ‘cells’, dormitories, meeting and prayer rooms and met voluntary workers.

The meditative place of a solitary cross presides over the area, as though in blessing the heart of the Preseli mountains, from which came the monoliths of Stonehenge.

Although there are many residents there were no signs of busy-ness between the set morning and midday prayer times. At the beehive-shaped, small circular chapel however, we can’t all enter as people are engaged in quiet prayer. On either side are short curved benches built into the wall and I manage to get to an end but Nina remains at the door, unable to stand! So we return to our friends and pray together outside – but doubled-up because of the holy atmosphere!

The Outpouring of Grace on Wales Continues….

The blessing of God continues to be poured out at Ffald-y-Brenin, a remote Christian House of Prayer and Retreat Centre in South West Wales, UK. People are pouring in from the nations and many are being blessed and healed.

The deaf hear, the lame walk, and joy arises to heaven! Increasingly we are seeing people make a commitment to follow Jesus Christ. Hundreds are launching into local prayer-based mission-shaped discipleship in Wales and the nations.

Visitors coming on retreat at Ffald-y-Brenin tend to find it restful, challenging or life changing, depending on their purpose in coming and God’s agenda for them while they are here.

Our Prayer Days and Conferences are packed as people recognise that Jesus is in the house, and, being present, he works wonders amongst us.

The beginnings of this move of God are described in the best-selling ‘The Grace Outpouring’ by Roy Godwin and Dave Roberts. Come, taste and see that The Lord is good!

At its heart, Ffald-y-Brenin is a House of Prayer. Everything that happens is soaked in prayer. Guests are welcome to join with us and gaze into the face of Jesus during our daily rhythm of morning, midday and evening prayer if they choose. Some have deep encounters with God at those times. Others have retreated to escape meetings and are equally welcome to choose not to join with us.

Individuals, families, groups of friends, church leaders, house groups, church groups of various sorts; art groups, study groups, youth groups; those searching to discover the reality of God revealed in Jesus; all find a warm welcome awaiting them.

You will understand that, as a Christian Centre, we are unable to accommodate any alternative religious worship or practices.

Ffald-y-Brenin

For more about the community from a personal perspective and review of the book, see David Pike’s excellent review The Grace Outpouring at Ffald-y-Brenin (2011), which concludes.

There’s a lion’s roar going out of Pembrokeshire right now. I feel it will be heard to the ends of the earth, in all four directions in the coming days.

Therein, I learn that the name of the mountain tor between Newport and Ffald-y-Brenin means ‘Hill of the Angels’!! SO did I hear them singing?

If you’re following me along this journey perhaps you’d like to consider a couple more things before I tell you what happened in Cardiff?  Click here to mull over matters.
