End-Times Briefing 14: Book of Revelation’s importance – 10 key points

In his third annexure to Simplicity, Neil Mackereth asks and points out:

WHY IS THE BOOK OF REVELATION SO IMPORTANT?
10 KEY POINTS

1. It is the Culmination of The Bible Story. The denouement.
Could you imagine the Bible ending with the one-chapter book of Jude?

2. It Shows Jesus in His glory – As King of Kings and Lord of Lords.
So awesome that even His close friend John fell on his face as if dead when he saw Jesus. We know Jesus as prophet, teacher, priest, healer and so on – but here we see Him in all His glory.

3. It Provides Knowledge: to Defeat Misinformation. A challenge to false prophets and false doctrine.

4. It Provides Knowledge: to Help us Understand World Events. Revelation shows that God foreknew, He is in control, and His plan will not be thwarted.
Current events: Israel, 1948 and following; moves towards a new world order – a world economic system and a world governmental system.

5. It Provides Knowledge: to help us be pathfinder guides and watchmen for Israel.

6. It is a Basis for Evangelism.
It is my contention that the incredible significance and glorious wonder of so much fulfilled prophecy in the Bible, is so “undersold” that it indicates the church has been duped into veiling parts of the Word of God Any other prophetic book that was so absolutely accurate over so many events over such a long period of time, would be hailed and revered in awe and wonder by the secular world.

7. An antidote to complacency.
We now know enough to not be caught unawares.

8. Future Focus: it prepares us for what lies ahead.
Revelation tells us more about our eternal home and condition, rather than our current temporary state – more about the significance and urgency of the choice we, and all people, need to make.

9. Worship.
A book full of worship, and how to worship – 11 major songs that have inspired a multitude of hymns and choral works, songs etc.

10. Because God tells us it is Special!
It is the only book in the Bible that blesses the reader and the hearer (Rev 1:3) John wrote it as he saw it and heard it, which may account for its unusual style – he was continually being reminded to write down what he saw and heard, and then told not to change it! – Reveleation 22:18-19.

End-Times Briefing 13: triple ‘God-incidence’ re. contactless payments & Mark of the Beast

Puzzle In Sky by Idea Go, courtesy Freedigitalphotos.com

As if by coincidence, a week ago today three people alerted me separately to ‘the Mark of the Beast,’ as in the 13th chapter of The Book of Revelation, as herein:

The Beast from the Earth

11 Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth, and he had two horns like a lamb and spoke like a dragon. 12 And he exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence, and causes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 He performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men. 14 And he deceives [f]those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed. 16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no-one may buy or sell except one who has [g]the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him who has understanding calculate the number of the beast, for it is the number of a man: His number is 666. 1st GOD-INCIDENCE

Friday 26th June was the latter half of 24 hours of fasting to finish a week of prayer held by our church. I limited my drinks to tea or coffee and didn’t have any accompanying ‘yummies’! Therefore, this unusual when joining a couple for a chat over morning coffee at Petersfield Heath. It was their first time near others since the start of lockdown three months ago.

For several weeks the outdoor cafe has opened on certain days to serve take-away drinks, subject to ‘socially distanced’ queuing and not handling items, such as cash, for the good of the staff’s health. So, it’s ‘contactless payments only’. We’ve known the manager since the cafe first opened and my card is not enabled for such payments, so they allow me to pay by tapping my PIN whilst wearing one of their disposable gloves.

Last Friday, the manager took orders and asked if I don’t use contactless on principle, so I answered “Yes”. He said local Environmental Health officials are instructing businesses to reopen by following his method of accepting money. That is, local firms are now encouraged not to accept any cash, thus avoiding the risk of Covid-19 virus, and move entirely to payments enabled by a digital personal number – as foretold in Revelation 13!

2nd GOD-INCIDENCE

That evening Neil Mackereth emailed me a new article in which he quotes those verses in connection with a vaccination programme against the Covid-19 virus. The pertinent part coinciding with what I’d heard that morning, reads:

“Everyone will be encouraged to have the vaccination and, for seemingly very sensible reasons, to have an identifying mark (like a tattoo) to show their immunity.
In the early stages of “normalisation”, retail outlets (shops, pubs, restaurants etc.) will be able to relax social distancing restrictions, for those who can show that they have been vaccinated (i.e. have the mark of immunity)…I am not suggesting that it will be inappropriate to have the vaccination. However, if it is conditional on having some sort of mark, great care will be needed in assessing the appropriateness, in light of God’s guidance on the subject. (see Revelation 13:16-18).”

3rd GOD-INCIDENCE

Also, on Friday my phone alerted me to a YouTube video prophet Tomi Arayomi had issued the previous day in which he divulges a dream about lockdown of markets relating to the implantation of radio-frequency identification (RFID) micro-chips. He also brings an important prophetic word for the Church in these days.
In my humble opinion this video is essential viewing! It is most important that we know about such matters because they are directly relevant to End-Times and clearly indicate we’re now there..!!

No wonder I’m ‘God-smacked’ over what the Lord brought to my attention 7 days ago!

“By the mouth of two or three witnesses the matter shall be established” (Deuteronomy 19:15)

‘Two or three prophets should speak, and the others should weigh carefully what is said’ (1 Corinthinans 14:29)

End-Times Briefing 12: an overview of the Book of Revelation

Briefing 11’s Introduction to the Book of Revelation draws to a close by its author, Neil Mackereth, stating “Apocalyptic works seek to inform the reader about aspects of an End-Times drama. The grand climax of the Bible is imminent — that is to say, it could happen at any moment…”  He reminds us, “The Bible explains that two absolute powers or principles operate in the universe…In the book of Revelation (and the whole Bible), God himself is the ultimate source of all that is good; Satan and his followers refuse to submit to God and are the ultimate source of evil. This ethical dichotomy underlies the conflict within the book of Revelation”.:

OVERVIEW OF THE BOOK OF REVELATION

The Prologue provides essential information for understanding the meaning and structure of the Book of Revelation. “The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place; he made it known by sending his angel to his servant John, who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw.” (Rev. 1:1–2).

Apostle John conveys to his first-century readers the unveiling of Jesus. It’s something like the showing of a video of a Monarch and his court. The Book of Revelation is written for Christians who understand the language of a faith unique to Christian experience. But given the complexity of the metaphors and images, even “insiders” have difficulty understanding Revelation. However, anyone can grasp the basic message: Jesus is going to return to earth, overthrow Satan’s evil empire, reward his faithful followers, punish those who reject his Lordship, and create a new heaven and a new earth. End-Times Briefing 11: an intro’ to the Book of Revelation

It’s now time to expand upon Briefing 3’s listing of Signs from the Gospel accounts and Paul’s letters by considering ‘The Apocalypse’, as in the annexures to Neil Mackereth’s paper dated 21st May: Simplicity.  First, recall Apostle John’s opening remarks on its awesome origin, along with benediction (Young’s Literal Translation – in Greek here):

A revelation of Jesus Christ, that God gave to him, to shew to his servants what things it behoveth to come to pass quickly; and he did signify [it], having sent through his messenger to his servant John, who did testify the word of God, and the testimony of Jesus Christ, as many things also as he did see. Happy is he who is reading, and those hearing, the words of the prophecy, and keeping the things written in it — for the time is nigh!

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE BOOK OF REVELATION

The challenge in introducing Revelation to a new audience, or to infrequent readers of the book, is twofold: how do we make sense of this strange book; and how do we overcome longstanding antipathy to it, which, unfortunately, is often reinforced by those who should be explaining its message. I want to describe what apocalyptic literature is and to provide a basic overview of what Revelation is about.

The Bible, at its opening, quickly moves to the fall of man and the success of Satan. Then follows God’s sovereign selection of His chosen people Israel, the story of their triumphs, failures, trials and tribulations up to the first coming of Christ.  The New Testament describes Jesus’ life and role as Redeemer King, His death, resurrection and ascension to heaven.  At the close of the Bible, Jesus returns, Satan is overthrown and his followers are defeated.  Without the Book of Revelation, the story would be incomplete.

First, I believe it is essential to consider what the writer’s mindset might have been, if we are to have any hope of untangling and understanding the book’s mysteries. Continue reading

End-Times Briefing 10 cont’d: key signs and prophecies

We continue Annex A to Simplicity and examine some items in earlier Briefings:

KEY END-TIME (or SECOND ADVENT) SIGNS and PROPHECIES

An awareness of End-Time signs will help us to see if any world events, as they unfold in the weeks, months and years ahead, can honestly be described as fulfilling Biblical prophecy. Analysis of world events in relation to prophecy requires care and integrity, both to ensure genuine spiritual significance, and to avoid “false news”, conspiracy theories and the pronouncements of false prophets. It will be exceedingly hard to convince a sceptical world that prophecy is being fulfilled!

Some prophecies in the Bible seem particularly significant, in light of current world events, especially in the Middle-East. The following prophecies are worth bearing in mind, especially by those who are intentional about marrying historic prophecies with contemporary occurrences. They are, in short, signs of the End-Times: Continue reading

End-Times Briefing 10: the centre line – where are we now?

Annex A to Neil Mackereth’s paper Simplicity goes deeper into Matthew 24 signs than earlier Briefings 2: the ‘When?’ and 3: the ‘What?’ of Watching [cross-references to the book of Daniel are mine]:

1 Then Jesus went out and departed from the temple, and His disciples came up to show Him the buildings of the temple. 2 And Jesus said to them, “Do you not see all these things? Assuredly, I say to you, not one stone shall be left here upon another, that shall not be thrown down.”

THE CENTRE LINE OF END-TIME PROPHECY – WHERE ARE WE NOW?

At the start of Matthew 24 the disciples are seeking Jesus’ acknowledgement that the Temple is a beautiful building.  They were shocked by His response, that the Temple would be utterly destroyed, not one stone left on another.  This startling prophetic statement leads them to ask two very significant questions:

“When will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” (Jesus responds to this as two questions, the second having two parts)

Before answering these questions, Jesus warns the disciples against being deceived by people falsely claiming to be Christ. This thread of potential deception by false prophets continues throughout the chapter.  Continue reading

Simplicity of the Gospel and in Evangelism and in End-Times – Neil Mackereth

I’m grateful to my good friend Neil Mackereth for this paper. I’ve known him since his stimulating summer-time evening courses several years ago in Winchester Vineyard Church. The appendices to this will follow in my series of End-Times Briefings.

SIMPLICITY

Jesus said: “But I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all men to myself.” John 12:32 NIV (other versions say “I, if I be lifted up ……..”)

And: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” Matt 18:3 NIV

“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” 2 Cor 11:3 KJV

Introduction

The Lord has been laying on my heart the need for simplicity. I have felt a growing urgency for clarity and, in particular, the avoidance of theological obfuscation with words such as ‘theological obfuscation’!

First, I am convinced that we stand on the threshold of an unprecedented outpouring of the Spirit. The associated revival will tax our mental and physical resources – we should be preparing now. Our Gospel message to enquiring non-believers needs to be simple and unmistakable.

Secondly, I feel called to express in plain English the End-Times timeline and why we need to re-engage with those parts of the Bible that Satan has sought to sideline. I see the two stages as closely linked: a mighty revival followed by a rapid advancement of God’s End-Time plan.

End-Times Briefing 9 cont’d: the deep significance of Hourglass & End-times Harvest dream

A couple of hours ago Veronika published this from our dear brother:

“Today I bring yet another striking, in-depth interpretation to the dream I submitted to you all yesterday…my good friend and co-labourer Prophet Abel Praise submits some revelation for the purposes of prayer. ENJOY!!!”

DREAM INTERPRETATION…; “THE GOLDEN REVOLVING DOOR OF THE AGES AND OF ETERNAL DESTINY…AND THE HOUR GLASS OF THE END-TIME HARVEST…!!

‘Oh such great honor that The LORD grants us eyes to see and pours out HIS Spirit that we may discern what The Spirit Of The LORD is saying that we may know how to march in this hour.

‘The profound calling this prophetic dream brings us at this time is a call to contend for; recover; and administer the time-gates; or better put; the prayer-watches assigned to us in this hour; as that is how we will effectively partner with The LORD in birthing in time and eternity; being the earth and the heavens under the jurisdictions we are assigned in this hour; the predestined counsels of great awakening; revivals, victories harvest and advance into territories; the Kingdom is destined to make in this season. End-Times Briefing 9: Hourglass of End-time harvest – Veronica West

Late yesterday afternoon Veronika posted this on her ministry Facebook. Upon reading it Neil Mackereth, author of SIGNS: The Significance of Bible Prophecy reacted,

“That is very powerful indeed…I also had clear direction that the time of allowing the wheat and the tares to grow together is about to end – the harvest of separation is about to begin.”

I reminded him of my hearing “This is ALL about to be fulfilled!” upon opening my Bible to re-read Matthew 13’s parable of the wheat and tares harvest – see Briefing 1, Why? and The End-game Is Now In Play (we were soon to become good friends).

Here’s Veronika’s Facebook version and this published on His Kingdom Prophecy:

AN URGENCY OF TIME; THE GOLDEN REVOLVING DOOR OF THE AGES and of ETERNAL DESTINY — THE HOURGLASS of the END-TIME HARVEST!

Last night I had a powerful dream that I would like to share for the purpose of Prayer.

This dream was incredibly complex and so I will do my best to describe what I saw, heard and felt in the dream. So please bare with me as I try to share and interpret what I saw, and what I believe The LORD is revealing.

As I woke from the dream in the early hours of the morning, I immediately began to draw what I saw in the dream (see pictures below). Continue reading

End-Times Briefing 8: Daniel and ‘The Wonderful Numberer’ Jesus Christ

Now we examine one of the sparkling gems, a radiant diamond, found in the treasure trove of Unlocking the Biblical Watch of Messiah’s Return. First a brief recap:

The Invisible Hand, Victor Dunstan (Megiddo Press 1984)

As at the close of Briefing 7, Victor Dunstan’s reference to three dates, or Time periods of differing length, given in the 12th chapter of Daniel point to 1917, 1948 and 1992, is derived from Dr Grattan Guinness’ mathematical work.  Subsequently, three ‘interlude’ posts tell how Jonathan R Hill has taken that work further in two books. Amongst a veritable plethora of biblical topics and scriptures he examines in-depth the role of ‘The Wonderful Numberer’ – Daniel’s chief supra-natural informant.

In his ‘Introduction’ to Unlocking the Biblical Watch of Messiah’s Return, Jonathan echoes Chuck Missler’s frustration, as quoted in Briefing 5, by noting:

“So many in the Body of Christ are ambivalent towards the Lord’s mandate to watch, but the Lord wants the church to awake! Messiah’s words to the sleeping Peter are the Lord’s words to His living body, who are currently on the earth at the end of this age: “Could you not watch with Me for one hour?” (Matt 26:40 NKJV)

This is followed by, and I’m grateful to Jonathan for his kindly permitting publication (emphases mine):

‘DANIEL’S VISIONS

‘Daniel was privileged to receive extraordinary visions which were sealed until the ‘time of the end’ when many will run ‘to and fro’ and knowledge will increase. An apt description of our current world when knowledge and data are readily available via the internet.

Daniel 12:4 (NKJV) – “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”

‘The prophetic words of the Book of Daniel were sealed until the ‘time of the end’ – confirmed again later in the same chapter (Daniel 12):

Daniel 12:9-10 (NKJV) – And he said, “Go your way, Daniel, for the words are closed up and sealed ’til the time of the end”. 10 Many shall be purified, made white, and refined, but the wicked shall do wickedly; and none of the wicked shall understand, but the wise shall understand.

‘Daniel’s ‘time of the end’ is now.

‘Earlier in the Book of Daniel a ‘when’ question was asked, regarding the desolation of the Temple in Jerusalem. The question was asked to someone called the ‘Wonderful Numberer’ [19]. The questioner (the ‘holy one’) clearly knew that the ‘Wonderful Numberer’ had the answer to the ‘when’ question.

Daniel 8:13 (YLT) – “And I hear a certain holy one speaking, and a certain holy one said to the wonderful numberer who is speaking: ‘Until when [is] the vision of the continual [sacrifice], and of the transgression, an astonishment, to make both sanctuary and host a treading down?’”

‘As will be seen [20], the wisdom of the ‘Wonderful Numberer’, who answered the ‘when’ question, is part of the ‘understanding’ sealed until the ‘time of the end’, when the ‘wise’ will understand. Moreover, the ‘Wonderful Numberer’ will be shown to hold the ‘Key of David’ [21] – the significance of which will be examined in detail [22].’

Notes:

‘[19] The Hebrew word for ‘Wonderful Numberer’ in Daniel 8:13 is ‘Palmoni’ (Hebrew ‘לפלמוני’ – Strong’s number 6422) and is only found once in all scripture . It is a ‘contracted’ word and contains the elements of two Hebrew words. The first is ‘pele’ and the other is ‘ma-na’. The Hebrew word ‘pele’ means ‘wonderful’ (see Isaiah 9:6) and the word ‘ma-na’ means ‘numbered’ (see Daniel 5:25-26). So, this contracted Hebrew word ‘Palmoni’ literally means ‘Wonderful Numberer’”. Taken from F.C. Gilbert’s book, Practical Lessons for the Church of Today, pp. 606-608, published by The Review in 1902.

Gill’s Exposition states: ‘another angel said to him that spoke, whose name is unknown, only called such a one, or ‘Palmoni’, which some render ‘the wonderful numberer’ or ‘the numberer of secrets’ or ‘that has all secrets numbered’; and apply it to Christ, whose name is ‘Pele’, wonderful; the eternal Word of God, that is in the bosom of the Father, and knows all secrets, and the number of times and seasons, how long they will last; what created angels know not, he does; and therefore they apply to him for instruction and knowledge in hidden things.

The ‘Wonderful Numberer’ is found in few translations yet many commentaries acknowledge this translation including Albert Barne’s Commentary, John Gill’s Exposition, Geneva Study Bible, Calvin’s Commentary, John Trapp’s Complete Commentary, Matthew Poole’s Annotations, Treasury of Scripture Knowledge and E. W. Bullinger’s Companion Notes. (See StudyLight.org Verse-by-Verse Bible Commentary Daniel 8:13)

‘[20] See chapter ‘Numbers, Triangles and Pyramids in Scripture’ and section ‘The ‘Wonderful Numberer’ as the Seventh Pyramid’.

‘[21] See chapter ‘Tools of the Watch’ and section ‘The Key of David’.

Amusing ‘musical-jigsaw’ of End-Time Briefings

Can’t avoid chuckling whenever the Lord’s playing a game with me. Mulling over what I think He’s showing me about my End-Times Briefings, I recalled a prophecy given me in 2009 that, “An impartation like Daniel had is going to come into you and you will start understanding the ‘riddles’ of the Lord in a different way…”

In returning to the next Briefing (No. 8) I’d thought of bringing its originally drafted ‘end’ to its beginning, thereby wrapping up the previous Briefing on my first ‘jigsaw pieces’. Hoping to schedule the new Briefing for weekend reading, I ‘closed’ it last Thursday with:

“Perhaps the above copy pages will whet your appetite to learn more about watching for Jesus’ Return.” BUT I got nudged to continue: “Last year my wife was touched by the Holy Spirit and heard,It’s sooner than you think!” (see Back to Bible Basics: Direct Word on Jesus’ Return and Vision of Iran).

LOL! That reference to Iran takes us full-circle back to start of the ‘Invisible Jigsaw’ over 30 years ago, as told in Briefing 7. So I’d thought of making those remarks a postscript. BUT next, the ‘morning-after high’ brought an insight as I checked and tagged pages in Jonathan Hill’s latest book!

Astonished, I found one CONFIRMS the next Briefing’s number, and thus their sequence!

The full content of this series hadn’t been thought out in any depth but simply published as and when possible. In fact, I’d wanted to publish Briefing 8 in its own right over six months ago!

Chronologically from a personal viewpoint, the whole series would have a very different sequence, viz: No. 7, 5, 1, 2, 3, 8+, 6 and with 4 omitted as it was popped in on a whim! So Christopher Wickland’s vision of the Sign in the Sun would come last! However, what Jesus taught should be foundational and thus began this current series of Briefings.

Moreover, it dawned upon me that one cycle of 7 Briefings has been completed, with an intermission for a mathematical preparation for the next cycle. Thus, we’re starting the next octave as though going up a level, somewhat like musical notes: A, B, C, D, E, F, G (see Wikipedia image). Also likewise, this new cycle begins with examining a particular scripture in some depth.

Furthermore, we could regard the two cycles of Briefings like the staves for the bass and treble clefs in musical scores, our ‘interlude’ on mathematics the space in between them! Or better still: this post is the ‘Middle C’, which is the note that hovers between the two staves.

Bringing prophetic pieces together. How many? 8!

Next, we consider that maybe it wasn’t a ‘star’ or astronomical sign that sent ‘wise men from the East’ looking for a baby born in Bethlehem 2,000 years ago, but a rare wisdom and visions bequeathed by the Hebrew prophet Daniel to a school of prophets??

Unlocking the Biblical Watch of Messiah’s Return – Jonathan R. Hill

In our considering principles behind use of numbers and associated basic mathematics in the Bible, my catching up with the following news is timely – I’m pleased to learn that author Jonathan R. Hill is finding his researches also connect into Time!

Here’s the proofreaders’ clear recommendation circulated for Jonathan’s new book:

‘In this new book Jonathan reinforces the straightforward, but profound, mathematical principles of triangular and pyramid numbers and how they help reveal and reinforce wonderful truths in the Bible, using the numerical equivalents for the letters in each word in the original Hebrew and Greek texts of the Bible.

‘These principles were initially studied in his first book (on The Sign Miracles of John – RB: as herein) and the results were fascinating, revealing important concepts that are relevant for both the Church and Israel in these end times. They now lay a strong foundation for this ‘Biblical Watch for Messiah’s Return’. These numbers are used in the studies themselves and help us to understand the types involved, and also the time periods that connect the important events that are highlighted.

‘Also included in this book are details of and revelations about the Jubilee Cycle, the important and ‘high’ numbers that there are in Scripture (like ‘120’), the time of day of Christ’s resurrection, the reason Anna had to wait 84 years to see the Messiah, the importance of the Balfour Declaration in 1917, the Armistice in 1918, the World Economic Conference of 1933, the 9/11 attack in 2001, the rescue of the Chilean miners in 2010 and even Brexit!

‘Jonathan also shows how the ‘Key of David’ gives ‘understanding’ in God’s presence and what ‘leaven’ means for the Church today.

‘It truly is a book which explores and explains the concepts that are needed to study, and ‘watch’ for, Messiah’s (Jesus’) return at the Rapture for his Bride, the Church.

‘This book is, in my opinion, the most important Christian book for the Church in the first quarter of this 21st Century.

‘May I encourage you to order a copy (and also the previous one on the Sign Miracles, if you’ve not already got it) and be blessed?

‘Jonathan’s website JR Hill – Books has links to buy both books and also his ‘New Watch Events’ page.

‘I have read both books out loud to Pat (as we have been proof-reading them). We have found that reading them to each other has really helped us both to understand the truths and the concepts they contain, and they truly leave us with hope for the future.

‘We commend this teaching to you.

‘Many blessings’

‘Keith and Pat’

Next, we’ll look at Daniel’s source and the identity of his ‘Wonderful Numberer’.
