In wake of London attack, President Trump should deliver major address to define “radical Islamic terrorism,” the ISIS threat, and his vision for victory.

Joel Rosenberg offers an opinion and insights from his on-the-ground experience…

Coalition-AntiISIS-foreignministers

(Dallas, Texas) — Yesterday, the horrific attack in London underscored yet again the threat radical Islamic terrorism poses to our allies. We mourn for those murdered, killed and traumatized, and we pray for the Lord to comfort and heal.

The attack on our British ally was also a stark reminder that such terror could strike inside the U.S. homeland without warning if our leaders do not aggressively improve defensive measures to protect the American people, and launch far more aggressive offensive measures to decisively defeat the Islamic State and other militant Islamist groups.

UPDATE: ISIS has just claimed responsibility for the attack. “The perpetrator of the attacks yesterday in front of the British parliament in London is an Islamic State soldier and he carried out the operation in response to calls to target citizens of the coalition,” says the Amaq news agency, the ISIS press channel.

Prophetic Scripture Update #2: Ezekiel 38 – Gog, Magog tensions on the Golan

Developments over the weekend in Iranian and Russian activity behind the Hezbollah’s preparations to launch an attack against Israel’s northern borders with Lebanon and Syria, together with Israel’s strikes against sophisticated weapons factories and arsenals there, are building up to such an extent that Israel is now on military alert.

Yesterday’s sequential headlines on Koenig’s World Watch Daily read as follows:

  • Israel-Syria clash: with missile fire Assad is changing rules of the game
  • How Russia is turning Syria into a major naval base for nuclear warships
  • Syrian UN envoy: Putin sent messages to Israel its freedom to act in Syria is over
  • Syrian president Assad: we’re counting on Russia to prevent a conflict with Israel
  • ‘Hezbollah is preparing for war’.

Finer details may be read in Debkafile ‘exclusive reports’, which include intelligence on Iran’s involvement at top military level:

  • Israeli-Russian clash over Hizbollah’s Golan grab
  • Israeli drone crashes. Russia fails to de-escalate.
Ezekiel: Gog & Magog

The Gog and Magog war against Israel is described in chapters 38 and 39 of the Book of Ezekiel. The prophet received a word from the Lord to ‘set his face’ against Gog, leader of a coalition of evil nations north of Israel and which include Persia/Iran. Most Bible scholars regard those named peoples as coming from the land between and north of the Black and Caspian Seas. ie modern Russia. The Lord  has a purpose for this battle, viz:

“So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel. I will not let them profane My name anymore – Then the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.” (Ezek 38:7 NKJV)

This battle also features in Revelation 20:7-10 as precursor to the battle of Armageddon and satan’s doom in the fiery lake.

In this connection I’ve yet to blog about Netanyahu’s 2016 Christmas message to Christians relating to Romans 11

trump-bibi-whpence-netanyahu(Central Israel) — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has been warmly greeted and embraced this week by President Trump, Vice President Mike Pence, and by the Congressional leadership of both parties.

As I told Laura Ingraham on her radio show today, the contrast between what we’re seeing unfold with the Obama years could not be more vivid — “it’s night and day.”

Understandably, the five critical questions I raised on this blog yesterday remain to be answered. It will take some time for the Trump team to define its Mideast policies in all these key areas in granular detail, and for Trump and Netanyahu to come to agreement on how best to work together vis-à-vis Iran, ISIS, the Palestinians, and the extraordinary open door that currently exists with moderate Sunni Arab regimes in the region.

But one thing is crystal clear: U.S.-Israeli relations are stronger and healthier than they have ever been. May our enemies take notice.

President Trump praises Jordan’s King Abdullah & invites him back to D.C. for a summit. The King delivers a powerful speech at the National Prayer Breakfast.

Very important news, especially in view of what Revd John Kilpatrick kept hearing from the Lord: “Jordan, the land bordering Israel.” In case you missed it: in the lengthy midnight message for prophetic words for 2017 and beyond John states many Muslims will receive the Gospel message and the Lord will unexpectedly shake and redefine many Muslim nations and their leadership structures. Jordan itself will be visited and become a sanctuary country and an important instrument in His hand.

trump-kingofjordan(Washington, D.C.) — Never have the American people needed a solid strategic alliance with friendly Sunni Arab Muslims more than it does right now.

Never has a new American President and his administration had more to gain from carefully listening to — and truly partnering with — a Middle Eastern leader who shares our goals and actually wants to help us.

At a time when the Assad government is destroying Syria, when the Islamic State is slaughtering Muslims and waging genocide against Christians, and when the ayatollahs of Iran are hell-bent on becoming the dominant military power in the Middle East, we urgently need Muslim friends who oppose Radical Islam and Apocalyptic Islam and have the courage to stand against the forces of violent extremism.

Update on Putin-Trump halt of Iranian activity in Syria

Further to last week’s breaking news, in another exclusive report Russia Freezes Syrian, Iranian Military Movements from Debkafile published yesterday, we gain an insight into the direct connection of the US travel ban on seven Muslim countries and Presidents Trump and Putin’s negotiations. VERY interesting ramifications.:

‘..debkafile’s military and intelligence sources report that the order banned the opening of new battlefronts anywhere in Syria and the movement of Syrian air force units between bases. This order has been obeyed to date.

‘The ban came from Moscow to prevent military reprisals against the Putin-Trump deal for Syria…

‘Moscow has never resorted to extreme action of this kind in previous Russian military interventions in Middle East lands.

‘The decision was taken shortly after the Kremlin was notified that US President Donald Trump had agreed to join forces with President Vladimir Putin in Syria.

‘Since then, the Trump administration has kept all dealings with Moscow over Syria under a cloak of secrecy, including the outcome of President Trump’s first phone conversation with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin. All other concerned parties, such as Israel, have been left groping in the dark about what happens next.

‘The Russian standstill order in Syria came shortly before the US presidential decree that barred Iranians from entering the United States (along with the nationals of six other terror-prone Muslim countries)

‘Iran can no longer doubt that the two powers, America and Russia, have ganged up to push the Islamic Republic out of their way. Trepidation in Tehran was articulated on Monday, Jan. 30, at a convention staged in the Iranian capital to celebrate 515 years of Iranian-Russian relations, an anniversary that would not normally be marked by a special event….’

Breaking news: Iran ousted from Syria in Trump-Putin safe zones deal

Exclusive DebkaFile report ‘Trump-Putin Safe Zones Deal Ousts Iran From Syria’ opens as follows:

syria-per-debka

‘Syria stands on the threshold of dramatic changes that will directly impact on the strategic and military situation along the Syrian borders with Israel and Jordan, debkafile reports exclusively. They derive from a deal struck this week by US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin to establish US, Russian and Turkish security zones in Syria. This scheme will transfer military control of the country to those three powers. Each of them will be responsible for a zone whose borders will be defined and agreed upon by Washington, Moscow and Ankara.

‘As part of this arrangement, all forces from the Iranian military, the pro-Iranian Shiite militias and Hizballah will be required to leave Syria…’ continue reading.

Koenig WWD Breaking News: Obama & Kerry stab Netanyahu in back

As reported by William Koenig in last night’s Eye View from the White House :

‘Everything John Kerry did in the Israeli-Palestinian peace efforts only worsened things. He said if Israel didn’t make peace with the Palestinians they could face even greater terrorism, the possibility of major boycotts, being considered an apartheid state and risk being further isolated in the international community. All this was designed to pressure Israel while at the same time more proof of his ineptness.

‘Today’s decision was the final straw in Obama and Kerry’s “knife in the back” not a “we have your back” decision. It was also designed to make things more difficult for Trump’s plans in Israel.

‘Obama’s Ambassador to the UN Samantha Powers used previous positions on the settlements going as far back as Reagan, and every U.S. President since him to speak against the settlements. It was a very crafty message to the UN Security Council. She spoke out of “both sides of her mouth”.’

Update on geopolitical status of Syria vis-a-vis USA vs Russia

A very brief note on news and background report on the geopolitical situation behind the horrendously severe conflict in Syria.:

Interviewed by ITV News PM Theresa May reminded everyone the blame lies with the Assad regime and president personally, and she’s deeply pessimistic of any solution in the near future.

The dreadful attack against an aid convoy on 19th Sept could have been in some way connected to breakdown in communications not only between Russia and USA but also with US command over sharing of intelligence, as exclusively reported by Debka in US, Russia on brink of military showdown. Three weeks earlier they’d reported upon the ‘disconnect’ in Obama hands Syria over to Russia.

Over the weekend Bill Koenig’s World Watch Daily covered headlines on the deteriorating  diplomatic situation:

The Drums of War: An Exchange of Insults

Noteworthy that this comes almost exactly a year after a lightning strike on a crane that fell on the Meccan Grand mosque on the 14th anniversary of 9/11 attack and killed/injured hundreds (Why Sept 2015 is Special: Update 2 – Islam refers). It was assumed to be an ‘act of God’!!

THE FOUR SIGNPOSTS

The year-long saber-rattling rhetoric between Iran and Saudi Arabia was raised another notch this past week.  This is another thread of activity prior to the Second Signpost  or any war – making enemies out of your neighbors.

I wrote in an earlier post about the Hajj stampede in which 400 Iranians died about a year ago. Iran and Saudi Arabia were always at odds, but the Hajj stampede gave Iran an excuse to make an outright enemy out of Saudi Arabia.  In January 2016 Saudi Arabia executed a number of Shia Muslims and then the Saudi embassy in Tehran was attacked.

And now this past week there was another exchange of rhetoric between Iran and the Saudis. This time the exchange was of outright insults, and not just accusations. Supreme leader Khamenei accused Saudi Arabia yet again of mismanaging the Hajj in Mecca. Then came the following slow-motion exchange between Al-Sheikh

The Iran Nuclear Deal “Looks Worse and Worse by the Day”

More bad fruit from Obama’s furtive back-channel dealings with Iran, as reported in email 18 May 2009, plus their current harassment of US naval vessels in Persian Gulf. ADD to that leaked intelligence of Iran’s covert war in Syria run from ‘The Glasshouse’ near Damascus (Daily Mail). AND let’s never forget Iran’s 30 years-long ambition to attack Jerusalem, which is what stimulated my interest in End-Times! (See The Invisible Hand re-appears (2013) and again in 2015 for peculiar ‘coincidental’ way this fact pops up!) See Four ‘Signposts’ of the Books of Daniel and The Apocalypse for introduction to Mark Davidson’s thesis.

THE FOUR SIGNPOSTS

The quote above was spoken by retired Army General Michael Flynn; this reported by a Reuters story.

According to a report replaced by Washington think tank, the Institute for Science and International Security, the Obama administration and other European governments acted in secret to let Iran keep more of its enriched uranium so that sanctions could be lifted on time. The Obama administration (of course) denies this.

Specifically the report says,

“Among the exemptions outlined in the think tank’s report were two that allowed Iran to exceed the deal’s limits on how much low-enriched uranium (LEU) it can keep in its nuclear facilities, the report said. LEU can be purified into highly enriched, weapons-grade uranium.”

The Reuters article also states,

“It’s now clear President Obama gave away the store to secure a weak agreement that is full of loopholes.”

If the nuclear deal was bad before, how much worse…

News from Canon Andrew White’s team in Jordan

Andrew WhiteA different picture to Joel Rosenberg’s report on Jordan arising from geo-political differences was to follow in my email in-tray from Foundation for Relief and Reconciliation in the Middle-East. Founded by Canon Andrew White – ‘The Vicar of Baghdad’ – FRRME helps the victims of and refugees from persecution in Iraq, Jordan, Palestine and Israel.

The persecuted Christians of Iraq – Yasser’s story

“We met with them (the Christians) in the presence of a representative of the Caliph al-Baghdadi. He offered the chance for them to convert to Islam. If you don’t accept this, you can pay non-Muslim tax (Jizya), according to the Quran. If you don’t accept this, there is nothing left between us but killing and fighting.” Abu Abdula (Islamic State Judge), Raqqa.

‘Below is the testimony of an Iraqi Christian from Baghdad. His story is typical of the many people we are helping – followers of Yesua who have been terrorised and displaced by sectarian violence.

Yasser’s Story

Yasser per FRRME‘Yasser was born and lived in Baghdad. He worked as a welder, a job he did to provide for his two small children. In July 2014 an anonymous note arrived at Yasser’s place of work, followed by a phone call. Both made clear that Yasser and his family were not safe….Continue reading about Yasser’s move to Jordan by clicking here or on his photo

Trip report from Amman: I’m so encouraged by what I see God doing in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. Here’s why.

Such good news on the Lord blessing Jordan – many thanks Joel.

Joel C. Rosenberg's Blog

JETS-JoelJETS-graduationOn Sunday night, I returned home to Israel from a very encouraging four-day trip to Jordan.

The purpose was to visit the Jordan Evangelical Theological Seminary (JETS), at the invitation of its founder and president, Dr. Imad Shehadeh. A Jordanian national, Imad is a remarkable Arab believer who graduated from Dallas Theological Seminary (and currently serves on the board of DTS). He has a deep passion for studying and teaching the Word of God and training others to “preach the Word, in season and at out” and it’s clear that the Lord has truly given favor to this man despite enormous challenges he and his wife have faced over the years.

Until this trip, Imad and I had never met, only communicated by phone and email. So I was enormously grateful for his invitation and eager to get to know him and his colleagues.

In many ways, this trip was an ideal complement…
