Pure breathtaking mathematical beauty

This post by Joseph ‘coincided’ with the mathematical analysis of Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1, as reported in my previous post (which is better read first).:

Rationalising The Universe

My personal silence is broken; I must apologise for the low level of activity on my part I have been very busy finishing up the first year of my second degree – this is now behind me and I am on to the second year of my second degree! That is not easy to read.

You may have noticed that I now have a co-author Mekhi; who I reblogged some posts from previously. I am very excited to now be part of a team (if not a little intimidated by the quality of the team-member!); hopefully in the coming months you will be getting more regularity from Rationalising the Universe. After all, if something isn’t worth doing habitually it isn’t worth doing at all.

Today I write a short post about something close to my own heart; and to so many others in the field of mathematics which is the…

Astonishing mathematics within Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 – the conjunction of Creation, Gospel and science?

In mid-September a mathematician was writing about his favourite formula whilst I was reading about the very same thing buried deep in holy writ!

A multitude of times I’ve noticed crazy coincidences cropping up to give confirmation and more instruction upon certain topics, as though the Lord’s got His hammer and hitting me between the eyes to get my attention!  This ‘God-incident‘ is the most extraordinary so far coming almost ‘simultaneously’ from both a secular, scientific standpoint and two fundamental scriptures.

An anniversary-cum-birthday holiday brought me opportunity to read a book at long last after a non-stop busy Summer.  So I grabbed a couple from my pile, one of which, Unlocking the Sign Miracles of John by Jonathan R Hill, seemed on the lines of what I’d heard John Kilpatrick saying about the ‘sign miracles’ in the Gospel of John.

Flicking through it I noticed many references to the ‘Consummation of the Age’ (including chapter on its ‘mathematical foundation’), the ‘end-time’ prophetical significance of those miracles, as well as typologies, numerical aspects of Hebrew and Greek alphabets and calculations of time periods. Now, I take the last with a pinch of salt as they need careful checking, but am willing to consider and weigh new, even radical, concepts that don’t contradict scripture.

jr-hill-unlocking_39-2The book is based upon the work of Arthur Ware in The Restored Vision and quotes from Dr Grattan Guinness’ Light For The Last Days (an author used in The Invisible Hand, so influential upon me, as in my “Welcome”). I’m aware of the ancient practice of substituting letters of original Hebrew and Greek alphabets with their ordinal (sequential) value and standard designated values known as gematria, which Hill uses. His book is annotated with cross-references throughout.

Without further ado, here are some introductory points and copies of a few specific pages to read carefully (enlarge for ease of reading):

But God does not stop with types, as each letter of the two original languages of the Bible, Hebrew for the Old Testament and Greek for the New Testament, encapsulates a numerical value. Words and collections of sequential have a mathematical identity which therefore extends the surface narrative. Any agreement between this underlying numerical pattern and the surface meaning or doctrine, affixes considerable authenticity to the text…Only a personable supernatural God could inject such intrinsic connectivity within a book written in two languages with different alphabets, by multiple authors and across two millennia(emphasis mine).

‘The only reference in the (NT) to individual letters is actually in John’s Gospel – ‘And the Jews marveled, saying, “How does this man know letters, having never studied?” John 7:15 NKJV (page 20).

‘The existence of a relationship between the surface meaning of the text, the type and the underlying mathematical value has long been known in Jewish Rabbinic tradition’ – see Wiki Pardes (Jewish Exegesis) (page 160).

Page 38: ‘…Before returning to the details of the progression of seven days, one more scientific digression is to be considered. A simple ratio of letters to words in Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1 yields the following fundamental mathematical constants seen in figure 4’ – continues below (NB: especially note first footnote):

Mathematician Joseph’s Jaw-dropping Email

Upon returning home on the closing days of September and opening the accumulation of email, I soon read a notification of new post sent the preceding weekend from Joseph at Rationalising the Universe, the early part of which reads:

‘Today I write a short post about something close to my own heart; and to so many others in the field of mathematics which is the notion of mathematical beauty. That is, deriving aesthetic satisfaction from mathematical work (which in my opinion is on a level far above any painting, sculpture or photograph can ever achieve). There is no one defined notion of mathematical beauty; as with the more regular notion of of human beauty there often is a general consensus but it is down to personal taste. Here I summarise some areas in which mathematics in my eyes is at its most beautiful.

‘In this area I take a commonly cited example of Euler’s formula, which was showered with praise by the late great Richard Feynman, who used to refer to the formula as “our jewel”. Let me first present the general version of the formula…’

(He explains formula linking trigonometrical with the exponential form and when ‘x’ takes the value of ‘pi’ it becomes the Euler’s identity, as in Hill’s book above):

‘That is incredibly powerful mathematics summarised in a short, elegant looking formula which revels so much. To me this is incredibly beautiful…’

I was left utterly ‘God-smacked’!  My next post reveals what I found when opening the full post from Joseph.

More of this book has yet to be checked but I offer this account for your information and to the credit of Jonathan Hill and his sources for their immense labour, for which I am indeed grateful.

Notes:
  1. The theorem uses the five most important constants of mathematics: zero (0), unity (1), ‘e’, the exponential number describing growth and decay ‘e’, ‘pi’ the ratio of a circle’s diameter to its circumference, ‘i’ the basic imaginary number which, if it did exist, equals the square root of -1.
  2. Euler’s identity won a reader’s contest in Mathematical Intelligencer magazine in 2004 by a considerable margin for “the most beautiful theorem in mathematics”.

A deep insight from Hebrew: ‘God’s Signature’

This extract from my post of 18 June 2014 Holy Treasure of ‘The Open Door’ sets the scene for where science and scripture may meet in mathematics, which we shall cover next.:

God's Signature - coverThis year I’m dipping into an easy-to-read primer on Hebrew by Steve Maltz, God’s Signature, and any reference by me simply cannot do it justice. Steve’s explanations of the language’s essential contribution to the creation and meaning of scripture are just like being with a tour guide who drops gems of insights as we meander around famous sights. Starting from the premise that the Bible is God’s word to us, Steve promises to answer questions of who wrote it, how manuscript evidence can be traced, how errors are detected and who decided what material to put in the Bible, but first explains the important difference between the Hebrew and Greek mindsets.

That difference arises from the origins of the Hebrew language lying in pictographic symbols of the Proto-Canaanite alphabet, of which each symbol conveyed a defined visual meaning. From this developed the Phoenician-Old Hebrew form of geometrical shapes for those symbols, which eventually led to Biblical Hebrew letters.

To illustrate this concept Steve shows those alphabets’ characters for ‘shepherd’. Next he asks, why did God use Hebrew? In answering he shows those stages for the Hebrew for “word”, davar, which is composed of three consonants only – dvr – as shown below. Note the inclusion and use of dalet:

God's Signature - page 9Interesting? Surely an understatement!

The symbolical characters give such an obvious yet revelatory insight when we recall the Gospel according to John opens by describing Jesus as “The Word of God”, then tells of His coming into the world and the unique privilege He brought to those who would receive Him – the right to become children of God (verse 12).

Therefore, Jesus is the pathway, or entrance, into God’s mind, exactly as He states in John 14:6 above. (See original post for more on this concept.)

Of particular interest for our purposes is Steve’s examination of dalet itself:

God's Signature - page 32

The author goes on to state the root verb as dlh, or dala, meaning that which hangs down, or the idea of letting down or drawing up, as with a bucket in a well. Thus, for this comes the word for bucket, dly or daliy.  It seems so mundane but the beauty of Hebrew is it can have a spiritual application, for which Steve quotes Psalm 30:1 and Proverbs 20:5 use of dalah, viz:

I will exalt you, O LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths.

The purposes of a man’s heart are deep waters, but a man of understanding draws them out.

Also, Psalm 141:3 has a vivid way of using dalet to describe a mouth as “door of my lips” – Set a guard over my mouth O LORD; keep watch over the door of my lips.

daletAnd in Jeremiah 36:23, dalet is used for ‘columns’ in “four columns of the scroll”. In other words, as columns hang off a central spine or side of a manuscript, Steve points out that “the word dalet has been used for the simple reason we have something (the “columns”) hanging”.

Hence, the clear sense that there is a doorway of opportunity for us to go through this year. Have you sensed, or even seen it?

It’s time for serious disciples of the Lord, to approach the threshold and enter and break through into what He has for us.

Advice/Cautionary Note

Let’s reconsider some special points Jesus gave His disciples as ‘one who teaches with authority’, unlike religious leaders, from his extensive instruction known as ‘The Sermon on the Mount’ (Matthew chapters 5 to 7):

“Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.

“For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened…

…seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteous and all these things shall be added to you…

“I did not come to destroy (what’s written in the Law or the Prophets) but to fulfill…For I say to you, that unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees you will by no means enter the Kingdom of Heaven…

“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad the way that leads to destruction…Not everyone who says to me “Lord, Lord” shall enter the Kingdom, but he who does the will of My Father in Heaven…

“Therefore, whoever hears and does these sayings of Mine is like a wise man who built his house on the rock: and when the rains, floods and winds came upon it, it did not fall, for it was founded upon the rock…”

“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” (John 14:23 NKJV emphases added)

 Amen

Beauty in the brain: sleep, disease and family life

In view of our current focus on time, science and scripture this transcript is most timely in its reference to how a personal prophetic word from God greatly encouraged Anna to continue her scientific vocation. Thank you Lord.

Science and Belief

anna-twitter-pictureAnna Goodman is a neuroscientist, amateur artist, mother, and pastor’s wife. In today’s podcast (transcript below), I wanted to find out how all of those elements connected together in her life. Is there beauty in the brain? What can we find out from studying neurological disease? What ways has Anna found to fit family life and career together, and how do both of those aspects of life complement her faith and role in the church? The result is a fascinating mixture involving a lifelong love of discovery, a fascination with everything to do with the brain, a growing interest in child development, and the role of prophecy in everyday life.

I am at City Church in Cambridge with Dr Anna Goodman, who’s a neuroscientist from Cambridge University who is now full-time looking after two small boys, one of whom is currently running around the toddler group down below, but she…

A peculiar perspective on Creation – it’s ‘implausible’!

L O L !!

Click for link to New Scientist 27 Oct 2016 (NB replaces this screen)

Definition of the adjective ‘implausible’:
  • Collins Dictionary: ‘not plausible; provoking disbelief; unlikely’.
  • Oxford Dictionaries: ‘(of an argument or statement) not seeming reasonable or probable; failing to convince’.

Spotted the latest issue of this weekly at the newsagent’s and had to buy it. A month ago the New Scientist’s main feature ‘The Nature of (physical) Reality’ attempted to grapple with six problems to six principles and the possible fix of six solutions, a copy of which may be read here. I referred to its conclusion in closing the glossary to the Introduction to engaging and governing Time.

That conclusion points to scientists’ growing realisation that, “Energy and matter don’t matter – information is where it’s at”!  More specifically, the concept of ‘entanglement’ is dynamically handled by quantum theory at sub-atomic level and, thus by implication, may apply to the everyday macro and cosmic levels of physical existence.

A physical reality only??  NO!  It’s been a spiritual reality for at least a couple of millennia! As mentioned in recent posts, believers in the Lord Jesus Christ are ‘entangled’ with him and our heavenly Father.

Scientists’ claims beg the question (and many more).:

  • isn’t information pointless without any conscious intelligence being available to read and comprehend it?
  • how did random actions of inanimate matter and energy input that universal data within itself and living organisms??
  • how did the basic constituents of this unconscious universe start to generate, store and replicate such vitally important information???
  • or was it all encoded into matter at, or before, the theoretical Big-Bang????

In other words: it must have had a ‘blueprint’!  That is, it was designed that way! Which means there’s intelligence behind and making the information and, sooner or later, many more scientists will have no option but to take the concept of intelligent design a lot more seriously.

Eventually, they may catch up with the truths and deeper aspects of Holy Writ…

Informative reading at Rationalising the Universe:
  • an extended essay Joseph wrote in 2012: The Nature of Reality.
  • Why Skin A Cat At All? a useful discussion of quantum realities where Joseph opens his preference with: “Does reality contain information? Is information reality? I am rolling with the latter; it would appear that truth is nothing more than a set of propositions – information”.

The Timelessness of Jesus Christ, by Tim Shey

My thanks go to ‘high plains drifter’ Tim Shey somewhere out on The Road for this excellent contribution to a recent post, which warrants re-publishing in its own right.:

The Road blog cropped-neskuchnoye-field-1912

The Road – obedience is better than sacrifice

‘When I think on the word “saved” (as in, “I was saved twenty or thirty years ago” or “when were you saved?” and so on), as a Christian, it is probably an incorrect word or concept. To be saved implies the past. The Lord Jesus Christ is past, present and future. As a Christian, I abide in Christ right here, right now.

‘Let’s say someone surrendered their life to Christ a number of years ago. This is the BEGINNING of being connected with the timeless of Jesus Christ. As we take up our cross and die daily, our body and soul life are put to death, so that the spiritual life within us (Christ) grows stronger and stronger every day. As the passions of the body and soul life dies, time dies. Think of the sinful, physical body as shackled to time: the physical body is born on a certain date (time), it lives for 85 years (time) and then dies on a certain date (time).

‘There is a point in physical time when someone surrenders to timelessness—the Lord Jesus Christ. Worldly people and lukewarm Christians are still bound to time; spiritual Christians are timeless.

‘The power and beauty of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ is that that timeless event (it defied time and space) pierced human time and presented us with the possibility of living a life connected to timelessness and sinlessness (abiding in Christ)—if we act in faith and surrender our lives to Jesus Christ.

‘1 John 1:7: “But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.”

‘The above scripture absolutely implies, not some historical event (time), but the timelessness of Jesus Christ. To an unbeliever, the phrase “and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin” is totally insane: the death of Jesus Christ happened over two thousand years ago (time). To a Christian, what happened at Calvary is happening right here right now (timelessness). If we walk in the light (abide in Christ daily), the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses us (not cleansed us) from all sin.

‘Enoch walked with God and then God took him because (after many years of obeying the Lord through proper blood sacrifices [dying to self] and believing in the future Messiah) he walked in timelessness and eventually timelessness (God) took him. Enoch was no longer shackled by time.

‘Prophets are very timeless because the timeless Holy Ghost inspires them to speak of future events as if they are happening right here right now.

‘Time to stop writing.’

Timing of listening to ‘Time’

G’day readers.

How did your day start as you got under way?  Do you notice time seems to have different speeds when you’re getting up? Sometimes I have to get a move on to beat the clock and be ready at a specific time. One day ‘hare’ minute-hand scoots along as tho’ haring around the ‘milestone’ circle – but another day it may saunter as though half awake, and ‘tortoise’ hour-hand lies huddled in its shell.:

hare-clock2

My childhood intro to time and different speeds!

Soon after starting my search for ‘truth’ when a young man, I read that time’s related to consciousness. So I noticed its measure may depend upon alertness.

Decades later and living at a more leisurely pace I notice this puzzles me. For example, in the bathroom I’m usually wide awake when swiping a razor around my face – rarely am I drowsy and, if needing to be on the move, I keep an eye on my watch as it sneakily heads for a deadline.

I’ve noticed differences on some days between how much I can get done in that early half-hour. Maybe my wrist-watch speeds up or down, or maybe it’s simply all down to my body-clock. Even so I’d agree with Justin Abrahams’ claim that, of its own nature, time does go at different speeds – maybe I get my own ‘time bubble’ in the bathroom!  But I’d much prefer to learn the practicalities of his claim to having done a two-hour wash, wax and polish of his car in half an hour!!

After posting the first announcement about Justin’s podcast on engaging Time in February I found the timing of my listening to it was intriguing!

podomatic-justin-abraham-time2My first attempt at listening on my phone failed to work. Not having done this on my phone before I found out later that the talk did download but I needed a better ‘ap’. Anyway, it was much better this way because it grabbed my attention when I was able to give it. Had it worked it would have distracted me from a personally relevant event at the conference I was going to.

At least a couple of aspects of what Justin teaches on that podcast were relevant to that event as well as to other recent things. First, I’m amused I’d been thinking of something from dim, distant days – “He who grieves most, grieves for wasted time”. It was one of many such quotations that had been used to prompt me to search seriously for the truth and meaning of life just before the famous Beatles turned into hippies and then got into transcendental mediation.

A Few Thoughts on ‘Time’

I hope anyone who followed my suggestion to listen to Justin’s podcast (here) didn’t find his excited assertions too daunting. Perhaps his approach is too ‘off-the-wall’ for some, yet his experiences and insights are worthy of due consideration and reflection.

Those of ‘glued-on’ adherence to the literal Bible text and fixed interpretation, according to whichever adopted translation is cleaved to, may have difficulty with his challenging but Biblically-based concepts. I very much like his familiarity with scientific concepts, from which most Christians shy away. It’s something I’d urge my brethren to get to grips with in order to marvel even more at Father’s handiwork.

Without being in any way dismissive, however, it would be interesting to see evidence for Justin’s claims regarding postage dates.  Also, as above, I’m ambitious to clean, wax and polish the car in such an unexpected short time-span as he experienced for two! 🙂

I recalled what Charles Shamp taught on the prophet Daniel travelling in time and seeing the stars at Jesus’ birth, thus leaving instructions on what the Magi should look for in the sky and why (Supermoon Monday’s ‘blood moon’ and The Age to Come refers).

Bobby Conner – Time Disappeared

Bobby_Carolyn_Conner_500pxAlso, I was reminded of what Bobby Conner said in Bath city about ten years ago. After returning from a trip, he phoned his wife Carolyn from the airport to let her know when to expect him home. It’s usually well over an hour’s journey, so his thoughts turned to the Lord whilst driving. Only twenty minutes later Bobby came to the junction for the road leading to their house – total time: under half hour!  Huh?

Miraculous, or a tall story? And is it Biblical??  My overview Eternity and Prophecy refer to three examples in scripture of time having been distorted and broken. And remember…

He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no-one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end…

I know that whatever God does, it shall be forever. Nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken from it, God does it, that man should fear before Him.

That which is has already been, and what is to be has already been; and God seeks an account of what is pursued [so that history repeats itself – Amplified Bible]. (Ecclesiastes 3:11 Amp; 14-15 NKJV)

[Drafted early March 2016]

Does the present really exist?

Physicist Mekhi’s scientific definition of ‘now’ augments my previous post on Justin Abraham’s outline of relativity and time. Also, the diagram is helpful in illustrating his description of slices of time and ‘before the beginning’, or pre- and post-Genesis. Don’t overlook the ensuing discussion from readers.

Rationalising The Universe

Firstly a warm welcome to all new followers; we were fortunate enough to be featured on WordPress Discover recently which gave a wonderful flurry of new support. We endeavour to stay in touch and interact with as many of you as possible; and hope that science and mathematics continues to be an area of interest for everyone. The pool of human knowledge is after-all our most valuable asset, which we share collectively.

Now for our second exploration of time (if you missed the first you can find it here). The theory of relativity is our best theory of the macroscopic world. The theory of Special Relativity was introduced by Einstein in 1905 brought about a wide range of insights into the nature of reality including length contraction, time dilation, a universal speed limit of the speed of light and the relativity of simultaneity. It is the latter that shall…

On engaging and governing Time – in the first 15 minutes…

JAbraham_Time

Justin Paul Abraham (credit Gloryrevolution.net)

…examples of time ‘miracles’ and outlines on time travel, time ‘slices’, time ‘bubbles’ and bending of time popped up in Justin Abraham’s teaching upon Time (see introduction). My near transcription/notes of the first quarter hour is below – parentheses and emphases of topics are mine.

Now and then he jokes with his audience about getting their brains ‘fried’, BUT they’re in good company!  It happens to experts too!  Mathematicians and scientists continue to be puzzled over the profound paradoxes of quantum physics. Phil Mason opens chapter three ‘Time and the Quantum’ of his book Quantum Glory (2010) as follows.:

A number of scientists who are kept awake at night perplexed by the counter-intuitive world of quantum mechanics have devised additional experiments in order to probe more deeply the bizarre attributes of the sub-atomic world…we need to note that these additional discoveries will totally mess with our heads concerning the nature of time itself…a significant key to understanding the quantum enigma hinges upon the issue of time as it relates to quantum space.

Justin relates Biblical prophecies to the science of relativity and quantum physics but first sets the scene to his in-depth lecture with scriptural backing. (Hence my inserting the full text of Ephesians 5:16 after Lion Bites’ Heavenly Time-Management in A prophetic word from God about Time….). So let’s dig in… Continue reading

On engaging and governing Time – introduction

Our consideration of the convergence of scripture and modern science begins with this expanded version of a post published on 18 February 2016. We’ll learn how the theories of relativity and quantum physics – under-girded by the ‘queen of sciences’, mathematics – may match the supra-natural nature of God’s word in the holy Bible. Attention is drawn in particular to the important concept at the concluding section – last but not least!

podomatic-justin-abraham-time2

This graphic is so apposite in view of my references to Time’s spiral nature, as in earlier posts on The Nature of Time and Eternity & Prophecy, as well as the mini-series on Time starting with Prophesy to 2014 and Talking to Time seems to work.

Most importantly I’d remind everyone that Jesus Christ is Lord of Time and so you may also like to read the prophetic word, “I Am The Lord Of Time”.

In an intellectually demanding session at Glory Revolution in Melbourne, Australia, Justin Paul Abraham talks about how he engages with TIME and how this fits in with the Word of God.

This of deep personal interest because of what I’d sensed of the ‘book beyond the Bible’s back cover’ – ie, The Age to Come (see On Eternity and Prophecy).

So, I tracked fully with him, listening a few times and recommend your taking time to listen to his Podcast here, as announced on Company of Burning Hearts. Justin attests this is life-changing material for Christians – it’s certainly cutting edge!

“This is a sweet truth that will liberate your days! You are  not a slave to time!”

He claims the Lord taught him the necessity of learning to master Time because when the antichrist comes he will attempt to change times and seasons (Dan 7:25 – ie. usurping the Almighty’s function of changing times and seasons, as at Dan 2:21). Justin was told that if he doesn’t stick with the difficulty of teaching it, then the Lord would use someone else!

For ease of reference my close transcript of the first quarter-hour is next. In the meantime – if you have opportunity. Savour the session’s full impact via the preceding link to the podcast. May the Lord bless your listening, weighing and waiting upon Him.

QUANTUM PHYSICS

As Justin refers to science and the ‘observer effect’ in quantum physics, you may find the following brief glossary helpful (emphases mine). Its startling discovery isn’t so ‘spooky’ to born-again Christians!

Light – small section of the electromagnetic spectrum (EM), all of which is measured in frequency of oscillatory wave motion. Renowned dual-slit experiment demonstrated that light is waves, or particles (ie. quanta; singular = quantum), or both!  Similarly for sub-atomic matter.

Counter-intuitive – earliest experiments revealed astonishing fact of quantum mechanics that light adjusts itself before, and according to, later experimental observation; thus affecting results and as though displaying intelligence!! (Known as ‘the observer effect‘.)

Sub-atomic particles Quantum Glory - cover‘It is a unique property of the quantum world that sub-atomic particles have the capacity of being in two places at the same time. In our macroscopic world of classical physics the last thing we would expect is to see someone bi-locate right before our eyes so that suddenly they can be in two places at the same time. Yet in the counter intuitive world of the quantum universe this is exactly what is going on all the time’ ‘Quantum Glory’ p 68, Phil Mason. (Also see link below.)

Tunnelling – quantum process whereby particles pass through impenetrable walls and barriers (like Jesus at John 20:19).

‘Without quantum mechanics’ explanation of how electrons move through materials, we would not have understood the behaviour of the semiconductors that are the foundation of modern electronics…would not have developed…microchip and modern computer… without the advances in our knowledge thanks to quantum mechanics there would be no lasers and so no CD, DVD, blu-ray players…would not have smartphones, satellite navigation or MRI scanners’  (‘Life On The Edge’ pp 21-22).

Entanglement“probably the strangest feature of quantum mechanics. It allows particles that were once together to remain in instant…communication with each other despite being separated by huge distances…its implications are so extraordinary that even Einstein refused to accept it, deriding it as “spooky action at a distance”! (Profs. Jim Al-Kahlili & Johnjoe McFadden, University of Surrey, Guildford, ‘Life On The Edge‘ p 30.)

Also, this from ‘The Nature of Reality’ by Stuart Clark and Richard Webb (New Scientist  24 Sept 2016) – for very good summation of six main problems in physics visit Intropy.

Solution 6 – Information

“…But entanglement does seem to be at the root of many mysteries, and the recent hints that it could be the warp and weft that holds space and time together. In that case what is entanglement? The best we can say is that it’s some sort of collective information shared between particles. That highlights a common theme in more cutting-edge physics: that understanding space-time, and the route to the more unified picture of nature generally, lies in treating information – not matter and energy – as the most fundamental thing in the universe and understanding better how it works.”

Particles sharing information across time and space – just a faint hint of how believers in Jesus are linked across heaven and earth to Him and our Father through His Holy Spirit.

A prophetic word to physicists (2015)

Published in January 2015, this kick-starts our consideration of science and scripture.:

Now and then upon hearing news of scientific discoveries and deeper understanding I’ve thought, “They’re catching up with scripture”. Hence my occasional posts and re-blogs on science (eg. yesterday’s Route to Reality). Jordan Gresczyk’s latest on As He Is…So Are We,  therefore, sits well in my spirit as a prophetic word. He writes.:

‘I am not a Prophet and do not claim to operate or stand in that office but I do believe God speaks to His friends. So I feel prompted by the Lord to speak this Prophetic Word. I speak it in faith. Judge it according to the Spirit.

“God is going to open the eyes of the Physicists as He opened the eyes of the Magi. Both Quantum Mechanics and Relativity. Dimensions are being opened and Paradigm Shifts are coming. New wineskins. New unshrunk clothes. I see God wiping the chalkboard clean and giving new formulas and protocols. I see theories being molded by the Spirit into realities. I see these as Secrets being given to His friends in those fields. God is saying He will be known by His creation and He will be given honour and He will be worshiped.”

‘Again I am not a prophet and I do not claim to be. If this be from Him amen and if not, let it fall to the ground.’
