Billy Graham goes ‘Home’ to be with the Lord

THE LIFE-CHANGER! The man who pointed me towards Jesus Christ in 1989 is now, at the age of 99 years, ‘at home’ with our Saviour, the Son of God. He utterly befuddled me!  As a non-believing anti-Christian I was completely out-of-character in accepting an invitation to hear the world-renowned evangelist at Earls Court in London – never did I suspect my own well-being hung on my reaction to that request!

You cannot imagine my consternation when, sitting ‘in the gods’ in the auditorium, I was stunned to find myself agreeing with what Billy Graham said!  I was flummoxed!  Utterly bewildered!  Who’s thinking that?  Can it be me? Never!… Really??  (More about the beginning of my rescue from satan here.)

So a deeply heartfelt, ‘Thank You Lord’ for Billy Graham. May Your Holy Spirit’s New Season across the earth now begin…

GPS#11 part 3: Dr Sharon Stone – new prophetic season for UK

Now, I get to use the graphic I almost used for the first part of my 11th instance of God’s GPS (Global Prophecy Signals) but for ‘AD’s reminder as I was about to publish it!  To my mind it’s symbolic of the positioning of comms satellites over and around the earth but immersed in an influx of spiritual power and information.

This series of GPS#11 is about an influx of events and information I received during the fortnight covering the end of January and first complete week of February, all of which are related to the increasing need to pray for Great Britain. The first part featured ‘AD’s email reminding the Church to humble ourselves, repent of our wrongdoing and pray for change in ourselves so our nation maybe blessed. The second brought a strong word of encouragement for the ecclesia in following the Lord’s will and bringing about His plans for Britain. [NB: my editorial haste led to a couple of minor amendments being made – especially that we “Arise and accept the commission…”, and spell-checker changes of  ‘thou’ to ‘though’.]

As intimated in my New Year’s Blessing to readers, its relation to the Word for 2018 Leisa delivered, the ‘resurrection’ of the Word on Castles and Praying for UK from Liz Evans, all plugging into Jane Hamon’s word about receiving a Prophet’s Reward, I’ve been mulling over the possibility of a new level of insight and authority in my writings as being akin to prophetic declarations. (Some ‘sabbatical’, LOL.)

This was confirmed by Dr Sharon Stone in how she prayed for delegates at the year’s first mentoring day on 3rd February that, however we start the year, our posture puts us in a place of alignment to succeed, to fulfill and to accomplish the themes Father has put before us. Before teaching on how to ‘Engage’ with Jesus she referred to what she received in January when the Lord spoke to her and said,

“Sharon, I have given you a good reputation in the land.” For this I thank Him. He’s given me favour with many, but now He’s saying, “NOW, let’s use it!”  

“I felt like I was given TEETH…I mean the threshing instrument with teeth [Isaiah 41:15].

“You know when you’re pioneering a lot of the time you operate in a lot of protocol and become all things to all people so there might be understanding and agreement and wisdom, and you encourage and you persuade…and you do all those things and you change the label of the prophetic to fit in every place you go because you know that when they get a taste of it they won’t let go; because it’s their Lord, their Saviour, their Deliverer, their Healer, their Restorer, their Redeemer.

“And so when they recognise that’s THE voice they realise how contagious it is, then they realise they cannot live without the voice of God, without having that greater clarity on the inside. How can they fulfill their destiny without having a greater understanding of strategy? How can they possibly know what to do with their day without having a God that speaks to them as a time manager, even to help them fulfill everything that God’s called them to do?

“I’ve done all that and the Lord says, “Now let’s use that reputation!”

“Amen, I don’t believe that reputation solely rest upon my shoulders and so I pray right now for these (delegates):

“Father, we’re in a different prophetic season with teeth, not one with just protocol. Father this isn’t a season of political correctness!

“Father, this is a prophetic season of TEETH! And so where many of us have allowed diplomacy to fill our mouths – we thank You for that God – but I release right now the sharpness of Your sword; I release the sharpness of Your teeth to accomplish much in the name of Jesus; the sharpness of  the threshing instrument to be able to accomplish what needs to be accomplished.

“And so stand here and speak to the enemy and say: Where you have thought you could run alongside us and that we’d do nothing about you, we declare today that we put you on notice and command you: Back up and back off! – in the name of Jesus!”

Sharon and delegates then went into warfare mode!

Afterwards, I happened to chat with one of her associates, Suzanne Ferrett, with whom I’d shared what I’d ‘seen’ out at the Runnymede area a few years ago. That’s where the Magna Carta was signed in 1215 AD and now, in discussion, I learn about her prophetic intercessory ministry based upon a spiritual version of that Great Charter.

After starting to investigate further and whilst writing this I begin to see the ‘invisible jigsaw pieces’ coming together once again, because not only does this plug into the prophetic word on castles, but also into my researches on the history of Reading and the Thames Valley in the times of King Alfred the Great, and of his establishing a Christian government across ancient Wessex and Mercia – see Historical Research hub.

2018: Year of the ‘Prophet’s Reward’ – more on ‘castles’

We start again with more ‘serendipity’ on the Word/Call to Pray for the Nation because ‘The Finger of God’ is definitely pointing at what Liz Evans brought in 2010. That is, it’s getting strongly reinforced!

Also, this ‘God-incidence’ promises the Lord’s favour to all who receive all that comes from Him and through those bringing His written and inspired words. So may you, my reader, be greatly favoured this year.

Just after noon on Monday I published a copy of that word/call and began mulling over  how to blog about my personal connection. Almost concurrently, Elijah List published a closely related word!  I’m indebted to Lynne at Father’s House of Prayer for forwarding that one’s full text to me within the hour.  I replied, ‘It certainly seems to fit in with what I was subconsciously sensing about this 7th year of blogging, in prep for going up a level – hence my New Year blog and surprising award‘

Jane Hamon, Dr Sharon Stone’s close associate at Christian International in Florida, writes in 2018 Word of the Lord: A Year of the Prophet’s Reward about what she’d received:

‘As I prayed about the upcoming season in the Church and what God is saying to us for 2018, I had a vision in which I saw and heard the words “A Time for the Prophet’s Reward.” Jesus spoke about this in Matthew 10:40-41 saying, “He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward.” The word “receive” means “to take hold of, to accept, to receive favorably, to embrace, to give ear to, to make one’s own”. This is what we must do with Christ in our lives. To receive Him is to receive the Father. And to receive a prophet and those who are righteous will bring blessing in our lives.

‘Later I saw just the words “Prophet’s Reward” written on a giant battering ram which was slamming against a huge locked gate. I knew the anointing of the Prophet’s Reward was going to open tremendous opportunities for the Kingdom of God to advance. Those who have received prophetic promises from God and those who operate and function in prophetic ministry will experience one of the greatest seasons of honor, advancement, promotion and favor as we align and actively participate with all God has said.’

Next, a fascinating difference of sub-headers follows, BUT BOTH are very apposite!  The website’s first sub-head is ‘The Significance of 30 and Prophetic Fulfillment’, whereas what Lynne sent me reads as follows (note Jane’s content reinforces previous posts and comments, plus important historical data – the underlining is mine):

NOW IS THE TIME!

‘So why would this be a focused year to receive this anointing? This year we celebrate 30 years since the birth of the prophetic movement.

‘Prior to 1988, there were only a few places in the earth that were experiencing dreams, visions, angelic visitations and prophetic revelation. However, that year at Christian International (as well as several other places on earth) we spiritually birthed the prophetic movement. We recognized that God was raising up a company of prophets and prophetic people who could communicate His heart, will and mind to the earth. Today, it is now widely accepted throughout Christianity that God is still speaking TO His people and THROUGH His people and that as we hear God’s Voice it can change our world.

‘The number 30 signifies a promotion into a new season of success. This is a new season of authority and blessing for prophetic ministry and for seeing the prophesied word come to pass. It is a launching season! Jesus was launched into his earthly ministry at the age of 30 accompanied by signs, wonders, miracles, authority, power over demons and a heart to demonstrate that the Kingdom of God had come. 30 was a very important number in the Jewish culture. It was considered to be the year of maturity for leadership. Priests were dedicated to service at age 30. (Intercession). Men were eligible for military service at age 30. (Warfare). Ezekiel was called as a prophet at age 30 (Prophetic). Men were considered of age to run their father’s business at age 30. (Marketplace). This year get ready to be mantled for a new level of authority in your area of prophetic calling.

’30 was also a year linked to fulfillment of prophetic destiny, overcoming & rulership…

‘The Prophets Reward launches us into similar times of fruition when all we may have struggled through comes to an appointed time of grace and fulfillment so that we can step into our time to rule and legislate for the Kingdom of God in the earth. 30 also signifies prosperity & posterity. In the book of Judges, one of the judges, Jair, had 30 sons. He gave each of them a horse and a city! (Judges 10:4)

‘So you see, in this 30th year of the prophetic ministry, all that has gone before has actually only been preparatory to what comes next. Where before the prophetic was met with skepticism and resistance, now there is honor and excitement to hear the Word of the Lord. The Voice of God is being integrated into the church and being drawn on in the business world. Even local and national governmental officials long to hear answers from the heart of God so they can have the capacity to bring their city or even nation into the Prophets Reward of breakthrough. One of the new things to watch for is how effectively prophets and prophetic ministry cross into the mainstream of culture, not just the mainstream of the church. Secular leaders will become increasingly open to hear what God is saying, even those who don’t know Him yet.

‘The Lord is saying it is time to receive the Prophet’s Reward whether you have been a part of what God has been doing the last 30 years or if you are brand new to the movement, your reward is the same. During this 30th year of prophetic ministry, we should expect a greater anointing for fulfillment of prophetic destiny, blessings of prosperity upon ourselves and our families, greater revelation, greater miracles, signs and wonders than ever before.’

WHAT’S THE PROPHET’S REWARD?

Jane Hamon goes on to ask ‘What is the Prophet’s Reward? and, in answering, cites  8 scriptural examples (that number again! – see closing paras of previous post):

  1. The miracle we need that money cannot buy
  2. The reward of provision
  3. The reward of posterity
  4. The reward of new beginnings
  5. The reward of breakthrough
  6. The reward of opportunity and favour
  7. The reward that heaven will fight for you
  8. The reward of nation changing.
NUMBER 8

Under #4 Jane refers to numbers as follows:

‘This is the Roman calendar year 2018 and the Hebraic calendar year 5778. Both years end in the number 8 – which signifies new beginnings, reformation and resurrection life. Jesus was resurrected on the first day of the week which was the 8th day. Josiah, a reformer, began his reign at age 8 bringing a new era in the midst of idolatrous predecessors. He also began to seek the Lord for himself in the eighth year of his reign which later resulted in His purging Israel of the altars of Baal. Likewise, Solomon began to purge the idols from Israel in the 8th year of his reign. The 8 of Reformation will always call us back to the straight path and righteous living. 

‘Since I mentioned the number 8, I should mention here the biblical meaning of the number ’18’ is blessing and long life…Finally, the number 18 is tied to judges. There were 18 judges from the time of Joshua until Saul became king. The first judge, Joshua, ruled 18 years. I believe it is time to see a new beginning in the courts of our land with a return to righteous rulership…’.

A FEW THOUGHTS

The emphasis upon ruling and justice is noticeable and reinforces that dominant theme in connection with ‘castles’ throughout the Word and Call to Pray for our Nation. Buried in the email shown in that post’s follow-up is a reference to a word I’d heard at Bath in March 2009:

‘The phrase ‘Prepare to rule’ had inexplicably dropped into my mind. Was this for the church to get ready to be in the position to rule with Jesus upon His return?’

The significance of the historic 30-years is personally noteworthy because 30 years ago I reactivated my search for the Truth, which led into my encounter with Him in 1989 (for details read “I’m Free!”).

Finally, let’s not forget the first ‘Nationwide Prophetic Circuit Message’ from the Lord says of this year: “2018, I will impart to My Prophets the ability to see clearly ‘My Numbers’, such as dates, times and even denominations of money as I loose significant detail and even finance…”  

Prophetic ‘castle’ words and pictures now coming into play

Several readers have commented or emailed me on the timeliness of the word from Liz Evans in her Call to pray for our nation and establish God’s rule.

It is undated and thereby avoids attribution of dating or thinking its ‘dated’, or it’s gone stale. After all, the Lord looks over His word to ensure it achieves its purpose and thus doesn’t return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11). This word brought by Liz was received several years ago, but we’ll connect the ‘prophetic dots’ or ‘jigsaw pieces’ and examine them as being evidence from the Lord as to that word being timely for 2018.

Bringing prophetic pieces together

Many regulars will be familiar with my use of godly coincidences as a tool in receiving, checking and testing prophetic words and visions. The scriptural warrant for doing so is quite clear but new readers wishing to investigate further are directed to ‘The Protocol of Prophecies’ in An Introduction to Prophecy.

‘BRIDGE o’er POND’ – ALABAMA

At about five past five last Sunday afternoon I found myself nodding in agreement with pastor John Kilpatrick at Church of His Presence saying the Lord has been giving him prophetic words for each new year…but it was the actual date that made me nod:

“It started in 2009 when the Lord first gave me a prophetic word. We waited on the Lord for the New Year and when He left I just got a download…” (listen from 1:03:00 here)

I was pleased to get a confirmation from a pastor that had been the start of a prophetic process for him too. Yet for me it had been a ‘need’ to write on the prophetic. Moreover, I’d been unconscious to a specific thread that had been sewn throughout the years until recently, when another sudden shower of serendipity surrounded me with ‘jigsaw pieces’ – just like snowflakes lying around my feet!

This time, it gave me grounds to get out my old files from 2009-10.  And this wasn’t the first time buttons had been pressed to open up and relive my visual memory.

The first such ‘re-opening’ had come after debating an issue at Prophecy Today in mid-December. A confirmatory word brought by Brett Dewey had plugged so powerfully into one of mine in 2011 when I’d had a very vivid dream relating to Bill Johnson’s prophecy on that 3rd September being a turning point for the Kingdom of God in the UK. Brett’s dream in December 2017 showed that what ‘our’ dreams cover is now at the next stage of active unveiling – God-incidents Validate Three Prophetic Visions refers.

[Moreover, Brett’s earlier vision of a beach and wall has strong similarities to details in a personal prophecy given to me by Bath’s team in 2005 when we met Liz.]

‘BRIDGE o’er POND’ – ARIZONA

The second ‘re-opening’ of my visual memory came last week from Tony Puccio after I’d joked in his second England Ablaze about his ‘spiritual observatory’ in Tucson, Arizona. On Wednesday 3rd he kindly sent me a file with covering note simply saying,  ‘Thought this might interest you’ – Wot! – a HUGE understatement!

In view of a couple of dreams he’d had about an inevitable change of monarch, I’d already put him in touch with a group of intercessors, who’d kindly supplied some historical prophecies on the royal family. It included a transcript of Liz Evan’s Word for UK.

I replied to Tony: ‘Re your…attachment that MIGHT interest me Tony!! It MOST certainly does, as explained below – I’m extremely grateful you’ve kept me in the loop on this…as its re-connecting me and taking me ‘full circle’…

‘…we often went to Bath City Church as it’s very special to us since 2002 (we married 6 months later) and it’s where we connected into the prophetic and met Revd Dr Sharon Stone and Liz Evans very soon afterwards.  Liz’s website is endorsed by a close friend of ours.’

I copied Liz into that reply and, after greeting her, wrote, ‘Tony’s attachment of the ‘Call’ you brought and its reference to castles immediately opened up my visual memory to the time several years ago I told you of the angels on battlements I saw close by Bath City Church.  Think I may also have emailed you on what I’d sensed of Windsor Castle being a connection between heaven and earth and then sharing that with Sharon six years ago next month!  (I didn’t know she’d soon move there)

‘Only last weekend did we watch episode 5 of The Crown (on Netflix) and noted its very close attention to detail of the ‘secret ceremony’ of Her Majesty being anointed during her Coronation, and to which your article refers. (My Her Majesty’s 90th birthday also refers.)’

BATTLEMENTS o’er BATH

I find in my personal prophecies papers that I’d emailed Liz on 18 March 2010, after our attending BCC’s Partner’s Day and wanting to discuss that weekend: ‘Yesterday was most encouraging and exciting, especially in what you said about castles and Magna Carta for I believe it may be relevant to some things that popped up over the last year… it develops upon the vision that Sharon weighed at her school [in Bath] a few years ago.’

There wasn’t time at the next weekend school to discuss, so I followed up with the details of what I’d seen in 2009, as may be read in this scanned email:

Liz replied, “Fantastic, definitely worth weighing” but I don’t recall seeing a paper version of what she’d shared. However, someone had transcribed it from her ‘Prophecy in the UK’ session at 2010 Release Conference in Bristol with Bill Johnson (him again!) and Mark Stibbe. A copy of that came from Tony, but Liz kindly sent me her version for publication (see previous post).

INVISIBLE JIGSAW PIECES

After last Thursday’s frenetic to-and-fro of the above messages the following ‘God-incidental’ input soon burst upon the scene:

  1. I realised 7 years have elapsed since this Call was made at Release 2010.
  2. That evening’s meeting with our curate of Bramshott & Liphook Church discussed her pre-Alpha spirituality course. She will be teaching on ‘interior castles’ (per Carmelite St Teresa of Avilla)!!
  3. Thus, I told her of my day’s activity and past connection with ‘castles’ and she reminded me of her Bath connections: especially Paul Skelton’s H.O.T.S. and ministry in India. (Soon after launching this blog I helped Paul by publicising the issues HOTS Bath had with Advertising Standards Agency in 2012)
  4. Our vicar Valentine Inglis-Jones was previously curator at Holy Trinity, Coombe Down Bath, and will be with out there with Paul later this month!

So Sunday’s passing remark by pastor John in Daphne, Alabama, makes yet one more confirmatory ‘God-incidence’. On top of all that is what I’d sensed about Windsor Castle in 2011 and shared with Sharon in February 2012.

HEAVEN TOUCHING EARTH

In that month, at a conference in Torquay, I mentioned to Sharon that Nina and I had visited Windsor the previous year and I’d sensed a spiritual atmosphere there. As we spoke, an image of its Castle’s famous round tower came into mind. This was followed by the idea its crenellated battlements look like the teeth of a giant cogwheel, and this could fit into some sort of invisible socket where earth could get plugged into heaven!

It’s a little hard to explain but then the thought dropped into mind that such engagement would enable the heavenly kingdom to ‘wind up’ our earthly kingdom – or ‘queen-dom’ – for the Lord’s purposes (eg. revival) – rather like putting a key into and winding up a clockwork toy. [Paws 4 Thought – a Special Town in the Thames Valley refers.]

There’s other observations I could make but for now let’s note Liz’s emphasis is reiterated by Suzanne Payne editor of UK Prophetic Words (emphasis added),

“Richard…it is a key time for this word!“

Now, it is particularly significant that 8 years have passed since Liz published the full word and call to Christians to defend our Nation and establish God’s rule. In biblical symbolism 8 represents a new beginning, a new order or creation. In the account of creation God created the earth and heavens in 6 days and rested from that labour on the 7th. So the whole creation as a universal, harmonious corporate entity had its first ‘working day’ on the 8th day! (See next post for unexpected confirmation on ‘8’!)

Also, I’d had the distinct impression of 2018 being a year of going up a level, like in spiraling up after having gone around full circle ie as in a 7-year cycle. Personally, I wanted to move into the more restful 7th year of this blog’s cycle (as in my New Year thanks) yet have a strong sense of moving into a new level – and most astonished to get an award!

A most intriguing closing thought: I’d considered re-publishing my first New Year’s blog  Points to Ponder 2011-12 on its 6th anniversary. I didn’t do so yet its subject of Biblical cycles is repeated a couple of paragraphs back – and I sure didn’t plan it that way!

PRAYER ALERT: for protection of the royal family and London

I interrupt the weekend offline to alert intercessors to tentative information that’s come to light on a possible extremely explosive terrorist atrocity in central London. (Its source received a dream in August 2016 about Big Ben that subsequently proved accurate on the method of attack on Westminster Bridge seven months later.)

Therefore kindly weigh this with the Lord and consider using this prayer declaration:

‘Almighty Father, we come to You in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ, and in that mighty Name we break the power of every strategy and assignment sent against the British Isles and Ireland. We pray the mighty covering of the Living Blood of Jesus Christ over our villages, towns and cities; over our coastlands, seaports and airports; over our roadways, railways and waterways and traffic thereon – as well as over ourselves and….

‘We ask You to release the angelic host to protect us from every spiritual and terrorist attack – especially members of the royal family and their premises, as well as national landmarks – and to lift each citizen above every circumstance and crisis.

‘We affirm the finished work of Christ over all demonic forces and decree: no weapon formed against the plans and purposes for the British Isles and Ireland will prosper. We also decree: no longer will violence be heard in our land, or destruction within or at our borders. We bless the atmosphere to be charged with peace and order. Amen’  (Isaiah 54:17 & 60:18)

Having mentioned my sidling into a sort of semi-sabbatical for this blog’s seventh year, I’m extremely surprised to receive an email with personal congratulations on its being selected for inclusion in The Top 50 Prophecy Blogs and websites – I didn’t even know it existed!

I wish to thank not only the kind person who nominated Richard’s Watch to Feedspot but also my dear Nina for persevering with my frequent, scheduled daytime absences at the PC in the study, tapping away at the keyboard out of sight and of hearing!!  (Total 1,727 posts and pages.)

Founder of Feedspot, Anuj Agarwal, kindly thanks me ‘for your contribution to this world’ and is honoured to have this blog as part of the most comprehensive listing of prophecy blogs on the internet – no sir, the honour is all mine.

May the Lord richly bless you personally with answered prayers and especially with fresh revelatory insights – I know that’s true for at least one with whom I’ve been in correspondence today.

I heartily thank regular readers for continued support, as well as all visitors for ‘dipping your toes in the water’ – you’ve all contributed to this blog approaching 600,000 views!

Now we’ve entered its seventh year I think it’s time to take a form of ‘sabbath rest’. Like the Sabbath is meant to be a break from ordinary routines to meet in fellowship, to read the Bible and draw closer to the Lord, so I’m adjusting the blog’s focus to emphasise the prophetic scriptures.

With the exception of significant items, I’ll be covering fewer contemporary prophetic words as they’re available direct from several prophets’ websites, as well the splendid daily resources provided by Glasgow Prophetic Centre in their ‘Lion Bites’ and the large library at UK Prophetic Words.

In other words, my focus will mainly be on world and church events of direct relevance to prophetic scripture, as done before launching the blog when I emailed friends and church leaders about such events (see Archives 2009-11).  What was an acceleration of moving into the fulfillment of prophecies is turning into an almighty avalanche!

With this in mind I will create a hub of Bible Updates as a library of published posts on those developments and fulfillment of scripture.  Most of the existing material is already covered under various categories and tags but an easily accessible hub with links will prove helpful for reference purposes.

First Sunday of Advent and a personal foretaste of Jesus’ return

Yesterday, Sunday 3rd December, saw the celebration of the First Sunday of Advent 2017. It’s always highly nostalgic to me because of a life-changing dream in 1989 that brought a totally unexpected and radical encounter with Jesus Christ.

FIRST & SECOND ADVENTS

The First Advent was when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea 2,000 years ago. The four weeks leading into Christmas are designated within the church calendar as Advent, and start the church year.  In traditional churches the scriptural readings for the First Sunday in Advent are usually on the glorious return of Jesus Christ to rule and reign on earth, known as the Second Advent.

My encounter featured two highly personal aspects of my life; thereby validating the experience as real, not imaginary. Amazingly, both validations are directly related to the First and Second Advents and enhanced my interest in End-Times, by which I’d been figuratively grabbed by an Invisible Hand only a few years earlier.

Six years ago this week, soon after launching this blog, I posted details of the encounter – one that gave a personal foretaste of the Second Advent!

One aspect I haven’t previously referred to, however, now needs highlighting in view of current events I must blog about. So it’s important for you, my reader, to appreciate the wider grounds upon which I take my stand AND call fellow disciples of Christ to TAKE A STAND.:

THE VISITATION

The brief account On a Trapdoor into Hell – Jesus Swoops to the Rescue tells the full story.

My background was one of deep involvement in New Age, Gnostic and occultic notions with meditational and mystical practices. Although not a practitioner, I was nevertheless  aware of the principles of witchcraft. Those practices had led to some unusual ‘psychic’ dreams, but none whatsoever were like this one.

This dream’s sudden ‘gearing up’ into the supernatural reality of demonic and angelic activity and the appearance of Jesus Christ above the clouds and His fast descent towards me, startlingly made me conscience-stricken and realise the truth of judgement – in great dread, mine was about to happen NOW!  And because of my sins I was now about to be dropped right into Hell – so in terror I just had to hide from HIM!  (And I did…but!)

Later, I understand that terror had been ‘the fear of God’ brought through Holy Spirit in convicting me of my sinfulness (ie. wrongdoing) and, thus, preparing me to receive God’s grace (ie. undeserved favour).

However, only this weekend have I realised another scriptural relevance of that fear – and that I’D BEEN BLESSED WITH A FORETASTE OF THINGS TO COME! 

APOCALYPSE – THE SIXTH SEAL OPENS:

‘The kings of the earth, the great men, the rich, the commanders, the mighty men, every slave and every free man, hid themselves in caves and in the rocks of the mountains and said to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! For the great and day of His wrath has come, and who is able to stand?” (Rev6:15-17)

My reaction to that visitation from Jesus very closely matches the reactions described in Revelation chapter 6 to earth-and-heavens-shaking events that will lead into His return.  It could be said that, in addition to natural fear, the Spirit of Knowledge and of the Fear of the LORD (Isaiah 11:2) will come upon them.

So, I’ll be using that personal aspect as grounds for praying in a particular way for the conviction of sin and sincere repentance of reprobates who serve satan’s schemes.

Hence my taking note at the close of Emma Stark’s video of 24th November on the Lord’s preference for the kind of revival we should pray for.  ‘He said, “But Emma, I’d rather you ask Me for the revival of the holy, reverential fear of God.” And God said, “It is in that, that I can bring the extraordinary miracles.” And the Lord says that he is going to give back to his people right now…a godly capacity to fast; a godly capacity to pray; a godly capacity for greater holiness, because I believe that He’s saying to us,:

“Choose My move that is a holy, reverential, all-based response to Who I am, that will bring the greatest harvest, and the greatest salvation and the greatest miracles for a generation.”

Ezekiel’s vision of The Almighty’s flame-like glory

It was an immense delight soon after waking on this the last day of November 2017 that its meditation in Sanctuary returns to the first chapter of the Book of Ezekiel. Over the past four weeks David Strutt shared many gems from the OT prophets as a preparation for next month’s Advent season. It was instructive to dip into the relevant scriptures whenever possible, but I focused especially on those from Ezekiel and upon his life after receiving his Call 2,600 years ago!

After having blogged or read posts and comments on visions of holy fire, my eyes almost popped out upon reading…

Day 335 – November 30th

‘We cannot leave Ezekiel without going back to the beginning, to meditate a while on the vision that first put fire and fear and awe-struck love of God into his heart, soul and mind. He was by the River Chebar [exiled with the Hebrews in Chaldea/Babylonia] when a vision of heaven began. He saw things indescribable that are difficult to fully understand although our spirits rise with his as we hear of the beauty of the angelic forces and the servant beings. But there comes a point when even those pale into insignificance. [Am using New King James Version of Ezekiel 1:25-28 because it conveys a slightly fuller description than the New American Standard Bible.]:

‘A voice came from above the firmament that (was) over their heads; whenever they stood they let down their wings.

‘And above the firmament over their heads (was) the likeness of a throne, in appearance like a sapphire stone; on the likeness of the throne (was) a likeness with the appearance of a man high above it.

‘Also from the appearance of his waist and upward I saw, as it were, the colour of amber with the appearance of fire all around within it; and from the appearance of His waist and downward I saw, as it were, the appearance of fire with brightness all around.

‘Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so (was) the appearance of the brightness all around it. This (was) the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD.’

Selah!

This is where language fails to convey and do justice to novel experience. It was hard for Ezekiel to describe this staggering vision, as we may gather from his repetitions of ‘as it were’, ‘the appearance of’ and ‘the likeness of’.  In other words, we should infer that his description is not to be regarded as being totally definitive of the Almighty.

The important lesson for the prophet-in-training was that God was present in Babylonia as well in Jerusalem.

It’s particularly noteworthy from the vision that the throne above the ‘heavens’ has an occupant described as being human-like but composed of, as well as being obscured by, the brilliance of fire.

Note also Hebrews 12: after stating in verse 26 that God has promised “Yet once more I shall shake not only the earth, but also heaven’ (per Haggai 2:6) and explaining its meaning, the chapter closes with its reason:  For our God is a consuming fire’.

Sanctuary – Moments in His Presence

Sanctuary – `something set aside for sacred use’.  This new book by David Strutt is a collection of daily thoughts and insights. They are designed to encourage you to come into the presence of God; to praise Him, to hear Him and be healed and restored by the wonders of His love and faithfulness.

Sanctuary isn’t meant to replace daily Bible reading but instead aims to stimulate, inspire and refresh you by helping you go deeper into God’s love.

Reflecting on the nature of God, this Sanctuary contains exciting testimonies and encouragement to pursue the Lord for spiritual gifts to be evident in our daily lives. It is arranged so you can read the entries either by following as a calendar of dates and church festivals, else at your own pace by its numerical sequence of days. At the close of each day’s thoughts there is a short prayer as a source of inspiration for further meditation.

Its author David Strutt blesses the church we attend in Liphook with teaching that brings deep insights, and I especially appreciate his occasional explanations of the Hebrew meaning of scripture. After announcing the book’s publication his large box of copies was soon emptied!

David Reveals Book’s Beginnings

Chatting recently with David in his large but cosy ‘shack’ and by a warm small fire, I enquire of the book’s genesis. He points to a light-green large yet thin, vertical wooden letter rack brimming over with small scraps of paper upon which he’d jotted notes over many years, and to lots and lots more in a box-file labelled ‘Sanctuary’.  As stated in the book’s Introduction, they’re all thoughts and insights from his reading, preaching and being inspired.

With a flourish of the hand towards the box he divulges, “I knew that one day I’d use them to write a book for those who place great importance in coming into the Lord’s glorious presence each day.”  The Introduction offers gems of brief encouragement – like nuggets – on ways of getting the best out of those notes, as though riding on a tandem with scripture.

About four years ago David realised the Lord wanted him to transform all the notes into a devotional book called ‘Sanctuary’. He confesses that his first attempt at doing so in a diary format only produced rather ‘wooden’ first months of the year.

Last year a very awkward misfortune resulted in one leg being immobilised. “When my leg was encased in a heavy plaster cast it was quite a struggle to walk around. And so in 2016 I debated with myself about being able to go to Dorset and eventually decided we could go in August.”

David then pointed across from where I was lazing on the sofa to the large, soft leather satchel laying across the adjacent chair. “As I went to grab that bag I heard the Lord tell me, ‘Don’t take that! Take your laptop!’  So out came the box of watercolours and in went my laptop. Instead of sitting at an easel I ended up tapping away on a keyboard. From the first day away the writing flowed non-stop and I wrote daily ’til January 2017!

“In writing I had several different kinds of readers in mind rather than write for a niche market. As well as regular devotees I wanted it to appeal to new believers, to those wary of the Old Testament and to offer a ‘jigsaw’ of prophecies that lead into the Incarnation. In leading into Advent/Christmas entries during November introduce OT prophecies, even the more difficult ones, for our contemplation.

“So I tried to link together a chain of events to help us understand Father’s heart for His creation. ‘Sanctuary’ is for diligent seekers as we all need to understand the big picture rather than see the Bible within a niche.”

In view of my frequently blogging on both topics, my ears pricked up at David’s alluding to prophecies as a ‘jigsaw’!  I grinned. When launching this blog six years ago I’d wanted to call it ‘Invisible Jigsaw’ (details here), but couldn’t find a suitable graphic at the time.

Furthermore, a slight scratch to the back of David’s hand from a garden bush as we went to the ‘den’ had reminded me of a significant dream a couple of days earlier. The dream related to a formative place of my childhood (local library, as here) and my later calling to write. It closed with my looking at my watch, seeing the hands near 12 o’clock (similar to now, 12:07) and a short, narrow trickle of blood around the top’s inside edge. I awoke and understood most of the dream, plus the what and why of the last thing I was looking at – my watch; that is, ‘Richard’s Watch’!

Paws-4-thought: Kingdom-related events since lightning strike on Mecca’s Grand Mosque

Won’t you pause to ponder and praise the Lord with me? Let’s look back briefly and consider how the prophetic has a place in diplomatic circles.

After a lightning strike damaged Mecca’s Grand Mosque just over two years ago I’ve noticed many changes are under way in Saudi Arabia and the M-East generally. Developments indicative of major spiritual and diplomatic changes in Muslim leaders’ relationships with and their attitudes toward Christians, and Israel in particular, are quietly emerging.

Late in the year of the ‘blood-moon tetrad‘ (2015) I closed a series of posts on the years’ spectacular events with Why this September is special: Update #2 – Islam, which referred to a lightning strike in Mecca. Under the sub-head ‘Anniversary of 9/11 Atrocity’ I wrote:

‘On the anniversary of this century’s ‘day of infamy’ for New York, I noted another event seemed to connect into the collapse of the Twin Towers – as well as possibly being of God, or was it simply coincidence?  Lightning from a severe thunderstorm in Mecca struck a tall crane, which collapsed into the Grand Mosque thereby killing and injuring hundreds.

‘The construction engineer is quoted as saying, “It was an act of God”. A ‘very saddened’ British imam is reputed to have said, “It’s a blessing in disguise for those killed”. Four days later Saudi Arabia’s King Salman suspended contracts for the construction company, which is owned by the Bin Laden family!

‘Nevertheless, it ‘struck’ me that it’s a mirror ‘action replay’ on the 14th anniversary of the attack upon America, inspired as it was by the teachings and practices of the Meccan founder of Islam. That is, the very heart of the homeland and faith of those modern religious plotters and perpetrators was visited by an almost similar ‘toppling of a tower’. Also, my first impression was of The Almighty throwing down the gauntlet to confront satan. It’s far, far too uncanny not to be of poignant significance!’

The necessity of brevity means we’ll avoid itemising all subsequent events, except the notable one, and overlooking Crown Prince Muhammad’s radical reforms, your attention is drawn to recent events with his main Sunni Muslim allies of Egypt and Jordan.

This year’s change of US administration brought a complete sea-change not only in US-Arab diplomacy but also between USA and Israel. In his first foreign trip as the POTUS, Donald Trump addressed the 2017 Riyadh Summit in Saudi Arabia with a well-crafted speech. I re-blogged Joel Rosenberg’s report Trump boldly urges Muslim leaders to “drive out the terrorist and extremists” from their nations and mosques with this intro’:

‘Note Trump’s accurate description of Islamic terror as “battle between Good and Evil” (read prepared speech.)  All a mighty contrast to Obama’s deep rift with Riyadh in 2011 for betraying Egypt’s president Mubarak as a consequence of having invited the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood to his 2009 Cairo speech plus his back-channel dealings with Iran, as I reported just over 8 years ago in Today’s Importance in History (18 May 2009)!’

Christian Leaders Meet Middle-East’s Leaders

THEREFORE, with those two historic and highly significant events in mind let’s look at the latest news from Joel Rosenberg of his delegation of evangelical leaders’ top-level meetings in Egypt and Jordan. Tap/click links to read his reports in full:

1st Nov > Today in Cairo, Egyptian President Sisi Welcomed First-ever Delegation of Christian Leaders for 3-hour Meeting : I had opportunity to meet Egyptian President el-Sisi in Washington in April.  What I could not say at the time was that…the President invited me to bring a delegation of Evangelical Christian leaders to visit him in Cairo, as well as to meet other senior Egyptian government officials and religious leaders. We’ve been working on this with his staff and advisors ever since, and today the project not only became a reality but was far more than I could possibly have hoped for…’ 

2nd Nov > Arab & Israeli media provide inside details of President el-Sisi’s historic meeting Evangelical Christian leaders in Cairo : …’Rosenberg, who was born to a Jewish father, told Haaretz that he was surprised at the level of interest expressed by the Egyptians in the delegation. “For the leader of Egypt to invite a Christian group to sit with him, discuss what he’s doing, talk about some of the difficult issues, that’s very impressive. I was hoping we could get ten minutes with him, and eventually we got almost three hours. From our side, the important thing was to show our appreciation for his fight against terrorism and extremism, for his commitment to peace and security ties with Israel, and for saving Egypt from the darkness of the Muslim Brotherhood.”…‘

8th Nov > Jordan’s King Abdullah II welcomes Evangelical Christian Delegation at Palace in Amman. Leaders thank King for advancing peace, fighting terrorism, caring for refugees and protecting Christians : ‘The meeting capped three days of meetings between Delegation members and senior government officials; Evangelical, Catholic and Muslim leaders in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan; and a moving visit to the Zaatari Refugee Camp near the Syrian border….’

Kingdom Presence & Prophecy

An insight upon another quite different aspect of spiritual diplomacy on behalf of the King of Kings was shared at Revd Dr Sharon Stone’s mentoring day last Saturday – it’s that of the office and function of God’s prophet.

As part of his material, the speaker for the first session taught about the student’s ‘work’ or assignment in the Lord as being the prime driver and energizer in their lives. As God created air for birds to fly through so He created His Kingdom in which His presence manifests and in which His saints are to function. Therein, Holy Spirit’s words and power comes to His people. Those anointed in the office of prophet are to create a Kingdom atmosphere in order to do their ‘work’.  So, without the presence of God any ministry is impossible. The question is, how’s this done in secular, even governmental, meetings?

In giving an example this speaker surprised us by telling about when he was invited to a meeting in Geneva, at the United Nations, and expected to prophesy to some government leaders. In meeting ‘the world’ with every race, creed and culture present, he realised the need to avoid jargon, or ‘churchese’.

‘Why? What am I trying to do? I’m trying to conquer an air-space; I’m trying to bring a Kingdom atmosphere into an already world-atmosphere. And there’s nothing more like world atmosphere, I promise you, than being at the UN…every ambassador, diplomat and delegate is there and I’m in front of a couple and of course I don’t know if they’re Christians. So I’m not going to say “Thus saith the Lord”. All I’m going to do is speak the Word of God  into the atmosphere and drop Truth, even in this place. And so I said (to X and Y), “I don’t know who you are but I see you’re in between two intense negotiations right now and I see…”

He gave the gathered students just a tiny peek of the bigger picture he was giving them about their personal work and how the Lord is helping. They then asked the prophet, “You don’t know who we are, do you?” – “No” he replied.

It turns out they’re Donald Trump’s envoys and the prophet continued: ‘(Then) as I’m speaking the atmosphere changes, all of a sudden the Kingdom of God came in and the next day – and the next day – there was momentum to minister to most of the diplomats…Why? Because we can change the atmosphere with the prophetic!’

The speaker explained how this principle works by alluding to the military strategy of  ‘air supremacy’ – so too, with prophecy and intercessory prayer.

Network ‘gremlins’ block comment on Boris, BBC & Balfour post

Being away from 10 o’clock on duties at Acorn after having published the previous post on Boris, BBC and Balfour Declaration I was unaware of a most informative comment submitted by Dave Chapman about half-an-hour later. It’s presented a fascinating but annoying bit of bother: something or someone somewhere read it and decided to block its appearance! That is, you cannot yet read his remarks at the foot of that post because WordPress is malfunctioning?

Could that be just sheer coincidence?  Let’s not get paranoid, but it reminds me of when my blogging about Iran’s rehearsals to attack Israel was affected (as here).

However, I was able to update that post with these appended notes which I’d started but had to amend, and added screenshot to confirm I’m not imagining this malfunction:

‘Also, please note Comments below from Dave Chapman, to which I’m about to reply in some detail…WHOA THERE! – MOST PECULIAR: although I saw them in an email alert to my phone timed at 10:35 (read approx 14:30 half-mile away and am now back home on PC), his message does not appear either at the foot of this post as usual, or in my admin screen’s listing of comments – yet it is flagged atop home page’s Recent Comments sidebar (as shown below)!

‘MOREOVER that email alert hasn’t downloaded to my PC (stop press: just in at 15:30 but no change on WordPress). So is someone, somewhere censoring and blocking his truthful material ??  WEIRD!’

It’s so empirically observable that it’s almost scientifically demonstrable fact!

Trump’s Middle East peace plan is revealing. Has “Eye to Eye” made a difference?

‘The Times of Israel said Sunday that the Trump administration would shortly unveil a formal proposal for Middle East peace that aims to enable a “comprehensive regional arrangement,” but that it will not be imposed on the sides, and that it will not feature a rigid timetable. An administration official told The Times of Israel, however, that there were no imminent plans to present a proposal.

‘I prayed that President Trump would read my Sept. 6 letter and review “Eye to Eye”  [Bill’s book] and/or at least talked to staff about the book…to let the president know of the consequences of dividing God’s land. Additionally, I have also been told that people have written the White House about Israel’s covenant land…

‘President Trump has been expected to provide a comprehensive regional plan since his meetings with Arab leaders in Riyadh in May and at the UN in September. If he didn’t come forth with at least some plan, this would not bode well for him and Jared Kushner, after they showed such enthusiasm towards a comprehensive Middle East plan and deal. Moreover, President Trump doesn’t want to stop his tough talk or negate his credibility and/or reputation amongst Sunni Arab leaders which could further complicate his Iran and North Korea actions and decisions.

‘However, the fact a regional arrangement will not be “imposed” or that there would not be a “rigid timetable” is big news. In other words, they’re backing off the pressure, which is key. Plus, no imminent plans to present a proposal is also very favorable.’ (Emphasis RB’s)

For such a time as this – I (eye) wonder… (note #1)

Written just after the total solar eclipse crossed USA from its Pacific to Atlantic coast, Dave Hood presented me with a thought-provoking article and gave kind permission to publish. Re-reading it 7 weeks later I notice several God-incidental prophetic elements – including a healing; hence (parenthesis) in the title – as in my observations appended below:

FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS

Like many, I’ve wondered if the very recent eclipse affecting mainly America had any meaning.

A number of days ago, an acquaintance posted some information on Big Ben and the eclipse on Facebook. At that time I was already toying with these following facts…:

It struck me, from information, that the sun’s diameter is 400 times greater than the moon…and the sun is ALSO 400 times further away. Add to this the component of 4 years, the anticipated period of Big Ben’s stoppage which began on the same day as the eclipse.

Then we have the factors of size, distance and time linked to the number 4 . The number 444 had been, and still is, appearing ’til one is dizzy. The number 4 is related, in part, to the context of the creation natural and supernatural. 444 has had a number of different interpretations, including one of the timing of mantles being released and of the fullness of time, to mention but two of many others.

Here’s a video-link to Steve Cioccolanti, that I received after the facts outlined above were discovered.

I discover at around 7min 47secs (#2) another 4 is introduced into the sequence… Genesis 1:13 There was evening and there was morning, a third day  – Gen 1:14 .Then God said (of the 4th day), “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night, and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years” ; the seasons are not our summer, winter, etc, but rather God’s seasons.

But I then noticed in the video, at 26min 20 secs, he starts talking about the month of Elul, which BEGINS on sundown 21st August 2017, the day of the eclipse. Elul is the 12th month of the Jewish civil new year. Elul is the last month. From 24min 34 sec he explains Elul means ‘harvest’, but specifically the beginning of the harvest.

Just this Tuesday evening, the 22nd August, BEFORE I’d seen this video, I’d prepared a bible study on the word ‘tav’. In it I paid careful attention to explaining the place of numbers and pictures attached to this unique letter tav, as used and outlined in the Hebrew alphabet. We see this author of the video at 13 min 27secs provide also this focus. (#3)

Here is an excerpt of the study of evening 22nd August.:
Study notes, in italics, per John 4:35 (NIV) …”I tell you, open your eyes and look at the fields! They are ripe for harvest.” (#4 & #5)

Note…gaining the harvest…requires OUR eyes be opened and then…LOOKING, and not looking away (#6). He wants to open our eyes and fill our jars … to connect our place of authority in heavenly places with his purpose here below on earth this earthly realm (Jacob’s ladder)

So today the 23rd...I began to wonder, is God opening our eyes, through the event of this eclipse, to demonstrate, to us, that HIS, long promised and hoped for harvest, dreamt for…has, in fact, now begun…the day following the eclipse…the eclipse being the trigger point and of the beginning of the month Elul, the beginning of the harvest. Elul, means, translates to harvest. And this harvest, beginning on the first day of Elul, is the beginning of God’s harvest season.

Following this illumination, I found some other enticing, and supportive facts. In Hebrew the fourth letter is ‘dalet’. The figure 4 is pictorially represented as the open door.

Another source spoke of it as being an open tent door, as in the Tent of Meeting. It’s an invitation to enter.

Just the previous Sunday in a fellowship meeting I attended, a prophetic word was given emphasising the open door He was placing, that no-one, no thing could or would close. (#7)

The 4th day brought the moon, sun and stars into play and could point to division, in terms of them separating light from dark. We as believers were brought out of darkness into light. I saw a quote attributed to G.L.Parks? As well as representing division it also signified time. Excellent article noted below (by Julie Volby on Doug Fortune’s site).

And a reference to the 4th dimension …a coordinate in addition to length, breadth and depth; a coordinate in addition to 3 rectangular coordinates especially when interpreted as the time co-ordinate in space or time continuum. Something outside the range of ordinary experience.

Eph 3:17-19 ……to comprehend the length and width and height and depth of His love,

We have mass, distance and time…Ephesians shows the 4th dimension.  Earlier we saw the factors of mass, distance and time…and when computed together…determine
force.

Eph 3:7 …according to the working of His power; v 14 …according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man; v 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. v20 according to the power that works within us, 21 to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. God’s seasons… The name Theresa, can be derived from Greek meaning (theros) “summer” and from Greek (therizo) to harvest.

  1. Exactly one month after that eclipse on 21st Sept a lady attending prayer for healing regained her sight in one eye. Her eye had glaucoma for which surgery was scheduled but after looking at herself in a mirror after prayer ran back to the chapel to declare she could see through that eye – praise the Lord.

Does God make ‘jigsaws’ and arrange ‘coincidences’?

After blogging three ‘jigsaw pieces’ of ‘coincidental’ prophetic scriptures (#1 – 21 Sept & 1Thess 5;  #2 – 22 Sept & Daniel’s 70th week; #3 – 23 Sept & Rev 12) I had the thought ‘This kind of material may be unusual, if not weird, for my newer readers’.

I’m of the opinion there’s no such thing as coincidence as far as things of the Lord are concerned. In fact, He arranges many such ‘God-incidences’ and ‘divine appointments’, as we’ll soon consider.

Moreover, I’m sure He likes doing jigsaw puzzles, especially the one that’s invisible to us but upon which He sees displayed His plans and purposes. Occasionally, we get to see some parts of it too.

In view of our birthday-anniversary last weekend I stayed offline after posting #1 (items #2 and #3 were scheduled for auto-publication). Even so, I mulled over the way I’d been ‘nudged’ into writing them and questioned whether or not I’d jumped to conclusions. So I sought the Lord with, “Was that all my imagination? Is there a scripture to show it’s ok?”

As if in conversation, a specific verse popped into mind that I’d read of decades ago. It tells of God playing a holy kind of ‘hide and seek’. Therefore, I resolved to look it up as soon as I got a moment upon my return.

However, before I got opportunity to find that verse I spotted a WordPress notification in my in-tray. This email alerted me to someone’s response to my remarks made last year on a scientist’s blog and wherein I’d quoted the very verse I was after!

What’s more, that response had been made on my birthday!!  I took this ‘God-incidence’ as the validation I wanted because it referred to what was on my mind to find! – AND I didn’t even have to take time searching for it!!  Just how cool is that?

The notification was from The Book of Works (Professor Seymour Garte’s blog). That title comes from Francis Bacon’s reference in his Advancement of Learning (1605), and upon which I observed,

“Let’s not forget Proverbs 25:2 – ‘It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, to search out a matter is the glory of kings.’  If I recollect correctly, this is said to have been Bacon’s personal motto and/or motivation behind his laying the foundations for modern science experiments and research…(as) precursors of the renowned Royal Society.”

A Divine Appointment ‘Par Excellence’

In the New Testament there’s a good example of the type of ‘God-incident’ popularly known as ‘divine appointment’, BUT ever so rarely is it recognised as such because its account makes a splendid sermon about who can meet Jesus, no matter the depth of our sinfulness. Preachers often make presumptions about this situation, but a key verse may indicate otherwise.

When Jesus and His disciples went through Samaria en-route to Galilee he stopped by Jacob’s Well and sent them on to the city of Sychar for provisions. The well was very deep and He didn’t have any means of getting a drink, which was awkward because it was in the midday heat. Ladies of the local city would fill their pitchers in the cooler early morning. Nevertheless, one Samaritan woman arrived to do just that and could provide Jesus with the means of getting a drink.

How fortunate! Such impeccable timing! Was she sensitive to Holy Spirit’s prompting? Did she get ‘nudged’?

Most preachers I’ve heard say she hadn’t gone there with the women because she was shunned by them, having had several husbands and then in an adulterous relationship. But what if she’d been earlier and was now responding to an inner directive from God?

The usual assumption is she’d been unfaithful all her life; but why would so many have married a woman with that reputation. This week I heard a better idea: she was barren and that could have resulted in several marriages – huh? But what if each husband had left her widowed? That is, each husband may have died. One of the first authors the Lord directed me to was John Sandford, co-founder with his wife Paula of Elijah House Ministries. (He’d been in the same new age group as I had and writes well about and deliverance from that situation.)

His idea about the woman at the well is that she may have been a prophetess and that if her husbands had died it suggests a marital relationship was secondary to that role. Moreover, her questioning and recognition of Jesus was not that of an ordinary woman.

John 4:39 and 42 are clues to her status of being neither a shunned outcast, harlot or adulteress, because:

  1. they didn’t outright reject what she told them but heeded and acted upon it,
  2. afterwards they told her, “Now we believe not because of what you said, for we ourselves have heard him and we know that this is indeed the Christ the Saviour of the world”.

Thus, the woman was recognised in Sychar as having a high degree of dignity and some authority, if not that of being a prophetess. But better, she may have been the first non-Jewish female evangelist!

Thus, there may be a great deal more to that God-incidental divine appointment than is usually supposed – a meeting arranged by the Living God.

Thus he’s been involved with planting churches and all forms of leadership in a pastoral and prophetical context.

Steve prefaces this updated version of Explaining Rejection by telling each reader,

“I am looking for understanding and hopefully some revelation to you personally. I trust that you will be enlightened and challenged.”

To that end, each chapter closes with ‘memory points’ for that personal ‘workout’, about which I will share below. In the first chapter I note his perspicacious explanation,

Now to answer my opening question: what does Steve’s first book ‘Explaining Rejection’ have in common with a famous British radio telescope?

As a new believer in Jesus Christ I wanted to get effects from my old life dealt with as fast and thoroughly as possible. I went to a meeting convened by a West Reading church known to my Baptist pastor, was impressed with the speaker Steve Hepden’s message and wanted to work in-depth upon some issues. So bought his book plus a train ticket from Reading to Lancaster for one of his courses. En-route I finished reading another book, then opened up ‘Explaining’.

As normal, I flicked backwards for epilogue, end-notes and index to get an idea of an author’s sources – but instead I found a list of questions and decided to read it. The first of several childhood-related questions was, ‘What’s your earliest happy memory?‘

Immediately, I recalled the times in mid-1950s when my father drove us, along with my mother’s mother, to see the University of Manchester’s radio telescope being built at Jodrell Bank in Cheshire. (My grandparents had given me a most fascinating, illustrated book for my 7th birthday By Space Ship To The Moon, as G’ma was very interested.)

Musing in that fond memory I gazed out of the train’s window at the very moment it went practically alongside that telescope!

A jaw-dropping ‘God-incident’: not only in its astonishing timing but also because the train was not supposed  to be there – I thought its schedule continued northwards from Crewe to Lancaster via Warrington. Instead it had taken a looped detour north-eastwards for Manchester Piccadilly. And what’s more, in doing so it first had to travel through my hometown of Stockport!  Many memories of my youth quickly awakened – then upon arrival in Lancaster the first fellow delegate I met was from my hometown!!  A truly mind-blowing start to an exceptional few days led by Steve Hepden.

Furthermore, within a few years that ministry had opened a centre in Farnham, Surrey, and one Christmas Steve was speaking there. As I was sat near a tall decorated fir tree I was reminded of one’s significance in connection with the Lord’s visitation in 1989, as told here.

Steve would never have known the remark – and its timing – made to emphasis a point in his message had completely described the impact of what happened in that dream. As I reminisced about Jesus swooping down to me from the sky and bursting through the wall of the room I was dreaming I was in, Steve exclaimed, “Can you imagine how stunned Jesus’ disciples were when He walked though that room’s locked door?”

Answer, “Yes I can, ‘cos I’ve seen it!”

So I’m sure you’ll find a treasure trove in Steve’s new book…

Ex-Muslim terrorist encounters Jesus Christ in prison

Set aside half-hour to listen to Afshin David’s very vivid, astonishing account of his life as a devout Iranian Shiite ‘soldier’ of Hezbollah who, whilst in prison, was going to kill a Christian ‘infidel’ but decided to do it by means of demonic power. However, he then got attacked by demonic darkness and pleading the names of his god or his ‘prophet’ failed utterly – yet calling upon the name of Jesus Christ saved him!

Warm to Afshin as he vividly tells about his consequential bewilderment and struggle to receive clarity and a true knowledge and relationship with the living God. His startling, powerful encounter with Jesus outshines my story of similar spiritual contrasts.

I’m grateful to Revd Gavin Ashenden for publishing this excellent material.  It is highly informative as a comparison of some essentials of Islamic culture and scripture with the holy Bible. (See also his Beware the Oppressive ‘Rainbow Wooden Horse‘.)

Celebrate with me a life-changing night…

Twenty eight years ago this morning I awoke after an awesome, shattering dream. One so lucid that nearly 30 years later, it remains vividly etched within me. Come back with me (dream content in blue typeface, comments black).:

I am in my childhood home and standing in front of the large casement window in one corner of the lounge (opposite corner to the doorway). I look up into the inky, dark night sky outside.

A small flotilla of large, wingless aircraft drifts slowly across from left to right at high altitude and I groan, “Oh…not that flying saucer nonsense. I must be dreaming!”  I’m sceptical about the existence of UFO’s, but now another ‘fleet’ of some sort appears from the right and heads towards the first.

(The dream now changes gear by going up a level from the usual mix of mental material to that of absolutely convincing lucidity…)

The metaphorical ‘light goes on’!  In my ‘knower’, I realise the first fleet is demonic and the second is masses of angels under the command of Jesus Christ. (I did not believe in them, and regarded Jesus as one of many world teachers. Here, I see no individuals but inwardly know the situation.)

Excited, I think I’m about to watch an amazing heavenly battle…but…OH NO!  

Somehow, I now know Jesus has espied me far down below and is now flying down towards me!

All I see is a distant bright light very rapidly getting brighter and larger as it drops down to my location, just like an airliner approaching a runway to land at night. 

Instantly, I realise my life has been one of sin and that contrasts starkly against Jesus’ utter holiness. Right away I realise what’s claimed about the Judgement is true – but mine is about to happen right now!

Beyond any doubt whatsoever I suddenly realise my involvement in the occult was most definitely wrong. Consequently, I deserve the undesirable abode!

Groaning “My number’s up!” I inwardly tremble in fearful knowledge I’m about to die at any moment. An invisible trapdoor I’m standing on will drop me straight into hell.

Utmost mortal terror strikes!  I dive under the drop-leaf table by the wall to the left of the window so I can hide from Jesus. But he knows I’m there and swoops down straight through the wall on the other side of the corner window. He’s standing in the room and right beside the table!

Cowering below the table with my back turned towards him, I glance over my shoulder and see him from the knees down, his body and face out of sight above the table.

Most unexpectedly, somehow I have the courage to reach my hand out backwards to grab at the hem of Jesus’ robe…

As I tug at the hem this event goes into yet another level of revelation, one to do with my childhood…Then I awake! Thoroughly alert, further sleep eludes me!

As recounted in False ‘Gospel’ leads me to the devil’s door,  the previous evening I’d closed the door on all further discussions with a young church worker about Christianity because of his incorrect opinion of yoga, the new age and the occult, as based upon Billy Graham’s teaching!

That night’s dream reminds me of an evocative small picture that deeply impressed me as a child – the return of Jesus Christ:

Later I understand that my terror had been ‘the fear of God’ brought through the Holy Spirit’s convicting me of my personal sinfulness (ie. wrongdoing) and, thus, preparing me to receive God’s grace (ie. undeserved favour).

Also, what happened after reaching for Jesus proves He’s closely acquainted with the private details of my thoughts as a very young boy.  The dream’s conclusion shows He’s going to topple my childish concepts of Him in preparation for their replacement with a certainty of His true identity.

“The Lord is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love” (Psalm 111). Mercifully, He plucked me from the domain of darkness to bring me into His own and receive its blessings. I deserved none of that. Truly, Amazing Grace – how awesome and wonderful..!

As a result of the most remarkable dream I’d ever had, I carefully reconsidered all my New Age and occultic notions. Meditational and mystical exercises had resulted in my having some unusual, ‘psychic’ dreams, but none whatsoever like this one.

The only remotely similar dream was that of an ‘altered’ state of consciousness known as ‘nirvana’, or bliss, where I’d been taken behind its alluring golden light.  Ecstasy turned to abject terror as the light I was in got swept aside like a curtain. Exposed ‘on stage’ was a hideous, devouring beast of utter blackness about to approach me – far worse than any nightmare! (as in Searching for Truth leads me into captivity).

I wasn’t into drugs but was ignorant of the scripture ‘satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light‘ (2 Cor 11:14).  Upon learning about and reading that verse a few years later I realised its truth had been demonstrated to me when a non-Christian in that identity’s dramatic exposure!

But in this new dream terrifying fear had been overcome by Jesus Christ Himself and His wonderful mercy and love.

On the 28th anniversary of my rescue (albeit not then fully believing or born-again) I rejoice in the Lord my Saviour upon entering a ‘new season’ of my life everlasting.

THE SHAKING: watch for signs on earth and in the heavens

Although I don’t agree 100% with John Kilpatrick’s reasons for a pre-Tribulation ‘rapture’ of believers in Jesus Christ, some significant serendipity alerted me to pay very close attention to his latest message entitled Your Redemption Is Drawing Near. I’m amazed to discover upon transcribing some of its video that a particular time-stamp reinforces a personal ‘bridge over the Pond’!

WORDS OF WARNING TO THE WORLD

After bemoaning the dearth of good, regular teaching upon End-times throughout Western churches and the increasing ungodliness across American society and churches, John brings a profound, prophetic warning. His tone becomes increasingly sombre as he speaks more carefully and pausing often (see video link):

(at 2:10:50 mark) “I really believe that 2017 is pivotal; not just because of The Radiant Woman of Revelation 12 [RB: in which he refers to its astronomical manifestation in September]…and not just because it’s possible that this is a Jubilee year, nobody really knows, but there are indications...

(2:11:45) “One thing I can tell you is this: the Lord spoke to me a few weeks ago, two mornings in a row and He said, “The earth is marked for change”.

(2:12:00) “I heard it when I was coming out of sleep (pausing to wipe his brow) and the next morning when I was coming out of sleep I heard the very same voice and very same words: “The earth is marked for change”. 

“It so shook me I called a meeting that night, took my staff out to eat…and I told them at the end of the meal what I just told you – it doesn’t sound serious when I say it, but that’s because you didn’t hear the voice I heard! But whenever the Lord or Holy Spirit tells you that,  I wasn’t able to convey it like that. So you can’t tell what I felt – but I know the earth is marked for change.

“And that is not just the earth but is also the heavens – and the Holy Spirit has said to me there’s going to be such things begin to happen…it’s going to be so shaking to people before we get out of here, before the Lord comes to get us, there’s going to be so many things that’s going to shake people that, if you’re not forewarned, it’s going to shake you!

“You will remember my voice, you will hear my voice ring in your head a hundred times when things start happening and you’ll say, “He told us!”. I hope it brings you some comfort that I told you ahead of time… but you hear me; when things start happening there will be no more headlines of Russian collusion…no more talk of tampering with the election, all that won’t even be in the papers at all…I want to say one more thing.:

“I never really put two and two together ’til Friday as I was preparing my message – but because Donald Trump is president and not afraid of anyone he’s saying things most presidents would hold…and we need a president now who says what we need to hear, even if it’s insulting. So when he came out and said about ‘fake news’…yes, I began to realise I’ve been hearing a lot of fake news…There’s no collusion, there’s nothing to it, it’s all just hype..

“So now listen, listen, if the news media is reporting fake news and hype…and they’re holding back reporting things they need to report, and reporting things they don’t need to report; it all of a sudden dawned on me and the Holy Spirit said, 

“They will do the same things about the signs of My Coming – they will NOT report things that need to be reported that will shake the nations about the soon coming of Christ. They’ll hold it and talk about a bunch of nonsense”.

“And He said,

“My people will have to search it out and have to go to places of truth to get the truth because they won’t be able to hear it on the news any more!”

“You might not agree with that, but I’m ‘Donald Trump the Second’ up here today – I’m telling you things that you need to hear. I’m not afraid to tell you things you need to hear. I’ve got nothing to prove, I’m only trying to tell you things that will help you get to heaven…

“Don’t take for granted what I’m telling you about the heavens. I’m more concerned about that than I am other things because in 2009 the Lord gave me the prophetic acrostic R.E.S.U.R.R.E.C.T.I.O.N. – you remember? The one that stood out in my mind more than any other was the ‘S’ for ‘Signs’, and the Lord said there’s going to be signs in the heavens. And the Lord said to tell the people to warn them, because He said when the signs start happening it’s going to bring great fear on the earth!”

A VERY PERSONAL LEAD-IN

We watched that live-streamed service from Church of His Presence in the afternoon.  A few hours earlier at the morning service in Liphook, one of our ministers had encouraged us to come forward for a blessing for opening up,  or developing, our personal journey and calling in Jesus.

After a number of recent indications on how He’s been steering me since a young boy, I gained an insight into my mother’s preference for using my middle name – John. Homing into that, I recalled Apostle John was favoured by leaning upon Jesus’ chest, and subsequently by a visitation from which he recorded ‘the revelation of Jesus Christ’. So I briefly recalled His visitation to me one night in September 1989, as recounted in On a Trapdoor to Hell – Jesus Swoops to the Rescue.

Therefore, I was doubly intrigued a few hours later to hear pastor John start to teach upon the Book of Revelation and use that same description of John’s privileged place. Furthermore, the title of his talk is that of a scripture directly related to my encounter’s similarity to the Second Coming of the Lord. YET it wasn’t until today that I discovered a THIRD connection in pastor John’s talk! It’s directly relevant to a personally relevant number referred to in those two earlier posts: 212 – the number of the house I lived in when a boy. AND those preceding links reveal earlier instances of such ‘serendipity’; that is, God-incidents!

In listening to the recording of pastor I’m ‘God-smacked’ by the indisputable fact that only when the recording has been playing for 2 hours 12 minutes does he start telling how he got warned upon awaking from sleep!!

Hmm, so we have something significant to contemplate and wait upon with the Lord -and those personal markers are telling me to pay attention because they validate His word to pastor Kilpatrick.  How about you, my reader, what do you think?
