Here’s what I read Tuesday night…
‘More than 330,000 people’s journeys were thrown into chaos by a computer system failure, according to trade body Airlines UK, with 2,100 flights cancelled.
The Transport Secretary said the flight processing system failure was avoidable, raising further questions about the future of Martin Rolfe, the chief executive of the air traffic control body Nats.
Cancellations and delays continued into Wednesday as airlines dealt with knock-on impacts at airports including Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Stansted.”
Now the primal scripture that jumps to mind is the Lord’s admonition to bless the Hebrew descendants of Abraham, or else earn His wrath as stated at Genesis 12.3 (Amplified Bible – emphasis mine):
‘Now [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father’s house, to the land that I will show you.
2 And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others].
3 And I will bless those who bless you [who confer prosperity or happiness upon you] and[a]curse him who curses or uses insolent language toward you; in you will all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed’ [and by you they will bless themselves].

This report, headline as above, reminds me of Old Testament prophet Zecharia’s warnings of the far future, as cited below:
‘On the dusty, sun-parched hills just to the north-east of Jerusalem, Britain’s relationship with Israel has reached its nadir. The proposed E1 housing development has a good claim to be the most controversial planning application in the world.
For the British Government, as for much of the international community, E1 is unconscionable because it “would endanger the viability of a two-state solution”.
Although there are debates about potential bypass roads for non-Israelis, the development would essentially cut the Palestinian urban heartland in the West Bank in two by severing the city of Ramallah to the north from Jerusalem’s eastern suburbs and the city of Bethlehem to the south….’

The Coming Deliverance of Judah
12 The [a]burden of the word of the Lord against Israel. Thus says the Lord, who stretches out the heavens, lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him: 2 “Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of [b]drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. 3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. 4 In that day,” says the Lord, “I will strike every horse with confusion, and its rider with madness; I will open My eyes on the house of Judah, and will strike every horse of the peoples with blindness. 5 And the governors of Judah shall say in their heart, ‘The inhabitants of Jerusalem are my strength in the Lord of hosts, their God.’ 6 In that day I will make the governors of Judah like a firepan in the woodpile, and like a fiery torch in the sheaves; they shall devour all the surrounding peoples on the right hand and on the left, but Jerusalem shall be inhabited again in her own place—Jerusalem.
7 “The Lord will save the tents of Judah first, so that the glory of the house of David and the glory of the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall not become greater than that of Judah. 8 In that day the Lord will defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; the one who is feeble among them in that day shall be like David, and the house of David shall be like God, like the Angel of the Lord before them. 9 It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.’

The coming deliverance of Judah will not come until these prophecies are fulfilled. As Bible expositor Gerald Flurry has noted in this recent article excerpt:

Prophetic Perspective
Any serious crisis in the West Bank could quickly spill into Israel proper. Major cities, including Jerusalem, could get hit fast. The Bible predicts such a crisis is coming soon. It also shows what will be the main cause.
Hosea 5:13 reads: “When Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound, then went Ephraim to the Assyrian, and sent to king Jareb: yet could he not heal you, nor cure you of your wound.” “Ephraim” is a prophetic term for modern Britain. (Request a free copy of The United States and Britain in Prophecy for more information.) “Judah” refers to the Jewish state of Israel. Assyria is modern Germany.
The prophecy refers to Judah having a “wound” that requires international help. Strong’s Concordance defines the word: “in the sense of binding up: a bandage, i.e. remedy ….” Gesenius’ Hebrew-Chaldee Lexicon defines it as “the pressing together, binding up of a wound; hence used figuratively of a remedy applied to the wounds of the state ….”
Trumpet editor in chief Gerald Flurry writes in Jerusalem in Prophecy:
In other words, the remedy IS the wound! … Is the peace pact with the Arabs the Israeli wound that God refers to in Hosea 5:13? There would have been no peace pact if Judah would have trusted God instead of men. The word wound doesn’t necessarily itself refer to some violent act, but it will undoubtedly lead to violence.
A related prophecy is in Zechariah 14:1-2. The time frame is the “day of the Lord” (verse 1), or the time right before the Second Coming of Christ. Verse 2 reads: “For I will gather all nations against Jerusalem to battle; and the city shall be taken, and the houses rifled, and the women ravished; and half of the city shall go forth into captivity ….” Mr. Flurry continues:
Today the Arabs live in roughly one half of Jerusalem. They just don’t control it—yet. When such an attack occurs, the Jews couldn’t effectively drop bombs, especially nuclear bombs, on one half of their own city.
Looking at the ongoing violence in Jerusalem today—the absolute inability of the involved parties to solve things by peaceful means—we can easily see how one half of Jerusalem shall be taken captive in the very near future. The present violence is an embryo that is about to explode into much greater violence.
The West Bank is ready for this explosion. The PA has the forces to accomplish what Hamas three years ago could have only dreamed of. The idf is facing tension even from Israelis themselves. Nothing good can come from this volatile cocktail.
