Mike’s title is similar to the pencil note in my study bible’s top margin ‘FATHER’S OWN OBJECTIVE!’ for Ephesians 1:9-10 – ‘…having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth – in Him.’ (My emphases are highlit yellow and continue for later references to ‘dispensation’, ‘mystery’ ‘wisdom’ and ‘revelation’.) So thank you Mike for helping us move into our role in the Lord’s purpose. Our destiny is to have access to heaven, where the Father is, and to have relationship with Him.
So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of God’s household, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus Himself being the corner stone, in whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of God in the Spirit (Eph 2:19-22).
We are to be fellow-citizens with all those who have gone before us, that cloud of witnesses in heaven. Like them, we are citizens…
