British MPs ‘recognise’ a non-existent state!

Published also as ‘How Britain Harms Israel-Palestine Peace Prospects’ in The Commentator, this post by Nick Gray, Director of Christian Middle East Watch, expands upon my previous posts to explain why Parliament’s vote is not only irrational but is also futile for furthering peace.

big benMonday’s vote in Britain’s parliament to recognise an as yet non-existent Palestinian state may not change government policy but it sends a negative message way beyond London. This despite the fact that less than half of the House of Commons was present for the debate

The vote to recognise “Palestine” will encourage Israel’s detractors (of which there are many in Britain) and, in the words of Britain’s ambassador to Israel Matthew Gould, “This Parliamentary vote is a sign of the way the wind is blowing, and will continue to blow without any progress towards peace.”

Sweden’s new government has made a similar declaration of support for the “state of Palestine”. Palestinian emissaries have been busy and other governments will follow, adding to the more than one hundred already recognising “Palestine”.

This is all part of Mr Abbas’ plan for formal recognition of his “state” at the UN and to join…

MPs ignore Koranic scholar’s warning to the West

PCheslerAn outspoken and renowned American feminist and an Emerita Professor of Psychology and Women’s Studies at City University of New York, Phyllis Chesler, chaired the opening panel at the first Secular Islam Summit in March 2007. In an article for The Times,  How my eyes were opened to the barbarity of Islam, she writes,

“…my views have found favour with the bravest and most enlightened people alive. Leading secular Muslim and ex-Muslim dissidents — from Egypt, Bangladesh, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Pakistan, Syria and exiles from Europe and North America — assembled for the landmark Islamic Summit Conference in Florida and invited me to chair the opening panel…”

ibn-warraqjpgThe meetings were chaired by the Indian Muslim scholar and intellectual Ibn Warraq. The previous year he and ten other Muslim and ex-Muslim intellectuals, journalists and authors (including Salman Rushdie) had co-signed a ‘Manifesto: Together Facing the New Totalitarianism’, which strongly opposed blasphemy laws and customs.

In an exclusive interview published a fortnight ago Phyllis describes her friend,

Ibn Warraq is known for having dared to summarize the history of Islam as one of imperialism, colonialism, gender and religious apartheid, anti-black racism, and slavery – and for having dared to point out that, far from being odious, imperial, “Orientalists”, European scholars, not Muslim invaders, saved, recorded, painted, preserved, and restored the narratives, scholarship, sculpture, artifacts, languages, customs, and architecture of the Islamic, pre-Islamic, and Christian Middle East, and of Asia, and India.

Therefore, at the Secular Islam Summit he declared,

“What we need now is an age of enlightenment in the Islamic world. Without critical examination of Islam, it will remain dogmatic, fanatical and intolerant and will continue to stifle thought, human rights, individuality, originality and truth.”

The conference issued a declaration calling for such an “Enlightenment” which views “Islamophobia” as a false allegation, sees a “noble future for Islam as a personal faith, not a political doctrine” and “demands the release of Islam from its captivity to the ambitions of power-hungry men”. (All emphases added)

In the interview Phyllis notes the summit published,

“a declaration urging world governments to reject Sharia law, fatwa courts, state-sanctioned religion, to oppose the penalties for apostasy and blasphemy as a violation of Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.”

and that her friend has urged Western intellectuals to cherish and defend their Western values and freedom.

With statements such as those above we can grasp the importance and significance of his sound recommendations to international concerns over the Israel-Palestine situation and any possibility of a peace settlement.

Phyllis Chesler’s recent interview of her friend continues,

“Although Ibn Warraq believes that “moderate Muslims” do exist, he does not believe that “Islam is moderate” and he is not optimistic about how quickly moderate Muslim theologians will be able to bring about a religious reformation that will be acceptable. Nevertheless, for years now, my scholarly friend would disappear to Europe, mainly to Germany to “do Koranic research.” I had no idea why he kept returning to work with these German scholars. Now, I begin to understand the importance of this research with the publication of his new book, Christmas in the Koran: Luxenberg, Syriac, and the Near Eastern and Judeo-Christian Background of Islam (2014).”

Amazon describes this textbook as, ‘an anthology of scholarly yet accessible studies of the Koran (and which) makes a convincing case that Islam’s holy book borrowed heavily from Christian texts in Syriac and other Near Eastern sources’.

Today in Parliament

Houses of Parliament: courtesy FreeDigitalPhotos.netThe Guardian’s political correspondent Rowena Mason noted on Friday that the House of Commons is likely to recognise Palestine as a state. MPs are debating a motion on its right to independence even though the government’s position is supportive of Israeli-Palestinian talks for two independent states.

But The Commentator’s editorial has a grasp of the deep issues and problems:

“(Today’s) vote…aiming at recognising a Palestinian state is certainly historic, and in several senses. It’s a historic mistake; a historic instance of ignorance and bigotry at the heart of the British political system; and a historic gift to Islamist terrorism…

“The more you think about it, the worse it gets. Britain is sending people into battle to stop one Islamist terror state emerging in Syria/Iraq, and now wants to give its imprimatur to the creation of another one in Israel/ Palestine.

After reminding readers of the evil that is Hamas and that Britain’s Parliament would reward them still further with a vote that can only help them, the editor concludes:

“The vote itself is motivated by ignorance and bigotry. A vote in favour is a vote to turn the Mother of Parliaments into the Mother of all Stupidity; and a friend of terrorism to boot. This might be a time for British MPs to drop the prejudice, and start thinking about what they are doing.”

Adrian Hilton, aka blogger ‘His Grace Archbishop Cranmer’, is scathing on The hypocrisy of Labour’s three-line whip tactics:

As the British Parliament votes on a motion of support for the establishment of the State of Palestine, it is noteworthy that Conservative backbenchers have been granted a free vote, while Labour MPs are subject to a three-line whip. If you happen to be a pro-Israel Labour MP, you have been asked to stay away from the Chamber.

In all honesty, I suppose it’s too much to expect our Parliamentary Clowns to begin to appreciate Ibn Warraq’s warnings??

By the way, let’s not overlook Islamist infiltration in British schools, as revealed by former police counter-terror chief Peter Clarke in Trojan Horse ‘just tip of the iceberg’!

UPDATE >> Christian group warns ‘British values’ rules imposed after ‘Trojan Horse’ scandal leading to schools with a religious ethos being marked down by inspectors for failing to promote ‘tolerance’ (See Christian school downgraded for failing to invite an imam to school assembly – John Bingham, Telegraph 19 October)

Call to pray for the UK – part 2

On Monday I read a couple of communications about prophecies for Britain, and within which I sensed a connection. In particular, the first also related to what had come (but remained unread) from Dr Clifford Hill in the 1st part of this post – and with his earlier call to prayer over Scotland about deception.

In particular that first item also bears a warning that has a possible connection with what Dr Sharon Stone gave in 2013 about our “having won a battle we didn’t continue on to win the war”, and what Chuck Pierce saw for 2015 (here and here respectively).

The other communication is not only relevant in that aspect but it also brings strong encouragement for prophetical prayer. Also, it’s already included within this blog’s Library but I will comment separately upon it next week.

Here’s the first prophetic piece by Oladapo Ogungbade:

PRAY FOR THE UK’s FUTURE

A friend put up a post about the England and Scotland referendum recently and made an allegory out of it. This quickly reminded me of the things God told me about the UK in a Word of prophecy at the beginning of this year, which are listed below:

1. Matthew 24:5, 8, 12-14 KJV
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many. All these are the beginning of sorrows. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations;
– ‘Many shall fall prey to many deceptions, which is The beginning of sorrows for them, and because iniquity shall abound they shall respond to God lesser, but for the believers they shall rejoice and enjoy God, the gospel shall be preached in a higher dimension and with greater intensity…’
2.  Jeremiah 33:15 KJV
In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.
– The message of righteousness will be preached more and many will receive/ understand it more…
3.  Matthew 14:25 KJV
And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went unto them, walking on the sea.
– In the 4th quarter of the year there shall be miracles like never seen before…
4. Matthew 13:25 KJV
But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.
– If people are not attentive/firm and fervent, there will be robbed of their miracles and blessings.
Among other things He told me about a coming disaster for the UK (either peculiar to Scotland, Wales or England or all of them together I do not know); He told me that we Christians have the responsibility to pray for this nation for its protection.
The Lord made me understand that in a few years ahead, ‘there is an attack coming on the UK (either physical or spiritual I know not, God knows), it will be devastating and claim lives (either physically or spiritually I know not) only prayers for the land can avert it! It will be a time of sorrow for many and shedding of tears but the Faith-full will endure/abide’.
On 16th July 2014, the Lord spoke to me again about the matter thus:
Isaiah 22:3, 8 NLT
All your leaders have fled. They surrendered without resistance. The people tried to slip away, but they were captured, too. Judah’s defences have been stripped away. You run to the armoury for your weapons.
 – The nation of UK is in need of the prayers of Christians, there’s danger ahead of this nation if the believers don’t pray.
– The leaders of this nation are going to make some mistakes very soon and only the prayers of Christians will prevent this. If the decisions are made it will affect not just the people but Christians (including leaders) at large (Prov 22:8).
– Asking for God’s wisdom for them will ensure they are guided aright (Prov 24:2,3).
I’m sharing this because the Lord will have me share it with Christians residing in UK so as to pray and avert the plan of the enemy for the nation of the United Kingdom.
Please share with as many people as you can and much more please pray for the peace and protection of the United Kingdom (Psalms 122:6-8).

Scotland votes ‘NO’ – prophetic words revisited

UK flag

“2014…you’re going to give birth to twins…”

In case you haven’t yet heard:

The Scottish people’s Yes for independence was expected to lead in yesterday’s voting. Opinion polls were expecting a close finish either way.

But the first results showed a clear swing to No, with a resounding final result announced around 8am. A terrific turnout of 86% gave ‘NO’ 55% and ‘YES’ 45%.

One could assume this means Scotland will become an equally divided people. But not necessarily so because the threatened separation should bring betterment for them and the UK as a whole. The equally comparable collective sizes of both groups suggests we could regard them as ‘twins’ rather than opponents.

It was a historic and momentous day as Scotland voted to stay in the Union, or as the Independent headlines it, “The re-united kingdom”. The main advantage is expected to be an improved devolution of power to the Scottish parliament but there’s other hurdles to overcome (see analysis).

The main lesson we must learn is that complacency nearly broke up the UK, as Dan Snow reports. Now where’ve we heard that before?  From God last year!

And it’s a massive ‘WAKE UP!’ call to we English, not just to all sectors of society but to the full spectrum of church to get serious and not miss our ‘Day of Visitation’!

Thank you Lord the break up didn’t happen!

Rev Dr Sharon Stone, courtesy CIEIt’s proper that we review what He gave Dr Sharon Stone a year ago about Britain for 2014-2016.

Her 3-part ‘clarion call’ has been this blog’s most popular post throughout the year AND its statistics support the admonition about complacency!!

Part 1 has words for Scotland, Wales and Ireland.  Those for England are in Part 2 but it has had only half as many hits as Part 1 has.  And only 1 in 5 readers went on to Part 3, on England’s coming battle. In view of its nature my notes are circumspect, but it may be related to that for which we will “need the strength of Scotland for what’s coming”, as heard by Justin Abraham (UK: the Father’s heart is for unity).

So, I recommend born-again Christians to study ALL parts of that important prophetic word!

Not a nation divided, but ‘twins’!

This is my transcript of what Sharon brought for Scotland during her mentoring day in October 2013, now with relevant parts emphasised:

“For Scotland, the Lord says,

“In 2013 you were pregnant with purpose. 2014 though, you’re going to give birth to twins and there’s going to be a double-anointing released upon Scotland.

“The first ways you’re going to see it is it’s going to be the Father’s Heart and the second is Justice.

“You have started a quantum momentum for the rest of the UK and Europe for you are no longer at a crossroads but you have crossed over. As with the Israelites when they crossed over from the desert to the Promised Land everything changed. A warrior mentality had to be restored, prophetic activity released…

“Now I used to live right underneath Scotland and the things that the Lord is speaking to me now about the nations He just wasn’t talking about before, and so I’m very excited about this! (emphasis RB). The Lord is saying,

“Prophetic activity released is this: the asset of Scotland is its families. No longer a fatherless nation but a refuge for families. Scotland you are not a mother nation like England but a father nation who fights for what is just. So prophetic warfare, praise and intercession will shift your land and help align England and other nations as well.

“Eventually, you will declare new freedoms. Freedom to see in a new way, freedom to govern yourself financially in a new way…

“And the Lord speaks to Scotland AND Wales and says,

I will not let the complacency of England hold you back any longer. The hunger and the violence to take My Kingdom by force will be released within you.”

“Now before England gets upset there, you know that complacency means there is a relaxed wait and see position that you take, rather than a forcefully advancing  Kingdom position – that’s the difference there…

“A friend of mine Chuck Pierce said this,

“Wales and Scotland you will be thorns in England’s side”.

England, you’re going to get prodded, you’re going to get irritated, from your borders. That’s what’s going to happen at this time. And remember that God’s not speaking to us as one because we’re in different time zones spiritually – but we are a catalyst and a complement to one another.

“So, Wales and Scotland is going to assist England to spiritual hunger – repeat after me, ‘Hunger not jealousy’ – hunger for the Kingdom and God Himself…”

Read the full prophecy from its beginning here, continuing through links as shown. It’s  also worth paying attention to a couple of Part 1’s Notes:

1. In Nov 2008 Chuck Pierce closed his report on visiting Germany and England as follows: The Spirit of the Lord says to the people of England, “This is your season for your light to come forth as never before. Rifts will come in old structures and My people will unite in a new way. A message will come forth from pulpits in this land” Then I saw a picture of 5 nations and the Lord said, I will radiate in each land. Do not allow the rifts to cause you to let go of My hand for I am raising you up with a sound of victory.”

On Scottish First Minister’s possible Islamist stance

In re-blogging Gillan’s Scott’s thoughts on the Scottish referendum (here) I referred to the Almighty’s personal promise to Abram, “I will bless those who bless you and curse those who curse you”.

This plumb-line standard of Genesis 12:3 means Scotland’s future could well be bleak  because, and I emphasised, the Scottish National Party’s (SNP) leader, ‘Alex Salmond is not only in favour of boycotting Israel but his party also funded a Scottish affiliate to Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood‘, and linked to its source, Labour Party blogger Rob Marchant’s SNP and Gaza: why Salmond is Not a Statesman.

I’d discovered this by ‘googling’ salmond israel and also found that Salmond supports sanctions against Israel, as reported by the BDS (Boycott, Divestment &.Sanctions) movement. Salmond’s support for bellicose Turkey over the Mavi Marmara incident is as plain as a pikestaff.

Then there’s detailed journals on Alex Salmond and the SNP’s Support for Terrorists by anti-BBC researcher, ‘Highland Rebel’, and on noticeable Anti-Israel sentiment and fears of a ‘Yes’ vote by Daphne Anson, as well as her blog SNP-led Scottish council bans Israeli books!

Furthermore, last month Salmond wanted an arms embargo on Israel because of the Gaza war, as reported by The Independent and Huffington Post.

And I missed the denials over whether or not he equated Israel to ISIS on a TV show over the weekend, see Commentary Magazine.

On top of that lot are reports of threats, intimidation and abuse, as well as a possible NHS budgetary deception.

With such notoriety, Alex Salmond appears too undesirable to be in charge of our sister nation beyond the ruins of Hadrian’s Wall. [Was this a prophetic decree?]

UPDATE 19/9: As a result of his failed ‘Yes’ for independence campaign, Alex Salmond has resigned as First Minister of Scotland and as leader of the SNP (BBC news).

Personal background

The above remarks may generate questions over my knowledge of Islam. An outline to this may be gained from my comments appended to God has used Britain to do great things…, which are as follows:

“United we stand – divided we fall”!

Our UK issue reminds a South African pastor of SA’s difficulties changing government. Chinese and Russian triads took advantage of the situation and infiltrated her nation.

Nick wants to know about spiritual elements at work in this. I agree. We need to be alert to the spiritual dimensions and opposition that’s demonstrated its evil prowess globally. And we need to understand the principles involved (eg territorial footholds), none of which is hardly ever taught in ‘Churchianity’.

Whilst our focus has been on ISIS overseas we have a blind spot to home defences and an Islamic flag has been flown officially over Glasgow council offices. Surely that’s an open invitation and ‘welcome’ to undesirable elements? None of us are ignorant of the advances made in the UK since the demand for a muslim parliament in Britain was announced on 6th Jan 1992. [NB: am not anti-muslim, but am also not blind.] This link refers.

So, maybe Scotland should be separate after all?

> Fellow contributor ‘Sarky’, with whom I’ve developed a dialogue through several posts on God and Politics UK, responded as follows.:

Richard, you may not be anti muslim, but there is definately a bit of muslim paranoia creeping in on your post. Hinting that scotland should seperate because of a perceived muslim influence?? Really??
listen, the percentage of muslims in the uk is roughly equivalent to the percentage of practicing christians, at around 4%. I think any real influence by christisns/muslims is greatly exaggerated and is really just a product of the media. It makes me laugh that you fear the goals of muslims, yet they are your goals, a country/population living under the rules/influence of your god.

Thankfully the majority of votes tomorrow will be cast with god/religion left firmly on the back seat.

> In replying I referred to my decades-long background on the subject.:

Sarky, I was being sarcastic about it being a reason for national separation. But thanks for proving my point about general ignorance of spiritual principles.

Your ardent atheism doesn’t equip you with a grid for that dimension. Not surprising you’re uninformed too. So too are many clueless politicians who fool themselves that ISIS/L isn’t Islamic. It simply copies the founder’s life-style and strategies after he was thrown out of Mecca – so it IS the real deal. [Added for blog: ISIS-ISIL difference and ISIS not Islamic?, see also this Investigative Report on Terrorism. Also see the Home Secretary’s incompetent claim about the Quran]

Invisible HandNo, I don’t fear Muslims at all but love them. My quoted date hints how long I’ve been watching/studying this phenomenon. First as a ‘new ager’ 40 years ago, then in ‘84 a perspicacious writer on the Middle-East pointed out,

“We’re about to witness a mighty and almost unbelievable upsurge in Islam. Although we see the first signs of that revival (it) has a long way to go, but it’s going to go that ‘long way‘ very quickly”!  [‘The Invisible Hand’ page198, Victor Dunstan, 1984]

So the outrages of 9/11 and 7/7 were not really surprising. [Link on latter here. Also, I could add the barbaric murders of Drummer Lee Rigby in Woolwich on 22 May 2013 and humanitarian worker David Haines last weekend – plus other internationals]

Also, you and I are far too young to recall Churchill’s prophetic warning of 1899 in his honestly critical ‘The River War’ (vol 2 pp 248-50, per Wikipedia).

Therefore, we do need to be well-informed on what’s going on.

> The discussion continued…

ISIS is islamic in name only, like the uk is a christian country in name only. you cannot judge people on the actions of a few idoits!! Or are we to judge christians on those who gun down doctors at abortion clinics?? Or those far right christians who want to bring about the end of the world so jesus returns?? You have to be so careful with labels, or you run the risk of alienating moderate voices within communities, and you dont have to have supernatural ‘superpowers’ to see that.

> Therefore, I provided more information:

Well I’m glad we can agree about labels! And I accept your point Sarky, and assure you I know only too well about judging. But you’re wrong about the IS as they do have solid  grounds for using the term ‘Islamic’. A ‘few idiots’?  Maybe you’re unaware of what’s gone on outside Syria/Iraq/Nigeria etc etc – that is, in Australia? [Almost 24,000 globally since 9/11, thousands so far in 2014, and click here and here re Australia.]

At long, long last many leading Muslims are voicing their objections about ultra-extremists.  But the fact remains that Islam started off peaceful but became savage during the lifetime of its founder because of his example and purported private instructions from his ‘god’. So they savagely plundered their neighbours, killed those who refused to convert, and after he died they divided, argued and started fighting one another! (Compare with early Christianity – not churchianity, please.) [Oct 5th, a brave Catholic professor writes, ‘Islamic State is not heresy; “model is Muhammad himself”.]

Also, I do know different kinds of Islam are practised, and some like the Ahmadiya and Grand Mufti of Syria preach and practise peace, who was targeted for assassination but his son got killed instead. Read this ex-Muslim [Dr Patrick Sookhdeo] on it and his remarks on ISIS at [link provided: Barnabas Fund editorial ‘The Two Faces of Islam’].

Also, this non-judgemental expert who warned about 9/11 answers ‘ISIS not Islamic?’  [link provided: Daniel Pipes ‘ISIS Is Not Islamic?’

I study eschatology but only crackpots would do what you suppose. (If meaning GW Bush, his ‘theology’ was unsound.) What you describe is actually part of ‘Twelver’ Shiite doctrine. They’re keen to usher in the end of the world by military means so that ‘Hidden 12th Imam’ can appear and bring Jesus with him! Those are more dangerous than the barbarians.

PS. Missed Dr Sookhdeo’s apocalyptic bit about Sunni ISIS’ ultimate goal. Perhaps this is where Sunni and Shiite may agree with one another, as they do over capturing Jerusalem.

Today’s Scottish Vote – beware of deception

In his News for September Rev Dr Clifford Hill issues a deeply felt warning about today’s voting in Scotland.

C Hill 163835It has been circulating privately for intercession but may also be read on Issachar Ministries website. It just so happens that its opening, prime scripture also featured in what we heard this morning in a video on effective prayer from Anne Graham Lotz in Jerusalem. In view of this, I’m posting Dr Hill’s call for your prayerful consideration:

JUDGEMENT DAY FOR BRITAIN – A Call to Prayer

A spirit of deception is sweeping across Scotland that threatens to bring disaster, not only upon the people of Scotland, but upon the whole United Kingdom.

The first phone call Monica and I received on returning home from a three-day prayer retreat last week was from one of our Prayer Partners up in the Highlands of Scotland who said she has been repeatedly receiving a word from the Lord both in sleep and when she is awake – the word is the writing on the wall seen by Belshazzar –

“MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPARSIN” – “Your days are numbered; you have been weighed on the scales and found wanting; your kingdom is divided and given to the Medes and Persians” (Daniel 5:25-26).

This tied in completely with the words of warning I had been given from Ezekiel 33 that if the watchman sees the sword coming and does not blow the trumpet to warn the people he will be held accountable.

This is the word of the Lord to the people of Britain today,

“As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways!” (Ezekiel 33.11).

God has been warning our nation for 40 years that he would shake all nations and that Britain was facing disaster unless there was repentance and turning. He has sent many signs and prophetic words which have been ignored.

In 1980 I published a book, Towards the Dawn, saying that all the pillars of society in Britain would crumble unless there was repentance and turning. Today, we are on the brink of catastrophe: the pillars of society are crumbling – the family, the economy, the church – all are being shaken as corruption and abuse are exposed; the bankers, the politicians, the police, the social services, the journalists, and the celebrities.

Now the nation is on the edge of disaster – if Scotland votes “Yes” on 18 September the people of Scotland will pull down the whole house around them. They have got good cause for wanting to be free from rule by Westminster but if they vote for independence all the main institutions of society will collapse. In the lifetime of many still living, Great Britain has lost her Empire, the Commonwealth is crumbling and now the very existence of the United Kingdom is threatened.

In 1911 the Mother Barbara Prophecy foretold the great shaking of the nations that is now taking place. “Not one country will be without trial but do not be frightened of anything you will hear. An evil will shortly take Russia and wherever this evil comes, rivers of blood will flow… In the last days Germany will be divided in two. France will just be nothing. Italy will be judged by natural disasters. Britain will lose her Empire and all her colonies and will come to almost total ruin, but will be saved by praying women. America will feed the world but will finally collapse….” (more information here).

Last year Britain crossed a red line in passing a law to re-define marriage which is part of God’s creation and judgement became inevitable. But amazingly God still loves this nation! He is promising that if the faithful remnant will intercede before him now, total disaster can still be averted. The Lord is calling his watchmen to blow the trumpet and intercede on behalf of the nation. The time is short to mobilise the prayers of the faithful, but it can be done. Pray now most urgently that the United Kingdom does not collapse with all the ensuing chaos which will follow.

God has used Britain to do great things but now man seeks to tear us apart

Gillan’s guest blog by Ciaran reinforces the earlier post on Justin Abraham’s visions of the UK and that, “We will need the strength of Scotland for what’s coming”.

If Scotland votes ‘Yes’ all of us will have a part wrenched out that will never be replaced

Christians need to be carefully prayerful on this major issue and get back to first base > are Scottish nationalist leaders personally blessed by God, or the opposite? Whichever is the case it will rub off on our fellow Brits beyond the border. Alex Salmond is not only  in favour of boycotting Israel but his party also funded a Scottish affiliate to Hamas and Muslim Brotherhood, per The Centre Left!  According to Genesis 12:3 that doesn’t bode at all well for Scotland. Just look what happened to the UK in 1967 within 6 months of the Wilson government preventing arms being shipped to Israel for its survival against armies amassed on all borders – Devaluation of the Pound! SO I suggest being very, very wary on this voting and that we stay together as a United Britain.

High Court judgement alters plain English, suppresses free speech

Today’s blogging plans are put aside to alert readers to a development in suppressing freedom of speech:

Yesterday a British High Court judge disregarded impartiality and bowed the knee to ‘political correctness’. This was over an advert on a London bus and a responding ‘like-for-like’ advert which got banned by Boris Johnson, Mayor of London.

All law-abiding citizens should be concerned over the mayor’s honesty and his party’s line becoming highly questionable. This needs logging in our minds in case of his future bid for leadership in the Conservative Party.

It reminds me of prophetic words brought in June on ‘Justice and Children’, especially the reference to the ‘judiciary’,

Scandals will be exposed, even within social services, education, the judiciary and the police. There will be nowhere to hide, even amongst the most wealthy and influential.

Later, I covered developments which corroborated the accuracy of this word. So maybe we have yet another fulfillment of that prophecy, but check it out and decide for yourself after this outline:

The charity Core Issues Trust and Anglican Mainstream’s bus ad was banned at the last minute following intervention by the Mayor. The ad, “Not Gay. Post Gay. Ex-Gay and proud. Get over it!” was a mirror response to the one already being run by LGBT lobby group Stonewall, which read “Some people are gay. Get over it!”

Core Issues’ advert says nothing about conversion therapy or cures for their premise is that people should be free to define themselves as they want. But their ad was banned at the 11th hour yet the Stonewall Ad was allowed to run – both then and afterwards.

Boris%20JohnsonAt the time Boris Johnson took credit for instructing Transport for London (TfL) not to display Core Issues’ advert. He not only told the media but also wrote to an MP that he’d done so. Two years later he denies to the High Court having done that.

So, is Boris a liar or not?  The Judge ruled not.

How so? Because ‘instruct’ can now mean exactly the opposite! Crazy!

Core Issues’ reaction opens as follows,

“In disallowing witnesses to be cross-examined and by ignoring both controversy about categorical notions of human sexuality (which the Royal College of Psychiatrists recently admitted are not fixed nor immutable,) and inconsistencies in Boris Johnson’s witness statements, Justice Lang has confirmed today that the British establishment is no longer a guardian of freedom of speech nor of conscience.” (Emphases added in all quotations)

Updates: the ex-Culture Secretary – the British Library

Maria Miller – no longer employed

For readers overseas unaware of UK news, Mrs Maria Miller resigned yesterday as Secretary of State in David Cameron’s coalition government. On Tuesday, the date of my posting, mainstream media were in manic-mode. Not taking time to do other than glance at headlines I noted some speculated that senior Tories wanted her out because of her role in redefining marriage.

Most of the anger was from voters over Parliament allowing MP’s to feather their own nest. Also many in government were ‘getting it’, even if Dave couldn’t. Today’s Times reports the Chancellor George Osborn led the revolt against the PM’s insisting that his Secretary of State should not go.

Too many ‘talking-heads’ spouted tosh about the issue but the simple scriptural fact of mocking God remains, as I’d pointed out on Tuesday. I’d already gone into depth at the close of 2012 on the grounds for questioning his poor judgement in deciding to change marriage (here).

Later, in Something good… I expressed concern over the personal responsibility the PM and his Secretary had both assumed in going against the holy foundations of marriage. It is there, at his position, where ‘the buck stops’ for what’s happened on his watch. If you’re interested, Peter Oborn, Telegraph’s chief political commentator offers some constructive points upon the PM’s paying the price for a grievous lapse of judgement, as here.

Will that price mean following in Mrs Miller’s footsteps?

Daniel Pipes – no longer banned

Further to one of his readers finding the British Library had blocked online access to his  websites, Daniel and a number of his subscribers contacted the Library direct.

He is pleased to report that their office admitted their mistake and promptly corrected it. They advised him this situation had occurred as a result of a software blocking facility, but he’s pursuing the matter further because it allows access to terrorist jihadi sites.

Provocative ‘coincidence’ at the kick-off for redefined ‘Marriage’

Courtesy Watcharakun‘Provocative’ because a couple of associated events in tandem can make people pause for serious thought. ‘Provocative’, because how and what happened has generated a growing furore not only in Parliament but also amongst voters.  ‘Provocative’, because a key spiritual principle is involved which many ignore or refuse to consider, let alone concede it’s correct.

‘Coincidental’ – ha, is it? How can two apparently unrelated events happen yet again, that is, together at the same time by mere random chance. This re-appearance pivots around one lady intimately involved in both events and who directed the main one which closely involves her boss. And now he’s stuck in the second strand. The timing of this ‘chance’ strongly points to the distinct possibility of its being fore-ordained, even a sort of ‘God incidence’.

I humbly submit that the coincidental events around these matters indicate the Lord is keenly aware of what’s going on, and is pointing to His ‘behind the scenes’ activity – for those who may discern it.

Before we proceed, a caveat is necessary. As in previous coverage of this topic, all my comments are observational and not to be construed as being judgemental. I wish only to reiterate what the Lord stated through His Son, as revealed by Holy Spirit inspiration  of anointed apostles, prophets and teachers, and add my personal opinion. So let me first explain:

A key spiritual principle

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. (Galatians 6:7-8 NKJV)

Over twenty years ago it was important for me, a new believer rescued from the New Age and occult, to get the past healed and its ‘klingons’ dealt with. This was beyond the skills of the Baptist church the Lord directed me to, and so He pointed out certain books by those who’d also come out of Satan’s camp, as recounted here.  Then I was directed to a ministry in the north of England specialising in the inner healing and deliverance I’d already read about.

Books by John Sandford were foundational reading and I found he’d been in the same groups as me.  Having a scientific background, I was struck by the claim that scripture has laws which are universal in function and application – as in physics – one of which is sowing and reaping. (Read an excellent outline at Elijah House Ministries.)

Therefore, I’ve referred to that principle, as in Galatians 6 above, when blogging about the redefining of marriage as, for example, in several posts of December 2012.

In asking Does David Cameron’s decision line up with the Bible? I noted a developing scandal involving Maria Miller, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, who’s  responsible for introducing the new marriage law. Therefore, I also asked,  “…is all this going to be part of the ‘holy shaking’; that is, of everything not of God?”, bearing the promise in mind of Hebrews 12, viz:

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” 27 Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire. (BibleGateway – emphases added)

And now guess what?

Within hours of the new law coming into effect the scandal erupted over that minister’s abuse of Parliamentary allowances for personal expenses!

On Friday 28th March, whilst several same-sex couples were looking forward to being legally ‘married’ just after midnight, journalists at the Telegraph were drafting the latest in that paper’s 5 year investigative scoop on the MP’s expenses scandal.  At 10.00 pm, just ahead of the new marriage laws becoming operative, the paper’s Senior Political Correspondent, Investigations Editor and Whitehall Editor broke the news online.

Already going to print was Saturday’s broadsheet Daily Telegraph with inside pages reporting, ‘Cameron welcomes first gay marriages’, plus a few related items. One about priests being urged to defy the Anglican Church crept into the bottom of the front page, BUT the topmost headline reads:

Cabinet minister abused expenses -Maria Miller, Culture Secretary, made £1m profit after overclaiming for her mortgage

Oh what a surprise? I don’t mean about the minister’s activities, but the fact this news has coincided with the manifestation of what she and David Cameron engineered.

A busy week in politics

Last Friday’s lead editorial Mrs Miller should say sorry to taxpayers opens:

‘It is almost five years since The Telegraph broke the parliamentary expenses scandal. The revelation that some MPs had abused the expenses system – perpetrating, in some cases, outright fraud – rocked public confidence in British democracy. It led to resignations, deselections, electoral defeats and even the imprisonment of some of the worst offenders. Promises were made that things would be different in the future, that there would be house-cleaning and reform. Failure in some quarters to live up to those fine ambitions is why voters remain so disdainful of Parliament and politicians…’

Readers unfamiliar with this sorry saga wanting an overview will find the whole affair  summarised in:

This last by an ex-trade union official points to the danger in this affair: threatening the freedom of the press. The penultimate item from the Guardian refers to Miller’s other indefensible threat against the independent Parliamentary Standards Commissioner. That is, not so much questionable expense claims, but her other consequential actions are doubly  dangerous!

The whole affair stinks! It is an exceptionally outrageous situation and, as she refuses to resign and PM Cameron refuses to dismiss her, then maybe his ‘fate’ is tied to hers. Not an unreasonable conjecture in view of their mocking the Lord’s ordinance on marriage and the family.

A personal opinion

Personally, as a retired servant of Her Majesty with responsibility for inviting and letting works contracts, and the financial control of major building projects directly responsible to HM Treasury, I am appalled by the unconscionable conduct of this MP.

Is the Living Lord God indicating He isn’t to be mocked and, thereby, letting those who are responsible fall into personal difficulties of their own making?

RESTORATION – today’s stunning Word from the Lord

Restoration per ICEJ – VG

To follow rabbi, Sharon, Gabriel on Jesus as Ko’Jews

NB: this post got published as above days in advance of eventual full publication. So please ignore that brief title and ‘garbled’ text. Those were prompts in draft to remind me what/when I was to write – but as I slept it got published and emailed to subscribers as shown above! (Apologies if you’ve already seen it and were unable to access before this rewrite.)

Yet Daryl Stewart of Rio Vista liked it just as that single ‘coded’ sentence!

But his ‘Like’ completely upset plans for my Saturday!  My following note left on his blog may explain – AND ONLY NOW in getting that inserted link have I noticed what already heads his blog for today and how it directly relates to what’s happened in the last 4 hours. (That is, it was totally unknown to me – what an awesome way our Lord works.)

This is my note inserted on his blog:

Hi Daryl and this is to thank you…especially for your prophetic appreciation of an item for publication –  ie. IN ADVANCE  🙂  BUT it should NOT have been seen!

I don’t know how a quick draft done with abbreviated title and short text of names got on the blog. (I rarely edit by phone but WP’s been upgraded.) It was to remind me to follow up thoughts on the passing of PM Sharon and a couple of prophecies with an excellent piece from Jerusalem on restoration. Yet nothing surprises me any longer…

I was just about to continue with ‘…in my blogging and where the Lord’s pointing me.’ and close by giving you a link to the original item WHEN the doorbell rang downstairs. Postman Tony had a small packet that wouldn’t go through our letterbox, and with it was an envelope from ICEJ.

I knew I had to open it rather than go back to the study/den and finish off this note – IT HAS THE SAME TITLE AND IMAGE AS WHAT I INTENDED BLOGGING ABOUT LATE NEXT WEEK. I just couldn’t stop laughing and as my wife’s at weekend retreat I phoned an elder to relate what’s happened and how it fits into other events of the last 12 hours on my last item and what’s to follow.

My plans were to publish 4 other things in the pipeline first but I guess this matter now comes first – what God has to say has put my plans for the day in total disarray – fantastic, praise you Lord.

Trust this doesn’t ‘blow your mind’ my friend!  As it must be for you too, you deserve an advance ‘peep’ at this excellent item > http://int.icej.org/content/word-jerusalem-city-peace-episode-2?

Click on link to ‘More about Restoration’ (for excellent article I was going to re-post).

Now it’s 10am I’d better get on with my late breakfast and shower, which is normally done at 9am on Sat, BEFORE getting Koenig’s Eye View from White House and scanning emails – yours was at the top and has totally changed my day!!!

Just thought you’d like to know – what an immense laugh, and hope it all makes some sort of sense 🙂

Be mightily blessed and many thanks once again…

Here’s a copy of the magazine’s cover that the postman brought. It should facilitate an appreciation of the extraordinary connection with my intended post on Restoration, the  note to Daryl and the ICEJ video link.

Therefore, it must certainly be something the Lord wishes us to read and comprehend of His restorative plans for the world, the Middle East and the New Season for the Church.

To read the full text of ICEJ leader Dr Jurgen Buhler’s excellent article, click Restoration. For ICEJ website click on this image >>

So, what God has to say put my plans for the day in total disarray!

I’m reminded of 2 Chronicles 16:9…

For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.

Is open political debate the final Christian taboo?

An important consideration that’s generated informed comment as well as opening up discussion, the first response to which has just appeared on Gillan’s blog.

Senior MPs tell the Government to do more to prevent the persecution of Christians globally

This, along with Richard Parkhouse’s comment about Prayer for Parliament, is most informative after learning about the concerns of Muslim leaders here and in Egypt, Kenya and other Muslim nations (as in my earlier post).

Could Obama restore Christianity?

Preposterous as that question seems, this guest post by T.E. Hanna complements the previous item about religio-political stirrings on this side of the ‘pond’.  Readers of long standing are aware of my reservations about POTUS’ claims as a fellow believer. (I recall the inordinate, idolatrous adulation given upon his first election. Incredibly one writer regarded him as C-in-C Theologian!!)  Yet, scripture and Christian leaders point out, as here, he needs our prayers…Lord, grant president Obama a Damascus Road encounter and full baptism in your Holy Spirit.

T.E. puts challenging and pertinent, provocative points which, in my humble opinion, merit careful consideration by American believers.:

HOW BARACK OBAMA IS RESTORING CHRISTIANITY

Author TE HannaHold on. Put the stones down for just a moment. Hear me out.

So you’re a fan of Obama? Fine. Not a fan? Still fine. I’m not particularly interested in political affiliation. I’m far more caught up in the need for the Christian body to reclaim its place as influencers of our nation at a cultural level rather than a political one. And let’s be honest… we’re not exactly making track records in that department.

In the face of our waning cultural influence, followers of Jesus increasingly rally to reclaim a “Christian nation” by working to pass pseudo-Christian legislation and thereby impose the illusion of a Christian presence. We do this, however, without ever really engaging the hearts and minds of individuals where the real influence of the Messiah comes to dwell. This is the problem: we don’t become a Christian nation by teaching people to “act Christian” as a form of civic obedience. We become a Christian nation by reaching the men and women of our communities with the life-altering presence of Christ.

In that regard, Obama is helping us more than we realize.

We Face A Rival Theology

One of the greatest challenges we face in recovering our Christian influence is in the way that the culture of our churches has merged nationalism with Christian theology. We engage the problems of our world very differently when we approach it from a nationalist mindset than we do when we approach it from the perspective of a culturally subversive community that functions as the front lines of a kingdom-not-of-this-world. At the root of this is what we might call a “competing eschatology”.

To quote Old Testament scholar Dr. Peter Enns:

Eschatology means: “We have brought you to where things are as they should be. You are at the place where you can now–finally–have reason to hope. Trust in us. Fear not.” Eschatology means the pinnacle of true humanity, where wrongs are righted, all is at peace, and the human drama comes to its fullest expression.

A nationalist eschatology adopts the utopian vision of government and seeks to bring about this grand pinnacle through the right means of legislation and leadership. It imbues humanity with hope through cultivating trust in those who lead and feeding us the ever-elusive promise of “progress”. In a nationalist eschatology, we place our faith and hope in the system and, if the system is broken, we place our hope in the righting of that system. In the current trend of Christian nationalism, we have bled our theology into this rival promise, looking to that same system to bring about the “utopia” of Christian transformation.

But Ours Is A Divine Narrative

Unfortunately, this rival eschatology is just that: a rival. As seductive as it is, it undermines the Christian hope passed down to us throughout history and embedded within the pages of God’s sweeping narrative of scripture. The Great Story we find ourselves in the midst of is not a story of powerful governments drawing humanity along to an ever brighter future. In fact, the pages of scripture unfold to tell us of a people at the outskirts of civilization, a nation constantly under the dominion of the powerful empire. It speaks to us of a promised messiah, the very being of God himself, who announces a heavenly kingdom before being crucified by an earthly one.

It teaches us of a heavenly calling to an earthly citizenry, the slow cultivation of a community of people who transformed an empire despite existing under that very empire’s persecuting power. It whispers to us of a God who works from the margins and engages the worldly systems through a transformed gathering of His children. It reminds us that to change our world, we must live as those whose citizenship lies beyond the soil upon which we tread.

Our eschatology does not look to presidents or kings. It looks upon the crucified Lord, King of the Jews, and King of all Kings. It looks to the coming heavenly kingdom, a kingdom not of this world.

Obama Reminds Us Who We Are

Regardless where one stands in their view of our president, we cannot help but look with dismay upon the past several months. In the course of this year alone we have faced the prospect of yet another war, the shutdown of our government, and the divisive controversy over healthcare. We have peeled back the curtain, stared the promise of nationalism in the face, and found it wanting. Despite efforts to the contrary, the Obama administration has exposed the vacuousness of the nationalist ideal. I love our nation, but it is not in government that we place our hope. It is in Jesus.

Today (Monday) we celebrate our veterans. We honor and recognize the men and women who fought to retain for us our precious freedom. We can honor them by using that freedom, not by turning to the empty promises of a rival eschatology, but by freely living as the men and women of God who model a different way; a Jesus way. In the midst of our nation, we are still foreigners, emissaries of a heavenly kingdom that is bursting forth all around us. We can yield ourselves to that kingdom, or we can yield ourselves to this one.

Only one truly offers us hope for humanity’s future.

Is a muscular defence of our national Judaeo-Christian heritage needed?

Courtesy of James Mark Long, www.propheticartists.comIn line with what many prophetical voices have brought from the Lord for 2013+, we are seeing a marked emphasis upon a ‘new era’ for the wider church. In tandem with this, secular and political opinions are being aired not so much on the irrelevance of Christianity but more for its values and how they can be re-applied within society. Gillan Scott brings a valuable contribution to this debate and generated further thoughts, including on Revival, in his blog’s discussion thread.

Why one Christian doctor’s attempts to highlight failures cost him his job

This in-depth summary of Dr Drew’s situation by Gillan Scott is commendable. Its disturbing contents remind me of the political interference so clearly evident in my correspondence with a NHS Primary Care Trust in 2009 (section 2 here refers).

The door into the ‘New Season’ is open

After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, “Come up here and I will show you things which must take place after this”… (Revelation chapter 4:1-2 The Throne Room of Heaven, NKJV)

Leading into and after the new year 2013, I blogged about a doorway into the heavenly realms opening up (see links below). To my pleasant surprise, I learnt last weekend the Jewish New Year that started on 4th September is symbolised by a doorway!

And I was even more surprised to sense in tandem with this that the Lord is prompting and awakening His people to become more aware of political v. faith issues, as well as to get prepared and trained for ruling on earth – not heaven – when the true Millennium manifests!

This new year is 5774 in the Jewish calendar and digit 4 is represented by the Hebrew letter Dalet which is, according to Melissa Flores, “the picture of a hanging tent door. The door, dalet, also can mean the movement of one coming from or going into the tent.”  Her interesting explanation of this year’s meaning – and therefore expectation – may be read at link 4 below. Party politicians ‘Do God’

liberal-democrats-do-godMy attention has been drawn to a new book about Christians within politics, Liberal Democrats Do God. (NB: I don’t support any party.)

There have been many reviews, but  I would suggest your reading Gillan Scott’s attempt to get beyond all the sensationalist headlines on his well-informed blog here.

This reminded me that the Lib Dems president, Tim Farron, took a lot of stick last year in supporting Healing On The Streets against the Advertising Standards Authority. They were determined to prevent churches in Bath offering to pray in public for anyone who wished to receive prayers for healing. Eventually this reached Parliament, where HOTS  Bath gave a presentation to MPs, as I reported in Healing in Parliament.  For personal reasons, the early months of this blog were spent supporting my friend Paul Skelton’s struggle, which eventually resulted in victory (here, also see tags below).

As regards the book, Gillan is of the opinion,

The greatest achievement of this book is to give Christians in the Liberal Democrat party an opportunity to confidently stand tall without being ashamed of their faith. It says, ‘Look we’re Christians, we’re not embarrassed and we have nothing to hide. We believe our politics is better for it and not worse. We believe we have something that is of great value and we’re not going to water it down.’

and he concludes with a challenge:

What surely ought to follow from this is a similar exercise from Christians in other parties. David Cameron has made it be known that Conservatives ‘do God’. Are others willing to publicly join this declaration that Christianity should be firmly at the centre of politics and not just an onlooker from the sidelines?

Hopefully, we will see many more believers standing on the Rock in this ‘new season’  (open vision refers)! In respect of which, Glasgow Prophetic Centre delivered this ‘Lion Bite’ on Monday.:

The Rock

Come to Me – I am all that you need.

Though people and circumstances shift all around you, I am your Rock.

I am steadfast and I am faithful.

Come stand upon Me child and you will feel safe and secure.

As you stand upon The Rock you will gain a heavenly perspective of yourself, your circumstances and your life and it will become clear that I am all that you need.

Psalm 18:2 The LORD is my rock, my fortress, and my saviour; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety.

Amen.

A Biblical relevance to Cameron’s ‘judgement call’?

Truly, I much prefer covering prophetical rather than political/military matters. But some things based upon the Word of God need saying when the occasion arises. So I’ll be brief:

This time last week I read reports of mobilisation around the eastern Med and the Gulf in preparing for a US missile strike upon Syria by the weekend. In view of the ‘ready-to-go’ status, I wasn’t surprised my son’s flight in that region set for Friday was brought forward to early Thursday. PM Cameron had urgently recalled Parliament from its Summer recess and later that day sought all MP’s backing for military support of the US and associates’ attack. The PM has been concerned over the very dreadful plight of civilians in Syria and long canvassed Obama for action of one sort or another.

(The US has trained Syrian rebels in Jordan, who’ve already been in action. Assad had warned this would trigger retribution, including use of chemical weapons – see DebkaFile’s analysis with their original report of mid-August).

D CameronThursday evening’s news referred to PM Cameron stressing that military action is a “Judgement call” – see Channel4 News and Friday’s The Independent. As we know, the PM lost the House’s vote. Much has been written about this and so I’ll be succinct. It’s noteworthy that after having heard Cameron tell him UK is unable to help the US, Obama suddenly changed his mind about the strike – not even telling his military chiefs or allies! (DebkaFile refers.)

What struck me is, not so much the complete about-turn by both leaders, as a likely connection with both having forsaken the ways of the Lord and failing to stand on his Word – God is not mocked!

Let’s recall from a previous post on the US Administration’s problems how the Amplified Bible spells out chapter 6 of Paul’s letter to the Galatians:

Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. [BibleGateway

We cannot pretend to know how the Lord is working in all this, but it’s instructive to note the PM’s “judgement call” may have a deeper connotation than is ordinarily assumed!

Cameron railroaded through Parliament a completely unnecessary Statute to redefine marriage. His American mentor has led nationally and internationally in this and now faces troubles across several fronts, including the Muslim Brotherhood (see this by Joel Rosenberg).

Thus, they’re reaping as they’ve sown within their very own political system. AND it has come through attempting to deal with an evil regime in cahoots with another – but how can our leaders expect to be righteous in this issue when they’re not in others?

So, this round has been won by the ‘Ezekiel 38 Alliance’, or ‘axis’ as David Blair terms it in his commentary West’s failure to act.  Analysing America’s three main interests in the Syrian issues, Caroline Glick hits the nail on the head in Obama’s bread and circuses.   International Business Editor for the Telegraph, Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, also makes several good points in A Fairly Honourable Defeat. This comes with insights from his father’s involvement in Syria in 1942.

Yesterday’s development is the proposed transfer of Assad’s chemical weapons into deep shelters in Iran, thereby averting any US attack (report here) and possibly using  the move as a bargaining chip. [Debka reported  ahead of the invasion of Iraq that Saddam Hussein’s WMD stock was moved into Syria. Many years later I noted the ‘Vicar of Baghdad’, Canon Andrew White, corroborate this claim on TV.]  A fortnight ago Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned,

“Syria has become Iran’s testing ground….Iran is watching and it wants to see what would be the reaction on the use of chemical weapons.”

Today brings news of joint US-Israel tests at sea of interceptive missile systems for protection of Israel and Jordan in the event of the conflict expanding into the region.

So tensions continue to simmer near boiling point….
