7th Anniversary of Watching

Courtsey StoonnDedicated to personal and cyber friends and readers who’ve followed my musings over the years – kindly bear with any repetition below.

On the last day of February seven years ago I emailed some friends in various churches about how I’d been stunned upon opening my Bible. Having been in touch about the previous year’s events in Lakeland, Florida, we continued chatting occasionally. However, my attention was suddenly directed to look at Biblical prophecies in much more depth.

We will see how this may be relevant to the previous post but first, in celebrating that date, let me repeat the opening of that two-part email (click title to read in full – and I hope the many links below don’t cause readers any scrolling problems):

Netanyahu and Jerusalem mayor correct Cameron

Prime Ministerial meeting 2011 (Jewish Chronicle)

A quick update to the previous post wherein I drew to a close by referring to David Cameron’s criticism of Israel’s settlements around East Jerusalem. The British PM is a friend of Israel yet answered a Parliamentary Question about conditions in Jerusalem in a highly critical vein (see Independent).

According to The Jerusalem Post, Bibi’s brief response during a political gathering was to remind everyone of Cameron’s undoubted friendship and said Europe should remember that Israeli sovereignty over Jerusalem prevents Islamic State and Hamas from burning holy sites in the capital, as they have done elsewhere. In addition to that prevention he said, “only Israeli sovereignty ensures Arab residents of the city have roads, clinics, places of employment and all the other means of normal life that their brothers do not enjoy throughout the Middle East”.

Jerusalem’s mayor Nir Barkat was the first official to respond to Cameron’s criticism with several detailed corrections about the city and its organisation and which may be read in that JP article. Also, ‘Barkat took the PA and surrounding Muslim countries to task for not meaningfully aiding their own people, while the Israeli government has provided a far higher standard of living for Arab residents’.

In closing let’s note the British Government’s commendable action against BDS (Boycott Divestment & Sanctions) movement by issuing guidance preventing public bodies from imposing a boycott on a member of the World Trade Organization to which Israel belongs. According to Melanie Philips local boycotts breach the WTO Government Procurement Agreement, which demands that all suppliers are treated equally. (Her Facebook has in-depth report. Political potpourri on USA & Middle East

Hand with News icon - WatcharakunUSA detains renowned UK peacemaker as major terror threat! – Obama eventually meets Jordan’s king – French official anti-Semitism continues to stir hornet’s nest…

[OED: ‘potpourri’ – origin French ‘rotten pot’]

Yesterday – 2nd item

Facebook is weird – well my blog’s page is. It doesn’t work like normal personal profiles and timelines as it got set up as a business page. I comment on some Facebook pages but can’t on others, and although I ‘like’ others’ pages I’ve yet to find a way to get their updates. So I check Facebook occasionally. Yesterday was the first time this week and I was nudged to check what Canon Andrew White may have posted on his page. I was amazed to read his latest:

“23 February: WELL IT IS NOW OFFICIAL I AM A MAJOR TERRORIST THREAT.

SC-Pic1 andrew white“Not only did I have problems in Israel the other day the Americans have assured me I am a major terror threat to the USA and they have given me a piece of paper to prove it. They let me in this time but next time I have got to get official approval before I come. So I have not even got to the Nashville meeting yet, missed our flight there and don’t even know how and when we can get there. As I always say “Take Risk’s”. Blessings from Chicago.”

(If you don’t know who the ‘Vicar of Baghdad’ is then read his Facebook bio.)

Only a few days before that Andrew had been in Jerusalem and Jordan, where he’d met an archbishop of the Syriac Orthodox Church. On FRRME he reports what happened in en-route to USA …“I set off for America where I am speaking at the National Religious Broadcasters Convention in Nashville. On my way there I was stopped under terrorism legislation and detained at the O’Hare International Airport in Chicago. After many hours I was given a temporary visa and allowed to travel inside the US. It just goes to show how suspicious American security agencies are of Iraqis and those of us who still visit that beautiful but divided country.”

What else can we expect of a once-superpower nation? As Potus (President Of The United States) isn’t concerned about worldwide persecution of Christians – effectively genocide! – and appoints not even half-baked sycophantic administrators who kowtow to his gross failure to understand and recognise the roots of terrorism (as I’ve blogged many times, eg: here, herehere, here and dismissal of CIA/FBI intel), then such crass stupidity at O’Hare is par for the course.

And that’s not even touching the way Obama personally treats allies!!!

Yesterday – 1st item

Jordan-KingAbdullah-fatiguesBefore checking Canon White’s Facebook I’d already noted Joel Rosenberg again blasting Potus for insulting the USA’s close ally, Jordan’s King Abdullah II: “In January, Mr Obama snubbed the Hashemite monarch on his visit to Washington. The White House initially said the President was too busy to meet with the King. In the end, the President spent a mere five minutes with His Majesty at Andrews Air Force Base before departing on a political trip…he had refused a serious, substantive meeting with the West’s most important and faithful Sunni Arab ally a priority, and America’s allies and enemies were watching.”

However, after their meeting in The White House later yesterday the official joint press release opens:

“We spent the bulk of our discussion around the situation in Syria, Iraq, and our joint efforts to combat ISIL. Jordan has been an outstanding partner in that process. As I’ve said publicly, we have seen progress in pushing back against ISIL in territory both in Iraq and now in some portions of Syria. But a lot of work remains to be done. And so the coordination between our nations and other coalition partners is absolutely critical. And Jordan has made enormous contribution. Jordan is a country that punches above its weight when it comes to the fight against ISIL…”

In closing President Obama remarked,

“Finally, we discussed the situation in Israel and the West Bank, and the increasing tensions that exist between Israelis and Palestinians there. His Majesty has been a critical component of reducing some of the immediate sources of tension around the Temple Mount and visits there. But we continue to agree that it’s important for us to provide both sides a sense of possibility and hope, and not simply despair. That’s hard to do. And so we have explored ideas in terms of how we can make progress. But His Majesty has continued to be a voice of reason and moderation and tolerance for all the parties concerned in this issue. And we very much appreciate his partnership in the process….”

However, The Hill (Washington-based newspaper covering Congressional affairs) reports an article in West Point’s Combating Terrorism Centre by the former head of US Central Commander as saying the truth is exactly the opposite of what Potus and senior advisors are saying about ISIL. (Read Joel Rosenberg for extracts.)

More on Palestine & France

I also read Debka’s special report about US Secretary of State John Kerry in Jordan, ‘Abu Mazen rebuffs Kerry’s appeal to cool Palestinian terror against Israelis’.:

‘US Secretary of State John Kerry came away empty-handed from his latest meeting with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmud Abbas (Abu Mazen) in Amman on Sunday, Feb 21 – which shouldn’t have surprised him as it was par for the course. Debkafile’s Middle Eastern sources report Kerry was finally persuaded that Abbas would not give Israel an inch on any political or security-related matters. The Palestinian leader has never swerved from his conviction that it was the duty of the international community to force Israel to present the Palestinians with a state of their own – without direct negotiations.

‘To this end, Kerry found Abu Mazen clinging to the initiative put forward by French President Francois Hollande, for an international conference that will establish a Palestinian state, while letting the Palestinians off the hook of talks with Israel. France in fact warned Israel that without progress towards a two-state solution of the conflict, Paris would go ahead and recognize a Palestinian state on its own.

‘The Palestinian leader is determined to campaign on behalf of the French initiative in the coming month, undeterred by the US Secretary’s repeated warning that Washington will not go along with it, even if France puts it before the UN Security Council…’ (emphases RB)  Read the full informative report here.

Further to my coverage of Caroline Glick’s excellent articles on political anti-semitism in France, I regret to report support for this by Dr. Guy Millière, professor at the University of Paris, author of 27 books on France and Europe. In France’s Relentless Hostility to the Jewish State published by The Gatestone Institute, he opens:

“France today is one of the main enemies of Israel — maybe its main enemy — in the Western world. France’s disregard of the threats faced by Israel is more than simple willful blindness. It is complicity….”

This synopsis doesn’t cover the outrageous Dreyfus Affair that rocked France around the turn of 19th/20th Centuries. It was one of a myriad intriguing aspects of my school studies on modern European history because it centered around a ‘miscarriage of justice arising from faulty espionage and blatant anti-Semitism’.

Also yesterday

As a known supporter of Israel, PM Cameron spoke in Parliament against settlements built around East Jerusalem. His future will be of interest in these changing times…

BUT as the Palestinian leadership has never been serious about peace negotiations an intelligent person would ask, why should Israel hang on for decades getting nowhere? It’s only commonsense to get on with ordinary life and make sure there’s somewhere to live. Had Abbas the brain to abandon the moribund mindset of victim-hood and settle with Israel, these issues could have been resolved years ago and settlements no longer an issue.

BBC headlines quote Queen proclaiming the Gospel on Christmas Day

In delighted astonishment we heard BBC News voice-over-video headlines announce on Christmas Day that the Queen had said,

“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.”

Moreover, I realised that by declaring a scriptural statement as Head of the Church of England and hereditary Defender Of The Faith, and in its being heralded and announced by national media, our longest reigning monarch’s biblical declaration has the power of a prophetic decree. (If you’re unfamiliar with this principle see this two-part report on spiritual alignment and decrees.)

The Queen’s Christmas Broadcast to the Commonwealth follows the pattern set by King George V (her grandfather) in the very first broadcast in 1932. Upon introducing this startling innovation he opened it with, “I speak now from my home and from my heart to you all“.

Yearly our sister in the Lord refers to her Christian belief as a source of inspiration and comfort. This Christmas Her Majesty made no bones about the majesty of her faith, as in forthright yet gracious remarks about the Good News of God in the birth of Jesus Christ..

Soon after opening, Her Majesty speaks about reflecting upon the year’s events,

“Many people say the first Christmas after losing a loved one is particularly hard. But it’s also a time to remember all that we have to be thankful for.

“It is true that the world has had to confront moments of darkness this year, but the Gospel of John contains a verse of great hope, often read at Christmas carol services: ‘The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it’.”

Jesus’ Message of Love

She continues by referring to the custom Queen Victoria and Prince Albert introduced of using fir-trees at Christmas, and every year since WWII the people of Oslo send a huge tree for erection in Trafalgar Square. (Over 1,000 years ago our Saxon kings brought our ancient Viking enemies to Christ, especially Olaf 1 of Norway.)

Furthermore, Her Majesty related this and Jesus’ birth to the contemporary migration of refugees to Europe:

“…(this London tree) has five hundred light-bulbs and is enjoyed not just by Christians but by people of all faiths, and of none. At the very top sits a bright star, to represent the Star of Bethlehem.

“The custom of topping a tree also goes back to Prince Albert’s time. For his family’s tree, he chose an angel, helping to remind us that the focus of the Christmas story is on one particular family.

“For Joseph and Mary, the circumstances of Jesus’s birth — in a stable – were far from ideal, but worse was to come as the family was forced to flee the country. It’s no surprise that such a human story still captures our imagination and continues to inspire all of us who are Christians, the world over.

Despite being displaced and persecuted throughout his short life, Christ’s unchanging message was not one of revenge or violence but simply that we should love one another. Although it is not an easy message to follow, we shouldn’t be discouraged; rather, it inspires us to try harder: to be thankful for the people who bring love and happiness into our own lives, and to look for ways of spreading that love to others, whenever and wherever we can.” (Emphasis added.)

Read her message in full on the official website The British Monarchy, or watch the above video.

A couple of Press reports

In Monarch quotes from Bible to address a nation shaken by a year of atrocities, the Telegraph’s religious affairs team open as follows,

‘The Queen used her Christmas Day broadcast to make one of her most overtly religious addresses to the nation in recent years. Quoting directly from the Gospel of John, she spoke of light which “shines in the darkness” which she described as a “verse of great hope”.

‘Her comments come at the end of a year in which Britain has been stunned by terrorist atrocities, from the mass shootings and bombings in Paris last month to the gun attack at a Tunisia resort during the summer.

‘Reflecting on the past 12 months, the monarch said: “It is true that the world has had to confront moments of darkness this year. But the Gospel of John contains a verse of great hope, often read at Christmas carol services: ‘The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it’.”

That broadsheet’s Boxing Day editorial also notes,

‘Britain’s religious leaders are in the mood for telling home truths. In a stark Christmas sermon, the Most Rev Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, compared the Jihadist threat to King Herod, to whom Cardinal Vincent Nichols, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church in England and Wales, also alluded. In the Bible, Herod orders the massacre of young children in a delirious attempt to kill Jesus Christ. In today’s Middle East, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (Isil) is no less bloodthirsty.

‘It murders critics and religious minorities, enforcing its religious code with violence. It represents a fanatical perversion of Islam, and to defeat it, the West must understand its motivations. Religious leaders, educated in theological nuance, are well placed to decode its language. Archbishop Welby told congregants that it seeks to trigger an “apocalypse… defined by themselves and heralded only by the angel of death”. Isil cannot coexist with Western democracy. It is hell-bent on destroying it.’

I’ve underscored the essential key to the solution that too many illiterate and misinformed political leaders have totally ignored to people’s peril.

There is more Encouragement for the Dawn of 2016, as reported by Prophecy Today UK:

“Despite all the problems our nation has faced over the last year, we at Prophecy Today found a little encouragement over the Christmas season to hear the Prime Minister’s affirmation of Christian values in our nation (see latest – RB) and also the Education Secretary’s resolve to promote the Christian heritage of Britain in our schools.”

It will be interesting to watch how all this may tie in with prophetical words received lately and being delivered in the coming months…

Why this September is special: Update 2 – Islam

You may recall that September was a very busy month prophecy-wise (see Archive). One special day brought two distinct surprises.

In fact, there wasn’t opportunity to finish blogging about that month but, in view of an event on that significant date – as well as what’s since happened relating to September Update 1: Judaism – I now need to start covering the changes within Islam:

Anniversary of 9/11 Atrocity

2C31B11700000578-3231117-image-m-28_1441992736986On the anniversary of this century’s ‘day of infamy’ for New York I noted another event seemed to connect into the collapse of the Twin Towers – as well as possibly being of God, or was it simply coincidence?  Lightning from a severe thunderstorm in Mecca struck a tall crane, which collapsed into the Grand Mosque thereby killing and injuring hundreds.

The construction engineer is quoted as saying, “It was an act of God”. A ‘very saddened’ British imam is reputed to have said, “It’s a blessing in disguise for those killed”. Four days later Saudi Arabia’s King Salman suspended contracts for the construction company, which is owned by the Bin Ladin family!

Nevertheless, it ‘struck’ me that it’s a mirror ‘action replay’ on the 14th anniversary of the attack upon America, inspired as it was by the teachings and practices of the Meccan founder of Islam. That is, the very heart of the homeland and faith of those modern religious plotters and perpetrators was visited by an almost similar ‘toppling of a tower’. Also, my first impression was of The Almighty throwing down the gauntlet to confront satan.

It’s far, far too uncanny not to be of poignant significance!

Also and especially, I couldn’t but reflect upon the revelation I received 23 years ago upon the ‘fall of Islam’ (as in last December’s Fulfilled Prophecies 2). My understanding is that many Muslims would become disillusioned with their beliefs and seek a better concept and relationship with the One True God, as happened when those in communist USSR wanted a better and prosperous life. Thus, in 1989 they dismantled the iconic barrier between East and West – the Berlin Wall.

Readers of my post on Rosh Hashanah may have noticed Johnny Enlow’s reference in the prophetic word he delivered,

“Since 9/11 of 2001 it has seemed that radical Islam has become activated and empowered as never before. The Kingdom reality is that more Muslims have encountered and embraced Jesus since 2001 than in the entire history of Islam which is well over 1000 years.”

Garrison bookJuly/August’s edition of IDEA (Evangelical Alliance’s magazine) had featured this news as ‘The largest spiritual migration in history’, including an article by researcher David Garrison. In A Wind in the House of Islam he refers to 9/11 as ‘a hinge’! (Click image to ‘look inside’ this excellent, informative book.)

Dr. Garrison states this new global study reveals that the first Muslim movement to Christ did not occur until the 19th century, over 1000 years after Muhammad’s message first echoed from the minarets of Medina. This first movement was followed by a further ten Muslim movements to Christ in the late 20th century. But something now is happening. In the first 12 years of the 21st century, we have already seen more than 60 new Muslim movements to Christ! (For more visit WindintheHouse.org) He defines a ‘movement’ as at least 1,000 baptised believers or 100 new church starts.`

Meanwhile in London

Israel_UK 11 Sept15In view of September’s schedule and prophecy-related events I was surprised to read about the Israeli Prime minister’s private visit to London to confer with Prime Minister David Cameron.

Update on Cameron’s speech – diplomatic/military component against IS

Cameron_latestAt long last a politician has punched a ‘PC’ idol in the teeth! (PC = political correctness aka. political clap-trap)

Contributing Editor to The Commentator, Clare George-Hilley, has summarised David Cameron’s speech and the strap-line to her report reads,

Prime Minister David Cameron has announced new measures to crack down on Islamic extremism at home and abroad. For far too long, political correctness has allowed this wicked ideology to flourish. Cameron’s remarks may seem late in the day to some, but he’s on the right track at last.

She opens Cameron campaign against Islamic extremism is long overdue with,

‘Today, in front of British Muslims in Birmingham, David Cameron made his first major domestic speech on how to tackle Islamist extremism in our country.  It is poignant that Cameron chose to give his speech in Birmingham, the place where the schools were infiltrated as part of the Trojan Horse plot, where extremists sought to indoctrinate the minds of innocent children…

‘For many years, I and many other commentators, political activists and counter-terrorism experts have been recommending and asking for measures that the government can tangibly apply to combat Islamic extremism in Britain and abroad. The warning signs have been clearly visible in our country for many years…’

After noting political tolerance of intolerance allowed extremists to exploit our freedom of speech laws to preach hatred on our streets, Clare covers her favourite part of the speech (emphases mine):

‘The best, and most important, part of his speech was when he finally came round to the notion that violent extremism exists at the apex of a broader Islamist narrative:

“It may begin with hearing about the so-called Jewish conspiracy, and then develop into hostility to the West and fundamental liberal values before finally becoming a cultish attachment to death. Put another way, the extremist worldview is the gateway, and then violence is the ultimate destination,” the prime minister said.

‘Not so many years ago, such (obviously correct and pertinent) remarks would have drawn charges of “Islamophobia” in some quarters. Cameron deserves praise for moving the debate in the right direction, however late in the day it may now be.’

Diplomatic Component

British_Foreign_Se_3378279b AFP

Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conference at the latter’s office in Jerusalem – credit AFP

The timing and content of this major speech by David Cameron must surely be directly connected with action being taken against those who murder British citizens and others – and apparently with the outcome of last week’s nuclear power deal with Iran (aka. the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action – JCPOA).

One of the signatories to the JCPOA, British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond, went to Israel to tell PM Netanyahu officially of the agreement’s full terms. But he went under a mistaken understanding. He presumed Israel doesn’t want any deal whatsoever with Iran, just a permanent stand-off or continuing conflict – and said as much in Parliament before leaving (as here). So Netanyahu took him to task during their public meeting in Jerusalem:

“Israelis know better than anyone else the cost of permanent conflict with Iran and it is wrong to suggest that Israel wants such an outcome. We seek a genuine and effective diplomatic solution,”

“The alternative to this deal is not war. The alternative is a better deal that would roll back Iran’s military nuclear program and tie the easing of restrictions on Iran’s nuclear program to changes in Iran’s behaviour. That’s the kind of deal that would be welcomed in Tel Aviv and here in Israel’s capital Jerusalem.”

This morning another part of that meeting in Jerusalem emerged in connection with Isil – and how the nuclear deal means Iran will be taking more action against Isil, as reported exclusively by DebkaFile:

‘Although the Secretary’s formal mission was to elucidate the accord to Israel’s leaders, his real purpose was to hand him a letter from British Prime Minister David Cameron. In this letter, Cameron explained that his decision to extend RAF bombing missions from Iraq to Syria (depending on parliament’s approval in September) had nothing to do with Washington’s policies, but was solely motivated by the Islamist threat hanging over British national security.
‘Britain, he said, was not acting in support of the Syrian-Iranian-Hizballah lineup against the Islamist group; nor was it part of the Obama administration’s turnabout in favor of supporting Syrian President Bashar Assad. British bombers would target ISIS in the UK’s own interests.

Note the comment about yet another of Obama’s turnarounds – in favour of Syria!  This is because of Iran’s close interest in supporting their puppet Assad. Please read that Debka report to appreciate what’s started, or already happening, on the ground.

Is Debka’s claim about British diplomatic/military action credible? They are the ones who broke the news of secret US-Iran back-channels communications being set up soon after Obama’s inauguration – and prior to his infamous Cairo speech to the Muslim word. (Read Today’s Importance in History, 18 May 2009 and note especially the Arab world’s alarm at Obama’s activity. They were vindicated by last week’s nuclear deal.)  Therefore, there are reasonable grounds for regarding the Debka report as reliable.

So we now glimpse what’s happening behind closed doors and how determined David Cameron is to deal with and, if at all possible, remove Islamist extremism here.

Political common-sense emerges on Islamist threat

The Times front-page headline on a major speech Prime Minister Cameron is making today:

The Times Monday 20 July 2015

(Click image to enlarge – their young award-winning journalist continues on page 4 as follows) “…loss of British citizens in a terrorist attack, happened before the Iraq war.

“When they say that these are wronged Muslims getting revenge on western wrong- doing, lets remind them: from Kosovo to Somalia, countries like Britain have stepped in the save Muslim people from massacres. It’s groups like Isil, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram that are the ones murdering Muslims….etc.”  [Murdoch papers require subscription.]

For the latest with video read the Telegraph’s David Cameron speech: my five-year plan to tackle extremism – Live; or The Independent’s online report here.

The PM’s announcement is long overdue in view of nationwide reaction to last month’s appalling massacre of 30 British holidaymakers in Sousse, Tunisia (see Wikipedia), and the fact that Islamists declared war on the West a long time ago! He is delivering upon his statement in the House of Commons after Sousse for the UK to be “intolerant of intolerance”. (NB: Contemporaneous killings were committed in France and Kuwait too – see The West’s war against Jihadi terrorism is just beginning.)

In his citing events from the 1990s caused by maniacal Muslims, I’m sure Cameron is well aware it’s been periodically endemic since the foundation of their religion in the Dark Ages. An insight into a global satanic strategy covered that historic fact in depth a few months ago. There, we looked at the cause of the Medieval crusades as a reaction to Muslim violence – not vice versa! – and how warped thinking poisoned the Greek-based mind-sets of liberals.

In addition to those earlier facts I’d also refer the PM to the total estimated murders by Muslims since 9/11: over 26,400! (The Religion of Peace database.)  BUT this may be undercounted and need doubling, as determined by the BBC’s ‘thorough analysis’.

!cid_image002_jpg@01CDBDD2Two years ago I blogged about the PM’s comment “A war against al-Qaeda could last decades”, and considered it further in a subsequent post wherein I wrote:

Winston Churchill foresaw of the danger of militant Islam in 1899! His trenchant opinion, based upon personal military service in The Sudan, speaks with great insight and I quote only the portion pertinent to this post.::

“…Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome…”  [Read full extract in Wikipedia’s The River War.]

Notes:

  1. Churchill’s criticism spread wherever he found fault, including the British high command!
  2. I know many Muslims (eg. medical staff) who are a jewel in humanity and, therefore, totally unlike those deranged extremists.

Stunning General Election results – is God behind them?

Cloud over Windsor June 2011

Three weeks ago today citizens of the United Kingdom voted for their representatives as Members of Parliament. Overnight exit polls and the next day’s final results shocked most analysts and pundits.

MAGNA CARTA

In fact, such a change is highly appropriate for this 800th anniversary year of a far more revolutionary political act: King John’s agreement to affix his seal to the Magna Carta. The gathering of his barons in a Thames-side meadow at Runnymede, a few miles outside Windsor, to present the large petitionary document to the king, will be commemorated in a civic ceremony on the actual anniversary,15th June, at a memorial built by our American cousins.

The world famous Magna Carta or ‘Great Charter’ was a practical solution to the political and financial crisis facing the king in 1215, yet it laid the foundation of liberty – of individual freedom, parliamentary democracy and subjection not to royalty, but to the supremacy of law.

That is, it established for the first time the principle that everybody, including the king, was subject to the common law of the land. The British Library states that, although nearly a third of the text was deleted or substantially rewritten within ten years, and almost all its clauses have been repealed in modern times, Magna Carta still remains a cornerstone of the British constitution. I’d add that its great influence extends to the Commonwealth’s and to the United States of America’s legal systems.

Now let’s consider some apolitical observations and possibly prophetical points.  I’m rather ‘long in the tooth’ and therefore cynical about politics. At the time of the election we were preparing to go away for some rest and recuperation. Hence the delay in blogging. Even so, when I got around to starting this post’s draft last week I was directed to look up a special photo, as above, which sync’d into what I had in mind, as explained below.

ELECTION RESULTS

Three of UK’s main political parties got thrashed and trashed on 7th May 2015. Leaders of the coalition Liberal Democrats and opposition Labour parties resigned and the leader of the UK Independence Party lost his seat with ensuing furore over leadership. Astonishing wins of the Scottish Nationalist Party in taking its seats from 6 to 56 brought a wholesale change to politics north of the border, as indicated in this cartoon by Adams (click image for more). It was a night of shocking surprises for many well-known MPs in the loss of their seats.

ADAMS20150508end3_3296199k

Something unique happened and marked 8th May as a historic day – maybe a tipping point in not only Britain’s political but also spiritual status?  It presages remarkable winds-of-change blowing right across and re-shaping the political spectrum. It stunned not only politicians but also pundits – and particularly in proving the latter unsound.

We’d taken scant notice of pre-election news and discussions for we loathe carping speculation of ‘talking heads’. As Christians, we have serious reservations about most parties’ policies, but the Prime Minister’s saving grace is that of not being anti-Israel. As the Lord was behind the changes, that point may well have helped David Cameron. AND, he is going to sort out the BBC at long last! (See Tories going to war with BBC.)

That said, here are my observations in sequential relevance:

1. Cloud Over Windsor 2011

Alan May’s above photo of a cloud taken from Windsor on Garter Day June 2011 seems prophetical.  Does it hint at a separation between Scotland and mainland Britain?  The fact it was taken there may be of profound significance. (More details in this post about prayers in Parliament and about Windsor – note reference to ringing of bell in the first. The link to the photo has been taken down because of overwhelming demand upon the source article – a newspaper in Newbury, Berks.)

2. Vision of Bells in Scotland

Does Tony Puccio’s vision in far away Tucson, Arizona, of bells ringing in Scotland relate to the great jubilation of the SNP and voters? It sure does! In early April Tony blogged:

“I’m going to go out on a limb here and post this. Earlier in the afternoon of 4/16/2015 I was driving home and I began to hear bells ringing. I saw and heard church bells in steeples ringing smaller bells as well were ringing. They were ringing over Scotland.  I’m not sure as to their purpose but I just am posting what I was seeing and hearing.”

It attracted many comments and I remarked, “Ha bells again Tony – that’s how we linked up in 2012! (see ‘Get Ready’ – Paul Revere’s Ride and revival in UK) This time my first impression is of definite warning in view of next month’s elections…nationalist party strongly rocking the boat, probably going to trash Labour Party… There have been plenty of strong prophetic words for Scotland, however, and maybe it’s time to ‘ring out these changes’!” (eg see Dr Sharon Stone, Jane Hamon and the McKies – emphasis added)

Regarding deception over voting in Scotland and divisive power see Revd Dr Clifford Hill’s warning Call to pray for the UK.

3. Lord, Turn The Tide!

I was astonished the election results could show that my prayer request “Lord, turn the tide in the UK” seems to have been met in a promising way. Also in connection with the strongly anti-Christian policies dominating and contributing to the decay of society’s moral fibre, maybe it relates to the Rock (being Christ) I saw emerge through a tear in the rotten fabric of our national life, as in the open vision that confronted me in 2004. (For details read Comments upon the collapse of Society.)

4. Sharon Stone’s Remarks

At her Windsor mentoring day on 9th May Dr Sharon Stone taught on patterns and principles of developing a ‘forerunner’s heart’. She said on these occasions there is always a tug-of-war between disappointment and excitement but this shaking leaves a vulnerability because of people resigning and leaving their positions. So, there’s now an unexpected period of re-establishment and things manoeuvering around that the enemy can take advantage of.

Therefore, prophetic intercessors should be taking advantage of this to turn things around because, even though there have been significant changes, all these things need praying through. As a historical example, Sharon referred to the monarchy’s actions in Windsor of calling out the sick to line up for healing prayer! (Akin to Maunday Thursday practices?) She then said,

“God is shifting the church today. We all have to be more inclusive in all areas, we’ve got to ascend from the priestly area of worship and devotion to that of prophetic revelation and to the apostolic decree as well in both worship and prayer – (thus) we can proclaim what He says.”

Sharon taught on how the account in Acts 12 of Peter’s supra-natural release from prison can be applied to opening up civic and governmental places and situations to the Kingdom of God – keys to open and shut gates of our cities. We’re not just to watch and protect but open up our communities to the purposes of God, that Jesus be glorified in the midst of people, seen for who He really is and that He be loved and accepted there.

5. Revd Ken Gott

The next session on the power of Godly inheritance was delivered by Ken Gott of House of Prayer Europe in Sunderland. He gave an example of how this happened personally via the influence of a man, whose mother had been saved through a miraculous, re-creative healing at a meeting held by early 20th Century evangelist Stephen Jeffreys. That young son’s very first convert was Ken’s great-grandmother.

On the recent election, Ken remarked,

“Something of God happened in the election….I confirm that something of the Spirit moved in that election, moved in our nation. Political commentators got it drastically wrong, the commentators were shocked, the pollsters were amazed how wrong they got it – and everybody’s looking at each other saying we never saw this, we never saw it!

“I’m not saying I’m for the Tories, for a Tory government, for David Cameron, or whatever – but what we need is God. And God orchestrated it…

“I believe we will yet find out that God orchestrated something in the last couple of days! I’m 100% totally, totally convinced of it!”

“We’d been praying all day that we would have Godly men, men who were taught righteously, that they would be courageous in their decision-making and be Godly. We prayed and covered the whole election from the time the polling stations were opened to the time they closed and the ballot boxes were opened…and God heard…

“And yet when that exit poll came out I knew God had answered that prayer, not only of ours but of others too…”

6. 70-year Period

After his message I approached Ken and Michael Marcell, who was with him, and asked both if they’d noticed the ‘coincidence’ of the previous day’s doubly historic events being related to a 70-year period – and possibly a Biblical one at that!

The 8th May not only brought the amazing election results for a new government’s historic victory but also celebrated the 70th anniversary of VE-Day (1945 Victory in Europe over Nazi Germany). Also, that day’s VE-Day memorial service at the Cenotaph, Whitehall, was attended by all political leaders – The Telegraph’s sub-line: ‘Cruel quirk of timing throws defeated leaders Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg together with victors David Cameron and Nicola Sturgeon’.

7. Cindy Jacobs’ Word for UK

A few days later Michael met Cindy Jacobs, who too remarked upon the significance of the election and brought a greatly encouraging prophetic word for the UK, as copied in this earlier post.

HA, LOL – an unintentional 7 items yet again!!

Significance of 70-year cycle

Now, 70 years after victory over a common foe, could Britain at last have an opportunity to move out of ‘Babylonian captivity’ (as in The Babylonian aspect of the Church’s ‘New Era’)?  The ancient Jews were held captive there for 70 years after the fall of Jerusalem in 586BC before being allowed by Persian king Cyrus to return to their holy city.

I will be making several points on this cycle in due course, as intimated in closing Lion Bites God-incidents:.

Meanwhile, read PS: legal-eagles’ opinion post-election as well as Intercessors note 70-year election significance too.

British PM pledges support for Jewish community

In case readers may have missed my update to Thursday’s post on Israel’s elections, I’m now posting it in full below.

Digitally ‘incommunicado’ over Thursdays to Mondays I go online only to download the weekly ‘Eye View’ report from William Koenig to fill the missing gaps in our weekend  newspaper and media. Whilst printing I scanned his World Watch Daily homepage, saw the headline below and inserted it as an update link to Jewish News Service’s original:

British PM David Cameron pledges $14.7 million to protect Jewish community

British Prime Minister David Cameron has pledged 10 million pounds (about $14.7 million) to protect Jewish schools and synagogues in the wake of recent terror attacks on Jewish sites in Europe, including in Paris, Copenhagen and Brussels, over the past year.

“At a time when once again the Jewish communities of Europe feel vulnerable, and when anti-Semitism is at record levels here in Britain, I will not stand by, I will not turn a blind eye,” Cameron said at the annual Community Security Trust dinner on Wednesday, reported London’s Jewish Chronicle. The Community Security Trust is a charity working to protect British Jews from anti-Semitism.

“If the Jewish community does not feel secure then our whole national fabric is diminished. It is a measure of the vigour of our institutions and the health of our democracy that the Jewish community feels safe to live and flourish here,” Cameron said.

He added, “Over generations we have built something incredible in our country: a multi-ethnic, multi-faith democracy—and we are not going to let anyone destroy it.”

JNS’ source is the Jewish Chronicle’s Cameron gives £3m for shul security after JC campaign. Especially noteworthy in view of President Obama’s peevish reaction to last week’s news is this:

Mr Cameron also pledged his continued support for Israel, which he described as “an extraordinary nation”. He said: “I will always stand up for the right of Israel to defend its citizens… with me you will always have a British Prime Minister whose belief in Israel is unbreakable and whose commitment to Israel’s security will always be rock solid.”

He praised the country’s democracy and congratulated Benjamin Netanyahu on his election win.

His remarks were greeted with a standing ovation from the audience, which included cabinet members, the Chief Rabbi and senior diplomats.

Quick quotes and comments on Bibi’s unexpected win

Netanyahu_TelegraphReaders may appreciate some informed comments free from political claptrap, pundits’ prattlings and mad-media mindsets. Even the UK’s conservative Telegraph offers an op-ed which misses the point – but isn’t as off-beam as Obama!

Scanning some informed articles, I’ve cut and pasted a few snippets into this ‘scrapbook’ of quotes from what, in my humble opinion, are noteworthy comments from.:

Israel – a secular media voice: Debkafile (click title to read their case in full)

Why the Israeli voter re-elected Netanyahu and strengthened his party

“While they admittedly operated in a widespread climate of popular despondency and hankering for change, Likud’s rivals also missed the strong underlying trends: [4 in toto]

1. “A common convention has always been that an Israeli prime minister who falls out with an American president must go and make way for a politician able to heal the rift and restore good relations with Washington. This presumption has been superseded by four changes [in Israeli voters, who are]:

  • a lot better informed on events…around his country’s borders – hotbeds of instability, civil war bloodbaths and galloping Islamic radicalism….
  • not so much worried by the way Netanyahu stood up to President Barack Obama’s policies in the Middle East as he admired his pluck in defending national interests.
Herzog and Livni’s pledge to improve relations with the Obama administration, instead of being a vote-catcher had the opposite effect. While better relations are desired, the average Israeli is not prepared to pay for them by concessions on security.
  • most recent waves of immigrants…from Russia and France…have colored [Israel’s] perception of national and security issues. Neither group is stranger to brushes with radical Islam, on the one hand, or arguments with the United States, on the other. Both prefer pro-reactive responses to hostile challenges rather than knuckling under.
  • [Thus] the conflict with the Palestinians became sidelined…as a non-issue.”

2. “Opposition parties claimed they lost…because security issues overshadowed the economy. This too was groundless >> average voter not only re-elected Likud for another term, but shrank the smaller right-wing parties. This boosted Netanyahu’s support in parliament from a low 18 seats to thirty…he need no longer be prey to the harrassments of small partners, but will enjoy greater leeway…to get important jobs done.”

3. “Negative electioneering  rarely works. The opposition kicked off its campaign with the “anyone but Bibi” slogan and smear tactics against the prime minister, his wife Sarah and their personal lifestyle…The tactic’s very intensity boomeranged, when Bibi craftily turned it into an asset. He reached out to the voter as the underdog who had been unjustly vilified by the “haves.”

Britain – a spiritual blog voice: Cranmer (click title to read excellent post in full)

Benjamin Netanyahu promises legitimacy, peace and security

“The Archbishop of Canterbury made a pronouncement last year which was somewhat unusual in modern Anglican geo-political quibbling and hedging…it makes plain that Justin Welby,

“fully accepts that Israel has the same legitimate rights to peace and security as any other state and to self-defence within humanitarian law when faced with an external threat”.

“The people of Israel have voted to guard those rights. The reaction from the civilised world to Benjamin Netanyahu’s unexpected victory has been reserved, to put it politely. At the time of writing, it is reported that President Obama, the putative leader of the free and democratic world, has still not phoned Mr Netanyahu to offer his congratulations… (emphasis added)

“We know that Barack Obama wants a Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders. He isn’t going to get that for as long as Benjamin Netanayhu is Prime Minister, for whom such a proposal is both “unrealistic” and “indefensible”.

“While Israel remains surrounded by enemies – having ceded Gaza to Arab control from whence rain thousands of Katyusha rockets – Obama still advocates a ‘peace plan’ which poses an existential threat to the only democracy in the region. There has been no ‘Arab spring’ in Gaza. Where Spring has sprung, there is no sign of a glorious summer of liberty, democracy and religious equality…and Iran is pledged to wipe Israel “off the map”: the whole of Arabia seems intent on Israel’s destruction. In this context, the Obama ‘peace plan’ is likely to yield genocide on a scale not seen since Auschwitz.

“A Zionist is one who believes that the Jews have a legitimate right to a homeland; that Israel is that homeland; and that Jews have a right to live in that country in peace and security. Conservatives are Zionists. Or, rather, true Conservatives are Zionists. As David Cameron reminded us last year in a speech to the Conservative Friends of Israel:

There is something deep in our Party’s DNA that believes in Israel, the right of Israel to exist, the right of Israel to defend itself and that a deal should only happen if it means that Israel is really allowed to have peace within secure borders and real guarantees about its future… The West has to understand that there isn’t an equivalence between a demo-cratically elected Government of Israel, a state of Israel that is a democracy, that’s a member of the United Nations, that has a totally legitimate right to exist and defend itself – there is no equivalence between that and a group like Hamas…

“The starting point for peace in the Middle East is not the Obama plan…The path to lasting peace is contingent first and foremost upon an unequivocal commitment by the governments of all Arab states that “the Jews have a right to a homeland in Israel and a right to their country”; that Israel has “the same legitimate rights to peace and security as any other state”.

Update 1. 21st March: PM Cameron pledges £10M to protect the Jewish community. Full details and more in next post >>

Update 2. 23rd March: Joel Rosenberg refers to of claims about Netanyahu being racist on the grounds he warned that foreign organizations were mobilizing large numbers of Arab voters. In his commentary Joel enumerates several facts disproving the claim, and reports 3/4 of an Arab town actually voted in favour of Netanyahu and his Likud party!!

He later reports on Netanyahu apologizing to Arab leaders: “I know the things I said several days ago offended some of Israel’s citizens, hurt the Arab citizens. I had no intention to hurt anyone and I am sorry if did…My actions as prime minister, including the tremendous investment in minority sectors prove the opposite. I think, too, that we must never let anyone outside the state of Israel interfere with our democratic process….I see myself as the prime minister of each and every one of you, all the citizens of Israel, regardless of faith, ethnicity or gender. I see all citizens of Israel as partners in building a prosperous and secure state, a state for all its citizens”.

Update 3. 25th March: Senior Jerusalem Official states White House tried to unseat Netanyahu.

Prophetically relevant gov’t news from the UK and USA

Last week, apparently unrelated events involving Prime Minister David Cameron and President Obama could show an out-working of prophecies about accelerating events. Although being mutually exclusive, the effects of these events have global ramifications.

We’ll look at those words first and then the events, then their common denominator and the relevance of those contemporary, as well as of ancient, prophecies to the events.

So first, carefully consider what Neville Johnson brought in August for this new Hebraic year:

The issue of sowing and reaping is becoming critical. Everything is speeding up. The process of sowing and reaping is being shortened over recent times. Scary because we don’t always sow the right things, and it’s coming back quicker!” (See Urgent prophetic words about a cut-off date in God’s timeline, point 3)

Secondly, in March John Kilpatrick brought:

“In the season that we’re entering into the Lord says, “I’m going to cut things short”…listen carefully, we don’t realise how fast God’s going to speed things up and expedite things!” (See A season of ‘suddenlies’ AND a shifting)

Now the events:

1. Cameron v. BBC

Cameron - credit The CommentatorPM Cameron and Chancellor of the Exchequer Osborne took serious objection to the Blatantly Biased Corporation’s lack of objectivity and consequential political interference in reporting the budgetary Autumn Statement. The Telegraph editorial of 5th December opens with the assumption that, given its obligation as national public service broadcaster, the BBC’s obligation is to be balanced. Going into depth and referring to other instances, the editor remarks,

Anyone who retorts that they were irritated by just one report needs to view it in the wider context of BBC bias.

Read How a 3-min dawn broadcast generated a full-blown clash between the Beeb and Number 10, with fuller background at Under siege the ‘biased’ BBC fights for its life – but that’s nothing! There’s also the huge raft of issues monitored by BBC Watch, as in their latest on BBC’s Arab-Israel conflict obsession distorts history.

Regular readers are aware of many instances of pointing out the BBC’s unethical and unprofessional deep-seated prejudice that makes its reporting totally unreliable – even seeming to support terrorism (BBC tag refers)!

Hopefully, the reaction by the government’s Tories will severely shake the BBC and delay the renewal of its Charter, and even scrap the totalitarian levy of its annual licence fee.

2. Obama v. Netanyahu

In its exclusive report on Thursday DebkaFile reported Obama set on obstructing Netanyahu’s re-election. This report begins,

obama-netanyahu4‘President Barack Obama and his White House National Security team headed by Susan Rice have decided to seize on the political crisis besetting the Israeli government and the upcoming general election on March 17 for action to bar Binyamin Netanyahu’s re-election to a fourth term as prime minister…

‘This White House campaign would be accompanied by leaks from Washington for putting Netanyahu and his policies in a derogatory light…some senior sources in the US capital confided to DebkaFile that administration joy over political developments in Israel could quickly prove premature – either in view of another round of violence overtaking the Middle East, or by once again misreading Israel’s political map before stepping in and so failing in its object..’.

In my opinion interference in the internal political process of another nation, especially a democratic ally, is unconscionable. Obama’s well-known disdain for Bibi Netanyahu is poisoning Israeli politics. Clinton did the same during Netanyahu’s first term as PM – and we know the humiliating impeachment he suffered! Therefore, the US may now be in for some surprises in the next few months.

UPDATE 9/12: Washington Beacon – Congress demands Obama explain rumoured sanctions against Israel.

3. Common Denominator

The underlying common denominator in both instances is God’s plans and purposes for His covenantal people, the Jews and the land He designated for their homeland. In their unabashed hostility to them the BBC and President Obama have chosen to go against the One who is not to be mocked.

Also, let’s not overlook an early revelation about the Day of the Lord, as delivered by the prophet Obadiah:

“For the day of the LORD upon all the nations is near; As you have done (to Israel) it shall be done to you; Your reprisal shall be upon your own head”. (Obadiah 15 NKJV, emphasis added)

Perhaps pay-back time for the ‘Beeb’ and ‘Potus’ is rapidly approaching? News of other developments suggests that may not be wishful thinking…

THIS WEEK

In a more detailed analysis of several developments DebkaFile refers to a meeting of 6 Gulf Cooperation Council rulers scheduled for this week in Doha. It bears the hallmarks of extensive yet quiet cooperation between Israel and key Arab leaders and the report reveals,

‘Its agenda is topped by moves to finally unravel the 2010 Arab Spring policy championed by US President Barack Obama…The Doha summit is designed to crown a historic effort led by Saudi King Abdullah…to undo the effects of the Obama administration’s support for elements dedicated to the removal of conservative Arab rulers, such as (by the Muslim) Brotherhood. They have found a key ally in this drive in Israel’s PM Netanyahu…’

The report also makes claims for the PM’s rare achievement of close coordination with the most important Arab leaders, as follows:

  • allowing Egypt to deploy 13 battalions in demilitarized Sinai to combat terrorists,
  • diplomatic operation instrumental in obstructing US-Iran deal on nuclear weapons,
  • Jordan’s replacement of Islamist security guards on the sensitive Temple Mount,
  • Saudi and Gulf funding to Palestinian areas of Jerusalem defused recent rioting,
  • Egypt and Gulf have influenced PA’s Abbas to reduce his incitement and invective,
  • because these Arab leaders are marginalizing the Palestine issue, Hamas leader Meshaal tried re-igniting violence in Jerusalem but he went unheeded!

So the report concludes,

‘Netanyahu may or may not opt to brandish Israel’s breakthrough to the Arab world as campaign fodder to boost his run for re-election. Whatever he decides, the rulers of Saudi Arabia, the Arab emirates and Egypt have turned out to have acquired an interest in maintaining him in office as head of the Israeli government, in direct opposition to President Obama’s ambition to unseat him.’

The heart of these issues lies in Obama’s Cairo speech and later betrayal of Egypt’s president Mubarak by elevating the Muslim Brotherhood, encouraging its revolution and allowing infiltration into the USA. (Walid Shoebat, ex-Palestinian extremist with many contacts in the Middle East, reports Obama’s half-brother is influential in the MB.) Saudi Arabia took grave exception to Potus’ several actions, as noted in my correspondence on those events.

So maybe it’s time to even the score? What fascinating times we’re living in!

Let’s keep watching…

David Cameron’s Easter speech: “Christians are now the most persecuted religion around the world”

In view of my musings upon the scriptural issue at the heart of the past fortnight’s furore, Gillan’s report on this important matter makes interesting reading and discussion. The PM’s candid humility about his faith is no doubt real, but the reference to “our saviour” begs the question: why doesn’t he heed Jesus’ instructions (eg. on the origin and purpose of marriage)? The guidance he wishes for isn’t forthcoming if he won’t take ‘our Saviour’ seriously!

Updates: the ex-Culture Secretary – the British Library

Maria Miller – no longer employed

For readers overseas unaware of UK news, Mrs Maria Miller resigned yesterday as Secretary of State in David Cameron’s coalition government. On Tuesday, the date of my posting, mainstream media were in manic-mode. Not taking time to do other than glance at headlines I noted some speculated that senior Tories wanted her out because of her role in redefining marriage.

Most of the anger was from voters over Parliament allowing MP’s to feather their own nest. Also many in government were ‘getting it’, even if Dave couldn’t. Today’s Times reports the Chancellor George Osborn led the revolt against the PM’s insisting that his Secretary of State should not go.

Too many ‘talking-heads’ spouted tosh about the issue but the simple scriptural fact of mocking God remains, as I’d pointed out on Tuesday. I’d already gone into depth at the close of 2012 on the grounds for questioning his poor judgement in deciding to change marriage (here).

Later, in Something good… I expressed concern over the personal responsibility the PM and his Secretary had both assumed in going against the holy foundations of marriage. It is there, at his position, where ‘the buck stops’ for what’s happened on his watch. If you’re interested, Peter Oborn, Telegraph’s chief political commentator offers some constructive points upon the PM’s paying the price for a grievous lapse of judgement, as here.

Will that price mean following in Mrs Miller’s footsteps?

Daniel Pipes – no longer banned

Further to one of his readers finding the British Library had blocked online access to his  websites, Daniel and a number of his subscribers contacted the Library direct.

He is pleased to report that their office admitted their mistake and promptly corrected it. They advised him this situation had occurred as a result of a software blocking facility, but he’s pursuing the matter further because it allows access to terrorist jihadi sites.

Provocative ‘coincidence’ at the kick-off for redefined ‘Marriage’

Courtesy Watcharakun‘Provocative’ because a couple of associated events in tandem can make people pause for serious thought. ‘Provocative’, because how and what happened has generated a growing furore not only in Parliament but also amongst voters.  ‘Provocative’, because a key spiritual principle is involved which many ignore or refuse to consider, let alone concede it’s correct.

‘Coincidental’ – ha, is it? How can two apparently unrelated events happen yet again, that is, together at the same time by mere random chance. This re-appearance pivots around one lady intimately involved in both events and who directed the main one which closely involves her boss. And now he’s stuck in the second strand. The timing of this ‘chance’ strongly points to the distinct possibility of its being fore-ordained, even a sort of ‘God incidence’.

I humbly submit that the coincidental events around these matters indicate the Lord is keenly aware of what’s going on, and is pointing to His ‘behind the scenes’ activity – for those who may discern it.

Before we proceed, a caveat is necessary. As in previous coverage of this topic, all my comments are observational and not to be construed as being judgemental. I wish only to reiterate what the Lord stated through His Son, as revealed by Holy Spirit inspiration  of anointed apostles, prophets and teachers, and add my personal opinion. So let me first explain:

A key spiritual principle

Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. (Galatians 6:7-8 NKJV)

Over twenty years ago it was important for me, a new believer rescued from the New Age and occult, to get the past healed and its ‘klingons’ dealt with. This was beyond the skills of the Baptist church the Lord directed me to, and so He pointed out certain books by those who’d also come out of Satan’s camp, as recounted here.  Then I was directed to a ministry in the north of England specialising in the inner healing and deliverance I’d already read about.

Books by John Sandford were foundational reading and I found he’d been in the same groups as me.  Having a scientific background, I was struck by the claim that scripture has laws which are universal in function and application – as in physics – one of which is sowing and reaping. (Read an excellent outline at Elijah House Ministries.)

Therefore, I’ve referred to that principle, as in Galatians 6 above, when blogging about the redefining of marriage as, for example, in several posts of December 2012.

In asking Does David Cameron’s decision line up with the Bible? I noted a developing scandal involving Maria Miller, Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, who’s  responsible for introducing the new marriage law. Therefore, I also asked,  “…is all this going to be part of the ‘holy shaking’; that is, of everything not of God?”, bearing the promise in mind of Hebrews 12, viz:

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven, 26 whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.” 27 Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain.

28 Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. 29 For our God is a consuming fire. (BibleGateway – emphases added)

And now guess what?

Within hours of the new law coming into effect the scandal erupted over that minister’s abuse of Parliamentary allowances for personal expenses!

On Friday 28th March, whilst several same-sex couples were looking forward to being legally ‘married’ just after midnight, journalists at the Telegraph were drafting the latest in that paper’s 5 year investigative scoop on the MP’s expenses scandal.  At 10.00 pm, just ahead of the new marriage laws becoming operative, the paper’s Senior Political Correspondent, Investigations Editor and Whitehall Editor broke the news online.

Already going to print was Saturday’s broadsheet Daily Telegraph with inside pages reporting, ‘Cameron welcomes first gay marriages’, plus a few related items. One about priests being urged to defy the Anglican Church crept into the bottom of the front page, BUT the topmost headline reads:

Cabinet minister abused expenses -Maria Miller, Culture Secretary, made £1m profit after overclaiming for her mortgage

Oh what a surprise? I don’t mean about the minister’s activities, but the fact this news has coincided with the manifestation of what she and David Cameron engineered.

A busy week in politics

Last Friday’s lead editorial Mrs Miller should say sorry to taxpayers opens:

‘It is almost five years since The Telegraph broke the parliamentary expenses scandal. The revelation that some MPs had abused the expenses system – perpetrating, in some cases, outright fraud – rocked public confidence in British democracy. It led to resignations, deselections, electoral defeats and even the imprisonment of some of the worst offenders. Promises were made that things would be different in the future, that there would be house-cleaning and reform. Failure in some quarters to live up to those fine ambitions is why voters remain so disdainful of Parliament and politicians…’

Readers unfamiliar with this sorry saga wanting an overview will find the whole affair  summarised in:

This last by an ex-trade union official points to the danger in this affair: threatening the freedom of the press. The penultimate item from the Guardian refers to Miller’s other indefensible threat against the independent Parliamentary Standards Commissioner. That is, not so much questionable expense claims, but her other consequential actions are doubly  dangerous!

The whole affair stinks! It is an exceptionally outrageous situation and, as she refuses to resign and PM Cameron refuses to dismiss her, then maybe his ‘fate’ is tied to hers. Not an unreasonable conjecture in view of their mocking the Lord’s ordinance on marriage and the family.

A personal opinion

Personally, as a retired servant of Her Majesty with responsibility for inviting and letting works contracts, and the financial control of major building projects directly responsible to HM Treasury, I am appalled by the unconscionable conduct of this MP.

Is the Living Lord God indicating He isn’t to be mocked and, thereby, letting those who are responsible fall into personal difficulties of their own making?

On his first state visit to Israel, British Prime Minister David Cameron today told the Knesset he has Jewish roots, including a relative who wrote the first Yiddish novel, and vowed that Britain would always stand as a friend to Israel and the Jewish people.

He spoke out strongly against international efforts to delegitimize Israel, and warned that Iran’s government is a “despotic regime” with “nuclear intentions.” He vowed to work with all in the region to help make peace while standing firmly behind Israel’s right and need for security.

“You have a British prime minister whose belief in Israel is unbreakable and whose commitment to Israel’s security will always be rock-solid,” Cameron said.

A Biblical relevance to Cameron’s ‘judgement call’?

Truly, I much prefer covering prophetical rather than political/military matters. But some things based upon the Word of God need saying when the occasion arises. So I’ll be brief:

This time last week I read reports of mobilisation around the eastern Med and the Gulf in preparing for a US missile strike upon Syria by the weekend. In view of the ‘ready-to-go’ status, I wasn’t surprised my son’s flight in that region set for Friday was brought forward to early Thursday. PM Cameron had urgently recalled Parliament from its Summer recess and later that day sought all MP’s backing for military support of the US and associates’ attack. The PM has been concerned over the very dreadful plight of civilians in Syria and long canvassed Obama for action of one sort or another.

(The US has trained Syrian rebels in Jordan, who’ve already been in action. Assad had warned this would trigger retribution, including use of chemical weapons – see DebkaFile’s analysis with their original report of mid-August).

D CameronThursday evening’s news referred to PM Cameron stressing that military action is a “Judgement call” – see Channel4 News and Friday’s The Independent. As we know, the PM lost the House’s vote. Much has been written about this and so I’ll be succinct. It’s noteworthy that after having heard Cameron tell him UK is unable to help the US, Obama suddenly changed his mind about the strike – not even telling his military chiefs or allies! (DebkaFile refers.)

What struck me is, not so much the complete about-turn by both leaders, as a likely connection with both having forsaken the ways of the Lord and failing to stand on his Word – God is not mocked!

Let’s recall from a previous post on the US Administration’s problems how the Amplified Bible spells out chapter 6 of Paul’s letter to the Galatians:

Do not be deceived and deluded and misled; God will not allow Himself to be sneered at (scorned, disdained, or mocked by mere pretensions or professions, or by His precepts being set aside.) [He inevitably deludes himself who attempts to delude God.] For whatever a man sows, that and that only is what he will reap. For he who sows to his own flesh (lower nature, sensuality) will from the flesh reap decay and ruin and destruction, but he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. [BibleGateway

We cannot pretend to know how the Lord is working in all this, but it’s instructive to note the PM’s “judgement call” may have a deeper connotation than is ordinarily assumed!

Cameron railroaded through Parliament a completely unnecessary Statute to redefine marriage. His American mentor has led nationally and internationally in this and now faces troubles across several fronts, including the Muslim Brotherhood (see this by Joel Rosenberg).

Thus, they’re reaping as they’ve sown within their very own political system. AND it has come through attempting to deal with an evil regime in cahoots with another – but how can our leaders expect to be righteous in this issue when they’re not in others?

So, this round has been won by the ‘Ezekiel 38 Alliance’, or ‘axis’ as David Blair terms it in his commentary West’s failure to act.  Analysing America’s three main interests in the Syrian issues, Caroline Glick hits the nail on the head in Obama’s bread and circuses.   International Business Editor for the Telegraph, Ambrose Evans-Pritchard, also makes several good points in A Fairly Honourable Defeat. This comes with insights from his father’s involvement in Syria in 1942.

Yesterday’s development is the proposed transfer of Assad’s chemical weapons into deep shelters in Iran, thereby averting any US attack (report here) and possibly using  the move as a bargaining chip. [Debka reported  ahead of the invasion of Iraq that Saddam Hussein’s WMD stock was moved into Syria. Many years later I noted the ‘Vicar of Baghdad’, Canon Andrew White, corroborate this claim on TV.]  A fortnight ago Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu warned,

“Syria has become Iran’s testing ground….Iran is watching and it wants to see what would be the reaction on the use of chemical weapons.”

Today brings news of joint US-Israel tests at sea of interceptive missile systems for protection of Israel and Jordan in the event of the conflict expanding into the region.

So tensions continue to simmer near boiling point….

Is the use of chemical weapons in Syria of more importance than the eradication of Christianity?

Gillan Scott provides an excellent in-depth follow up to my brief note on Barnabas Fund’s call to prayer for the persecuted church. At least our people are not joking in poor taste on this issue as did the Obama Administration over the persecution in Egypt! Something good in UK’s ‘marriage’ Act for Christians?

Nero_1The coffee-time conversation with Steve continues. Nina and Simone catch up with us on our way to the cafe’s bar for fresh, full mugs and hear Steve exclaim,

“What! What on earth’s good for believers about the ssm Bill?”  The startled looks our wives dart at each other convey;  “What on earth have our men been talking about?”

Back in our secluded corner, Steve summarises our conversation and he’s ‘champing at the bit’ to take charge. I want to steer it another way but Simone beats us to ‘the off’.  As a solicitor she brings a fresh view.:

Legal eagles’ views

“How the Bill was rushed through and given royal assent clearly smacks of censorship in a totalitarian state. A barrister and senior lecturer at the University of London wrote a splendid professional paper quite relevant to this issue. David McIlroy explains why a democracy’s legal system can’t have a morally neutral playing field. I noted his opinion that,

A public square from which religious influences are excluded is not a neutral public square. It is a public square in which all influences bar the secularist ones have been censored.  That is not a public square in which everyone’s voice is heard and everyone’s views are respected, it is a public square in which religious voices are silenced and anti-religious views are imposed.  This is not a tolerant society, it is a tyrannous society.

“What he also says about the double-importance in a Christian society of how the Last Judgement affects the law is especially interesting…I recall bits like:

…It means today’s rulers are understood, and (should) understand themselves, to be answerable  to a higher authority in their actions. They know they will be judged for how they exercised their power and this accountability is the foundation of accountability to the people.

…citizens know the ultimate judge isn’t the government but almighty God, and this contributes hugely to human freedom.

“It’s an exciting summary of how Christianity has provided a sound basis for secular law..”

“I know, Simone, I’ve got a copy thanks to a fellow blogger – an excellent document! And I wrote about examples of creeping tyranny back in 2009!”  [See 1 & 14 below]

“Also Richard, contrary to what you said about Archbishop Welby and bishops being overwhelmed in the House of Lords, the barrister who founded Christian Legal Centre issued them a written challenge over his version of events and concluded:

I am surprised that the Church of England appears to be vacating the public square when it comes to the issue of marriage. Given the rich teaching of Scripture and strong tradition of marriage, this is something that the CofE should be able to comment on clearly, intelligently and winsomely. Marriage is something to be celebrated, promoted and, at this time, preserved. At a time when the nation needs to hear a prophetic voice on marriage, the CofE’s message is sadly mixed and, as a result, unclear.

“The account of her corresponding with him and CoE’s response laments their inability to copy the politicians’ action in ensuring full attendance for voting.” [2]

Raising my finger, “I like her bit on ‘prophetic voice’ as I was struck by the sharp contrast between the Telegraph’s report on Welby’s ‘cop-out’ and what Sharon Stone taught and did [3] – the first started my morning and the second closed it in a much Godlier way!

“Also, in one of many debates on that other blog I pointed out that wise leaders would wait and watch what happens to other countries before foisting it on the British public. It’s opening Pandora’s Box – next will come legal recognition of bigamy, bestiality and paedophilia, as in the customs that defiled ancient Canaan which God spoke against when Hebrews took it over as the land ‘vomited out its inhabitants’.”

“I’ve read John McTernan’s excellent teaching on those socially sanctioned practices,” . adds Simone. “I said to Stan to read too” nodding at her husband. [4]

Nina expresses her deep concern over Her Majesty giving assent to the Bill in view of her Coronation oath “to maintain the laws of God and profession of the Gospel”.

My long spoon lances a hole in the cappuccino’s thick froth as I respond, “Being a constitutional monarch, there was absolutely nothing she could have done about its passing into Law as the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act.

“But from my perspective as lookout on the walls – as it were – our national leader became much more motivated to introduce the Act – come hell or high water – by President Obama during his state visit. So it’s possibly a result of that influence…”

“I’ve read,” reports Simone, “Obama is a long-standing ‘gay pride evangelist’, as can be seen in his recent call to African nations to be ‘converted’. Their righteous leaders have repudiated his overtures…on fact they’re sparked a real backlash!” [5]

“That’s so,” I add. “I’ve followed it all closely through Bill Koenig, a Christian White House journalist.  Cameron’s now copying Obama as an ‘evangelist’, which His Grace Cranmer scathingly lampoons [6]. He notes Cameron’s clearly stated intention [7]:

Only other thing I wanted to say is that I know that the job isn’t yet fully done. It is something to celebrate that Britain is now – and it’s official – the best place to be gay, lesbian or transgender anywhere in Europe. That is a great achievement. That’s not my measure; that is an inter-nationally recognised measure. But there’s still a lot more work to be done.

“God is not and will not be mocked and these national leaders are treating Him with the utmost of contempt. Unless they humble themselves, repent deeply and renounce their ways there is very little hope for their future – but God may have mercy.”

“But at least they’ve not committed the unpardonable sin,” interjects Nina, to which Steve asks, “What’s that?”

She replies, “That’s saying a work of the Holy Spirit is of Satan. In my opinion, many believers have unwittingly done that when attributing God’s presence and His work to the demonic! Some think so about a Canadian whom we know. Whilst at a church in Bath, he sensed God wanted to heal and that evening I was able to walk and dance again – I went from permanent disability to normal ability in an instant! As we all love Jesus, then that could not have been of the devil.” [8]

“Now,” I ask, “Do you want the good or the not-so-good news first? Let’s keep the best for last – after some opinions encountered in fellow believers.”

Not-so-good points

“I’ll try to be brief on what’s very unsettling to my spirit. As I don’t want to have a closed mind on this issue I’d monitored Gillan Scott’s several well-balanced posts on the topic, to which some readers gave a window upon the state of their souls.

“Whatever gay folk say and do they’re no different to any believer for we’ve fallen short of the glory of God and are deeply loved by Him, otherwise Jesus wouldn’t have died for them too. So we love them too as individuals  but, as with all sin, we don’t like their sin but hate it for what it is and does in preventing their accessing the fullness of life in Christ.

“Some who claimed to be Christians, however, were not only very supportive of this anti-Biblical Bill but also muddled and confused about what scripture says – even twisting its meaning – as well as being ignorant of sin!  One pastor to the gay community even tried to explain why I’m mistaken!

“One regular pundit couldn’t understand what’s wrong with redefining marriage! We got the measure of one another when I commented: if that were correct there was no need for me to have repented of having been in the occult.”

“Just an aside and reminder,” whispered Simone, “I’d like to check the dangers of yoga as its spirit may be messing around with me.”

I continued, “My remark met a haughty, incredulous retort, ‘Upon what basis do you equate same-sex relationships with occultism, Richard? Your logic is seriously skewed, to put it mildly…!’  It was both sad and amusing because the answer was simple…so very simple.

“I parried it by alluding to the oft-quoted legal totem of ‘equality’, as well as its proper  mathematical meaning, and took precise aim: ‘Your own logic has missed the point, to put it bluntly…The basis of my equation is straightforward, namely ‘equality of sin’ (ie. ‘missing the mark’).’ We ended up agreeing to disagree.

“But there were lamentable tales of some dear folk engaged in unions they think the Lord has ok’d and then wonder why things went wrong. For example, the miscarriage of a child being carried by one of a female partnership – a terribly sad state brought about by sin to their detriment. It reminded me of sin crouching ‘by the door’ to take Cain and make him murder his brother Abel. (Genesis 4:6-7)

“The accounts and opinions come with a sense of despoiling. I recalled Nathan Morris’ strong preaching on Jesus’ admonition to the early churches infected by sexual sin of their needing to be cleansed from wearing defiled robes. No wonder many wise and anointed preachers sound the alarm bells.” [9] & [10]

THE GOOD POINTS

“From a Christian standpoint, the good things of this Act are not so much the adverse  ones but more the scriptural ones. We can, for instance, be most positive about these facts.:

  1. This Bill and Act were never in the Conservative Party’s election manifesto. Thus, in my opinion, the electorate as a whole can’t be held responsible for the revolt against God and traditional values and the consequences.
  2. In requiring and enforcing the Queen’s compromising of her Coronation oath her Prime Minister actually took upon himself the full personal responsibility before God for having broken and contravened it – I wouldn’t like to be in his shoes for deliberately being ignorant in such a gravely foolish action.
  3. David Cameron and everyone voting for the Bill is personal accountability to their Maker for going against His revealed and express will for all mankind – no matter whether they believe in God or not. I pray they’ll have personal revelation on this and take the opportunity to repent before they take up their post-mortem existence – as happened to me when I stood on the trapdoor down to hell [11  In Your wrath remember mercy, Lord.
  4. The sweeping international attempts to redefine the meaning of marriage are so intensely orchestrated that even conspiracy theorists would be left dumbfounded. Therefore, it is and can only be a dark spiritual phenomenon – not one of God but from the one who’s always wanted to usurp His place. But its time on earth is now very short so it wants to take as many humans it can and prevent their salvation.
  5. This so-called cultural change was announced well in advance, in fact 2,000 years ago by no less a person than Jesus Christ himself!”

“How do you make that out?” thrusts Steve with one of his bespectacled glares that reminds me of a hen pecking seed. I hear ‘tap-tap-tap’ and turn to see a solitary man at the next table tapping on his tablet. His face and sound mirrors my friend’s and I gently smile. But then I grin in self-deprecation over my natural tonsure as I reply:

“Off the top of my head…a couple of Jesus’ sayings spring to mind.:

“First of all, His teaching about persistent prayer (Luke 18:8) refers to a time like today; one lacking in not only personal but also corporate faith – as widely shown in ditching Christian values for purely hedonistic aims. This is what Jesus foresaw:

Nevertheless, when the Son of Man comes, will He really find faith on the earth?”

“Secondly, He instructed His disciples about the coming of the Kingdom of God and to expect exceptional consequences for socially sanctioned wickedness (Matt 24):

But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, but My Father only. 37 But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 38 For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, 39 and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

“Dr Luke’s carefully collected account of Jesus’ life from witnesses adds (Luke 17):

Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot: They ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; 29 but on the day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. 30 Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

“Also, His apostle Paul confirmed that Jesus told him the same about a future ‘Last Days’ great apostasy or falling away from faith in God. One of his letters to the early Greek church in Salonika (2 Thessalonians 2) refers to it this way:

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. [Emphasis RB]

“Paul carries on with extra details to the gospels, which you can check yourself.

“Moreover, rabbinical teaching is said to confirm the connection between Noah’s time and today’s. Five years ago two separate people on a radio show spoke about the ancient Babylonian Talmud’s interpretation of Genesis and the cause of the Flood. ‘America’s Rabbi’, Aryeh Spero, said the Talmud’s writings show, “before the Flood people started to write marriage contracts between men…which is more than homo-sexual activity…in other words, giving an official state stamp of approval, a sanctifica-tion of homosexual partnership.”

“Rabbi Spero went on to say, “Even in ancient Greece they did not write  marriage contracts between men.  There was homosexuality, and it was wrong, but  there was not an official ‘blessed’ policy. … Marriage is ‘sanctification’ (not  simply a partnership).”  He said to confer the title of sanctification and holiness upon this behaviour is “probably one of the greatest sins of all that  one does against God’s plan for this world.”

“Another source quotes from the Midrash Rabbah Genesis, a specific commentary upon the Torah, and from the Second Book of Enoch, both of which support the claim about the real events of the ‘days of Noah’, from which we may infer they’re the festivities of which Jesus knew and was referring to. I’ve not yet completely cross-checked those sources, but I can let you have them for checking. [12&13]

“Also the widespread persecution of Christians in Africa and Middle East connects into the Daniel 7 end-times prophecy!” [14]  On top of that, the status of Jerusalem is being discussed in Washington. With three major aspects of prophecy now at the fore we’re definitely entering the End-Times, as stated at the outset of my writing four years ago – The End-Time Is Now In Play – maybe you’d like to check it out?” [15]

Nina adds, “What’s going on proves the Bible is absolutely true and correct!”

“We’re definitely entering into times foreseen by the Lord Jesus and His first apostles as well as Old Testament prophets. What’s happening across the world has been written about and we know the outcome – the return of King Jesus for His Bride.  It can’t be much longer now…As Jesus said when teaching about signs of the end of the Age.:”

“Now when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption draws near.” (Luke 21:28)

Is Britain taking a totalitarian route?

Nero_7“Your blog about new decrees for the UK was a tad off-beam,” remarks Steve as we take our coffees into a quiet corner – our wives chat about the new baby prince with some friends seen sitting by the bay window. Revealing what’s bugging him, our friend of long-standing continues…

“The Coalition For Marriage [C4M] had already circulated its grave concern at how the voting had been hijacked! They emailed me about leaders of all three main political parties using their muscle to force through the same-sex marriage Bill without any proper debate whatsoever – totalitarianism, is what it is…copied from Hitler and Stalin!”

Sitting down stems Steve’s flow as he adds reflectively, “Seems the lady preacher you quoted may have been mistaken. Maybe we are at a crossroads, but what she said was supposed to happen didn’t – quite the opposite!!” [Ref 1 below]

I’m taken aback, not knowing Steve to be a secret reader of my blog! When we four lunch together, all talk about ‘glory stories’, ministry or scripture goes straight over his head. Being a keen golfer and do-it-yourself guy, his skills prove useful in the local parish church. Maybe having a newly licensed vicar who’s passionate on prophetic preaching has inspired Steven to dip into my musings?

“I received the same mailing”, I replied. “In debate on other blogs I’ve pointed out there’s no real electoral mandate whatsoever for this Bill to have been introduced. It’s a mockery of parliamentary democracy. I agree – it is a totalitarian procedure. They ignored over half a million protest signatures in preference for a sham so-called consultation.  Not even the gay lobbyists were wanting this Bill.”

Steve nods, “That Bill’s not had unanimous support. According to C4M, it has not been plain sailing for the Government with over 300 MPs and Peers voting against it. C4M effectively highlighted many problems with this legislation. Many Peers tabled amendments to protect civil liberties but none of the Bill’s backers – leaders in all parties – saw to it that they were voted into the Bill.

“Moderate and reasonable changes were wanted, according to C4M, yet both Government and Opposition objected – even hysterically! – and made sure none were added to the Bill.  A shameful travesty – tyranny, if the truth be known!”

Taking the email out of a pocket he points out its second page’s points on legal protections required for

> Teachers > Workers > Chaplains > Councils > Free Speech > Siblings.

I read the details and what C4M’s Colin Hart writes:

We wanted Clauses on the face of the Bill to protect civil liberties. Instead Government ministers only agreed to a couple of amendments and gave verbal assurances that people should not be victimised, saying that people would be protected by equality laws.

Evidence from the very recent past proves the brazen falsity of that empty promise. No wonder my friend is so annoyed.

Re. Prophetic Decrees

I ask Steve, “When you read my piece did you think what Sharon Stone and her team did would change the course of events?”

“Your blog implies she said what God had given her would affect Parliament’s votes on redefining marriage…”

“Hold on Steve, not quite so. The news I read in that morning’s paper on the overwhelming opposition the Archbishops and Lords Spiritual encountered was a clear sign of difficulties [2]. Archbishop Welby is reported as saying,

Anyone who listened to much of the Same Sex Marriage Bill Second Reading Debate in the House of Lords could not fail to be struck by the overwhelming change of cultural hinterland. Predictable attitudes were no longer there. The opposition to the Bill – which included me and many other bishops – was utterly overwhelmed, with amongst the largest attendance and participation and majority since 1945. There was noticeable hostility to the view of the churches.

“To my mind his words contrasted strongly with Sharon’s solid teaching from a completely different stance – one to be taken by the Anglicans, if they knew how!”

“What do you mean Richard?”

“Rather than being browbeaten by sinners within the worldly, unclean House of Lords it is much better to speak from where they are in spirit – seated with Christ in heavenly realms above. That is, to take real spiritual authority from over and above the darkness.  Now that you’re into my blog I’d suggest checking out Sharon’s ideas on ‘perspective’ in her words for 2013 [3].

“Parliament’s approval was already a foregone conclusion when I wrote about her mentoring day’s profound declarations. Even so, I went ahead and published and thought readers may question it. So, I doubt you’re alone Stan.

“Yes, an immediate turnaround would have been fantastic – and proof of answered prayers. My understanding is; what we declared vocally and from our spirits was released into higher realms. The same way Jesus spoke ‘woe’, that is, cursed a barren fig tree, we were breaking and overwriting thoughts and attitudes seeded and concreted into people’s minds by pronouncements from the unrighteous who are in power and authority over them.  Therefore, it will take time to change but it will – and so the near future will be most interesting, even if things get even more difficult as the darkness increases.

“I’ve only to think of a couple of profound changes the Lord showed me many years ago and are now taking place here and in the Middle East.

“The good thing about this SSM Bill from a Christian viewpoint is…”

Our wives head toward us and so we head to the bar for a top up.
