Review – Magna Carta: Law, Liberty, Legacy

D.C. Nesbitt’s excellent review of the Magna Carta exhibition takes my brief coverage full circle: from last-minute insertion on the charter to introduce observations and prophetical points on the general election results to this re-blog’s opening reference to David Cameron’s opinion in 2012. Also, I endorse the reader’s recommendation to watch David Starkey’s programme on iPlayer.

The Exhibitionologist's avatarthe Exhibitionologist

Whether or not David Cameron knew what he was letting himself in for when he appeared as a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2012 is anyone’s guess. As anyone who watched the interview or subsequently read about it will know, there was at least one topic of conversation that he was not expecting to come up. Letterman was keen to see if he embarrass his guest by quizzing him on the history the country he was Prime Minister of, and much to the delight of the audience, he succeeded. When asked what the Latin name of the most famous document in British history – the ‘Magna Carta’ – meant in English, Mr Cameron could not muster an answer. Probably better than his lousy guess at who composed ‘Rule Britannia’ (“Edward Elgar”), but enough for many people in Britain to let out a great sigh, or to mumble something mocking about his Eton…

Magna Carta Unravelled – a new book

Regarding the previous posts on the 8th centenary of Magna Carta, anyone interested in its relevance in the suppression of freedom today may like to know about a recent book, Magna Carta Unravelled.

Only this past fortnight we have an example of the importance of this matter. A former lawyer, now Principal of Oak Hill Theological College in London, has stated the PM’s proposals for new “Extremism Disruption Orders” could be a “disaster area” for people from all mainstream religions, and none. In some settings, traditional Christian teaching could effectively be made a criminal offence!

No doubt Rev Dr Mike Ovey’s previous parliamentary experience drafting anti-terrorism legislation relating to the IRA has given him solid grounds for his deep reservations on this issue. (See Telegraph religious affairs editor John Bingham’s latest – published on Magna Carta’s anniversary – and earlier posts.)

Magna Carta Unravelled

The ethos of Wilberforce Publications, is to put the spotlight on aspects of contemporary politics, society and culture in the light of Christian thinking and examine their impact on individuals and communities. Published jointly with Voice for Justice UK on the charter’s anniversary, this new book is available in paperback/e-book and is described as follows:

magna-carta-3dMagna Carta is not only one of the most celebrated documents in British history, but stands as a foundation of political and religious freedom throughout the world. Yet the liberties and freedoms fought for and heralded in Magna Carta are under severe attack as controversial issues of religious freedoms, human rights, equality legislation and freedom of speech present significant challenges for our society today.

In the year of its 800th anniversary ‘Magna Carta Unravelled’ traces the Christian origins and legacy of this great Charter of liberty, focusing on the current challenges to individual liberty examined by experts with unrivalled backgrounds in politics, academic philosophy, the law and the church.

‘Magna Carta Unravelled’ is an invaluable resource, offering penetrating insights from a variety of perspectives for those seeking a thoughtful approach to issues of freedom in our nation today.

In the opinion of HH Judge David Turner QC.,

“Magna Carta continues to compel Christian people to fearlessly explore what makes for human flourishing in a liberal democracy. Any wake-up call – such as this book – is rarely comfortable, occasionally inconvenient, always unsettling; but the issues discussed, of conscience, belief and freedom, refuse to be silenced.”

Magna Carta’s 8th centenary: a better perspective

Rather than negating a conclusion built upon the meaning of number 8 in the last post, correcting a maths mistake gives some credence to my conjecture.

In On 800th anniversary of Magna Carta I made a mistake over the passage of time that had elapsed and thank RJ Dawson for correcting me. (He’s author of Real Christianity, the Nature of the Church.)

In fact, this adjustment points us towards a better perspective on man-made laws and the related application of biblical numbers.

[Note: I’m not considering or advocating any unscriptural notions on numbers. Having been deeply involved in New Age I’m well aware of the differences between the Bible’s use of numbers and the claims of numerology.]

That post stated last Monday starts the 8th century since Magna Carta’s declaration in 1215 AD, whereas we’re now in its 9th century. After referring to the Bible’s meaning of number 8 I considered how that may give significance to some recent events.

That count was an elementary error against which I’d quickly checked, yet nevertheless I made the sort of mistake I’ve known about since school. When blogging about cycles it’s often been at the back of my mind. So I’ve given myself a dressing down!  Criticism that it’s simply ‘confirmation bias’ (ie. wanting to see a related result) is understandable. It’s plausible that desiring things to tie neatly together would lead to noticing this 800th anniversary falls at a time of perceived changes in the church and society.

However, it’s more likely the issue arose because this week’s been busily interspersed with three half days’ of travelling, replying to correspondence and some meetings – not conducive to continuity or clarity in lengthy posts. Even so, we learn something even more pertinent through that maths mistake.

Let me explain: the first year of life isn’t completed until 12 months have passed. On the anniversary of baby’s birth (or something’s start) the person/thing is one year old – 1st birthday. So every number has two main uses, as an ‘integer’ or whole number counted in its own right, or else as an ‘ordinal’ having a position in a series (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.).

Thus, as regards the Magna Carta being 800 years old last Monday, its 800th year was from 16th June 2014 to 15th June 2015. Its first century was from 1215 to 1315 and so its 8×100 years or 8th century was 1915 to 2015. So we’re now in its 9th century. It’s the same reason for referring to 2015 as being in 21st and not 20th Century.

In correcting that post two points pop-up to bring a new perspective:

  • number 8’s meaning relating to centuries is more clearly demonstrated, and
  • the meaning of the newly started 9th 100-year cycle is even more significant!

The previous post has now been tidied and the two original short sections deleted. They are amended to read as follows:

The meaning of 9

Monday 15th June 2015 started the 9th century since the issue in 1215 of Magna Carta. Number ‘9’ appears 7×7 times in the Bible and, being symbolic of divine completeness,  it conveys the meaning of finality and judgement.

During Jesus’ crucifixion ‘darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour’ (Luke 21:44). The Bible Study Site states He died at the 9th hour to make the way of salvation open to everybody. Also, Yom Kippur (Jewish Day of Atonement, in Sept-Oct) is the only one of God’s annual feast days of worship that requires believers to fast for one day. Considered by many Jews to be the holiest of the year, this special day begins at sunset on the 9th day of the seventh Hebrew month Tishri (Lev 23:32).

On the Hebrew Calendar, the total destruction of Jerusalem’s temple began on 9th Ab (July-August). Also on this day, the second temple (ie. Herod’s temple) was burned to the ground by the Romans in 70 AD. It continues to be regarded as a day of tragedy.

Also, according to Galatians 5:22 there are nine fruits of the Holy Spirit, which manifest as positive character traits.

9th cycle of centuries

Thus, the 9th cycle of 100 years is likely to be significant for finality and judgement. As for Britain, the following changes noted in this blog may be preparatory for drawing this Age to a close with the return of Jesus Christ:

    • improving spiritual atmosphere noted by visiting Christian leaders,
    • many prophetic words of promise delivered/declared over these lands,
    • increasing activity of the Holy Spirit within the British Isles.

If, as we believe, the Lord was acting behind the scenes at the general election, we can expect this to continue in the political realm and, hopefully, to bless this nation and its leaders with a real return to righteousness. This doesn’t negate the need to pray such change through to manifestation (Rev Dr Stone’s remarks at #4 of my post refer).

We’d expect this meaning of ‘9’ as ‘finality’ would incorporate the shaking and implicit, consequential exposure prophesied in Hebrews 12:26. As regards man-made laws it’s very pertinent to note that Britain’s judiciary and government offices have been accused of not having clean hands – ie. corruption!

Based upon findings reported by World Justice Project and Transparency International,  The Commentator announced last Saturday in Shame and disgrace: UK 2nd tier nation on law, corruption:

We don’t even make the top 10, despite what we were all brought up to believe, in either the corruption or rule of law indices put out recently by the leading analytical organisations in the world. In some respects, the current reality is truly appalling.

By the close of that 8th century British law introduced a change to marriage contrary to the purpose defined by God.  As the start of the 9th century since Magna Carta may be likened unto ‘as in the Days of Noah and Lot’, as foretold by Jesus, let’s look out for the consequential outcome of this legislative defiance.

According to the above biblical meaning of 9 we have additional grounds upon which to expect the Lord to bring about finality and judgement.

Further observations

The meaning of 8

Biblically ‘8’ signifies a new beginning, as in Genesis with the second week of creation continuing after the Almighty rested for a day, and in the new creation after the Flood with the survival of only 8 persons. There are not a few other significant references to that number – especially Jesus’ name in Greek – as in The Bible Study Site.

8th cycle of centuries: 1915 -2015

History shows how that symbolism of a refreshing, new beginning applies in respect of man-made law to the 8th cycle of 100 years since Magna Carta.

That ‘century’ began on 16th June 1915 at a time when women were not permitted to vote or to stand in elections for parliament in Britain even though our colonies of New Zealand and then Australia already had women’s suffrage since the turn of 19th/20th Century!  Here, the Women’s Social and Political Union, or ‘Suffragettes’ as they were known, was founded in October 1903 by Mrs Emmeline Pankhurst and took a radical, militant approach to their gaining the right to vote because previous debate had failed.

The Great War, however, changed British perceptions of women when the government issued an urgent appeal for women to serve their country by signing up for vital work in agriculture, nursing, industry, especially in munitions factories, by setting up a Register of Women for War Service in March 1915.

This freed up more men for military service and was welcomed by the Suffragettes. Two years later the PM Lloyd George stated a bill to enfranchise women over the ago of 30 years would be introduced and in that June the House of Commons voted by a huge majority to give wives of that age the vote.

We should note that negotiations were also well under way for issuing the Balfour Declaration on 9th November 1917. This gave British support to the establishment of a permanent Jewish national homeland in Palestine after the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

Other Magna Carta centennials

The following centennials from my Pocket Book of Dates & Events by David Herman are noteworthy as regards the English crown and law:

  • 1415 – Henry V revives English claim to French throne, invades France and defeats French at Agincourt.
  • (1517 Martin Luther issues his 95 Theses challenging Roman Church).
  • 1715 – Jacobite rising in Scotland in support of son of James II.
  • 1815 – Battle of Waterloo: French army under ex-Emperor Napoleon defeated by allied British, Prussian and Dutch armies. Also this year, Prussian and Austrian monarchies restored, German Confederation established and Kingdom of Netherlands unites Belgium and Holland.

Today marks 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo!

On 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta – or should it be 1,400th?

Today marks the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta to which King John affixed his seal under the demands of his barons in order to limit his regal powers. There’s more I want to tell about this than was briefly covered in the preamble to prophetical points of last month’s general election.

Also, whilst writing I’m intrigued to have received a reader’s unwitting contribution that’s made me suspect some pieces of the Lord’s invisible jigsaw are falling into place!

[The section originally appearing here has been revised in the next post.]

To recap, I noted this medieval document, “Established for the first time the principle that everybody, including the king, was subject to the common law of the land. The British Library states that, although nearly a third of the text was deleted or substantially rewritten within ten years, and almost all its clauses have been repealed in modern times, Magna Carta still remains a cornerstone of the British constitution. I’d add that its great influence extends to the Commonwealth’s and to the United States of America’s legal systems.”

In view of this lengthy document’s importance in world history may I encourage you to consider a few more points gleaned from my weekend reading?  (To read the articles in full and for more information then click the links shown.)

Member of the European Parliament for SE England Daniel Hannan refers to 18th Century PM William Pitt the Elder calling Magna Carta, “the Bible of the English Constitution”. He himself likens it to, “the Torah of the English-speaking peoples: the text that sets us apart while, at the same time speaking truths to the rest of humanity”.

Hannan also recognises the charter’s provisions had been prefigured to a small extent in earlier centuries, yet the document of 1215 AD was different in including an enforcement mechanism. “Instead of leaving it to the king to decide whether he had kept his word, it instituted a form of conciliar government which was to evolve directly into the Parliament that meets at Westminister today”. Of course, parliamentarians’ troubles with Charles I and subsequent civil war used Magna Carta’s provisions as an essential sledgehammer to crack and sever a brick-hard nut!

However, one of our Justices of the Supreme Court as well as distinguished medieval historian, Lord Sumpton, dismisses Magna Carta as being “far less significant in the development of modern rights than the French Revolution”! He argues,

“The modern perception of the Charter as the source of all our liberties was largely the invention of Sir Edward Coke, the seventeenth century lawyer, antiquarian and politician.

“Coke, who was widely regarded as the most learned lawyer of his day, rescued Magna Carta from obscurity and transformed it from a somewhat technical catalogue of feudal regulations, into the foundation document of the English constitution. It is really Coke’s idea of Magna Carta that has been exported to the world, and not the version that King John or his barons would have recognised.

“The libertarian tradition in England is one of this country’s great contributions to the development of the modern world. But its power does not depend on its antiquity.

“Our libertarian tradition actually dates from the constitutional settlement which followed the civil wars of the seventeenth century and the deposition of King James II in 1688. Magna Carta frankly has nothing to do with it.”

Click for the Key Points on differences between both Magna Carta and ‘Declaration des Droits de l’Homme et du Citoyen’, to compare the main difference between the British and the French, or Napoleonic, principles.

Nevertheless, those who praise the Great Charter as the published precursor of the rule of law, rather than the diktat of ruling executives, are right to do so.

1,400th anniversary (approx)

The earliest Anglo-Saxon law code is that of King Aethelbert of Kent after conversion to Christianity and issued between 597 and 616AD. The 12th Century manuscript known as Textus Roffensis is the only surviving copy of those codes:

Credit: Cambridge Historical Encylcopedia of Great Britain and Ireland – ed. Christopher Haigh (publ 1985)

Subsequent 7th century Kentish codes and laws of Ine of Wales mainly concerned payments for injury, infringement of property rights and breaches of public order. The 9th century King Alfred’s code synthesized elements from Kentish, Mercian and West Saxon codes. The influence of Anglo-Saxon law is apparent in legal measures of kings William I (‘The Conqueror’) and Henry I.

Intriguing God-incidence

Lastly, whilst drafting this I’ve been reading comments submitted by a fellow blogger in the States of whom I’ve known for a few years and today got re-connected. So what’s that got to do with this post? Quite a lot. In fact, I think you’ll be most surprised.

Tim Shey at HitchhikeAmerica adds this perspicuous comment to my Does a spiritual yet political trend link USA to Britain? without realising it’s directly related to this current post. In fact, he puts the whole subject into a Godly perspective:

‘George Bernard Shaw once said that the United States and Great Britain were divided by a common language. It is no accident that the United States is English-speaking and Great Britain is English-speaking. It is because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The United States-Great Britain-English-speaking-Military-Industrial-Spiritual Complex is the great counterpoise to Satan’s Spiritual Babylon (confusion; confused languages because of the sin of the Tower of Babel).

‘Certain principalities and powers of darkness were taken out in England back in the 1600s (the rise of the King James Bible, the English Civil War, the Glorious Revolution) and similar principalities and powers of darkness were taken out in the 1700s in the American Colonies (the great revival before the Revolution, the Revolution itself, the Constitution of the United States). The slave trade was ended in England, I believe, in the 1790s and later the slave trade was ended in the United States; and of course, later the Lord judged the United States for slavery in the great Civil War of 1861-1865.

‘No doubt, the Lord set up this Anglo-American/Judaeo-Christian alliance to spread the Gospel and also to destroy tyranny in different parts of the world through military power: Naziism, Communism, Islamo-Fascism. The British Empire was no accident, the rise of American power and influence was no accident, but both nations must realize that the Lord God in Heaven can easily take down a nation or an empire, if they don’t put the Lord first in their lives. Look at what happened to Nebuchadnezzar: at one moment he was the greatest king on the planet, the same day the Lord humbled him and Nebuchadnezzar went crazy.’

Now is that spooky or just serendipity?  Is it really coincidental?? Or, is the Lord in it???

I’m of the opinion it’s a superb example of ‘God-incidence’ as a ‘Bridge over the Pond‘! Wouldn’t you agree?

Is a similar but far greater ‘taking out’ about to happen in our day, as some prophetical voices are saying?

Keep watching, and gain a better perspective here!.

Heidi Baker, Cindy Jacobs: prophetic messages verified and applied

Buzzing with irritation up in the corner of our conservatory warmed by the morning sun, a bumble bee distracts me from starting to tap out my thoughts. Catching it with a fishing net and rod, as used by children for crabbing, I take the bee to the open doors and release it.

Perhaps there’s a timely message in this minor distraction for my thoughts had been on ‘timing’ – and dare I bore readers by referring to that once again?  But it is significant, as I’ll explain below.

That bee’s busily been buzzing away aiming for the light, only to be confined by the glazed ceiling – yet now’s the time for release and he’s up and away! So too with this post. A vow had lain dormant – but never forgotten – at the back of my mind since I started blogging in late 2011. I’d intended writing about a new mission venture within the UK that was being launched as I was going public – Culture Changers.

Then after 3 years, it started buzzing after I’d posted the prophetic word of last October Heidi Baker brought for the UK. And it got louder with the word Cindy Jacobs delivered upon changing flights in Britain. That new mission is directly related to the application of both words and it’s time to release that ‘buzzing’ around me into the cyber-sphere.

Personal Connection

Culture Changers was launched by Hugh and Ginny Cryer after their leadership of the Winchester Vineyard church came to a close. Based in a large converted warehouse at the city’s perimeter and conveniently close to the M3, it was a most welcoming place for outsiders such as ourselves, but a tad too far to travel to attend regularly. We have fond memories of several conferences and Summer Saturday evenings devoted to worship once a month, when Hugh would deliver a ‘nugget’ or jewel of succinct teaching upon a Biblical topic.

Also, I was blessed with attending excellent courses on the End-times hosted by Keith Mackereth.

Being unable to attend a Revival Alliance gathering in London in Autumn of 2011, we were privileged to be at Hugh and Ginny’s briefing with their WinVin team.  I was humbled and over-awed to learn that what I’d dreamt about the Kingdom related to a prophetic word brought by Bill Johnson. (Details under ‘2011 Sep’ in this blog’s Library.)

Culture Changers incorporates the values of Kingdom culture espoused by the Revival Alliance (UK website and Facebook page). I’m especially impressed with their practice of honouring all brothers and sisters in the Lord and avoidance of criticism and being judgemental. (Had that been practised by ministers when I was young I wouldn’t have rejected Churchianity.)

Let Hugh and Ginny tell you about themselves before we learn the deep relevance of the prophetic words Heidi and Cindy brought for the UK.

Reconnecting Different Parts of God’s Family

In introducing themselves they also tell of the enfolding vision the Lord is giving them and how:

  • the Lord called them out of the established church to pioneer His Culture Changing Families.
  • He told them that the time for a “policing style of leadership” was over.
  • He supernaturally gave them a physical key of encouragement at a time of great adversity.
  • the Lord spoke about Culture Changers as being part of something bigger.
  • our heavenly Father approves of ‘organic’ as well as established churches – longing for all followers of Jesus, Messianic Jews and Gentiles of all churchmanships, to be reconnected in His Family with Jesus as our Head.

In view of my experiences it’s most heartening to hear Ginny’s closing words,

“Hugh and I suddenly began to realise it isn’t so much our connecting, or being part of connecting,  Anglicans and Catholics, Revival Alliance and streams, and all that sort of thing, but it’s the established and ‘organic’ church together that He is wanting to bring together, as His family is reconnected – as the Body of Christ is reconnected – in preparation for the Return of the King.”

The Heidi Baker Prophecy

On 21st December 2014 I was astonished with suddenly being reconnected ‘out of the blue’ by receiving Ginny’s most encouraging email (emphases added):

“Thank you for the word I was sent from your Watch from Heidi – via ‘HS’ – it was very exciting to read as I had just heard the Lord say to me “you keep going and I will keep coming” – so we were amazed to read the first para of her word. Also, to read about the unity that she prophesies about as this is all part of our vision for Culture Changers.
“…So very encouraging – thank you.
Ginny Cryer

Read the full word Heidi delivered on a new move of God in the UK, the relevant part (edited) being:

“I just feel like this revival that God has promised in this nation – it’s another wave of revival He’s promised; I feel like it’s going to come as we go. It’s going to come as we go. It’s going to come as we go, says the Lord. This revival of radical love is going to come as we go…. and as we go, one by one by one by one there’s going to be a lighting up in the hearts of men and women in this city, in this nation.

“There’s going to be a movement of unity in the UK that’s going to shake the world, says the Lord. I hear the prophetic word of the Lord. It’s going to flow through the universities and the colleges of the universities. It’s going to flow through denomination and the non-denominations. There’s going to be a move of unity within the Body of Christ.”

The Cindy Jacobs Prophecy

The word Cindy brought is published in ‘Ezine’, Culture Changers’ web magazine, and prefaced by,

On 13th May Michael Marcel sent us a word from Cindy Jacobs when she came through Heathrow for a few hours and gave this word. It is particularly interesting to us as it confirms the word we had when we were in Israel in February when the Lord said to us that it is time for our voices to be heard. Cindy prophesies (click to read in full)

Here’s the edited part of the second word Cindy brought that would apply:

This is the season where I am giving you a loud voice, Body of Christ, and if you will speak now I will amplify that voice and it is going to begin to tip the nation…Go and see your MPs, make appointments. This is the season where you are to speak and be that loud voice, and if you will do that”, says the Lord, “I am going to give this window of awakening; that the power of God is going to rush into the UK, not just England; the power of God is visiting the whole of the UK.”

Some have already started to act upon this directive by writing to their MP and/or the Home Secretary. We’re now exhorted and encouraged to do so as well as to support, for example, the work of Prayer for Parliament.

Conclusion

Hence, now is the time to fulfil my personal vow by enabling all my readers and visitors to hear Hugh and Ginny and learn about their God-ordained ministry, Culture Changers.

I’d strongly encourage you to visit their website and learn about introducing the values of the Kingdom to all churches and society, as outlined in New Era and based upon the revelation of Father’s Heart.

Another result of the Lord’s post-election action

Further to my recent brief bullet points, a Christian who was sacked for her views expressed in answering a question from a colleague (!!!!) has won a discrimination claim against her former employer. Christian Concern reports that:

‘Sarah Mbuyi (31) was fired from her job at a nursery in W London after having a conversation with a homosexual colleague in which she explained the biblical position on homosexuality and marriage. [Her colleague had initiated the conversation but became upset at what was said for the sake of her own best interests.]

‘In a brave judgment, the Watford Employment Tribunal chaired by Judge Broughton, found unanimously that Miss Mbuyi had been directly discriminated against because of her belief that homosexual practice is contrary to the Bible. The Tribunal recognised that while the employer was “not anti-Christian” Miss Mbuyi had not been treated fairly and that the decision to sack her may have been made on “stereotypical assumptions about her and her beliefs”.

‘Miss Mbuyi’s belief was described by the Tribunal as one which is “worthy of respect in a democratic society, is not incompatible with human dignity and is not in conflict with the fundamental rights of others” and that the employer’s policy that there was a “prohibition on employees expressing adverse views on homosexuality and/or describing homosexuality as a sin” would have a “disparate impact on Christians holding similar views to Miss Mbuyi on the biblical teachings on practising homosexuality. That is not merely because a significantly higher proportion of Christians would hold such views but also because many evangelical Christians feel their faith compels them to share it”.’

Morning coffee chat and talk-talk

Keen for coffee after a quick walk to our town-centre I’m making an instant one and the phone rings. Usually it’s for Nina but as she’s out I expect to be only a moment taking a message.

But no! It’s from ‘Sam’ out in Durban, South Africa asking for me to talk about an email I’d sent to my phone/internet provider. Our chat ends leaving me amazed with its timing and I conclude the Lord was helping to bring a good resolution to an issue.

In view of TalkTalk’s low reputation for customer service, my readers in the UK may like to know how the company resolved my communication problem with them. If so, click to Continue reading

“He will baptise with the Holy Spirit – and fire!”

fire-of-Holy-Spirit-300x194Dr Luke records in his well-researched account of the Gospel of Jesus Christ that the Jewish people were in great expectation of an anointed leader sent to them by God.  Chapter 3 of modern copies of that scroll reports the Jews thought the one who was baptising them in the river Jordan may be their eagerly anticipated messiah. But John answered them by saying,

“I indeed baptise you with water; but one mightier than I is coming whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptise you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.” (Luke 3:16 NKJV)

Or, as Eugene Peterson’s The Message paraphrases John:

The main character in this drama, to whom I’m a mere stagehand, will ignite the kingdom life, a fire, the Holy Spirit within you, changing you from the inside out.

With that in mind I invite you to listen to this petitionary prayer we frequently play, Set a Fire. Having known of this cry for some years we were pleased to find this video of the live recording of our CD:

I’d also recommend a more upbeat version introduced by Rob Cox 13 minutes into a recent morning service at Church of His Presence, as on this video. (You may like to hang in with them as they start to take off in the Spirit with Great Are You Lord…!!)

It was problematic getting connected to CHP’s live session and when the server kicked in one worship song was ending and then Rob led into this one about the ‘fire’ of God. Its occurrence soon after my mid-week blog Wake up and be set on fire was particularly pertinent in view of comments about holy fire in that post and in London’s Burning.

Be thoroughly blessed as you join in…

Morning coffee, forecast financial crash and Jonathan Cahn

Big enough to break into our long weekend, what’s buried in the middle of a broadsheet daily paper is important enough to get me online first thing to tap out a few notes. (In so logging onto WordPress I find a fellow blogger in Arizona has just posted a dream along related lines!!)

On Friday morning it would have been hard for me to miss this headline at the foot of my newspaper’s ‘leader’ page:

“Everything is in place for another big crash”

Nero_6Friday coffee, croissant and crossword starts our weekends. Bringing the yummy-laden tray I find Nina’s torn the crossword off the paper’s back page so that I can read the rest. Being the first of the two days when I buy ‘yesterday’s news’, we read the front-page cartoon and I head straight for the inside – not for editorial, but informative op-ed comments and spot that headline. As Nina writes letters into tiny boxes of the puzzle, I find I’m scribbling notes around this article!

Business, financial commentator and assistant editor Jeremy Warner’s opening shot is,

“Here’s a scary statistic for those meant to know about such things…”

But what rocks my boat in his first two paragraphs is not his mundane explanation – so startling as it is! It’s his reference to this scary statistical financial indicator as being at “one of the highest in nearly 40 years”.  Also, that “business cycles last little more than seven years…”.

Subscribers to this blog who’ve ventured on my recent sorties into the nature of cycles will recognise the import of those remarks.

In fact, well-informed Christians would also recall the financial and biblical facts taught in depth by messianic rabbi Jonathan Cahn in his intriguing books The Harbinger and The Mystery of the Shemitah. (We are said to be in a ‘Shemitah Year’ that’s coming to its climax in September.)

However, those books are hardly known on this side of ‘the Pond’ to anyone other than a small fraction of Christians. Therefore, I surmise Cahn’s thesis isn’t well known to the City of London’s financial and business world.

So, it’s particularly poignant that Jeremy’s above-quoted opening continues,

“…After a six-year bull market, the typical stock in America’s S&P 500 shares index is valued on a multiple of more than 18 times estimated forward earnings. This is not just expensive by historic standards, but super-expensive. In fact, according to analysis by Goldman Sachs, it ranks as in the top 98th percentile of historic valuations since 1976, or in other words one of the highest in nearly 40 years. It scarcely needs saying that these peaks tend to signal the top of the cycle, with some kind of bear market or crash just around the corner.” (Emphases added.)

Read his brief article online at How central banks have sown the seeds for the next financial crisis. ‘Strap line’ is, ‘The notion that central governments have somehow got on top of the forces of financial stability is for the birds’, which is the last, and summation of, several notable points I’d underlined for use.

J Warner

Jeremy briefly sketches the state of play for US and UK economies and the prospect of Greek default on its debts to the Eurozone. He then considers why economic prospects are precarious when stocks, bonds and other asset prices as are so high. In his opinion, the reason is the aggregation of:

  1. Policies of ‘quantitative easing’ whereby central banks print money, which creates new sources of financial instability within the banking system.
  2. Consequently, portfolios of conventional asset managers have become so swollen that they match those of the largest banks, thereby shifting credit supply from the banking to the non-banking sector. This has thus become the main threat to stability.
  3. Buying power of central bank’s money printing is insensitive to price fluctuations and thereby renders normal market judgments meaningless. Therefore,

“all the conditions are in place for a major train crash”.

Also Friday, Greece’s failure to pay the due installment of loan repayment to the IMF was in the news – but this time its chief, Christine Lagarde, was completely taken off-guard. As analyst Ambrose Evans-Pritchard writes on the same day,

“The International Monetary Fund is in very serious trouble. Events have reached a point in Greece where the Fund’s own credibility and long-term survival are at stake.”

In the midst of all these complexities it’s interesting to read reference to the 7 year cycle as well as a hint regarding that of 40 years, both of which feature in the Bible. The first came to prominence as of vital economic importance in ancient Egypt when Joseph told pharaoh his dream of 7 fat cows and 7 thin cows was prophetic. Joseph interpreted it to mean there would be 7 years of plenty followed by 7 of famine and thus enabled Egypt to prepare for the worst (Genesis 41).

It’s so good we can look to the Lord, for He’s in charge…

The second signpost – Iran – is getting closer

Cleansing Wind – Winds of Change

Thank you to ‘Tucson Tony’ for reminding me of a dream of his featuring a tornado and about which we’d corresponded. Along with another dream, we think they’re relevant to my post on Weighing waves, tsunami & tornado… and which are as follows (NB.dates US-style):

CLEANSING WIND – posted February 8th 2013

‘I had a dream 02/07/2013 where I saw what looked like a tornado except it didn’t come down from the sky. It didn’t move haphazardly but had purpose and direction. I called it a tornado as I mentioned above, however, in the dream I heard it get called a cleansing wind. I saw the cleansing wind enter a church and I saw books and other things being blown out the window of the church. I believe the books to be man-made doctrines. The wind did not miss anything inside of the church. It was truly cleansing the church of things that didn’t belong in the church. As for the papers in my dream, they could be indicative of such things as church bylaws which make the church an organization and not a body which is a living organism.’

I remarked on this post: “Tony, could this be connected to the Lord’s perspective on Hurricane Sandy, as given to Sharon Stone? (see http://wp.me/p1Y1yB-2om)”. He said he’d check it and responded by reminding me of this dream which pre-dated Hurricane Sandy’s emergence by exactly two of months (Wikipedia):

WINDS OF CHANGE – posted August 27th 2012

‘On Friday August 24, I started hearing the phrase, “winds of change”. As I began praying about this, I saw a woman holding onto a flagpole and she was perpendicular to the flagpole because the wind was so powerful and she was hanging on for dear life. I then began to be reminded of a dream that I had 2 years prior that I am re-posting below.

‘I had a dream 9/8/2010 about a large storm that was out in the  Atlantic ocean and it was just sitting there, not moving at all. Then I saw a man standing on the state of Florida and he was holding in his hands a pair of the red tipped flash lights that the guys on the tarmac use to guide the jets in and he was signalling to the storm to come towards him.

‘These 2 things are related, I believe, to one another. There is a  political convention happening in Florida from which it is hoped that a new leader will be chosen and subsequently elected representing a change in regime. This storm is both physical and spiritual in nature.

‘Neither party can be the change that is needed here in America which will be brought about by  repentance and turning back to the God of our Fathers.

‘Something to definitely take to the Lord in prayer.’

Picking up a golden thread in the Lord’s tapestry

www-St-Takla-org--The-Ark-of-the-CovenantIn weighing words that prophesy heavenly waves, tides, tsunami and tornado coming to earth, let’s pick up a golden thread that’s also been brought by many – that of God’s glory!

We continue weighing those words with a couple of scriptures:

Arise, shine; for your light has come and the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth and deep darkness the people; but the LORD will arise over you, and His glory will be seen upon you. (Isaiah 60:1-2 NKVJ)

This beginning of signs Jesus did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed in Him. (John 2:11 NKJV)

And how do we ‘weigh’ His glory. According to my New Spirit-filled Life Study Bible’s notes for those verses, the Hebrew provides an excellent clue. On Isaiah 60:1 it reads:

Glory, chabod (Strong’s#3519): Weightiness; that which is substantial or heavy; glory, honor, splendor, power, wealth, authority…etc. The root chabad, “to be heavy, glorious, notable” or “to be renowned”. In the OT, “heaviness” represented honor and substance, whereas “lightness” was equated with vanity, instability, temporariness, emptiness.’

On John 2:11 the ‘Word Wealth’ note reads:

Glory, doxa (Strong’s #1391) Compare “doxology”, “paradox”, “orthodoxy”. Originally an opinion or estimation in which one is held. Then the word came to denote the reputation, good standing and esteem given to a person. The NT doxa becomes splendor, radiance and majesty centered in Jesus. Here (2:1) doxa is the majestic, absolute perfection residing in Christ and evidenced in the miracles He performed.’

The latter concept is the one that probably springs into mind whenever we read or hear of ‘glory’. Yet when the Lord’s holy presence comes into a meeting, a sudden sensation of a weighty atmosphere can be tangibly felt. Very often, those gathered can no longer remain standing but sway or bend, even fall to the floor and remain there for a long time – some refer to it as “being ‘slain’ in the Spirit”.

Recap

In finding yesterday (Wed), then arranging in a seemingly right sequence, three prophetic words for the UK > four waves > tsunami and tornado > the nation will turn, a few things popped into mind as I wrote.

One of them related to having seen in a night vision the brilliance and awesome powerful effect of God’s glory upon heaven opening, rather than referring to the very few occasions it’s fallen on me in meetings.

Simon Braker speaks of a third wave that “swept across the nation and washed the nation clean to the point that it shone!”

Graham Brown reports, “I saw a window opening in heaven and it was gradually going back further and further and further. And then I could hear voices from glory, with the glory of God shining down, upon the tornado and the tsunami.”

Amanda WellsThe third person, Amanda Wells from Queensland, refers to England “coming into a time of amazing wonders, or supernatural phenomena, and miracles. This is going to manifest in an amazing release of glory breaking out all around you, everywhere you go.”

I’d searched for some information on each person and the words attributed to them. At the last of the three, I went to her website and learned about Amanda’s experience in the Glory during her recent visit to Europe. Her account on 12th March reads as follows (emphases mine):

“YOU’VE DECLARED IT; AND I’VE ESTABLISHED IT!”

‘I have just returned from a ministry trip to the UK and Germany and while I was there had an amazing encounter with God that has totally changed my life. The words ‘You’ve Declared It; and I’ve Established It,’ resounded in my spirit for the 3 weeks I was there!

‘This generation is at a pivotal time. Things are shifting. The heavens are leaning in and angels are watching and showing up…. God is moving and shifting things in ways we’ve never anticipated or expected. Are we ready?

11041768_10153904425684897_481936695686206223_n

‘Hope for tomorrow and strength for today is found in Jesus. It is entirely, completely and always found in Him. His love is unending and faithful. His grace and mercy always true. Through the years He’s always been there and He will always be. The single greatest tragedy in the people of this generation is a lack of encounter with Him. [Nathan Morris often stresses this point. RB] We are continually trying to push forward, without stopping to connect with heaven so as to download what we see and hear onto the earth. For the past four years when I pray before I preach, I have sensed to say the same thing, ‘ Your kingdom come today, let Heaven be on earth today and signs and wonders follow the Word’.

‘After declaring this in the first meeting in the UK, just 4 hours after a long 28-hour flight, I heard the Lord say, “You’ve declared it, and I have now established it”. Suddenly God broke out in amazing healings, but also ‘wonders’, that had everyone astounded. Pastors struck dumb, young teens struck dumb, some frozen in the one position for hours, older people in their late 70’s – 80’s seeing and hearing the angelic realm, to name a few occurrences that happened.

angel

‘God gave me a word that has laid heavily on me for the few weeks, for the United Kingdom and for Australia. It came out of Isaiah 8 v 18 (a) ‘Behold, I and the children, whom the Lord hath given me, are for signs and for wonders… This is the time of wonders, outstanding signs and wonders. England is coming into a time of amazing wonders, supernatural phenomena in an unprecedented outpouring, where the River is being poured out like we have never seen before.

‘During this trip God gave me a message that I have never preached or looked at before, about the Glory. I saw a picture of myself in darkness yet ascending up a mountain and as I was on top I saw God’s glory in a cloud descending upon me. The Lord then showed me how the Glory, isn’t for us to just enjoy but it is His invitation to marriage, and the bedchamber. The cloud or as the Hebrews call it ‘a huppah’ is where the bridegroom sends out an incredible invitation, He calls, ‘will you marry Me.’ Is it any wonder the Israelites were in mortal fear as they heard not just One voice but a voice that thundered from the Heavens, ‘will you marry Me?’

‘The Hebrew for thunder and lightenings is ‘glorified voices of fire’. Can you imagine back in that day, hearing God cry ‘”Will you marry Me?”. Only one responded, Moses! (You can purchase the MP3 ‘the cloud of Glory, please contact me) ‘Christ in us, the Hope of Glory’.

‘Our link to heaven and our intimacy with the King is the hope for the world. How we connect with Jesus, and how through that connection we live THROUGH Him and not just for Him will result in revival. Great is His faithfulness. We can’t perform on Sunday our way forward; we can’t make the things of heaven happen here on earth, apart from Him. We declare it and He establishes it, but as He establishes, we have to believe and receive His signs and wonders! The signs and the wonders are released, when we lean in.

‘When we press in. When we lay aside our best plans and rise up in all that He is through us. He’s always been here, and He is leaning toward us today. I made a fresh commitment in the UK to lean in more, to encounter more, to ‘wait on the Lord’ longer, and to live in the presence of heaven. In all I do: in life, ministry and business, I want to live in heaven and see it manifest on earth. I want to partner with heaven.

‘I want to live in a prophetic realm where angels dance and sing and all the answers I could ever need and they are poured out like a waterfall, ever flowing, from His River, always available.

‘Champions, who are brave enough to stand and live in freedom, need to live in prayer, presence and worship leading to a constant encounter!

‘The world needs a revival. They need refreshing. They’re struggling, groping and seeking for something to change…for something to shift. We are their shifting point, we are the alignment they need, and we are the conduits that heaven uses to download into the earth.

maxresdefault

This is a pivotal time and all of heaven stands waiting. Will you join me? Will you lean into an encounter with Him and be the manifestation that all creation is crying out for?’

Amanda Wells

Thank you Lord – and Amanda, as well as Kingdom Vision for posting her on their site. Oh Lord, let this be time for your Glory, as seen on Norman James’ face 20 years ago when he was blessed with the same vision of Britain his prayer-partner Wigglesworth had (as here). Amen, and again amen.

To conclude, we have very encouraging words from the Lord to our prophetically gifted brethren and which we’re obliged to weigh carefully. Also, I think we’ve come across yet more pieces to the ‘Invisible Jigsaw’!

Weighing waves, tsunami & tornado and a turning of the tide

tsunami_edIn mulling over and catching up on more prophetic words for the UK I’d invite you to weigh them with me.

The first, brought by a leader of City Gates Church Leicester (details here), appears related in part to ‘a tsunami of evil’ as reported by Vicki in her comment upon my vision of a wall of water (here). The earlier word brings a warning and reminds me Dr Sharon Stone said that Rev Bill Hamon had told her of the likelihood a very strong demonic kickback in mid-2015:

Four Waves Heading Towards The UK – Simon Braker, 28 Feb 2015

As I was waiting on God this morning the Lord gave me a vision. I saw waves heading towards the UK at speed their impact was imminent.

The first was a wave of prayer. The second a wave or miracles and healing. The third was a wave of reformation – this wave swept across the nation and washed the nation clean to the point that it shone!

However I saw a fourth contrary wave, it was coming to try to cut off what the Lord was planning, it was black and red and full of anger and violence.

I heard the Lord say,

“The enemy is trying to raise up a spirit of hatred and violence to cut off the coming move of my Spirit, he is flooding the world with shocking images to try to generate rage and anger not only in the world but also in the church.”

I heard Him say,

“Brace yourself and guard your heart for the enemy is about to reveal such wickedness it will shake you to your core, pray protection over the heart of my people for I cannot move in the midst of bitterness and unforgiveness.

“Guard your heart from all hatred and anger for this is the contrary wave the enemy would seek to unleash in the earth at this time.”

The Tsunami and the Tornado – Graham Brown, August 2012

Thank you to Suzanne Payne for this, which reminds me of when I saw the heavens opening to let the Glory of God shine down upon and totally collapse a raging tornado of evil. Nevertheless, there’s no reason why the winds of the Holy Spirit cannot work like a tornado for the Lord’s purposes. Also it’s interesting to read Graham’s reference to glory:

I was reading the Bible at home & was going to go through the book of Zechariah. And as I opened it up, so it was like a huge panoramic cinema screen in my front room. I couldn’t believe it. And right in the middle of the picture there was a huge F5 tornado going like anything. And I could hear it roaring.

And then I could see a tsunami. And then the Lord showed me a picture of the whole of the UK, and the tornado went on its side, so you had the tsunami and the tornado just off Lands End ready to come over. And I said why Lord? and the Lord said they both represent My Spirit. The wind and the water both representing My Spirit, and the power of My Spirit.

So then He started to take me through some scriptures. Zech 4:6 “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might not by power but by My Spirit says the Lord. He wants to do a tremendous work of God in the UK but it’s going to be by His Spirit. So He told me then to go to Zech 8. V 18-19 Then the word of the Lord of hosts came to me, saying, “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘the fast of the fourth month, the fast of the fifth, the fast of the seventh, and the fast of the tenth, shall be joy and gladness and cheerful feasts for the house of Judah’. You know really praising God and seeking after God.

Zech 8:20-22 “Thus says the Lord of hosts: ‘Peoples shall yet come, inhabitants of many cities; The inhabitants of one city shall go to another, saying, “let us continue to go and pray before the Lord, and seek the Lord of hosts. I myself will go also.” Yes, many peoples and strong nations shall come to seek the Lord of hosts in Jerusalem, And to pray before the Lord.’

And so then the Lord was just showing me this picture of one Christian going to join another Christian. Groups of Christians going from one city to another city and linking together in real koinonia, real fellowship, real togetherness, crying out to God, praising God.

And as that was happening, so the tornado started, first in Cornwall and all round that end and then right the way up through. As it was going up through, so the Lord really put the scripture on my heart, Zech 12:10, I will pour out on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication.

He then took me back to Zech 4:6 “This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: Not by might not by power but by My Spirit says the Lord. Then he had me look down a bit further, v 7-9 ‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone with shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”’”

And it was ‘grace to it, grace to it.’ And then all of a sudden, in the picture I just heard Christians linking together, crying out, praising, but they were crying grace to it, grace to it, grace to it, to this tsunami, and this tornado, as it was going up, and then I heard voices from heaven saying ‘rolling prayer, rolling prayer, rolling prayer’. And then as they were saying that I saw a window opening in heaven and it was gradually going back further and further and further.

And then I could hear voices from glory, with the glory of God shining down, upon the tornado and the tsunami. And I could hear ‘rolling prayer, grace to it’ over and over. And as the tsunami and the tornado were going over people, so they were being cleansed. They weren’t being harmed. All the darkness was being pushed back with the glory of God gradually coming through this open portal in the glory.

And that tsunami and that tornado went right the way up the country. And then it got up to Scotland. And I could just hear all this roaring going on, and Christians crying out. And then it started to come down again, but as the water was coming back down, so the water was going either side of the UK as well as on the UK.

Word for England: the Nation Will Turn – Amanda Wells, 24 March 2015

This word brought by an Australian coach may relate to the ‘arrow-prayer’ request, Lord, turn the tide in the UK – AND to what happened in the general election (as here):

This is the time of wonders, outstanding signs and wonders. England you are coming into a time of amazing wonders, or supernatural phenomena, and miracles.

This is going to manifest in an amazing release of glory breaking out all around you, everywhere you go. England this is a year where God is measuring you, amending, changing, renovating, and turning you. God is releasing a new Grace and favour to you, so as to turn around the persuading doubt that has come like a cloud over the nation, God is going to turn impossible situations around, and it will seem even in a day the Nation will turn.

Isaiah 8 v 18 ‘Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwells in mount Zion.’

Intercessors note 70-year election significance too

Detail from Eagle-eyed by John Mark Long‘Twas just a hunch, but I went out on a limb after Ken Gott remarked, “Something of God happened in the election…” (as at #5 here). I asked him,

“Have you noticed the ‘coincidence’ of yesterday’s doubly historic events being related to a 70-year period? – possibly a Biblical one at that!”  This was news to him.

It seemed significant to me that such unexpected results, ones which will change our government, fall on exactly the same day as the celebration of Victory in Europe (8th May 1945). Me being me, I’d spotted they were 70 years apart! So in closing that blog, I surmised:

“Now, 70 years after victory over a common foe, could Britain at long last have an opportunity to move out of its ‘Babylonian captivity’ (as in The Babylonian aspect of the Church’s ‘New Era’)? The ancient Jews were held captive there for 70 years after the fall of Jerusalem before being allowed to return to their holy city.”

That post was published mid-afternoon and so I started winding down for our usual long weekend. But within the hour a comment arrived from ‘Father’s House of Prayer’ with astonishing confirmation of my hunch! I was most pleasantly shocked – ‘God-smacked’ in fact!

LH at ‘Father’s House’ also emailed me with what she’d been working on for a couple of days. Of course, she had no way of knowing what I’d been thinking three weeks earlier.

With her kind permission – and emphases mine – this is what LH wrote:

“Hi Richard, I’m not sure how to put this on comments, I started to, but there seems a lot so thought I would email. I started this 2 days ago and have just received Stunning Election Results from you. All I can say is I believe what you have written is spot on and have set out below what happened with us.

“On the morning of 7th May, ‘J-1’, ‘J-2’ and myself met early at ‘B’ to pray regarding the leaders and the election. Pastor was at conference but had text the night before to pray Jeremiah 29.7 [as below], something which I had been drawn to all week.

As we prayed it out ‘J-1’ was reminded of the promise to Daniel and the fact that it was significant that the election result would coincide with the 70 years celebration of VE Day – as we continued to pray in line with what was in Daniel.

20150506_182254277_iOS“Continuing, I ‘saw’ – was reminded of – the pictures of people praying outside Parliament the previous evening and immediately Father reminded me of the prophecy which had started me praying out the promises of revival for this nation. It was in a letter of July 1st 2009 from Kenneth Copeland and said,

2 Chronicles 7: 14 and 15

“It’s not going to happen until we do what we are called to do and O Lord

14 If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven forgive their sin and heal their land.

15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place.

“This is the time that has been prophesied about, and at stake here is not only your welfare in the land, but also My move in the end times of a great awakening,” saith the Lord. “And it is that Awakening that will save this land and others like it. For it is the time of the coming of the Lord. And you will rise up, and you will be My Name and you will be My power. And I will manifest Myself through you, and many shall come and say, ‘Surely He is the God of all good’.” Hallelujah. Praise God. Whew! Whoa! Amen.

“Amen

“I hadn’t got this board [map and prophecies] out that morning, but I immediately ran for it and felt the Lord say this was done because we (the nation) very publicly the previous evening had done what we had been called to do and lined up with the very first part.

“What was particularly exciting when I read Cindy’s word was we (and I would imagine many others) had specifically prayed that the body of Christ would not back off in prayer once the election was over. We were also reminded of Smith’s 1947 and how important it was that it spread to Europe. [Dr Stone had also stressed this continuance in prayer. Wigglesworth’s vision may be read in latter part of this post.]

“Whilst away in Turkey, Father had been specifically speaking to me about governing in the spirit when seeking the welfare of the city […omitted]. That, just as Reece Howells’ people targeted specifics in the war, we were to do the same with those in authority.

“I hope this makes some sort of sense to you and really I just wanted to say thank you and I believed it tied in with what you have been posting, but I couldn’t really find a way of condensing it.”

Jeremiah 29:7 ….Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” 8 Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have. 9 They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them,” declares the Lord.

10 This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.[b] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Daniel 9 In the first year of Darius son of Xerxes (a Mede by descent), who was made ruler over the Babylonian kingdom— 2 in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the Lord given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years. 3 So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.

Thank you so much my friend for confirmation that brings us all strong encouragement as well as great blessing…

UPDATE:

LH also informs me that Pastor Ray Kelly of Global Prayer Alert Network shared this from last Friday’s prayer summary about the above prophetic word (emphases added):

“I had this come to me. I love reading about men and women and what the Lord has done in their lives, like brother Hagin especially. I love to read and go over the prophecies that he declared. But I just felt the Spirit saying to me that those days are over and we’ve entered into new days, as we “turn the page.” These are not the old days, but these are the days that brother Hagin prophesied about. When he said “we are right on the verge of that glory”, these are the days that he was speaking about. Thank You, Father, for the flow of Your Spirit today. Thank You for enabling us to go out into the new, to pray it out and sing it out. We get it that these are new days. You’ve put Your Spirit within us, enabling us to press out ahead. These are glory days filled with Your presence enabling us to carry out Your plan and purpose.”

Brief bullet points on the Lord’s action in Britain

Houses of Parliament: courtesy FreeDigitalPhotos.netLast week I asked “Is God behind the General Election results?“. If you weren’t able to note my observations on why that may be so, the following will update and prepare you for the next post:

  • ‘A handful of prominent Christians…lost their seats, but this was more than compensated for by an influx of new Christians across the political spectrum… and Prime Minister David Cameron is back in power with a Cabinet full of Christian ministers.’  [‘His Grace’ Cranmer on LibDem leader Tim Fallon, as #3 here.]
  • Two Christian street preachers have been cleared of all charges after arrests in Basildon and Hereford.’ [Christian Concern report 27th May – praise the Lord.]
  • Intercessory group noted significance of 70-year period for Britain – see next post for details. [Item #6 of and conclusion to ‘Stunning General Election results’ refer.]

Dr Sharon Stone: authority over Time

Key to the KingdomFunny to think that the first posts on this blog referred to time travel. Upon start-up in November 2011, I introduced the concept of eschatology (Not many people know this...) and in explaining Why I’m on the lookout I took readers on an imaginary trip in a ‘time machine’ to learn the key to foretelling the future.

Early last year I blogged about prophesying into Time and, lately, set up a new menu hub on Cycles and Time  If this topic intrigues you too, then you may like this:

Sharon Stone - Time

Click to enlarge for reading details

Cruising on a sunny morning along the Hogsback to the exuberant scherzo of the finale to Sibelius’ fifth Symphony was relaxing. The panoramic view from this long, high ridge between Farnham and Guildford over lush green meadows extends towards Ascot and, over the horizon, to Windsor Great Forest.

Once the consignment of parcels for Book-Aid was delivered to Old Woking my return leg of the 60-mile trip headed south of the Hogsback and over picturesque Surrey hills  to ascend to the tunnel piercing the highest crest at Hindhead. From thence, the long descent via woodlands and fields to market town of Petersfield and cutting up through the South Downs, from where the sea can be espied, could get me to Portsmouth in a little over half an hour, if I were going so far.

It was opportune to listen to a CD that Dr Sharon Stone mentioned earlier this month. After the teaching time I noticed its title’s reference to ‘Time’ and got a copy.

hare-clock2Only a day or so beforehand had I completed this blog’s new hubs by revisiting my thoughts on the corkscrew nature of time. In doing so I was ‘nudged’ to write an introductory piece on its connection with eternity and prophecy.

Now, listening to the recording of Sharon, I was astonished that she refers in a similar manner to the scriptures on time disruption I’d noted. Her teaching, however, augments my notes greatly in providing an account of a deep revelatory insight into the relationship between Eternity and Time.

Furthermore, in citing the scriptural record of how two ladies modified Jesus’ own time-frame and associated action plan, Sharon explained how we can possibly take authority over Time. This enables practical and beneficial advantages to be gained in our walk with Him. [Ref: “My hour is not yet come” and “Let the children be filled first” in John 2:4 and Mark 7:27 respectively.]

Now, to listen to the other CD ‘Breaking the Spirit of Delay’.

So, if you’re keen to be at the ‘cutting edge’ of prophetic teaching I strongly recommend obtaining a copy of this 2-CD set from Christian International Europe. As the product is not yet on the website please email office@cieurope.org, stating your full postal address and discuss method of payment and delivery.

PS: legal-eagle’s opinion post-election

As ever, learned lawyer-cum-blogger Frank Cranmer offers stimulating opinion on the General Election and Christians in Law and Religion UK and in Archbishop Cranmer. NB: see correction from Frank in comments below.

For your enlightenment, here are opening/closing remarks to three of his latest blogs, to which I’ve added a few emphases.

Images are courtesy of his blog. Please click them for links to the full articles.:

1. A British Bill of Rights is wholly contingent upon Britain leaving the EU

Noteworthy how the Human Rights Act is now coming into focus in view of the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta (see previous post). His Grace Cranmer opens:

Bill-of-Rights

‘(Yesterday’s) Queen’s Speech is the first to be delivered on behalf of a majority Conservative government since 1996, when John Major was Prime Minister and ‘Europe’ was tearing his party asunder…..

[Closes:] ‘A British ‘Bill of Rights’ is supposed to embrace British values. These would include the foundational principle of the Common Law, which is antithetical to the EU Napoleonic model of law, Corpus Juris. It has been found by experience that Common Law is the bulwark against state tyranny and the best guarantor of our liberties.

‘So, as the Prime Minister and Lord Chancellor summon their commission of consultation, could they ensure that it includes those voices which may define what British values are or ought to be included in a British ‘Bill of Rights’? And, having done that, might they explain how this new British ‘Bill of Rights’ might justify Anglican Establishment in an age of moral relativism and religious equality? And, having done that, could they please clarify how the Bill might be consistent with the Prime Minister’s stated preference for remaining a full and participating member of the political institutions of the European Union?’

See also, Will plans for a British Bill of Rights be reduced to a Bill for England only?

2. The Christian Deception about Conservatives and Human Rights

Reference to foundational Magna Carta and its subsequent importance in English history is implicit. Cranmer opens:

Gove-More‘There is a lie permeating the Christian social-media detachment that the Conservative quest to repeal New Labour’s Human Rights Act amounts to an assault upon fundamental human rights; that somehow Tories are inherently opposed to limitations on the state and to the basic protections and assurances of justice and liberty which have been set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights – the ‘Human Rights Charter’ – which the UK helped to draft in the aftermath of World War II. No doubt the Church of England (or, rather, certain anti-Conservative bishops and clergy) will be vocal in their opposition to repeal, insisting (erroneously, not to say misleadingly) that the Government’s intention to replace the Human Rights Act 1998 with a British ‘Bill of Rights’ constitutes an immoral political degradation, if not a grave social evil.

‘Michael Gove is the new Justice Secretary and Lord Chancellor. The role is not quite as it was when Sir Thomas More kept the Great Seal with “like place, pre-eminence, jurisdiction, execution of laws, and all other customs, commodities, and advantages”. But like More, Gove is a lay churchman of great intellect and integrity with a profound understanding of theology, ecclesiology, social philosophy and jurisprudence…

[Closes:] ‘And those Christians who spread the lie that to oppose Labour’s Human Rights Act is to oppose the very notion of human rights need to consider the temporal repercussions of perpetuating grave injustice, as well as the eternal consequences of spreading such disinformation. Michael Gove may not be a man for all seasons, but he is the Queen’s good servant, if not God’s first.’

3. Tim Farron ‘clarifies’ his Christian convictions in pursuit of LibDem leadership

Cranmer opens (emphases added):

Tim-Farron‘There is no doubt that Christian representation in Parliament came out well in this General Election. A handful of prominent Christians including Simon Hughes, Douglas Alexander and Jim Murphy lost their seats, but this was more than compensated for by an influx of new Christians across the political spectrum. Ed Miliband failed to become this country’s first atheist Prime Minister and David Cameron is back in power with a Cabinet full of Christian ministers.

‘Now that we are moving into the traditional phase of post-election leadership contests, there is a very real chance that for both Labour and the LibDems their new leaders could well end up being Christians, too….

[Closes:] ‘The LibDems have traditionally had a sizeable Christian presence in Parliament, but also have a strong and vocal LGBT and pro-abortion contingent. Any leader of a party needs to hold the views of its members in tension, but Farron’s desire to reach the top would appear to be leading him to pander to certain groups. In his essay, he writes: “To be a Christian is to submit to ultimate truth, fairness and goodness – some of which will jar with our current state of socialisation.” Sometimes that means sticking up for certain values even if it makes you unpopular and draws criticism. For a Christian, submission to God should always come before submission to man.

‘There is a belief among many Christians that party politics and faith can never really mix. To have a party leader with a sound grasp of the gospel and who is fully committed to his or her faith – to the point of demonstrating it in the voting choices they make – would go a long way to disproving this view. Tim Farron has that chance and he carries the hopes of many Christians and non-Christians both within and outside of the Liberal Democrats. This could be an opportunity for him to forge ahead with a leadership built on personal integrity and strong moral conviction. He has many fine qualities that will serve him well should he win, but, as it stands – certainly on recent evidence – the indication is that when it comes to political ambition and Christian conviction, there is only one winner.’

It’s said that, when in power in the previous coalition, the LibDems pushed for same-sex marriage. So their loss of almost all MPs is poignant.

Conclusion

I trust this will enable us to gain a handle on what’s happening, especially in regard to the continuing need to pray for our leaders as Apostle Paul urged in 1Timothy 2:1-2.

Stunning General Election results – is God behind them?

Cloud over Windsor June 2011

Three weeks ago today citizens of the United Kingdom voted for their representatives as Members of Parliament. Overnight exit polls and the next day’s final results shocked most analysts and pundits.

MAGNA CARTA

In fact, such a change is highly appropriate for this 800th anniversary year of a far more revolutionary political act: King John’s agreement to affix his seal to the Magna Carta. The gathering of his barons in a Thames-side meadow at Runnymede, a few miles outside Windsor, to present the large petitionary document to the king, will be commemorated in a civic ceremony on the actual anniversary,15th June, at a memorial built by our American cousins.

The world famous Magna Carta or ‘Great Charter’ was a practical solution to the political and financial crisis facing the king in 1215, yet it laid the foundation of liberty – of individual freedom, parliamentary democracy and subjection not to royalty, but to the supremacy of law.

That is, it established for the first time the principle that everybody, including the king, was subject to the common law of the land. The British Library states that, although nearly a third of the text was deleted or substantially rewritten within ten years, and almost all its clauses have been repealed in modern times, Magna Carta still remains a cornerstone of the British constitution. I’d add that its great influence extends to the Commonwealth’s and to the United States of America’s legal systems.

Now let’s consider some apolitical observations and possibly prophetical points.  I’m rather ‘long in the tooth’ and therefore cynical about politics. At the time of the election we were preparing to go away for some rest and recuperation. Hence the delay in blogging. Even so, when I got around to starting this post’s draft last week I was directed to look up a special photo, as above, which sync’d into what I had in mind, as explained below.

ELECTION RESULTS

Three of UK’s main political parties got thrashed and trashed on 7th May 2015. Leaders of the coalition Liberal Democrats and opposition Labour parties resigned and the leader of the UK Independence Party lost his seat with ensuing furore over leadership. Astonishing wins of the Scottish Nationalist Party in taking its seats from 6 to 56 brought a wholesale change to politics north of the border, as indicated in this cartoon by Adams (click image for more). It was a night of shocking surprises for many well-known MPs in the loss of their seats.

ADAMS20150508end3_3296199k

Something unique happened and marked 8th May as a historic day – maybe a tipping point in not only Britain’s political but also spiritual status?  It presages remarkable winds-of-change blowing right across and re-shaping the political spectrum. It stunned not only politicians but also pundits – and particularly in proving the latter unsound.

We’d taken scant notice of pre-election news and discussions for we loathe carping speculation of ‘talking heads’. As Christians, we have serious reservations about most parties’ policies, but the Prime Minister’s saving grace is that of not being anti-Israel. As the Lord was behind the changes, that point may well have helped David Cameron. AND, he is going to sort out the BBC at long last! (See Tories going to war with BBC.)

That said, here are my observations in sequential relevance:

1. Cloud Over Windsor 2011

Alan May’s above photo of a cloud taken from Windsor on Garter Day June 2011 seems prophetical.  Does it hint at a separation between Scotland and mainland Britain?  The fact it was taken there may be of profound significance. (More details in this post about prayers in Parliament and about Windsor – note reference to ringing of bell in the first. The link to the photo has been taken down because of overwhelming demand upon the source article – a newspaper in Newbury, Berks.)

2. Vision of Bells in Scotland

Does Tony Puccio’s vision in far away Tucson, Arizona, of bells ringing in Scotland relate to the great jubilation of the SNP and voters? It sure does! In early April Tony blogged:

“I’m going to go out on a limb here and post this. Earlier in the afternoon of 4/16/2015 I was driving home and I began to hear bells ringing. I saw and heard church bells in steeples ringing smaller bells as well were ringing. They were ringing over Scotland.  I’m not sure as to their purpose but I just am posting what I was seeing and hearing.”

It attracted many comments and I remarked, “Ha bells again Tony – that’s how we linked up in 2012! (see ‘Get Ready’ – Paul Revere’s Ride and revival in UK) This time my first impression is of definite warning in view of next month’s elections…nationalist party strongly rocking the boat, probably going to trash Labour Party… There have been plenty of strong prophetic words for Scotland, however, and maybe it’s time to ‘ring out these changes’!” (eg see Dr Sharon Stone, Jane Hamon and the McKies – emphasis added)

Regarding deception over voting in Scotland and divisive power see Revd Dr Clifford Hill’s warning Call to pray for the UK.

3. Lord, Turn The Tide!

I was astonished the election results could show that my prayer request “Lord, turn the tide in the UK” seems to have been met in a promising way. Also in connection with the strongly anti-Christian policies dominating and contributing to the decay of society’s moral fibre, maybe it relates to the Rock (being Christ) I saw emerge through a tear in the rotten fabric of our national life, as in the open vision that confronted me in 2004. (For details read Comments upon the collapse of Society.)

4. Sharon Stone’s Remarks

At her Windsor mentoring day on 9th May Dr Sharon Stone taught on patterns and principles of developing a ‘forerunner’s heart’. She said on these occasions there is always a tug-of-war between disappointment and excitement but this shaking leaves a vulnerability because of people resigning and leaving their positions. So, there’s now an unexpected period of re-establishment and things manoeuvering around that the enemy can take advantage of.

Therefore, prophetic intercessors should be taking advantage of this to turn things around because, even though there have been significant changes, all these things need praying through. As a historical example, Sharon referred to the monarchy’s actions in Windsor of calling out the sick to line up for healing prayer! (Akin to Maunday Thursday practices?) She then said,

“God is shifting the church today. We all have to be more inclusive in all areas, we’ve got to ascend from the priestly area of worship and devotion to that of prophetic revelation and to the apostolic decree as well in both worship and prayer – (thus) we can proclaim what He says.”

Sharon taught on how the account in Acts 12 of Peter’s supra-natural release from prison can be applied to opening up civic and governmental places and situations to the Kingdom of God – keys to open and shut gates of our cities. We’re not just to watch and protect but open up our communities to the purposes of God, that Jesus be glorified in the midst of people, seen for who He really is and that He be loved and accepted there.

5. Revd Ken Gott

The next session on the power of Godly inheritance was delivered by Ken Gott of House of Prayer Europe in Sunderland. He gave an example of how this happened personally via the influence of a man, whose mother had been saved through a miraculous, re-creative healing at a meeting held by early 20th Century evangelist Stephen Jeffreys. That young son’s very first convert was Ken’s great-grandmother.

On the recent election, Ken remarked,

“Something of God happened in the election….I confirm that something of the Spirit moved in that election, moved in our nation. Political commentators got it drastically wrong, the commentators were shocked, the pollsters were amazed how wrong they got it – and everybody’s looking at each other saying we never saw this, we never saw it!

“I’m not saying I’m for the Tories, for a Tory government, for David Cameron, or whatever – but what we need is God. And God orchestrated it…

“I believe we will yet find out that God orchestrated something in the last couple of days! I’m 100% totally, totally convinced of it!”

“We’d been praying all day that we would have Godly men, men who were taught righteously, that they would be courageous in their decision-making and be Godly. We prayed and covered the whole election from the time the polling stations were opened to the time they closed and the ballot boxes were opened…and God heard…

“And yet when that exit poll came out I knew God had answered that prayer, not only of ours but of others too…”

6. 70-year Period

After his message I approached Ken and Michael Marcell, who was with him, and asked both if they’d noticed the ‘coincidence’ of the previous day’s doubly historic events being related to a 70-year period – and possibly a Biblical one at that!

The 8th May not only brought the amazing election results for a new government’s historic victory but also celebrated the 70th anniversary of VE-Day (1945 Victory in Europe over Nazi Germany). Also, that day’s VE-Day memorial service at the Cenotaph, Whitehall, was attended by all political leaders – The Telegraph’s sub-line: ‘Cruel quirk of timing throws defeated leaders Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg together with victors David Cameron and Nicola Sturgeon’.

7. Cindy Jacobs’ Word for UK

A few days later Michael met Cindy Jacobs, who too remarked upon the significance of the election and brought a greatly encouraging prophetic word for the UK, as copied in this earlier post.

HA, LOL – an unintentional 7 items yet again!!

Significance of 70-year cycle

Now, 70 years after victory over a common foe, could Britain at last have an opportunity to move out of ‘Babylonian captivity’ (as in The Babylonian aspect of the Church’s ‘New Era’)?  The ancient Jews were held captive there for 70 years after the fall of Jerusalem in 586BC before being allowed by Persian king Cyrus to return to their holy city.

I will be making several points on this cycle in due course, as intimated in closing Lion Bites God-incidents:.

Meanwhile, read PS: legal-eagles’ opinion post-election as well as Intercessors note 70-year election significance too.

Wake up and be set on fire!

fire-of-Holy-Spirit-300x194A loud noise from builders outside awoke me with a start!  It’s the first time in a long time I’d overslept! The alarm had gone off early for Nina to get up (I’d already been up with the dawn). I jumped up as I’d just over half an hour to ‘break fast’, get ready and get out with her before the local crowds descended in town.

An hour later at my desk this Lion Bites email was near the top of my in-tray: L.O.L.!

WAKE UP AND BE SET ON FIRE!

“I heard the Holy Spirit repeat the same phrase three times:

“Wake up and be set on fire!”
“Wake up and be set on fire!”
“Wake up and be set on fire!”

“As these words were decreed, I ‘saw’ the phrase shooting out over all lands, all nations and, ultimately, landing on all His people.

“To those who chose to listen to the wake-up call from Heaven there is an encounter with the fire of God that will equip you to fulfill His coming purposes. In your response to the call to rise up from your slumber there is a whole new wave of power coming into your midst, to equip you to bring Kingdom transformation.

“Respond to this wake-up call from the Lord! Allow Him to come into your midst, right now, to wake you up in areas that you have been sleeping and allow Him to set you on fire for the sake of His name.

Ephesians 5:14  For this reason it says, “Awake, sleeper, And arise from the dead, And Christ will shine on you.”
Isaiah 60:1  Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you

Confirmation of the vision

aurora-uk_2192580k_Image credit Telegraph

The WORLDWIDE vision referred to above is similar to, but more extensive than, Jean Darnall’s 50 years ago of multiple fires being lit across Britain (see Prophecies fulfilled 1).

However and moreover, it reminds me of what I’d sensed a week ago yesterday and which was God-incidentally confirmed the same day by Angela Jeff. She commented early the next morning on my post about Nathan Morris’ prophetic outburst, “London’s Burning”, as follows:

“Yesterday I was reading a wonderful book by James A. Stewart, called “God’s New Thing” – all about Revival. It says this “The two symbols of Pentecost are WIND and FIRE . There is no set program for a cyclone or a prairie fire. A great revival is like a forest fire”. I began to think about the fact that wind conditions have a HUGE impact on the spread of a WILDFIRE.
“The Great Fire of London sprang to mind…and so I googled it and began to do some research…there are some very interesting spiritual parallels that I believe God wanted to remind me of:
“In London in 1666, conditions for the blaze were perfect. A long hot summer had left London DRY and drought had depleted water reserves (does this not sound a bit like the spiritual condition of London today – a dry and thirsty land where there is no water?!) This, coupled with a STRONG EAST WIND meant that all that was required was a SPARK! That SPARK began in a bakery (house of bread) and boom! Suddenly that SPARK became the “consuming fire” that had so often been predicted.
“Cindy Jacobs spoke of a coming “marriage of wind and fire” and Julie Meyers UK prophecy speaks of a move of God like a WILDFIRE!! I feel so stirred that God is calling us to press into these things in prayer. I believe that a second “Great Fire of London” is coming! Another interesting factor which is food for thought is that the Great Fire followed the dreadful plague which had gripped London in 1665. Some say that the fire, as dreadful as it was, was God’s mercy on the city because it purged the city of the plague. Oh how we need that burning cleansing flame to sweep through our capital city! Let’s pray for London!!”

I especially thanked Angela, saying that only yesterday I’d had a strong sense of a likely coming spiritual fire. It may have been specifically for the chapel and establishment we were gathered in for a service for healing.

fire-angels_300wAfter communion, I’d gazed at piles of logs on the lawn outside that had been gathered from the small wood around the premises.  Right away I recalled a photo taken by Gary Beaton at a similar scenario. It showed two ‘angels of fire’!  (I blogged on this a year ago this month in Sighting of angels in a fire.)

Also, I took the opportunity to refer to the “unstoppable firestorm” word brought by Bobby Conner 7 years ago this month.

Angela refers to Julie Meyer’s well-known song “The Bridegroom Cometh” reference to “wildfire”. Delivered at Voice of the Apostles conference in Pennsylvania on 20 October 2012 it prophesies revival coming to Great Britain and Europe. So I replied that Johnny Enlow had brought something in a similar vein 7 days earlier in Windsor UK. (Read my notes on him in Visitors notice heavens more open in England – posted last May! 🙂

Yes Angela, let us all agree to press in prayer for this revival.

Smith Wigglesworth’s vision for UK and Cindy Jacob’s word from the Lord

Wigglesworth

What I’d planned doing last week went wrong! Not badly so, but even so…

I was trying to download a brain blog-jam of prophetical aspects of the general election. But as I wrote more came – but I quickly got diverted by the ‘tsunami’ of what was coming from the Lord. So I couldn’t turn from or escape it but had to give a new post priority – and what a blessing it brought, as emailed privately by a few readers! Thank you Lord.

My vain plan was to schedule that election post for automatic publication in two parts on Friday at the start of our week away. The first part being the main body would be quickly followed by a word from the Lord delivered by Cindy Jacobs.  However, I realised in the early hours there was more for the main bit, and so it would be better that it be delayed and Cindy’s published first (as here).

In my busy-ness I’d not really taken in that prophetic word’s immensity – and importance of priority. It ‘sat well’ with my spirit and I knew to get it ‘re-blogged’. Then, having a hard copy for Nina and I to read, I wondered if it may connect into the open vision I had in 2004 of the Rock that is Christ arising from the land – and with what I learned 20 years ago from Norman James about his renowned prayer partner Smith Wigglesworth’s vision of revival in the UK.

Also, two highly contrasting comments were soon submitted after it was published. One was highly critical and not in a Godly spirit and, thus, unable to assess the word. Yet the other, emailed privately from David Robinson stirred my spirit. He’s kindly allowed me to publish his following remarks:

“Richard, I especially resonated with Cindy’s word.  PTL that we are on the verge in the UK of a great move of the Lord.  I have sensed for sometime in common with many words I read, doors opening and a new move of His Spirit.  We are indeed in the year of the Open Door.

“For me, I have sensed a real call to step out more and that’s just what I have been doing for several months on the streets of Banbury, my local town.  I am ‘retired’ now but there is no such thing as retirement in the Kingdom :).  The Lord has called me out onto the streets to share His love through prayer and healing with people He leads to me.  I have also felt called to open the door to bring together Churches and launch a Healing on the Streets (HOTS) Banbury ecumenically.  He has certainly opened many hearts locally. We will be launching with His help on the street at the end of June.  I can’t wait to continue to see what God is doing as I really sense an alignment with Cindy’s word – it’s time for us to step out, be bold and courageous and speak healing into the atmosphere by our very presence and carrying the Holy Spirit within us.  Additionally our new MP is a committed Christian and we are praying for her that she will continue to be a much-needed strong voice for Christian values in the House.

“What further excited me was two readings (God incidences?) that caught my attention today also.  In Friday’s (Fri May 22) Elijahlist posting Jeff Janson spoke of a 4.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred near Kalamazoo and he spoke of Malachi 4.2 “The sun of righteousness will rise with healing in His wings” and the new roar of the Lion of Judah – see http://www.elijahlist.com/words/display_word.html?ID=14741.  And today BBC also reported a 4.2 earthquake in Kent – http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-32840579.  Coincidence? [RB emphasis added.]

“I searched for Kent, or Britain, on Richards Watch and I came across this word: https://richards-watch.org/2014/05/15/keep-your-eyes-on-britain-is-the-time-now/

“These events seem significant to me and I wonder if you have heard from others in the coming days?  Pentecost is here and the Lion could roar this May (2015!).”

Over the Pentecost/Bank Holiday (which used to be called ‘Whitsun-tide’) I read this email and recalled having been with a group of charismatic Baptists, Independents and Catholics led by a Spirit-filled Anglican in 1997. We’d gathered in Leicestershire to pray and commemorate the Welsh Revival and were blessed by the company of 80 years-old Rev Norman James, who’d known Wigglesworth personally. (Moriah Chapel  website  states Evan Roberts retired after the long gruelling schedule of meetings to the home of William and Jessie Penn-Lewis in Leicestershire in Spring 1906. By 1907 he had recovered his health and became a prayer intercessor, spending up to 18 hours a day in prayer. His close and constant communion with God gave him great authority when he was moved to speak or counsel.)

In Revival – 2: prophetic word I recounted why that prayer meeting was v. remarkable:

“When this small group stood in a close circle to pray, Norman was less than a yard right in front of me.  As he was quite short, my eyes opened to gaze fully into his face and I couldn’t help but notice his eyes alight with excitement. A huge, beaming smile – he was radiant!

“Norman could hardly speak, save to whisper with intense awe, “I’ve just seen what Wigglesworth saw – Britain in revival – on fire for the Lord!”

“Ever so briefly he explained that in Wigglesworth’s 88th year the Lord had given him a vision of a future revival in Britain. He knew it would happen decades ahead but he so desperately desired to see such days.  Thus Norman confided, “No wonder he wanted the Lord to keep him alive!. But he couldn’t find the words to describe its wonder.”

Later this weekend my friend Mark Maddock emailed:

Two Words from Wigglesworth:

A recent word via Cindy Jacobs reminded me of these two words from Smith Wigglesworth, with my emphasis [ie. Mark’s]:

1. Smith Wigglesworth’s 1947 rare prophetic word about the coming move of the Holy Spirit:

“During the next few decades there will be two distinct moves of the Holy Spirit across the church in Great Britain. The first move will affect every church that is open to receive it and will be characterized by a restoration of the baptism and gifts of the Holy Spirit. The second move of the Holy Spirit will result in people leaving historic churches and planting new churches. In the duration of each of these moves, the people who are involved will say ‘This is the great revival’. But the Lord says ‘No, neither is this the great revival but both are steps towards it.

“When the new church phase is on the wane, there will be evidenced in the churches something that has not been seen before: a coming together of those with an emphasis on the Word and those with an emphasis on the Spirit. (I think we need to be actively involved in this process now – MM) [RB: a few years ago the Baptist Union, so I was told by a Baptist minister with a marked prophetic gifting, formally agreed to such a balance! PTL!]

“When the Word and the Spirit come together, there will be the biggest movement of the Holy Spirit that the nation, and indeed the world, has ever seen. It will mark the beginning of a revival that will eclipse anything that has been witnessed within these shores, even the Wesleyan and the Welsh revivals of former years. The outpouring of God’s Spirit will flow over from the UK to the mainland of Europe, and from there will begin a missionary move to the ends of the earth.”

2. This account of Wigglesworth’s End Times vision comes from Lester Sumrall’s book (pgs. 168-169), “Pioneers of Faith”:

‘Shutting his eyes again, he said, “I see the greatest revival in the history of mankind coming to planet earth, maybe as never before. And I see every form of disease healed. I see whole hospitals emptied with no one there. Even the doctors are running down the streets shouting.”

‘He told me that there would be untold numbers of uncountable multitudes that would be saved. No man will say ‘so many, so many,’ because nobody will be able to count those who come to Jesus. No disease will be able to stand before God’s people… “It will be a worldwide situation, not local,” he said, “a worldwide thrust of God’s power and God’s anointing upon mankind.” Then he opened his eyes and looked at me and said, “I will not see it, but you shall see it. The Lord says that I must go on to my reward, but that you will see the mighty works that He will do upon the earth in the last days.

‘… The idea that I would get to see this revival was almost overwhelming. And in the last decade or so, I believe we have seen this revival begin to sweep the earth. We have seen amazing moves of God in Africa… Recently, I was in China and met with the underground church. I was told there are at least forty-five million Full Gospel Christians in China. (Now over 100 million – MM). I discovered a depth of prayer and integrity there that I have not felt anywhere else in the world…

‘So I believe we are seeing Wigglesworth’s prophecy begin to be fulfilled. We are seeing the first stages of it.’ (Lester wrote this in 1995… MM)

David and Mark, I thank you and bless you for your valuable contributions.
