Jesus wants us to ask Him the right questions

The Australian Prophetic Council published the following word on 9th September brought by prophetic teacher and revivalist Amanda Wells of Brisbane. It conveys a profound, provocative reminder and reasons to change our perspective – I’m reminded of a popular motto worn on a bracelet stating ‘WWJD’ – ‘What Would Jesus Do?

We Are Asking The Wrong Questions

Amanda WellsThis week I had an encounter where I was taken again into the room where the Trinity were talking and strategising.

As I walked in they called me over to a massive table where they were talking and included me in the conversation. Jesus spoke to me and said, “Sometimes the Church are not asking the right questions, We long to give the wisdom of insight when they ask the right questions”.

He went on to say, “Many in the Church assume We are angry, and We are judging the Nations, We are neither, we are not judging Australia, UK, Europe or USA. But when we aren’t asked what WE ARE DOING in the midst of the affairs of earth, assumptions can be made and they will miss Our heart for all that is happening in the world right now”.

Jesus said to me, “We desire Our Bride to ask us why certain issues are so highlighted in the earth today, and what is the strategy of Heaven to bring transformation and reformation, not to debate as to right and wrong, as this was never the intention. To change the world My Bride need to seek ways to bring the environment into a position where it is under the influence of the kingdom, and it all begins with asking a DIFFERENT question.

“We are dismayed that instead of asking, why same sex marriage is a highlighted issue, and the perspective of Heaven in this, which is to create the greatest awakening the nations have ever seen, at times the wrong answers have been given to unasked questions of US!

“There is a massive population shift at present and the church need to ask Us what We are doing, they are moved with compassion BUT there are unasked questions and the church, if they do not ask correctly, will miss the ability to adjust their Nation’s economy to Heaven’s alignment”.

Jesus said to me, “Australia, Britain, France and Germany this is your time, you have been moved with compassion, but don’t miss the keys We want to download to you, so as to align the Nations for the greatest revival, transformation and reformation ever seen. The Nations have been pregnant with promise for a long time and now the birthing has occurred, what will you do with those who come? What is Our intention in the mass movement of people?”

Jesus went on to explain to me how the right question can be a disruptive agent that will cut through into new levels of understanding and unveil deeper and richer thoughts that will create transformation in our Nation.

What is with the Questions?

Jesus asked 307 questions, but was only asked 183!

When someone was caught in sin, or needed healing, Jesus responded by asking a question! “Woman where are your accusers?” Let’s think about it, in reality she had no idea! When Jesus asked the question, “Who touched Me?” a woman responded quickly knowing many were touching Him, and her response drew an answer; the disciples however, did not understand the power of the right question!

The enemy knows the power of the RIGHT questions and this is why he is shutting all questions down in our nations and spheres of influence. He is intimidating people with fear from asking questions and this way he shuts down supernatural solutions!

The Power of a Wrong Question

When Jesus came into the Temple (sic; synagogue) and read from Isaiah 61, everyone present sat mesmerised. God had been silent for 400 years, 10 generations, they had only heard routine and the form of religion and suddenly the atmosphere changed, it became electric as He read the words that came from the heart of the Father, they became Spirit and life. For the first time they encountered God’s presence and sensed individual Divine Significance believing that God had called them and suddenly they recognised their value.

Then someone said, “Isn’t this Joseph’s son?”
A simple question was asked and none of them were mature enough to answer it!

The question brought them all back to earth, shifted the atmosphere and that city, Nazareth became known as the City of unbelief!

He Told Me The Answer on His Lips.

“Ask Me what I am doing as Same Sex Marriage is highlighted, as Refugees are pouring out of Nations and teeming into other nations, and in the economic instability”.

He said to me, “All of these happenings are the churches biggest opportunity to see the greatest Reformation, but if My bride gives their own answer and not ask Me the questions, then Nations will miss this great opportunity. A child asks questions, so My bride must come to Me with the impassioned questioning of youth”.

Before the encounter finished I heard the Lord say, “I’m preparing the earth, each and every nation for the greatest awakening the earth has ever seen, repositioning people, families, governments, financial institutions, courts and I’m releasing a new thing”.

Australia we are on the verge of revival and awakening in every sphere of influence. Acts 3:19-21 says Jesus isn’t going to return until the restoration of all things that were spoken by the prophets since the beginning of time.

The first prophetic word in Genesis 1:28. is about to be fulfilled, as we are enter a season of unprecedented restoration and reconciliation, and we’ll see the Joseph’s, Joshua’s and Daniels arise in our midst!

Are we asking the right questions, seeking the unusual answers and not presuming we know everything already!

We have the keys to truths that will set our nation free…… Let’s use them wisely!

Notes:

  1. In my opinion, the above word plugs into how Jesus taught us to pray to Father: “Your kingdom; let it come. Your will; let it be done on earth…”.  And how are we to know His will? We should ask Him!  The Kingdom belongs to those of ‘child-like’ trusting character – those who freely ask all sorts of questions.
  2. I’m reminded my earthly dad often responded to me, “You’re always asking why? why? why?”  So it’s time to get back into that mode.

Economic crises as Shemitah year draws to a close – updated

What do economists and accountants have in common with prophetic and messianic Christians?

Both acknowledge the likelihood of global upheavals if not severe financial disruption in the next couple of months. Both groups are conversant with the cyclic nature of these events, as previously noted on this blog, but the latter group know how they relate to the Lord’s ordinances as revealed in holy scripture.

Let me update you with brief points from a couple of well-informed secular and Christian sources respectively, namely:

  • John Ficenec, editor of the Telegraph media group’s market analysis Questor column as well as qualified accountant and award-winning chartered financial analyst.
  • William Koenig, White House accredited journalist and founder of the international news service Koenig World Watch Daily, which monitors key world indicators.

john-ficenec_2723835aIn Monday’s Doomsday clock for global market crash strikes one minute to midnight as central banks lose control, John pulls no punches (emphases mine),

Time is now rapidly running out. From China to Brazil, the central banks have lost control and at the same time the global economy is grinding to a halt. It is only a matter of time before stock markets collapse under the weight of their lofty expectations and record valuations. The FTSE 100 has now erased its gains for the year, but there are signs things could get a whole lot worse….”

The strap-line to his video-led report reads: China currency devaluation signals endgame leaving equity markets free to collapse under the weight of impossible expectations. His brief summation outlines why “the great props to the world economy are now beginning to fall”.:

  1. China slowdown
  2. Commodity collapse
  3. Resource sector credit crisis
  4. Dominoes begin to fall
  5. Credit markets roll over
  6. Interest rate shock
  7. Bull market 3rd longest on record
  8. Overvalued US market.

williamkoenig-web[1]That article by John Ficenec featured prominently in Monday’s Koenig World Watch Daily. On Friday, William issued the first in-depth analysis of the Shemitah year situation for subscribers to his weekly report, Koenig’s Eye View from the White House.

[Soon after launching this blog I introduced his long investigation of economic cycles and the work of leading financial analyst Eric Hadik in my 2011/12 and Biblical Historical/Financial Cycles. It was in the same month in which Jonathan Cahn’s The Harbinger was published.]

In the latest Eye View, William takes a different tack and introduces this new study as follows.

“While reviewing Jonathan Cahn’s ‘The Mystery of the Shemittah’, I felt led to place his revealing and extremely interesting work into the context of what we focus on most weeks and the events and catastrophes detailed in “Eye to Eye—Facing the Consequences of Dividing Israel”.

“When my study got close to being 20 pages long, I decided to divide the work into two parts over the next two weeks. This is the type of work where the more you research, the more the Lord reveals (Yes indeed! Emphasis RB). Next week’s part will go into fascinating detail about what took place in each Shemittah year from 1973 to the present.

“The following comprehensive study points to an amazing connection of the land of Israel to the events that have happened at the times of the Shemittah—the last year of a sabbatical seven-year period—and what took place in the last year of the 50-year Jubilee (7 x 7-year periods equaling 49 years, with the final Jubilee year bringing the total to 50)….”

He continues by covering the following points in detail.:

  • post 9/11 US financial situation
  • Obama’s dubious deal with Iran
  • Collision course with the God of Israel
  • Shemitah pattern: 1973 to present
  • Potential triggers and catalysts
  • Unprecedented pivotal events in Sept 2015
  • Jubilee years and Jerusalem (1917 & 1967).

Lots more is promised for this weekend, so maybe you’d consider subscribing too?

JCahn_BSalus_safe_imageA week ago tonight Messianic rabbi Jonathan Cahn was the guest speaker at a specially convened service at Church of His Presence. The guest for last Sunday’s service was his friend Bill Salus, author on Bible End-times prophecies.

I recommend both archived services to readers of this blog. First, however, you may like a brief outline:

Jonathan Cahn

Renowned for his ‘factioHarbingernal’ novel The Harbinger, which is based upon Isaiah 9:10, Jonathan updated everyone on events since its publication and my report of last year, all of which strengthens the validity of his theories. Anyone unfamiliar with his thesis will find his recent message a helpful summary, and learn its inception as well as dissemination was of the Lord.

Regarding the Shemitah, Jonathan gives a caveat about being dogmatic on what may or may not happen because, “When you put God in a box He has a habit of getting out!”  God doesn’t have to do anything we think or want, but He could bring about what may be expected at the end of the Shemitah year 5775 on Ehud 29, the last day in the Jewish civil year and eve of Rosh Hashanah (13th September).

Although the most dramatic effects would be at and around the close of this Shemitah year there were fore-shadowings at the beginning of the year. So Jonathan recounted significant events of September/October 2014 and noted the news about plague and an earthquake in the USA on this year’s opening day, as well as an economic shaking and loss of America’s crown to Russia – plus two Biblical signs relating to famine!

“The Shemitah causes the worldly realm to fall and to lift up the sovereignty of God in all things…the changing of world history…

“You want to live in Biblical times – you’ve got it! Welcome to the End-times…”

His focus then moved to America’s double desecration of God’s covenants in Genesis – those of matrimony and of the rainbow. Thus, he declares, “The writing is on the wall” in respect of national defiance against God and rejecting His grace and mercy. In addition to quoting from Daniel, Jonathan refers to the vision in Ezekiel 8 of the abominations in the Temple and relates those desecrations – and the timing of the nuclear deal with Iran (as blogged herein) – to Biblical events on the current Jewish calendar.

Therefore, he is of the opinion a great economic shaking is coming to America and to the world – and it may involve other realms too.

Jonathan covers a lot of exceptionally informative material in 96 minutes. He inspires us with the fact that the potential for national revival is greatest in the midst of judgmental shakings. Thus, we’re encouraged to become consecrated vessels as well as radical disciples. He closes with the very powerful Aaronic blessing in Hebrew.

Bill Salus

BSalus_lopb1vo_1Bill spoke on preparing for the coming fulfillment of prophecies and opened by pointing out,

“The number one sign of the End-times is: they’re all converging!”

In asking where are we on God’s timeline, Bill gave a good introduction to prophecies applicable today, especially Ezekiel 38, Psalm 83 and Jeremiah 49.

Bill’s analysis of events in the Middle-East included many helpful illustrations, especially with regards to Syria, Isil and Iran which, he says, is in double jeopardy because God is furious over their activity. In expanding upon this, he spoke knowledgeably about the rapidly rising number of Christians in Iran.

I was particularly interested in his explanation of the USA’s connection with events through Ezekiel 38:13 – the merchants of Tarsish and its young lions, as meaning Britain and our colonial lands. In all my reading I haven’t read anything else on this in 30 years other than in the very first ‘non-Christian’ book I read on Bible prophecy – The Invisible Hand! (See Welcome and ‘Personal Connection’ in Prophetic, Historic Days Part 1.)

“He who receives you receives Me, and he who receives Me receives Him who sent Me. He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophet’s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous man’s reward. And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.” (Matthew 10:40-42 NKJV courtesy BlueLetterBible.com)

ALERT: MP threatens Christian teachers with anti-terror laws

Houses of Parliament: courtesy FreeDigitalPhotos.netIn 2009 the previous director of MI5, Dame Stella Rimington, warned that “Britain is sleepwalking into a police state”.

This fact was one of several to which I referred in my first email alerting church leaders upon biblical End-times: The Endgame is now in play. (Upon checking that material I notice the news report no longer has that phrase, either as a ‘strap-line’ or quotation! But readers’ letters clearly refer to the remark, as here.)

Today’s news features a Member of Parliament threatening the suppression of Godly free-speech in the teaching profession! This MP thinks that new Extremism Disruption Orders “would apply to a situation where a teacher was specifically teaching that gay marriage is wrong.”!

John Bingham reports,

‘Mark Spencer called for those who use their position in the classroom to teach traditionalist views on marriage to be subject to “Extremism Disruption Orders” (EDOs), tough new restrictions planned by David Cameron and Theresa May to curb radicalisation by jihadists.

In a letter to a constituent, Mr Spencer, the MP for Sherwood in Nottinghamshire, insisted that Christian teachers were still “perfectly entitled” to express their views on same-sex marriage – but only “in some situations”.

I strongly recommend my readers carefully consider this development, which is more fully outlined in Archbishop Cranmer’s blog, Anti-Terror Legislation Will Be Used Against Teachers Who Oppose Same-Sex Marriage, of which I quote only a part and with emphases added:

Obeying the law is no longer to be a guarantee of freedom from government surveillance or police harassment.

‘And now Conservative MP Mark Spencer has written to a constituent:

“I believe that everybody in society has a right to free speech and to express their views without fear of persecution. The EDOs will not serve to limit but rather to guarantee it:…(eg) one which lots of constituents have been writing about – talking about gay marriage in schools.

“The new legislation specifically targets hate speech, so teachers will still be free to express their understanding of the term ‘marriage’, and their moral opposition to its use in some situations without breaking the new laws. The EDOs, in this case, would apply to a situation where a teacher was specifically teaching that gay marriage is wrong.”

If that is the understanding on the backbenches of the provisions of the Extremism Bill, we should be fearful – very fearful – of the Government’s intentions. John Bingham’s Telegraph piece quotes Simon Calvert, Deputy Director of the Christian Institute, who says:

“I am genuinely shocked that we have an MP supporting the idea of teachers being branded extremists for teaching that marriage is between a man and a woman. This is exactly the kind of thing we’ve been warning about. The Government says we’ve got nothing to worry about from their new extremism laws, but here is one of its own MPs writing to a constituent saying EDOs would stop teachers teaching mainstream Christian beliefs. EDOs will be a gross infringement of free speech and undermine the very British values they claim to protect.”

‘And Keith Porteous Wood, Executive Director of the National Secular Society:

“If EDOs really could be used to prevent teachers from talking about same-sex marriage, unless they are inciting violence, they are an even greater threat to freedom of expression than I had feared. To suggest that EDOs guarantee freedom of expression (as Mark Spencer suggests) is not just inaccurate, it is the opposite of the truth; they are the largest threat to freedom of expression I have ever seen in Britain.”

The Christian Institute added to this under ‘New Orthodoxy’ by referring to Claire Fox, head of think-tank the Institute of Ideas, who last week ‘accused the Government of using extremism rhetoric to impose a new orthodoxy of thinking.

‘She said: “When you break it down you then see that they’re actually betraying the civil liberties, the rule of law, they’re actually dictating what teachers teach in schools.

“When they say ‘we want to prevent extremism getting out in schools’ it’s so ironic” because “the kind of schools that have been done over are Catholic schools because of, for example, their views on homosexuality”.

‘Fox concluded, “Apparently a British value now is a positive acceptance of what the Government has told you it is”.’

Let us be prepared to stand on the Rock…

Parliamentarians plead for global freedom of religion and belief

As ever Gillan Scott, deputy editor of Cranmer provides an excellent post on extremely detailed material and which I’ve copied in full from Archbishop Cranmer.  However, I do have very strong reservations over the authority accorded to the BBC by Lord Alton’s quotation.

Factual evidence of the BBC’s gross ignorance on religion and deliberately political slant on the Middle-east is all too readily available: eg. its pure pig-ignorance in an appallingly arrogant and clueless rebuke made last week to an Israeli minister, “But you’re not under threat by Iran”! AND they censored Iranian leader’s remark on supporting terror!! (Details and petition to BBC available at Honest Reporting; in-depth analysis of BBC coverage of Iran at BBC Watch.)

Perhaps BBC should be changed to BCC – British ‘Cloud Cuckoo-land’ ?

Credit for photo of Asia Bibi belongs to British Pakistani Christians, from whence Wilson Chowdry emails today that she’s, “…been granted leave to appeal her death sentence by the Supreme Court of Pakistan. There is still some serious legal process to follow before she can be acquitted, but this action is a serious step in the. right direction. Asia is in a much more hopeful position now but the process will be long and drawn out. Please continue to pray for her. By accepting her appeal the Court has inferred that there is a possibility for grounds for Asia being exonerated.” (In full with petition here.)

Gillan’s post reads as follows (click title for link):

House-Lords-Freedom-Religion

HOUSE OF LORDS PLEADS FOR THE FREEDOM OF RELIGION AND BELIEF

With a Conservative majority government in place for the next five years we won’t need to worry about any potential reforms to House of Lords for the time being. And perhaps that is a good thing. When considering the role of the UK government in promoting freedom of religion, it is doubtful that an elected Upper House would have brought us the same level of passion and knowledge as peers did when the subject was debated last week. It came as a response to Lord Alton’s motion: ‘That this House takes note of worldwide violations of Article 18 of the 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the case for greater priority to be given by the United Kingdom and the international community to upholding freedom of religion and belief.’

AsiiaIt goes without saying that human rights abuses relating to religious persecution are widespread throughout the world and on the increase. Even today, Asia Bibi, who has been beaten and raped during her six years on death row in Pakistan, will have one last opportunity to plead for her life to be spared (updated above). Her crime, as a Christian, was drinking water from the same bowl as her Muslim co-workers. During the ensuing argument she was accused of blasphemy against the prophet Mohammad, which led to her arrest and conviction. There is an overwhelming need for governments across the free and democratic world to take a stand and defend the basic human right that Eleanor Roosevelt, chair of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights drafting committee, described as one of the four essential freedoms of mankind.

The Lords’ debate has been helpfully summarised by Frank Cranmer at the ever informative ‘Law and Religion’ blog, but several utterances deserve further attention. Lord Alton argued that in order for governments to reclaim their patrimony of Article 18, it would need greater political and diplomatic priority, and the importance of religious literacy as a competence could not be neglected. He went on to quote the BBC’s chief international correspondent, Lyse Doucet, who said: “If you don’t understand religion — including the abuse of religion — it’s becoming ever harder to understand our world.” He then drew attention to the paucity of interest in the matter at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO), with only one full-time desk officer dedicated to freedom of religion or belief.

Rabbi Lord Sacks described religious freedom as “perhaps the single greatest humanitarian issue of our time”. He was keen, though, to avoid rhetoric, preferring instead to look for pragmatic answers to avoid Article 18 being seen as little more than “a utopian ideal”. He proposed that the world needs:

“Under the auspices of the United Nations, a global gathering of religious leaders and thinkers to formulate an agreed set of principles that are sustainable theologically within their respective faiths and on which member nations can be called to account… We have not yet done the theological work for a global society in the information age, and not all religions in the world are yet fully part of that conversation. But if we neglect the theology, all else will fail… We must stand together – the people of all faiths and of none – for we are all at risk… Religious freedom is about our common humanity, and we must fight for it if we are not to lose it.”

The Archbishop of Canterbury was also keen to look for solutions:

“Religious freedom is threatened on a global scale, as we have heard, but also in a very complex way. Attacks on religious freedom are often linked to economic circumstances, to sociology, to history and to many other factors. Practically, if we are to defend religious liberty, we have to draw in these other factors. For example, if we want to defend religious freedom around the world – and again I say, the freedom to have no religion – do not sell guns to people who oppress religious freedom; do not launder their money; restrict trade with them; confine the way in which we deal with them; and, above, all, speak frankly and openly, naming them for what they are.”

After two and a half hours of speeches the motion was passed. Such a debate was significant in proving that Parliament has this issue on its mind and is making some positive noises. But without more substantive action from government, it will all count for very little. In their 2015 General Election manifestos, both Labour and the Liberal Democrats proposed the creation of a Global Ambassador for Religious Freedom to work within the FCO. It seemed a sensible proposal, but would that be the best way of ensuring that HM Government does not duck its responsibilities on the issue?

The newly created Centre on Religion and Global Affairs – a research and policy centre based in London, Beirut and Accra – has responded to the Lords’ debate. It believes that a special envoy that exclusively focuses on freedom of religious belief is not the way forward. Their view is that in other countries such appointments have yielded limited results. Instead, they propose the appointment a full-time Special Advisor to the government on Religion and Global Affairs. The advisor would be given a mandate to provide proactive policy proposals across Whitehall departments, in particular the FCO, Department for International Development, Home Office and the Prime Minister’s Office. Only a coordinated response across government departments will enable the UK to achieve the necessary understanding and enable a coherent and effective response to the issues. The role should not be seen as an interfaith outreach initiative, or a symbolic office for public diplomacy.

Alongside this Special Advisor, a group of external experts would be needed to provide additional support. A global portfolio in one of the most complicated topics in today’s world is not possible without adequate professional support. Given budgetary constraints, the role of the Special Advisor could be facilitated by the appointment of voluntary external experts with the requisite professional, academic and geo-political experience.

It is also important that any such position would be sufficiently funded if it is to be more than a symbolic gesture. Strategic research, diplomacy and local projects with stakeholders would need to be pursued with conviction and credible resources if any significant impact is to be made.

There is every reason to believe that the UK can contribute significantly to international moves to uphold freedom of religion – if it so chooses. During the Lords’ debate, Baroness Anelay, Minister of State in the FCO, admitted that although the Government is working with human rights and faith-based organisations across the world to promote dialogue, foster links and strengthen understanding, it is not doing enough.

As His Grace discussed yesterday, the Government needs to get a much better grip on its understanding of religion and religious freedoms. Religious persecution is a destructive cancer working its evil across the globe. How many more travesties of justice – such as that of Asia Bibi – do we have to endure before the British Government hears the appeal of those in the House of Lords (and elsewhere) that we must act as Justin Welby has prescribed: “..do not sell guns to people who oppress religious freedom; do not launder their money; restrict trade with them; confine the way in which we deal with them; and, above, all, speak frankly and openly, naming them for what they are.” Amen.

Political common-sense emerges on Islamist threat

The Times front-page headline on a major speech Prime Minister Cameron is making today:

The Times Monday 20 July 2015

(Click image to enlarge – their young award-winning journalist continues on page 4 as follows) “…loss of British citizens in a terrorist attack, happened before the Iraq war.

“When they say that these are wronged Muslims getting revenge on western wrong- doing, lets remind them: from Kosovo to Somalia, countries like Britain have stepped in the save Muslim people from massacres. It’s groups like Isil, al-Qaeda and Boko Haram that are the ones murdering Muslims….etc.”  [Murdoch papers require subscription.]

For the latest with video read the Telegraph’s David Cameron speech: my five-year plan to tackle extremism – Live; or The Independent’s online report here.

The PM’s announcement is long overdue in view of nationwide reaction to last month’s appalling massacre of 30 British holidaymakers in Sousse, Tunisia (see Wikipedia), and the fact that Islamists declared war on the West a long time ago! He is delivering upon his statement in the House of Commons after Sousse for the UK to be “intolerant of intolerance”. (NB: Contemporaneous killings were committed in France and Kuwait too – see The West’s war against Jihadi terrorism is just beginning.)

In his citing events from the 1990s caused by maniacal Muslims, I’m sure Cameron is well aware it’s been periodically endemic since the foundation of their religion in the Dark Ages. An insight into a global satanic strategy covered that historic fact in depth a few months ago. There, we looked at the cause of the Medieval crusades as a reaction to Muslim violence – not vice versa! – and how warped thinking poisoned the Greek-based mind-sets of liberals.

In addition to those earlier facts I’d also refer the PM to the total estimated murders by Muslims since 9/11: over 26,400! (The Religion of Peace database.)  BUT this may be undercounted and need doubling, as determined by the BBC’s ‘thorough analysis’.

!cid_image002_jpg@01CDBDD2Two years ago I blogged about the PM’s comment “A war against al-Qaeda could last decades”, and considered it further in a subsequent post wherein I wrote:

Winston Churchill foresaw of the danger of militant Islam in 1899! His trenchant opinion, based upon personal military service in The Sudan, speaks with great insight and I quote only the portion pertinent to this post.::

“…Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome…”  [Read full extract in Wikipedia’s The River War.]

Notes:

  1. Churchill’s criticism spread wherever he found fault, including the British high command!
  2. I know many Muslims (eg. medical staff) who are a jewel in humanity and, therefore, totally unlike those deranged extremists.

Fundamental flaw in Western society – re. Greece-Europe crisis, Humanism

“What qualifies you to comment on such a technically complex politico-economic topic?” you may ask. You could well think a hunch or mere coincidences, as in the preamble, to be just mere conjecture or insubstantial supposition.

Question Answered by Prophetic Word

Detail from Eagle-eyed by John Mark Long: www.propheticartists.comMore than being an informed observer, I humbly submit a qualification additional to that of being a biblical student of history. Admittedly, it’s of an immaterial nature: a Holy Spirit gifting!  Six years ago Isabel Allum, the well-known teacher of prophecy, discerned it and thereby validated my decision 3 months earlier to write regularly because of an insight on the Bible (The ‘Endgame’ is now in play).

Forgive me for being so personal. It’s the first time of publicly sharing this, not to boast but to answer the above kind of question which readers’ may rightly entertain. In part, the prophetic insight Isabel brought us was as follows (with her emphases):

“…And I heard the Lord saying brother, you are a man of wisdom…He’s coming to release a new level of wisdom in you that far surpasses the wisdom of man and He’s going to make you a man of…

“And I heard the Lord say, an impartation like Daniel had is going to come into you and you will start understanding the ‘riddles’ of the Lord in a different way – the gift of interpretation itself as Daniel and Joseph had is going to come to you and God is going to open up your understanding to hear from heaven, not necessarily to understand the way men do but you will see; like Joseph said, interpreting dreams is God’s business not man’s business and dreams from the Lord cannot be interpreted through symbolism or analysis, only through revelation.

“And the Lord is going to give you the real thing and you will bring it and you will answer the questions of many. But I also heard the Lord saying He’s going to open up nations for you…”

Hence, my many references to sensing ‘God-incidents’ / ‘Invisible jigsaw’!

With that said, let’s turn our attention to the matter in hand:

A Niggling Notion

Kononia eNews_Breakup-of-EUAs stated in the preamble, this matter wouldn’t go away last week – it kept tapping within my spirit. Then along came inspiration in material hidden away ‘upstairs’. That post’s sandwich-style format applies here too: black text for first thoughts already drafted, as below; blue text relating to later ‘God-incidental’ finds; and black again for the conclusion, now expanded.

(Additionally, after writing both drafts yet another ‘confirmation’ came from the same source, but this time in a mailed letter!!)

Here are some brief thoughts on the financial collapse of Greece from a scriptural and spiritual perspective. In view of the direct historical relationship, this also applies to the pinnacle of Western civilisation in its supposedly advanced forms in Europe and North America.

The foundations of European and American civilisations are built upon ancient Greece, not on the later Roman Empire.  All our scholastic, intellectual, scientific, literary and political history and institutions are modeled upon those of the ancient Greeks’ patterns of thought. And most importantly, our free, democratic self-government is styled upon the example set by ancient Greece.

greek-democracy-symbol

Traditional and reformed churches so admired those ancient philosophers that theology got skewed away from the original, Hebraic foundations of our Christian faith.  Greek ideas of the human constitution as being composed only of body and soul omitted the third part which, according to a Hebraic understanding, is our personal human spirit.  We have a triune nature because we’re created in the Almighty’s image.

Hence, the importance of the discovery of notes from 2012 inserted into the preamble’s ‘taster’ on ‘Intellect or Revelation?’!!

The following quotations come from a paper I’d referred to during online discussion on Greek philosophy in December 2012 and ‘coincidentally’ found in our loft last week. It’s apposite to insert them in blue text (as explained above) into my remarks, between the drafted introduction and conclusion.

Humanism – Forerunner for Antichrist

As a consequence of the pre-reformation and reformed Church’s and the subsequent Enlightenment’s interest in ancient Greece, a subtle, misleading influence upon Western culture and religion developed through the introduction of humanism and its associated agnosticism and atheism.

Derek Prince was a fellow of King’s College Cambridge and a senior research student who specialised in the philosophy of Plato. Although highly qualified to comment upon the ancient Greeks and their subsequent influence, he had a life-changing encounter with the author of the Bible after being called up into military service in the Second World War. Derek was ‘born-again’ and became an very influential Christian teacher

Decades later, in 1993-4, he was given an insight into developments in USA and Israel and the conflict spanning both heaven and earth, as follows:

“The governments and the armies of this world, operating solely on the natural plane, have no understanding of the conflict and no power to deal with the satanic forces in the heavenlies. On the contrary, without realizing it, they themselves are manipulated and controlled by those forces. One essential requirement for victory is to identify the nature of the forces that are at work in any given situation.

“In recent months [in early 1990s] as I have been meditating on developments in the world—especially in the U.S.A. and Israel—and I believe that God has shown me the identity of the evil, deceptive power that Satan plans to use to consummate his purposes for the end of this age. It is HUMANISM.”

Derek had always thought humanism was “a comparatively harmless error” but upon consulting a dictionary he was taken aback by its definition, viz:

“…the denial of any power or moral value superior to that of humanity; the rejection of religion in favour of a belief in the advancement of humanity by its own efforts.

“I realized that humanism is not spiritually neutral. On the contrary, it is a deliberate denial and rejection of God’s power and authority. It is an anti-religious religion. For this reason, it can be—and often is—taught in educational systems, such as that of the USA, which prohibit the teaching of religion in its usual sense.” (Emphases added.)

In tracing this Greek concept back in time he noted its direct linkage in the dream image of Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar in chapter two of the Book of Daniel:

“I realised that it was Greece – more than any of the other empires – which, through its philosophy, reproduced itself in subsequent cultures“.

Beginning with their earliest philosopher they asserted that man is the highest authority in the universe and idolized the human mind, Derek writes,

“Aristotle’s concept of God was a perfect mind contemplating itself—because nothing less was worthy of its contemplation. Out of this the whole philosophy of rationalism has developed”.

With this idolatry came glorification of the male body and, “the Greeks also tended to downgrade the marriage relationship between a man and a woman, and to view a homosexual relationship between two men as being more “intellectually fulfilling”.

Derek continues by pointing out that theso-called ‘gods’ of Greece exhibited all the moral failings of humanitya complete absence, in fact, of any binding moral code. This left man free to be his own god, and to establish his own moral code. After all, no people can be expected to live above the level of its own gods“.

Spirit of Humanism’s Offensive

“In 1992 the spirit of humanism launched a major new offensive against both the USA and Israel. Almost simultaneously, a cloud of dense spiritual darkness descended upon both nations.

“In their national elections that year the spiritual force that brought to power both the Clinton administration in the USA and the Labor Coalition in Israel was blatant, undiluted humanism. Both administrations represent an open and deliberate rejection of God’s righteous laws and of the covenants He made with man, first through Moses and then through Jesus Christ. They have demonstrated that, carried to its ultimate, humanism will believe anything  but the truth and will tolerate anything but righteousness.

“This exaltation of man is the force which will finally give rise to the Antichrist, whose name is the number of man (Rev. 13:18), the man of lawlessness, who opposes and exalts himself above everything that is called God or is worshiped, and even sets himself up in God’s temple, proclaiming himself to be God (2 Thess 2:3–4).

With this he heads into a magnificent conclusion:

“Before this final period of tribulation, however, God still has tremendous purposes to work out for both Israel and the Church. A harvest of mercy will precede the harvest of judgment. God’s preparation for this is revealed in Zechariah 9:13: “I will raise up your sons, O Zion, against your sons, O Greece…”  The “sons of Greece” are those who embrace the deception of humanism. The “sons of Zion” are those who take their stand upon the infallible Word of God, embracing both its promises and its covenants.”

It’s fascinating to dig this paper out of old folders for insertion herein only to find Derek’s conclusion is the same as that which was already in my mind!  But a republished letter on its way to me from his ministry has him adding an incisive scripture. More soon…

The Current Crisis

Several times the elected leaders of Greece have rejected legitimate demands for debt repayment by the nation’s European and IMF creditors. There’s been a massive run on the banks and the nation is completely bankrupt.

Telegraph Business front page today refers to a leaked IMF report saying “Greece will need drastic debt forgiveness” and warns that “Europe’s leaders must contemplate breaking EU treaty law to provide “Deep up-front haircuts” on Greece’s debt mountain”.

In IMF stuns Europe with call for massive debt relief, the leading financial journalist Ambrose Evans-Pritchard writes about the revolutionary nature of this report,

‘The International Monetary Fund has set off a political earthquake in Europe, warning that Greece may need a full moratorium on debt payments for 30 years and perhaps even long-term subsidies to claw its way out of depression.

“The dramatic deterioration in debt sustainability points to the need for debt relief on a scale that would need to go well beyond what has been under consideration to date,” said the IMF in a confidential report…

‘The findings are explosive. The document amounts to a warning that the IMF will not take part in any EMU-led rescue package for Greece unless Germany and the EMU creditor powers finally agree to sweeping debt relief…’

All this is especially interesting with 2014-2016 being Shemitah and Jubilee years, when ancient Israel cancelled all debts (see Wikipedia).

In tandem with financial turmoil, we’re also witnessing widespread rebellion in Europe and America against the moral and spiritual standards ordained by the Almighty. Those who once set the motto ‘In God We Trust’ (which is treated like a mascot!) have leaders who allow His commands to be treated with greatest contempt!  That nation born out of Europe proudly claimed ‘exceptionalism’, when in fact it’s no longer exceptional but apostate!

And the state named after its warrior leader and first president, George Washington, has been experiencing unusual temperatures consistently over 100 degrees Fahrenheit!

To my mind, these combined events speak strongly about the state of our ‘evolved’ Western society and civilisation – its beginning and its end.

Hopefully, it’s a warning that both ends of Euro-American civilisation are bankrupt – one the ancient historic root, the other its modern descendants –  one financially, the other morally and spiritually, with all the attendant consequences!!

Now it just so happens a couple of letters to one of the first churches planted in Europe are very instructive on this matter:

Apostasy and Deception

The Book of Acts records that, whilst on a mission in Asia Minor, the apostle Paul was supernaturally called to visit Macedonia over in mainland Europe (Acts 16). In about 49 AD he arrived in the port of Philippi in northern Greece and planted a house church led by a business woman known as Lydia. From there he and his companion Silas went south to Salonika (Thessalonica), found the Jewish synagogue and preached there. A thriving church of devout Greeks and some Jews was established, but they helped Paul to escape from his violent opponents. Within a couple of years he wrote from Corinth two concise letters to those new believers to clarify points arising from his teaching.

One of those themes was upon the expected return of the Lord Jesus Christ and Paul’s second letter clarified the brief reference made in the first, as follows.

Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God. [2 Thessalonians 2 NKJV per BibleGateway.com – Emphasis RB]

He proceeds at length to explain that the ‘mystery of lawlessness’ is already at work, but that someone who will be the very personification of evil will be revealed and come onto the world stage. Then the Lord will come from heaven and destroy him by the glory of His physical return to earth (2Thess 2:8)

Today – now – we’re well into that first stage, the ‘falling away’ from true faith in Jesus Christ, and which is also known as the ‘Great Apostasy’, as is so abundantly evident across the once-Christian Western world. (Eg. recent video clip on John Kilpatrick vision: ‘The United Apostates of America’.)  Paul proceeds,

The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

This means that those who fall away from the fullness of faith as originally taught by the Apostles will become so unrighteous in God’s sight that they will be wide open to being deceived by Satan and his agents. They bring a distortion and twisting of the Gospel to accommodate people’s preferences and desires instead of obeying God’s commands.

It is clear this deception is the consequential result of not loving the truth, who is the very Word of God in the person of Jesus Christ, and thus not desiring Him and the salvation He bought them by dying in their stead on the cross.

The next verse is extremely ominous. Paul explains that, because their attitude remains deliberately ungodly, the Almighty is not only allowing them to be strongly deceived but is sending an irresistible delusion, the consequences of which will condemn them:

And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 12 that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

By way of a careful caveat we need to note that a number of believers too readily quote verse 9 about some people through whom miracles, signs and wonders are displayed. As in my recent post on the accuser of the brethren attacking prophecies such self-appointed inquisitors claim all such demonstrations are deception. But upon reading and understanding the chapter in its entirety (as here) we find their claims to be rather judgemental.

Verse 12 gives the game away! Only those who despise the truth of the Gospel will be misled and suffer the consequences. Only a few years later Paul gave a full exposition on God’s wrath on unrighteousness in the early verses of his letter to the church in Rome – see Romans 1:18-32. (This too was written in Corinth, Greece.)

Conclusion

In my humble opinion this momentous economic crisis in the nation and continent which are the very roots of western civilisation is highly significant. It is not only a warning of economic but also of spiritual shaking.

Our leaders and fellow citizens who have chosen to rebel against the Holy One of Israel and His only begotten Son Jesus Christ, are now being warned of the consequences.

Soon there will no longer be any grace covering and blessing for reprobate, unrepentant hearts. Once they’re following the deceiver in his various guises, the Holy One Himself will let them stay deluded by their own lies and salvation will no longer be available!  A truly terrible personal place!

In all these musings it is significant, therefore, to re-discover the above quoted paper by Derek Prince. Equally amazing is the fact that as I was drafting both posts last week, a copy of his teaching letter Taking God Seriously was on its way in the post from his ministry!

This letter opens,

…If a person speaks to us, but we ignore — or even reject — much of what he says to us, we certainly are not taking him seriously. In fact, we are guilty of disrespect.

The same applies to God. If we ignore or reject much of what He says to us through the scriptures, we are not taking Him seriously. We are, in fact, treating Him with disrespect.

Yet this is how many Christians are relating to God. They treat His Word like a smorgasbord, picking out those portions that appeal to their taste and passing the others by.

Also, it concludes in the same vein as my preceding thesis by focussing upon the above verses 2 Thessalonians 2:9-10.

If we consider chapter two of the second letter to ‘Salonika’ in a reverse sequence, like reading an email thread, it helps me to gain a clear understanding of what the Lord is allowing and why – and then what will happen. I submit to you, this may bring a different focus from a usual reading and helps us to see things from the Lord’s perspective.

Undoubtedly, we’re now in ‘The Great Apostasy’ and Paul’s letter to the early church in Greece tells us what’s happening, what’s coming and why – and what the end will be!

May the Lord bless you and keep you…

NB: see Addendum of prophetic words brought in April 2010 relating to this subject.

The Accuser attacks politically-related prophecies

Victoria Tower, Houses of Parliament, LondonMulling over the previous post and the content of  Gillan Scott’s report from Westminster I note how it’s directly related to two prophetic words.

Of all the words I’ve been privileged to publish, it was only those two which brought an antagonistic response – from readers professing to be fellow Christians!!

In acting on behalf of the accuser of the brethren they actually gave the Adversary’s game away, thereby confirming those words’ true origin in the Lord – and as a consequence, their accuracy!

Of course, both used scripture to prove his opinion as absolutely correct and the prophetic word false. “Hypocrites”, as Jesus says, would be better to remove ‘planks’ from their eyes first before taking critical offence! (Matthew 7:1-5 refers.)

Therefore, Gillan’s report in my last post deserves further consideration in the light of the following prophetic words (emphases added):

  1. ‘The previous Friday’s prayer time at (Fflad-y-Brenin)…got overshadowed by the Lord, who reminded them of the raising of Lazarus. They were told He’s going to call the Anglican Church out of its grave and bring it back to life!’  (May 2014: Resurrection coming to Anglican Church and see associated comments.)
  2. “If you will stand up now and be the voice to the nations…if now there will be a coalescingthis is the season where I am giving you a loud voice, Body of Christ, and if you will speak now I will amplify that voice and it is going to begin to tip the nation. If you miss your window you will not have the effect. Do not relax…this is not a time to relax this is a time to press in. Go and see your MPs, make appointments. This is the season where you are to speak and be that loud voice, and if you will do that…I am going to give this window of awakening; that the power of God is going to rush into the UK, not just England; the power of God is visiting the whole of the UK.” (May 2015: Cindy Jacobs:the election and word from the Lord.)

In the first, the reply to my response demonstrated the complainant was unable to grasp anything other than plain black and white. So I left it published for a while rather than censor it but, as its arrogant hostility was a blot on the blog, its existence ceased.

The second came almost immediately from a regular contributor to various blogs. After opening with Jesus’ warning about false prophets he included a video clip about Cindy Jacobs and superciliously suggested I should check her out. I let it stand and intended responding after the weekend, but during the Sunday’s service (Pentecost) I had a clear word from the Lord to delete it because, “It’s of a contrary spirit”.

Initially, my reaction was, “This American doesn’t know what’s happening here and isn’t qualified to comment”.  (I’d blog about false prophecy, had I the time.)

Only a few weeks earlier I’d heard Dr Sharon Stone say, “The religious spirit hates the prophetic”, and so I noted both complaints as good examples of that insight. Anyway, Cindy is well-known to both Sharon and our mutual friend Michael who’d transcribed the word she brought. Furthermore, several readers of this blog firmly attested to that word sitting well with their spirit and being very appropriate!  And it confirmed what a couple of leaders had already heard – read Heidi Baker, Cindy Jacobs: prophetic messages verified and applied.

Therefore, let’s consider afresh the message brought to those politically active Christian groups in Westminster, as reported by Gillan Scott:

“The main talk was from Kris Vallotton, Senior Associate Pastor at Bethel Church in Redding, California. He talked about children when they play wanting to be superheroes or great sports people, or kings and princesses. They see themselves as capable of greatness; of doing amazing things. But as we grow up we lose that ability to see ourselves as being special and significant. The burdens of life cause most of us to settle for a mundane existence. Even for Christians who believe they are God’s children, it is too easy to carry on as if it makes little difference, failing to acknowledge the nature of that inheritance. In the book of Galatians, St Paul says this:

“God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship. Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.” So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child; and since you are his child, God has made you also an heir.

“Formerly, when you did not know God, you were slaves to those who by nature are not gods. But now that you know God – or rather are known by God – how is it that you are turning back to those weak and miserable forces? Do you wish to be enslaved by them all over again? (Gal 4:4-9)

“Paul calls Christians ‘sons’ not to dismiss women, but because the son as heir would receive everything in inheritance from his father. In this case it is from our loving Abba Father/Daddy. Through Jesus, God gives us all that is in Him through the Holy Spirit. We become imitators of Christ not through striving and hard work, but because God has chosen us by means of adoption. Through sanctification he makes us Christ-like and Christ is fully God.

“The Bible does not describe Christians simply as priests, commanded to act as servants, but royal priests; that is, kings who have received God’s power and authority. God calls us to share the ministry of Jesus and gives us all that we need to do just that.”

Gillan continues with his personal reaction, as noted previously, with emphasis added in view of those – and other – prophetic words:

I saw more hope and expectation during that service in Westminster than I do in many churches. God gives each one of us a calling and offers us a vision, but instead of responding with a big Yes, too often we come back with a whole set of noes. Instead of seeing Jesus as he is and us as God intends us to be, we settle for an inferior version. When this happens the natural tendency is to stop looking out, seeing ourselves as lights shining into the darkness, and instead shining that light at each other, finding faults and obsessing over differences and secondary issues. We get caught up in fretting over problems rather than fixing our eyes on God’s bigger picture.

“All is not lost for the Church though. Even the Church of England for all of its failings is getting some things right. Yesterday two new Bishops were announced…”

Also, we should recall that he’d preceded that by stating,

“This was a celebration of God’s direct involvement in the political realm. It was not a stuffy, dry, get-together for a bunch of people who are desperately trying to preserve a common interest. Instead, there was a sense that these were people confident that God could use them as missionaries and witnesses to bring light into their workplaces and beyond, sharing in the work of God who has a big plan for this world.”

Moreover, he’d already noted, “Christians in Politics are excited about the increasing interest in political involvement in our churches that they are witnessing. And Christians in Government, which is made up mostly of civil servants, reported that God is doing some wonderful things through their members within their departments.”

In conclusion Gillan gives examples of how the CoE is “getting some things right’ as in backgrounds of the two bishops designate present at the meeting:

“In their respective places they are seeing the world through God’s eyes and responding accordingly. They have not been afraid to step out in faith because they are holding on to God’s promises. When we see Jesus fully in us then we need not have any fear of what he asks – God can do great things through each one of us. When Jesus said, ‘What is impossible with man is possible with God,’ he absolutely meant it.

Therefore, Gillan’s blog offers further indications the Lord is definitely active in Britain, and He’s aligning believers with not only His written word but also with those recently delivered through prophetical voices.

Thanks and praise be to our God.

Gillan Scott: “A celebration of God’s direct involvement in the political realm”!

Christians in Parliament Prayer Meeting – Gillan Scott courtesy Archbishop Cranmer.

A week ago this evening, on Wednesday 1st July at The Emmanuel Centre in Marsham Street, Westminster, Christians in Parliament with Christians in Politics and Christians in Government met together for their annual service of prayer and worship.

After having asked, Is God behind the stunning election results? and then noting Brief bullet points on the Lord’s action in Britain, it’s now encouraging to read my fellow blogger Gillan Scott’s report on last Wednesday’s event – and to learn that its principal speaker was from Bethel Church, which was established by Bill Johnson in Redding, California.

[Note: It was in a Revival Alliance meeting at that London church when Bill unusually made a prophetic statement: “We would look back at 1st September 2011 as the day things changed in the UK” – see four entries under ‘Sep 2011’ in this blog’s Library.]

I’ve been privileged to re-post many stimulating articles from Gillan’s blog ‘God and Politics UK’, which merged last September with ‘Archbishop Cranmer’, as announced here, and Gillan became deputy editor. In Christians in Parliament demonstrate what doing God really means he now writes,

Gillan Scot“…It’s always good to be invited to meet in fellowship with other Christians away from my own Church and this was no exception. Seeing the auditorium filled with hundreds of people involved in government at various levels was genuinely both heartening and encouraging. Gary Streeter MP was pleased to announce that many new MPs have joined Christians in Parliament (mostly Conservatives, I discovered). Christians in Politics are excited about the increasing interest in political involvement in our churches that they are witnessing. And Christians in Government which is made up mostly of civil servants reported that God is doing some wonderful things through their members within their departments.

“This was a celebration of God’s direct involvement in the political realm. It was not a stuffy, dry, get-together for a bunch of people who are desperately trying to preserve a common interest. Instead, there was a sense that these were people confident that God could use them as missionaries and witnesses to bring light into their workplaces and beyond, sharing in the work of God who has a big plan for this world…”

As ever, I cannot recommend Gillan’s work too highly and encourage you to read his report in full by clicking here, or on the preceding title of his post. In closing, here’s the opening of his summary:

“I saw more hope and expectation during that service in Westminster than I do in many churches. “All is not lost for the Church though. Even the Church of England for all of its failings is getting some things right…”

Thank you and bless you for this news my friend. As the prophet Isaiah proclaims (52:7):

How beautiful upon the mountains
Are the feet of him who brings good news,
Who proclaims peace,
Who brings glad tidings of good things,
Who proclaims salvation,
Who says to Zion,
“Your God reigns!”

What are the implications of the Supreme Court’s marriage decision? Four key things to consider.

NB: strong correlation between graph’s 2005-2015 ‘X’ (ie. error, wrong) and the rapid descent since 2009 in US’ credibility-influence and rise in contempt for America in the Middle-East & N Africa! (Washington, D.C.) — What are the implications of the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision on Friday to make same-sex marriage a Constitutionally-protected civil right? Is the Court’s decision to change the definition of marriage really such a big deal, or are Christians hyperventilating over the issue for nothing?

Unfortunately, yes, this is a very big deal, and it puts America on a perilous path. Unless we change course soon, this could accelerate the nation’s judgment andimplosion.

Let me walk through four key things Christians ought consider at this critical time.

First, the Supreme Court is overreaching its Constitutional authority, and is thus undermining its own legitimacy and pouring gasoline on a highly-politicized issue that will deeply divide Americans for years to come.

If the Constitution even mentioned the word “marriage,” the Court might theoretically have the right to address the subject. But the word is…

ALERT: suppression of free speech in UK and USA

Hand with News icon - WatcharakunTHREE emails await me this morning on this subject!

Does this indicate the suppression of freedom to think and speak for oneself, especially in proclaiming Biblical truths, is being ramped up?

Only on Monday had I had occasion too refer  to that when inserting a reference to Rev Dr Mike Ovey’s well-informed warning into the copy from Wilberforce Publications’ on Magna Carta Unravelled.

His concern is now repeated by the Coalition for Marriage. (C4M is an umbrella group of many individuals and organisations supporting traditional marriage and opposed to its redefinition. Click link for more details.)

In his email circular of Tuesday their campaign director Colin Hart writes,

NEW LAW COULD BRAND MARRIAGE SUPPORTERS AS ‘EXTREMISTS’!

Since the introduction of same-sex marriage we have drawn attention to ordinary people around the UK who have found their reputations and livelihoods attacked for standing by their beliefs.

Sadly the Government is about to make the situation much worse. The Home Secretary is seeking sweeping new powers to silence ‘extremists’ and disrupt their activities. We strongly support the Government’s fight against terrorism, but we don’t support plans which put basic free speech in jeopardy.

Vague laws will catch law-abiding people

The proposed Extremism Disruption Orders (EDOs) are set to be contained in the new counter-extremism Bill.

We back stopping jihadists, but these vague EDOs appear to be so broadly defined that even supporters of traditional marriage could be branded ‘extremists’. See our short briefing for more information.

Conservative MPs Dominic Grieve and David Davis have voiced alarm about the plans.

Before he became Justice Minister, Dominic Raab MP also said: “The public should certainly expect the security services to track terrorists online, but the broad powers of proposed Extremism Disruption Orders (EDO) could be abused. Those engaged in passionate debates – such as Christians objecting to gay marriage – could find themselves slapped down.”

Home Secretary Theresa May was recently challenged on just this point when the BBC’s John Humphrys asked her whether the “woolly” plans would still allow people to say that gay marriage was damaging to society. We’re not convinced by her answer.

Free speech under threat

People can call us bigots and extremists for believing in traditional marriage – that’s their point of view. But they must not be given power to use the force of law against us.

We have good reason to be concerned. We will be asking you to make your views known to your MP.

Yours sincerely,

Colin Hart

As an aside, look at what I learned a month ago:

THE LESSON OF TUDOR HISTORY

A series of high-profile cases in recent years, where Christians have been penalised for expressing and living out their beliefs in public discussion, led a top judge, Sir Michael Tugenhadt, to compare secularists to ‘Tudor tyrants’. He commented as follows,

Those who are hostile to belief in a superhuman being or to religious practices, I am afraid, sometimes exhibit an attitude to freedom of religion and freedom of speech which is as restrictive of that of Elizabeth I or Burghley.

They seek to limit those freedoms to the private sphere, but that is a denial of the rights that these freedoms enshrine.

“The terrible story of the Tudor-Stuart religious divisions should be a reminder that freedom which is confined entirely to the privacy of a person’s home is a form of oppression.” (Emphases added)

He added: “The fact that states recognise human rights and natural rights and even the fact that they may enshrine them in their laws doesn’t mean they always respect them”.

Sir Michael retired from the High Court last year and reminisced about the beginning of his professional career when, “Lawsuits involving religion were absolutely unknown”. In respect of the past 10 to 15 years, however, “they had become increasingly frequent”.

UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

US S_Court

The second email on this matter covers US Supreme Court’s rulings in America. In writing for The Legal Project, Johanna Markind outlines recent cases that potentially affect the right to discuss Islam openly and freely in The US Supreme Court, Speech Regulation and Islam.

The third email, Muting American Speech Through Politicised Television Theatre, was a brief note of RJ Dawson’s blog in which he lambasts TV broadcasters for brainwashing audiences into the fear of having or expressing an opinion, in contravention of the 1st Amendment.

His review of changes since the 60’s is informative for all who, in those days, were only twinkles in their mother’s (or grandmother’s) eyes. On this side of ‘the pond’, American TV was regarded as a very inferior product. RJ’s views make interesting reading and it’s noteworthy how our once, world-renowned but now Broadly Biased Corporation (BBC) has since descended to the moronic depths and spews out PC indoctrination.

So, RJ Dawson’s opinion is valid for Britain as well as the United States.

The ‘one-eyed god’ once resided in a box in the corner of the room but is now a window on a wall as well as a mirror on our knees, or even a spy in our pockets!  It should come with a mental and spiritual health warning. So beware!

How to counter it will be covered in the next post…

Review – Magna Carta: Law, Liberty, Legacy

D.C. Nesbitt’s excellent review of the Magna Carta exhibition takes my brief coverage full circle: from last-minute insertion on the charter to introduce observations and prophetical points on the general election results to this re-blog’s opening reference to David Cameron’s opinion in 2012. Also, I endorse the reader’s recommendation to watch David Starkey’s programme on iPlayer.

The Exhibitionologist's avatarthe Exhibitionologist

Whether or not David Cameron knew what he was letting himself in for when he appeared as a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2012 is anyone’s guess. As anyone who watched the interview or subsequently read about it will know, there was at least one topic of conversation that he was not expecting to come up. Letterman was keen to see if he embarrass his guest by quizzing him on the history the country he was Prime Minister of, and much to the delight of the audience, he succeeded. When asked what the Latin name of the most famous document in British history – the ‘Magna Carta’ – meant in English, Mr Cameron could not muster an answer. Probably better than his lousy guess at who composed ‘Rule Britannia’ (“Edward Elgar”), but enough for many people in Britain to let out a great sigh, or to mumble something mocking about his Eton…

Magna Carta Unravelled – a new book

Regarding the previous posts on the 8th centenary of Magna Carta, anyone interested in its relevance in the suppression of freedom today may like to know about a recent book, Magna Carta Unravelled.

Only this past fortnight we have an example of the importance of this matter. A former lawyer, now Principal of Oak Hill Theological College in London, has stated the PM’s proposals for new “Extremism Disruption Orders” could be a “disaster area” for people from all mainstream religions, and none. In some settings, traditional Christian teaching could effectively be made a criminal offence!

No doubt Rev Dr Mike Ovey’s previous parliamentary experience drafting anti-terrorism legislation relating to the IRA has given him solid grounds for his deep reservations on this issue. (See Telegraph religious affairs editor John Bingham’s latest – published on Magna Carta’s anniversary – and earlier posts.)

Magna Carta Unravelled

The ethos of Wilberforce Publications, is to put the spotlight on aspects of contemporary politics, society and culture in the light of Christian thinking and examine their impact on individuals and communities. Published jointly with Voice for Justice UK on the charter’s anniversary, this new book is available in paperback/e-book and is described as follows:

magna-carta-3dMagna Carta is not only one of the most celebrated documents in British history, but stands as a foundation of political and religious freedom throughout the world. Yet the liberties and freedoms fought for and heralded in Magna Carta are under severe attack as controversial issues of religious freedoms, human rights, equality legislation and freedom of speech present significant challenges for our society today.

In the year of its 800th anniversary ‘Magna Carta Unravelled’ traces the Christian origins and legacy of this great Charter of liberty, focusing on the current challenges to individual liberty examined by experts with unrivalled backgrounds in politics, academic philosophy, the law and the church.

‘Magna Carta Unravelled’ is an invaluable resource, offering penetrating insights from a variety of perspectives for those seeking a thoughtful approach to issues of freedom in our nation today.

In the opinion of HH Judge David Turner QC.,

“Magna Carta continues to compel Christian people to fearlessly explore what makes for human flourishing in a liberal democracy. Any wake-up call – such as this book – is rarely comfortable, occasionally inconvenient, always unsettling; but the issues discussed, of conscience, belief and freedom, refuse to be silenced.”

Another result of the Lord’s post-election action

Further to my recent brief bullet points, a Christian who was sacked for her views expressed in answering a question from a colleague (!!!!) has won a discrimination claim against her former employer. Christian Concern reports that:

‘Sarah Mbuyi (31) was fired from her job at a nursery in W London after having a conversation with a homosexual colleague in which she explained the biblical position on homosexuality and marriage. [Her colleague had initiated the conversation but became upset at what was said for the sake of her own best interests.]

‘In a brave judgment, the Watford Employment Tribunal chaired by Judge Broughton, found unanimously that Miss Mbuyi had been directly discriminated against because of her belief that homosexual practice is contrary to the Bible. The Tribunal recognised that while the employer was “not anti-Christian” Miss Mbuyi had not been treated fairly and that the decision to sack her may have been made on “stereotypical assumptions about her and her beliefs”.

‘Miss Mbuyi’s belief was described by the Tribunal as one which is “worthy of respect in a democratic society, is not incompatible with human dignity and is not in conflict with the fundamental rights of others” and that the employer’s policy that there was a “prohibition on employees expressing adverse views on homosexuality and/or describing homosexuality as a sin” would have a “disparate impact on Christians holding similar views to Miss Mbuyi on the biblical teachings on practising homosexuality. That is not merely because a significantly higher proportion of Christians would hold such views but also because many evangelical Christians feel their faith compels them to share it”.’

Intercessors note 70-year election significance too

Detail from Eagle-eyed by John Mark Long‘Twas just a hunch, but I went out on a limb after Ken Gott remarked, “Something of God happened in the election…” (as at #5 here). I asked him,

“Have you noticed the ‘coincidence’ of yesterday’s doubly historic events being related to a 70-year period? – possibly a Biblical one at that!”  This was news to him.

It seemed significant to me that such unexpected results, ones which will change our government, fall on exactly the same day as the celebration of Victory in Europe (8th May 1945). Me being me, I’d spotted they were 70 years apart! So in closing that blog, I surmised:

“Now, 70 years after victory over a common foe, could Britain at long last have an opportunity to move out of its ‘Babylonian captivity’ (as in The Babylonian aspect of the Church’s ‘New Era’)? The ancient Jews were held captive there for 70 years after the fall of Jerusalem before being allowed to return to their holy city.”

That post was published mid-afternoon and so I started winding down for our usual long weekend. But within the hour a comment arrived from ‘Father’s House of Prayer’ with astonishing confirmation of my hunch! I was most pleasantly shocked – ‘God-smacked’ in fact!

LH at ‘Father’s House’ also emailed me with what she’d been working on for a couple of days. Of course, she had no way of knowing what I’d been thinking three weeks earlier.

With her kind permission – and emphases mine – this is what LH wrote:

“Hi Richard, I’m not sure how to put this on comments, I started to, but there seems a lot so thought I would email. I started this 2 days ago and have just received Stunning Election Results from you. All I can say is I believe what you have written is spot on and have set out below what happened with us.

“On the morning of 7th May, ‘J-1’, ‘J-2’ and myself met early at ‘B’ to pray regarding the leaders and the election. Pastor was at conference but had text the night before to pray Jeremiah 29.7 [as below], something which I had been drawn to all week.

As we prayed it out ‘J-1’ was reminded of the promise to Daniel and the fact that it was significant that the election result would coincide with the 70 years celebration of VE Day – as we continued to pray in line with what was in Daniel.

20150506_182254277_iOS“Continuing, I ‘saw’ – was reminded of – the pictures of people praying outside Parliament the previous evening and immediately Father reminded me of the prophecy which had started me praying out the promises of revival for this nation. It was in a letter of July 1st 2009 from Kenneth Copeland and said,

2 Chronicles 7: 14 and 15

“It’s not going to happen until we do what we are called to do and O Lord

14 If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven forgive their sin and heal their land.

15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer offered in this place.

“This is the time that has been prophesied about, and at stake here is not only your welfare in the land, but also My move in the end times of a great awakening,” saith the Lord. “And it is that Awakening that will save this land and others like it. For it is the time of the coming of the Lord. And you will rise up, and you will be My Name and you will be My power. And I will manifest Myself through you, and many shall come and say, ‘Surely He is the God of all good’.” Hallelujah. Praise God. Whew! Whoa! Amen.

“Amen

“I hadn’t got this board [map and prophecies] out that morning, but I immediately ran for it and felt the Lord say this was done because we (the nation) very publicly the previous evening had done what we had been called to do and lined up with the very first part.

“What was particularly exciting when I read Cindy’s word was we (and I would imagine many others) had specifically prayed that the body of Christ would not back off in prayer once the election was over. We were also reminded of Smith’s 1947 and how important it was that it spread to Europe. [Dr Stone had also stressed this continuance in prayer. Wigglesworth’s vision may be read in latter part of this post.]

“Whilst away in Turkey, Father had been specifically speaking to me about governing in the spirit when seeking the welfare of the city […omitted]. That, just as Reece Howells’ people targeted specifics in the war, we were to do the same with those in authority.

“I hope this makes some sort of sense to you and really I just wanted to say thank you and I believed it tied in with what you have been posting, but I couldn’t really find a way of condensing it.”

Jeremiah 29:7 ….Seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.” 8 Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have. 9 They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them,” declares the Lord.

10 This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity.[b] I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.”

Daniel 9 In the first year of Darius son of Xerxes (a Mede by descent), who was made ruler over the Babylonian kingdom— 2 in the first year of his reign, I, Daniel, understood from the Scriptures, according to the word of the Lord given to Jeremiah the prophet, that the desolation of Jerusalem would last seventy years. 3 So I turned to the Lord God and pleaded with him in prayer and petition, in fasting, and in sackcloth and ashes.

Thank you so much my friend for confirmation that brings us all strong encouragement as well as great blessing…

UPDATE:

LH also informs me that Pastor Ray Kelly of Global Prayer Alert Network shared this from last Friday’s prayer summary about the above prophetic word (emphases added):

“I had this come to me. I love reading about men and women and what the Lord has done in their lives, like brother Hagin especially. I love to read and go over the prophecies that he declared. But I just felt the Spirit saying to me that those days are over and we’ve entered into new days, as we “turn the page.” These are not the old days, but these are the days that brother Hagin prophesied about. When he said “we are right on the verge of that glory”, these are the days that he was speaking about. Thank You, Father, for the flow of Your Spirit today. Thank You for enabling us to go out into the new, to pray it out and sing it out. We get it that these are new days. You’ve put Your Spirit within us, enabling us to press out ahead. These are glory days filled with Your presence enabling us to carry out Your plan and purpose.”

Brief bullet points on the Lord’s action in Britain

Houses of Parliament: courtesy FreeDigitalPhotos.netLast week I asked “Is God behind the General Election results?“. If you weren’t able to note my observations on why that may be so, the following will update and prepare you for the next post:

  • ‘A handful of prominent Christians…lost their seats, but this was more than compensated for by an influx of new Christians across the political spectrum… and Prime Minister David Cameron is back in power with a Cabinet full of Christian ministers.’  [‘His Grace’ Cranmer on LibDem leader Tim Fallon, as #3 here.]
  • Two Christian street preachers have been cleared of all charges after arrests in Basildon and Hereford.’ [Christian Concern report 27th May – praise the Lord.]
  • Intercessory group noted significance of 70-year period for Britain – see next post for details. [Item #6 of and conclusion to ‘Stunning General Election results’ refer.]

PS: legal-eagle’s opinion post-election

As ever, learned lawyer-cum-blogger Frank Cranmer offers stimulating opinion on the General Election and Christians in Law and Religion UK and in Archbishop Cranmer. NB: see correction from Frank in comments below.

For your enlightenment, here are opening/closing remarks to three of his latest blogs, to which I’ve added a few emphases.

Images are courtesy of his blog. Please click them for links to the full articles.:

1. A British Bill of Rights is wholly contingent upon Britain leaving the EU

Noteworthy how the Human Rights Act is now coming into focus in view of the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta (see previous post). His Grace Cranmer opens:

Bill-of-Rights

‘(Yesterday’s) Queen’s Speech is the first to be delivered on behalf of a majority Conservative government since 1996, when John Major was Prime Minister and ‘Europe’ was tearing his party asunder…..

[Closes:] ‘A British ‘Bill of Rights’ is supposed to embrace British values. These would include the foundational principle of the Common Law, which is antithetical to the EU Napoleonic model of law, Corpus Juris. It has been found by experience that Common Law is the bulwark against state tyranny and the best guarantor of our liberties.

‘So, as the Prime Minister and Lord Chancellor summon their commission of consultation, could they ensure that it includes those voices which may define what British values are or ought to be included in a British ‘Bill of Rights’? And, having done that, might they explain how this new British ‘Bill of Rights’ might justify Anglican Establishment in an age of moral relativism and religious equality? And, having done that, could they please clarify how the Bill might be consistent with the Prime Minister’s stated preference for remaining a full and participating member of the political institutions of the European Union?’

See also, Will plans for a British Bill of Rights be reduced to a Bill for England only?

2. The Christian Deception about Conservatives and Human Rights

Reference to foundational Magna Carta and its subsequent importance in English history is implicit. Cranmer opens:

Gove-More‘There is a lie permeating the Christian social-media detachment that the Conservative quest to repeal New Labour’s Human Rights Act amounts to an assault upon fundamental human rights; that somehow Tories are inherently opposed to limitations on the state and to the basic protections and assurances of justice and liberty which have been set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights – the ‘Human Rights Charter’ – which the UK helped to draft in the aftermath of World War II. No doubt the Church of England (or, rather, certain anti-Conservative bishops and clergy) will be vocal in their opposition to repeal, insisting (erroneously, not to say misleadingly) that the Government’s intention to replace the Human Rights Act 1998 with a British ‘Bill of Rights’ constitutes an immoral political degradation, if not a grave social evil.

‘Michael Gove is the new Justice Secretary and Lord Chancellor. The role is not quite as it was when Sir Thomas More kept the Great Seal with “like place, pre-eminence, jurisdiction, execution of laws, and all other customs, commodities, and advantages”. But like More, Gove is a lay churchman of great intellect and integrity with a profound understanding of theology, ecclesiology, social philosophy and jurisprudence…

[Closes:] ‘And those Christians who spread the lie that to oppose Labour’s Human Rights Act is to oppose the very notion of human rights need to consider the temporal repercussions of perpetuating grave injustice, as well as the eternal consequences of spreading such disinformation. Michael Gove may not be a man for all seasons, but he is the Queen’s good servant, if not God’s first.’

3. Tim Farron ‘clarifies’ his Christian convictions in pursuit of LibDem leadership

Cranmer opens (emphases added):

Tim-Farron‘There is no doubt that Christian representation in Parliament came out well in this General Election. A handful of prominent Christians including Simon Hughes, Douglas Alexander and Jim Murphy lost their seats, but this was more than compensated for by an influx of new Christians across the political spectrum. Ed Miliband failed to become this country’s first atheist Prime Minister and David Cameron is back in power with a Cabinet full of Christian ministers.

‘Now that we are moving into the traditional phase of post-election leadership contests, there is a very real chance that for both Labour and the LibDems their new leaders could well end up being Christians, too….

[Closes:] ‘The LibDems have traditionally had a sizeable Christian presence in Parliament, but also have a strong and vocal LGBT and pro-abortion contingent. Any leader of a party needs to hold the views of its members in tension, but Farron’s desire to reach the top would appear to be leading him to pander to certain groups. In his essay, he writes: “To be a Christian is to submit to ultimate truth, fairness and goodness – some of which will jar with our current state of socialisation.” Sometimes that means sticking up for certain values even if it makes you unpopular and draws criticism. For a Christian, submission to God should always come before submission to man.

‘There is a belief among many Christians that party politics and faith can never really mix. To have a party leader with a sound grasp of the gospel and who is fully committed to his or her faith – to the point of demonstrating it in the voting choices they make – would go a long way to disproving this view. Tim Farron has that chance and he carries the hopes of many Christians and non-Christians both within and outside of the Liberal Democrats. This could be an opportunity for him to forge ahead with a leadership built on personal integrity and strong moral conviction. He has many fine qualities that will serve him well should he win, but, as it stands – certainly on recent evidence – the indication is that when it comes to political ambition and Christian conviction, there is only one winner.’

It’s said that, when in power in the previous coalition, the LibDems pushed for same-sex marriage. So their loss of almost all MPs is poignant.

Conclusion

I trust this will enable us to gain a handle on what’s happening, especially in regard to the continuing need to pray for our leaders as Apostle Paul urged in 1Timothy 2:1-2.

Stunning General Election results – is God behind them?

Cloud over Windsor June 2011

Three weeks ago today citizens of the United Kingdom voted for their representatives as Members of Parliament. Overnight exit polls and the next day’s final results shocked most analysts and pundits.

MAGNA CARTA

In fact, such a change is highly appropriate for this 800th anniversary year of a far more revolutionary political act: King John’s agreement to affix his seal to the Magna Carta. The gathering of his barons in a Thames-side meadow at Runnymede, a few miles outside Windsor, to present the large petitionary document to the king, will be commemorated in a civic ceremony on the actual anniversary,15th June, at a memorial built by our American cousins.

The world famous Magna Carta or ‘Great Charter’ was a practical solution to the political and financial crisis facing the king in 1215, yet it laid the foundation of liberty – of individual freedom, parliamentary democracy and subjection not to royalty, but to the supremacy of law.

That is, it established for the first time the principle that everybody, including the king, was subject to the common law of the land. The British Library states that, although nearly a third of the text was deleted or substantially rewritten within ten years, and almost all its clauses have been repealed in modern times, Magna Carta still remains a cornerstone of the British constitution. I’d add that its great influence extends to the Commonwealth’s and to the United States of America’s legal systems.

Now let’s consider some apolitical observations and possibly prophetical points.  I’m rather ‘long in the tooth’ and therefore cynical about politics. At the time of the election we were preparing to go away for some rest and recuperation. Hence the delay in blogging. Even so, when I got around to starting this post’s draft last week I was directed to look up a special photo, as above, which sync’d into what I had in mind, as explained below.

ELECTION RESULTS

Three of UK’s main political parties got thrashed and trashed on 7th May 2015. Leaders of the coalition Liberal Democrats and opposition Labour parties resigned and the leader of the UK Independence Party lost his seat with ensuing furore over leadership. Astonishing wins of the Scottish Nationalist Party in taking its seats from 6 to 56 brought a wholesale change to politics north of the border, as indicated in this cartoon by Adams (click image for more). It was a night of shocking surprises for many well-known MPs in the loss of their seats.

ADAMS20150508end3_3296199k

Something unique happened and marked 8th May as a historic day – maybe a tipping point in not only Britain’s political but also spiritual status?  It presages remarkable winds-of-change blowing right across and re-shaping the political spectrum. It stunned not only politicians but also pundits – and particularly in proving the latter unsound.

We’d taken scant notice of pre-election news and discussions for we loathe carping speculation of ‘talking heads’. As Christians, we have serious reservations about most parties’ policies, but the Prime Minister’s saving grace is that of not being anti-Israel. As the Lord was behind the changes, that point may well have helped David Cameron. AND, he is going to sort out the BBC at long last! (See Tories going to war with BBC.)

That said, here are my observations in sequential relevance:

1. Cloud Over Windsor 2011

Alan May’s above photo of a cloud taken from Windsor on Garter Day June 2011 seems prophetical.  Does it hint at a separation between Scotland and mainland Britain?  The fact it was taken there may be of profound significance. (More details in this post about prayers in Parliament and about Windsor – note reference to ringing of bell in the first. The link to the photo has been taken down because of overwhelming demand upon the source article – a newspaper in Newbury, Berks.)

2. Vision of Bells in Scotland

Does Tony Puccio’s vision in far away Tucson, Arizona, of bells ringing in Scotland relate to the great jubilation of the SNP and voters? It sure does! In early April Tony blogged:

“I’m going to go out on a limb here and post this. Earlier in the afternoon of 4/16/2015 I was driving home and I began to hear bells ringing. I saw and heard church bells in steeples ringing smaller bells as well were ringing. They were ringing over Scotland.  I’m not sure as to their purpose but I just am posting what I was seeing and hearing.”

It attracted many comments and I remarked, “Ha bells again Tony – that’s how we linked up in 2012! (see ‘Get Ready’ – Paul Revere’s Ride and revival in UK) This time my first impression is of definite warning in view of next month’s elections…nationalist party strongly rocking the boat, probably going to trash Labour Party… There have been plenty of strong prophetic words for Scotland, however, and maybe it’s time to ‘ring out these changes’!” (eg see Dr Sharon Stone, Jane Hamon and the McKies – emphasis added)

Regarding deception over voting in Scotland and divisive power see Revd Dr Clifford Hill’s warning Call to pray for the UK.

3. Lord, Turn The Tide!

I was astonished the election results could show that my prayer request “Lord, turn the tide in the UK” seems to have been met in a promising way. Also in connection with the strongly anti-Christian policies dominating and contributing to the decay of society’s moral fibre, maybe it relates to the Rock (being Christ) I saw emerge through a tear in the rotten fabric of our national life, as in the open vision that confronted me in 2004. (For details read Comments upon the collapse of Society.)

4. Sharon Stone’s Remarks

At her Windsor mentoring day on 9th May Dr Sharon Stone taught on patterns and principles of developing a ‘forerunner’s heart’. She said on these occasions there is always a tug-of-war between disappointment and excitement but this shaking leaves a vulnerability because of people resigning and leaving their positions. So, there’s now an unexpected period of re-establishment and things manoeuvering around that the enemy can take advantage of.

Therefore, prophetic intercessors should be taking advantage of this to turn things around because, even though there have been significant changes, all these things need praying through. As a historical example, Sharon referred to the monarchy’s actions in Windsor of calling out the sick to line up for healing prayer! (Akin to Maunday Thursday practices?) She then said,

“God is shifting the church today. We all have to be more inclusive in all areas, we’ve got to ascend from the priestly area of worship and devotion to that of prophetic revelation and to the apostolic decree as well in both worship and prayer – (thus) we can proclaim what He says.”

Sharon taught on how the account in Acts 12 of Peter’s supra-natural release from prison can be applied to opening up civic and governmental places and situations to the Kingdom of God – keys to open and shut gates of our cities. We’re not just to watch and protect but open up our communities to the purposes of God, that Jesus be glorified in the midst of people, seen for who He really is and that He be loved and accepted there.

5. Revd Ken Gott

The next session on the power of Godly inheritance was delivered by Ken Gott of House of Prayer Europe in Sunderland. He gave an example of how this happened personally via the influence of a man, whose mother had been saved through a miraculous, re-creative healing at a meeting held by early 20th Century evangelist Stephen Jeffreys. That young son’s very first convert was Ken’s great-grandmother.

On the recent election, Ken remarked,

“Something of God happened in the election….I confirm that something of the Spirit moved in that election, moved in our nation. Political commentators got it drastically wrong, the commentators were shocked, the pollsters were amazed how wrong they got it – and everybody’s looking at each other saying we never saw this, we never saw it!

“I’m not saying I’m for the Tories, for a Tory government, for David Cameron, or whatever – but what we need is God. And God orchestrated it…

“I believe we will yet find out that God orchestrated something in the last couple of days! I’m 100% totally, totally convinced of it!”

“We’d been praying all day that we would have Godly men, men who were taught righteously, that they would be courageous in their decision-making and be Godly. We prayed and covered the whole election from the time the polling stations were opened to the time they closed and the ballot boxes were opened…and God heard…

“And yet when that exit poll came out I knew God had answered that prayer, not only of ours but of others too…”

6. 70-year Period

After his message I approached Ken and Michael Marcell, who was with him, and asked both if they’d noticed the ‘coincidence’ of the previous day’s doubly historic events being related to a 70-year period – and possibly a Biblical one at that!

The 8th May not only brought the amazing election results for a new government’s historic victory but also celebrated the 70th anniversary of VE-Day (1945 Victory in Europe over Nazi Germany). Also, that day’s VE-Day memorial service at the Cenotaph, Whitehall, was attended by all political leaders – The Telegraph’s sub-line: ‘Cruel quirk of timing throws defeated leaders Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg together with victors David Cameron and Nicola Sturgeon’.

7. Cindy Jacobs’ Word for UK

A few days later Michael met Cindy Jacobs, who too remarked upon the significance of the election and brought a greatly encouraging prophetic word for the UK, as copied in this earlier post.

HA, LOL – an unintentional 7 items yet again!!

Significance of 70-year cycle

Now, 70 years after victory over a common foe, could Britain at last have an opportunity to move out of ‘Babylonian captivity’ (as in The Babylonian aspect of the Church’s ‘New Era’)?  The ancient Jews were held captive there for 70 years after the fall of Jerusalem in 586BC before being allowed by Persian king Cyrus to return to their holy city.

I will be making several points on this cycle in due course, as intimated in closing Lion Bites God-incidents:.

Meanwhile, read PS: legal-eagles’ opinion post-election as well as Intercessors note 70-year election significance too.

Cindy Jacobs: the election and word from the Lord for the UK

Thank you to Michael Marcel at UK Awakening for the following account. As previously, it is again noteworthy how visiting prophets are sensitive to changes in nations’ spiritual atmospheres.  With her husband Mike Jacobs, Cindy is co-founder of the intercessory Generals International.: WORD OF THE LORD FROM CINDY JACOBS (On) 13th May 2015 Cindy Jacobs came through Heathrow for a few hours and gave this word. The first part was at one point, then she prophesied over someone and then she gave the second word:

“For I am getting ready to break out in the UK, I am getting ready to display my awesome power; I am getting ready to display my awesome glory”, says the Lord.

And the Lord says, “There are some of you watching and you have been waiting for this moment; you have been like Gideon hiding out”, but the Lord says, “Come out of the shadows now and I am going to give you power; you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. I am getting ready to show that I am the Almighty, I am the Almighty, I am going to show it to England in a Biblical(?) way, I am going to manifest my Presence. In the past some of you had to just wait and believe that I would manifest who I am, but I am coming, the Almighty is coming to show who I am, a mighty God.”

Cindy then spoke about the previous week’s general election: Cindy Jacobs - FB page“I would like to give a little perspective on the election. First of all I am very excited. When I landed at Heathrow, for one of the first times in many, many years I felt an enormous peace come over me. I cannot tell you what has happened in this nation, but something mighty has happened. (Emphasis added) “The Lord has given you a window for a new season. It is a window of opportunity; it is a window for the Body of Christ to find her voice.

“If you will stand up now and be the voice to the nations”, says the Lord, “this awakening that you have prayed for is on its way; it is coming, it is coming like a mighty rushing wind”, says the Lord, and the Lord says, “if now there will be a coalescing”, and I know you coalesce, but even in a greater measure, to be a voice into the Government, the word of the Lord is that “this is the season where I am giving you a loud voice, Body of Christ, and if you will speak now I will amplify that voice and it is going to begin to tip the nation. If you miss your window you will not have the effect. Do not relax, even though there was a lot of prayer at the time of the election; this is not a time to relax this is a time to press in. Go and see your MPs, make appointments. This is the season where you are to speak and be that loud voice, and if you will do that”, says the Lord, “I am going to give this window of awakening; that the power of God is going to rush into the UK, not just England; the power of God is visiting the whole of the UK.”

The Lord says, “Watch and see, but do not wait, do not relax, press in(?) and establish a new season(?) shift.  If you make your voice heard I will tip the scale for the revival you have all been believing for.”

AMEN!

Lord, turn the tide in the UK

Seven Bore

In closing the previous post I referred to a meeting convened for local churches that would be praying for this week’s General Election. That was last Wednesday evening, the day in which I’d been re-wording a reference page on the nature of Time to include a little something on the mathematics of tides. I was reminded of that in the meeting and was prompted to pray for the Lord to “Turn the tide”.

It was, in fact, the first of two evenings’ meetings which contrasted interestingly. Both were informal and capably led by Anglican ministers with the first being based upon the scriptural account of Samuel and Saul. We compared their lives and anointing, as well as obedience, and considered the lessons applicable to today’s events and prayed accordingly.

The next evening was one of worshiping the Lord and this centre’s director led on guitar as we waited on the Lord. Styled as community worship with prayer for healing, it was open to the Holy Spirit’s leading, inspiration and ministry. Therefore, I’ve increasingly sensed the presence of the Lord and other impressions at these times. Later in the free, unstructured gathering we were invited to pray for politicians.

Having ‘closed down’ from blogging for the Bank Holiday weekend, I was startled to be reminded of that for I sensed, going across the room, a tidal bore like that of the River Severn. Its back-white tone was similar to the above photo of the bore. (The tidal range is second highest in the world – learn more by clicking photo.)  As attendees were well disposed towards Holy Spirit’s activity I shared the vision and prayed, “Lord turn the tide in Britain”.

Afterwards, I recalled having blogged something about torrents of water flowing in the land after having referred to a vision of a river flowing through Britain (here and here). Moreover, I’d since had an email on that subject but not had opportunity to assimilate it.

The content is noteworthy, as is its reference to Chuck Pierce on a river that will reverse direction! (underlined). This is similar to what ‘Chabod’ reported when commenting upon Dale Mast, but which had occurred many years before Chuck’s time in Liverpool. And of course he wasn’t speaking about the Mersey!  Chabod’s comment is appended in full to this post.

This is what Suzanne sent [NB: we were unaware of revival events reported 7 May]:

The River of God

Monica White (Wells) – 10 April 2015
“Today I walked up a hill in Weston Super Mare and interceded again for England. Again we saw a flood, tidal wave, coming over the land from the Bristol channel. It was a physical wave we saw in the Spirit.”

Gaynor Lewis (Bristol) – 31 March 2015
“As we were praying I saw the oceans around the coast of Great Britain become turbulent to the extent that waters swept up the estuaries of our country. The cities along these estuaries were engulfed by a wave of the spirit. Cities such as Liverpool, Hull, London, Bristol, Cardiff were touched by the spirit of God.

“Places set aside for the youth were affected, nightclubs saw many lives touched by the spirit of God. I saw a campus established in a nightclub and hundreds of young people flocking into the church. The demographic profile of the church changed. New birth, new life, new purpose.”

Ruth Johnson (Bristol) – 11 September 2014

Wave Coming into Bristol

“I just sense that there’s a wave coming into Bristol in the Spirit. And that Lord You want us to get in the water and You want us to be on our boards, and You want us to be standing on those boards, and riding that wave. And as that wave comes in, to be shouting out the Name of Jesus, there is no other Name, there is no other power, but the Name of Jesus. And that Lord God, we need, as we ride that wave, as it comes in, to be able to see from a different perspective.”

Word for Liverpool from Chuck Pierce – 22nd January 2014

Mantle presented to Toronto via Barbara Yoder and Chuck Pierce sent a mantle to Liverpool – A river mantle for the days ahead.

“It is being sent all the way to Liverpool and we are going to decree that the river of God for Liverpool will start flowing. It will align I hear the Lord saying there is a divine alignment of my glory that is going on in this nation at this time which has never gone on before. This night is the beginning of a divine alignment of my glory.

“Father we send a new mantle to the Liverpool area. We say the mantle, the river of God will flow from Liverpool, it will move through Manchester, it cannot be stopped. It will begin to align with others rivers that are forming, the one in Dudley. It will cause London eventually to come alive. I say to you, you must go all the way to the south of this nation for I will create a strange thing: I will cause a river to flow north and I will be flowing from north to south, south to north. The alignment of God’s glory is beginning tonight here at Burton-on-Trent. This begins a new movement in this land.”

Song – Yes we will flow with the river, move in the river, live in the river with you x 2

“Just let it release and some will say it is causing destruction but I will say I am re-building that which is of ancient times. The Lord says I will bring your sons and your daughters back, back to the place of my plumb-line back to the place I have bought in the land.”
