Prophetic Scripture Update #5: Gog-Magog coalition solidifies, Assad’s secret visit to Russia

THE HOLY BIBLE CONTINUES TO DISPLAY ITS RELEVANCE TO TODAY’S NEWS

As I read yesterday’s (Wednesday 22nd November) Telegraph report it kept speaking to me of chapter 38 in the Book of Ezekiel. That’s where the Lord told that Old Testament prophet about a future international alliance that would come against His people.

As outlined in Update #2, Ezekiel 38 and 39 describe an alliance known as ‘the Gog and Magog’ coalition that will eventually invade the land the Holy One of Israel gave to His people. Most Bible scholars regard the various people named as forming that group  as coming from the land between and north of the Black and Caspian Seas. ie modern Russia.

The prophet received a word from the Lord to ‘set his face’ against Gog, a leader of those nations north of Israel and which include Persia/Iran. And in coming into battle he and those nations would be used for God’s own purpose for this almighty battle:

“So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel. I will not let them profane My name anymore – Then the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.” (Ezekiel 38:7 NKJV)

Let’s check the pertinent points of Middle East correspondent Raf Sanchez report, emphases mine.  His opening gives the game away!!

‘Syria’s Bashar al-Assad has thanked Vladimir Putin and the Russian military for helping to save his country as the Russian president prepared to host the leaders of Iran and Turkey for high-level talks on ending the war in Syria. Mr Assad made a secret visit to Socchi (Black Sea resort) on Monday…(where he) met Mr Putin for 3 hours to discuss a potential political settlement for Syria’s future…

‘Mr Putin ordered Russian forces to intervene in Syria on Mr Assad’s behalf in late 2015…(and) with their Iranian allies have swung the tide of war decisively in Mr Assad’s favour.

‘The Kremlin said the two men had worked to “prepare the groundwork for possible understandings” that might be reached during today’s (22nd) summit between Mr Putin, Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani and President Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey.

‘ Iran and Russia supported the Assad regime throughout the war whilst Turkey has backed the opposition. The three countries have acted as guarantors of local deals in Syria and Mr Putin hopes they will be able to agree on a comprehensive pact to end the fighting.

Mr Putin has placed himself centre-stage in talks over Syria’s future. As well as hosting the Turkish and Iranian leaders, he spoke to Donald Trump by phone…briefing him on the talks with Mr Assad.

‘The Geneva talks (with Syrian opposition) have collapsed several times…observers agree it’s more likely major decisions will be made by Russia, Iran and Turkey.’

SO, WHO’s IN CHARGE? Clearly the Russian leader is! Although often disagreeing with each other, the leaders of Iran and Turkey kowtow to him.

MEANWHILE ON ISRAELI-SYRIAN BORDER

Previous posts on Gog/Magog referred to the Iranian strategy of getting a strong swathe of influence westwards from the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean by means of proxy-terrorist, regular military and diplomatic activities. In view of their declared ambition of attacking and capturing Jerusalem, Iran’s military presence in the Golan and within 10 miles of Israel is totally unacceptable to the Israeli government.

Several bulletin point headlines in Middle-East Update #2 highlight those deep issues. Note the reference to a special ‘eschatological’ brigade in the Golan. One whose aim is undoubtedly to prepare the ground for the Shiite Mahdi to appear (with Jesus in tow!) – obviously a blasphemous counterfeit of Christian theology. Moreover, Monday’s long telephone conversation between Putin and PM Netanyahu ended up with them at odds over removing Iran/Hizballah from the Golan border (Debka). It would appear Donald Trump has quietly withdrawn the US from involvement on this front. Having close Christian input, details of the Ezekiel 38 Gog-Magog prophecy will have been brought to his attention.

In November 2017 a missile is launched from Yemen towards Riyadh, the Saudi capital. The Lebanese Prime Minister, a Sunni Muslim, finds safety in Arabia and resigns his post.

While these might be cause for concern with many, we who are familiar with the Four Signposts know the big event to watch out for. We do not know how it will begin. It could have started over any of these events, or an event like it in the future. But that is the nature of the enmity between Sunni and Shia, one of constant agitation. We will continue to see sabre rattling and tough talk and events that make it seem the Second Signpost War could break out at any time.

Middle-East update #1 – events around last Thursday’s post

This is first of three overviews of events in the Middle-East before leading into a consideration of how they relate to the ‘Four Signposts’ approach to Bible prophecy. We will look more closely at Jordan and dip into reports on Saudi Arabian involvement in the Israel-Palestine peace process and with Iran.

Events continue to accelerate at breathtaking speed and I will present a mix of comments and bullet-point headlines for ease of reading. Links are shown for those wishing to read in more depth and consult the source material.

NCIS fans will recall Gibb’s Rule #39: ‘There’s no such thing as a coincidence!’ – or, as in my reply to a reader’s recent comment, “Coincidences are ‘spooky’ action in time” (a play upon Einstein’s reaction to quantum physics’ hypothesis of ‘entanglement’, ie. non-local correlative ‘communication’ between photons of light and sub-atomic particles).

A BRIEF RECAP

Apart from the ‘God-incidence’ of two delegates who’d heard the same teaching, writing on the same day on the same topic – the need for ‘air supremacy’ when prophesying –  this time last week I submitted a very brief outline of major developments in the Middle-East since September 2015. It included reports of visits of a delegation of Christians to meet the leaders of Egypt and Jordan, as well as a UK prophet’s bringing the Lord’s words to diplomats at the UN in Geneva, including Donald Trump’s personal envoys.

For readers who’ve not yet read Paws 4 Thought, my premise follows the ‘coincidental’ similarity 14 years to the day between the infamous 9/11 attack upon the twin towers in New York and a severe lightning strike upon a crane, causing it to crash onto Mecca’s  Grand Mosque and thereby killing over 100 people.

A ‘coincidental connection’ between those tragedies in New York and Mecca is the Bin Ladin family by virtue of their Binladin construction group owning that crane and of their  notorious son Osama having been the leader of Al Qaeda.

JORDAN ON-THE-GROUND

I wondered if Joel Rosenberg’s report of visiting Jordan accurately paints the picture in view of strong discrimination against those who become  Christians (secret police watch ex-Muslims). I’m grateful to friends who’ve been there allowing me to share their response to my blog of his news:

‘Thank you for this. It is of course wonderful to have any connection with the head of a Moslem country; nevertheless I wonder whether Joel Rosenberg knows the following:-
Christians can’t go to the camp that the delegation visited, since the men are beaten up and the women raped; they therefore have to sleep on church floors, pavements, or if lucky in a run-down room with no heating. They are cared for by local churches.
Syrian refugees are paid 250 Jordanian Dinars a month in perpetuity by UNHCR (about £150), whereas Syrian Christian refugees receive 10 dinars a month per family member AND only for six months! Iraqis, whether Christian or not receive nothing, and are moreover not allowed to work in Jordan. There is evidence that Moslem admin. officials report Christian refugees to the secret police. Those really in danger of course are those who convert from Islam, and we were moved by all those who came to our conference at some danger to themselves.’

Their eye-opening account was gained first-hand serving with Flame International in its missions to victims of wars – read also its encouraging Report from the Jordan Mission October 2017.

WASHINGTON ROUND-UP

From his desk as an accredited correspondent in the White House, William Koenig gives an exceptionally extensive round-up of the week’s Middle-Eastern news in his ‘Eye-View’ of last Friday (also see World Watch Daily). In Bill’s words it was ‘another breathtaking prophetic week in the Middle-East’.:

‘INSIDE THE WHITE HOUSE’
  • ‘President Donald Trump, his son-in-law Jared Kushner, Saudi Crown Prince Mahmoud bin Salman and Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri were the talk of the Middle East the past week.
  • Crown Prince Mahmoud rounded up Saudi princes and businessmen and imposed travel curbs in his fight over corruption.
  • Saad Hariri resigned from his position over fear of assassination by Hezbollah and gave a scathing speech about Iran and Hezbollah.
  • Iran’s foreign minister blamed Jared Kushner for the Salman and Hariri activities.

POLITICO wrote, “President Donald Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser Jared Kushner returned home Saturday, Oct. 29 from an unannounced visit to Saudi Arabia — his third trip to the country this year…

David Ignatius, a long time Washington Post reporter and Saudi expert, pointed to Donald Trump’s and Jared Kushner’s alleged influence in his article, The Saudi crown prince just made a very risky power play…

“MBS [Crown Prince Salman] is emboldened by strong support from President Trump and his inner circle, who see him as a kindred disrupter of the status quo — at once a wealthy tycoon and a populist insurgent. It was probably no accident that last month, Jared Kushner, Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law, made a personal visit to Riyadh. …MBS would probably be flattered to be described as a Saudi Trump. But Xi and his anti-corruption power play may be the real role model.”

Peace front:
  • The Trump team seems determined to forge a comprehensive peace deal between Israel, the Palestinians and the Sunni Arab world.
  • Egyptian President al-Sisi met with the Palestinian President Abbas on Monday, and King Salman of Saudi Arabia met with Abbas on Tuesday to discuss American-sponsored peace talks.
  • Former Haaretz journalist and now Channel 10 correspondent Barak Ravid wrote about “Trump’s mystery plan for Mideast peace,” which is expected early next year…:
  • ‘Israeli and Palestinian officials expect President Trump to unveil a Mideast peace proposal by early next year…
  • ‘The U.S. “peace team” working on the issue is relatively small and very discreet — just five people, including senior adviser Jared Kushner and special envoy Jason Greenblatt. The entire process is being run out of the White House, with the State Department and other agencies providing advice and support. According to U.S. officials, Trump is the driving force on this issue and is personally involved. Israeli officials say they hear Trump is pushing his team to have a proposal soon.
  • ‘In the last nine months Trump has met Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Palestinian President Abbas separately three times each to discuss his peace initiative…
  • ‘Greenblatt’s last trip to the region lasted three weeks, and Kushner, who is officially leading the “peace team,” came to the region three times and spends hours every week in phone calls with Arab leaders in order to get their support.
  • ‘The small, close-knit team has meant almost no leaks and zero public scandals, mistakes or embarrassments…’
What they’re saying:
  • Netanyahu told U.K. Prime Minister May last week that he’s in ‘wait and see mode’ and expecting a proposal late this year or early next year, according to Israeli and British officials. “I don’t know what peace plan Trump is about to present and I am not sure anybody knows, but I am happy the Trump team is bringing fresh and out of the box thinking on this issue,“
  • Abbas told a group of former Israeli members of Knesset that he expects a plan later this year and that Trump has told him he supports the two-state solution and is planning to make his position public soon, according to people present at the meeting.
  • A White House official says there is no artificial deadline and the goal is to ‘facilitate a deal that works for both Israelis and Palestinians, not to impose anything on them’.
What to watch:
  • Trump is counting on Saudi Arabia to help get both the Israelis and Palestinians to say yes to any initiative. Kushner builds on his close relationship with the Saudi crown prince Mohamed Bin Salman as a conduit for a much bigger Saudi role in the peace process than ever before…President Abbas was in Riyadh earlier this week to talk about the peace process with the Saudi leadership.
  • Vice President Mike Pence will visit in mid-December and meet with both Netanyahu and Abbas and likely urge the parties to go back to the negotiating table.
  • Netanyahu’s political situation could be destabilized by a peace plan that includes Israeli concessions on politically charged issues, like borders, settlements and the future of Jerusalem. .
  • Abbas is in the midst of implementing a reconciliation deal with his rival party Hamas. The deal, which was led by Egypt with quiet support from the White House, includes the gradual transfer of control over the Gaza strip back to the Palestinian authority. A collapse of this agreement could have serious implications on any push for a peace deal.

  • Thu Nov 9: Trump may have pushed Saudi Arabia and Iran closer to war  CNBC.  Koenig quotes CNBC.com senior columnist Jake Novak’s Commentary in some depth: ‘As I noted when he was first put in his top position by his father King Salman in June, Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman was already known as a hardcore hawk against Iran. Just a month before he was made crown prince, bin Salman declared that peace dialogue with Iran was impossible…More aggressive anti-Iranian hawks like bin Salman may have seen Donald Trump’s election as an excuse to win the day over more dovish princes and ministers. And the White House seemingly gave Saudi Arabia a green light…Step four seems to have come in September, when bin Salman reportedly secretly visited Israel to discuss Iran and other potential cooperative measures. Neither country is officially acknowledging that visit took place, but at least one Israeli government source confirmed the meeting last month…And now we’re on the step five, which appears to be a combination of the purge to remove any possible internal hurdles towards a greater anti-Iranian push, and blatant protests against any real or perceived Iranian aggression.

Is Saudi Arabia pushing Israel into war with Hezbollah and Iran?

  • Koenig: ‘This is an interesting perspective from Obama’s former ambassador to Israel.’  In Haaretz Daniel B. Shapiro is Distinguished Visiting Fellow at the Institute for National Security Studies in Tel Aviv, asks, ‘What connects Lebanese PM Saad Hariri’s sudden resignation and Hezbollah’s assassination threat with Saudi Arabia and Israel? It’s all about Iran.
  • ‘But Israel must not be maneuvered by an impatient Riyadh into a premature confrontation…Hariri has long known that as prime minister, he lived on borrowed time. At Hezbollah’s whim, at any moment, his father’s fate could become his own. It’s fair to say that the assassination attempt he alluded to in his resignation announcement represented a death threat he always faced. It was only a question of when Hezbollah would choose to operationalize it. 
  • ‘The bigger question is whether his resignation is a sign that the Saudis withdrew their support for him once again. At first blush, that would not seem consistent with King Salman and MBS’s overall desire to confront Iran’s proxies on every front…’
  • ‘But it is plausible that the Saudis are trying to create the context for a different means of contesting Iran in Lebanon: an Israeli-Hezbollah war….’

Russia/Iran’s, the Gog-Magog coalition’s, game-changer

I’ve been twice ‘nudged’ to check Israel’s politico-military-diplomatic intelligence website Debkafile. The first time was just before I was about to go offline for dinner last night, only hours after having posted Prophetic Scripture Update #4.

Not only did I find news of expanding Russian-Iranian military cooperation in Syria, and inserted a linked ‘alert’ at the close of that post, but also I found the website’s layout had been changed within those four hours. Then first thing at my desk this morning I got another ‘nudge’!  I regularly check links within blogs before publication, but in view of that new site I again checked all Debka links in that post only to find they now give a ‘404’ unavailability error.

Readers who may have tried them without success should now try again via above link.

Notwithstanding PM Netanyahu’s frequent meetings and contacts with president Putin, Russia is radically ramping up its direct involvement with Iranian-backed forces in Syria against ISIS. Also, in refusing to permit/oversee a wide buffer-zone between Syria and Israel as well as enabling an Iranian corridor through Syria to the Mediterranean, Russia is turning a blind eye to Iranian forces coming within easy striking distance of Israel.

Even so, the Lord has this and every outcome subject to His sovereign purposes:

“So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel and I will not let them profane My Holy Name anymore. Then the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel…” (Ezek 39:7)…”I will set My glory among the nations; all the nations shall see My judgement which I have executed and My hand which I have laid on them…” (Ezek 39:21)

The following extracts give an idea how on-the-ground conditions are lining up with the Gog-Magog prophecies. AND let’s not overlook contemporary words from the Lord about His shaking the earth and heavens!

Last night’s Syrian/Hizballah may call up Russian air-strikes as cooperation deepens –

  • ‘The license now awarded to Syrian and pro-Iranian Hizballah commanders to contact the operations rooms of Russian air squadrons, without going through the main Russian air base at Hmeimim in Latakia or the Syrian high command in Damascus, dramatically boosts the autonomy of Syrian, Hizballah and Iranian commanders in the field…(all emphases mine)
  • ‘Word of this game-changer was delivered by Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, (to) Syrian ruler Bashar Assad in Damascus last Thursday, Sept. 14…(he) then flew to Tehran – this time in secret – to discuss Russia’s new operation plans for Syria with Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and Military leaders.
  • ‘DEBKAfile’s military sources note that the actions set in train by Shoigu have radically ramped up Russia’s military cooperation in Syria with Iran, Syria and Hizballah. They were timed to take place shortly before President Donald Trump’s meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu at UN Center in New York on Monday, Sept. 19…
  • ‘The Kremlin was also putting Washington on notice that, after investing massive military and financial resources in Syria, it had no intention to let pro-American forces share in the kudos of the final victory over the Islamic State in Syria, which belonged solely to the Russian-Syrian-Iranian-Hizballah war alliance…’

This morning’s Russian pontoons convey Syrian forces across Euphrates –

  • ‘Hailed as one of the most important military feats of the Syrian war. DEBKAfile’s military sources add that Hizballah forces are part of the contingent crossing the river…
  • ‘While the rhetoric flows from Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s talks with world leaders in New York, a profound strategic event is taking place on the Syrian-Iraqi border: Iran is winning a land corridor through Iraq and Syria to the Mediterranean Sea with Russian support but without the US or Israel taking any counteraction…
  • ‘Iran’s new army chief, Maj. Gen. Abdolrahim Mousavi, threatened Monday to raze Haifa and Tel Aviv to the ground if Israel makes any mistake…‘ (rant omited!)

I won’t copy his threatening the destruction of Israel within 25 years as we’re well aware of our heavenly Father’s contempt for such plans. It is written:

“Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against I the LORD and against My Anointed, they have said to themselves, “Let us break their bonds in pieces and cast away their cords from us, But I the Lord who sits in the heavens shall laugh, I the LORD shall hold them in derision”. (Psalm 2:1-4)

MOREOVER, back in April a seer known to my readers had a vision in which she heard those preceding verses and records:

‘Then suddenly I came out of the encounter and I was fully awake. Immediately I began to pray in the Spirit concerning what I had seen and what I had heard, then the Holy Spirit showed me again a great, severe and violent shaking that is about to take place in many Nations in the Earth. Then I heard these words,

“WATCH! FOR THIS IS THE HOUR OF DIVINE DERISION AND SCORN FOR THE NATIONS OF THE EARTH”.

Meanwhile, Egypt’s president el-Sisi and PM Netanyahu have held a most amicable first publicly-announced meeting during the opening day of UN General Assembly. (Times of Israel describes it as ‘Egyptian leader showing his mettle by posing with Netanyahu’!)

Prophetic Scripture Update #4: Gog-Magog coalition, Putin’s ambitions

On Friday Joel Rosenberg in Jerusalem blogged about FoxNews.com publishing that morning a new column of his on the massive Russian war games underway near the borders of three NATO countries and Ukraine. He includes findings from an exclusive poll he’d commissioned about American attitudes towards Russia and Putin earlier this year.

Regular readers of this blog will be familiar with Joel’s writings but FoxNews introduces him:

  • Rosenberg has extraordinary credentials for his perspective on America’s enemies, earning him the nickname of a “modern day Nostradamus.”
  • In 2002, Rosenberg opened his debut novel, The Last Jihad, with Muslim extremists using an airplane in a kamikaze attack on the president of the United States. Joel’s blog Putin is more dangerous than radical Islam is primarily concerned with that Russian’s intentions in Eastern Europe and on Joel’s experience as a Watcher on the walls, “Putin is the greatest geo-political threat that the West faces”.

The biblical aspect of Putin’s ambitions, however, increasingly continues to be directly connected with the Gog-Magog coalition foreseen by prophet Ezekiel in the scenario of end-times events the Lord showed him; as outlined in Update #3 (with its account of a ‘coincidental’ attack by ‘cyber-gremlins’ AND that’s not the first time with respect to my blogging about Iran!).

In view of his residence in Israel, Joel will doubtless be aware of developments over the Syrian front, as in yesterday’s Breaking Israel News of Russia rejecting Israel’s request for a 37-mile buffer zone in the Golan to keep Iranian-backed forces away from their border.

These extracts from Debkafile’s recent military intelligence analyses and reports provide more on Putin’s support of Iran:

  • ‘The Russian air force has recently deployed to Syria four of its most highly advanced early warning and control aircraft, the Beriev A-50 SRDLO (“Mainstay”), which is rated the most sophisticated AWACS in operation…(The plane’s)  radar is capable of pinpointing targets across a distance of 600km (covering) all parts of Israel and can detect every aerial and military movement…’ (30 Aug – Russian-Syrian radar covers all Israel)
  • ‘Washington was winding up discussions with Moscow on terms for US special forces to evacuate the Al Tanf post they were holding in the Syrian-Iraqi-Jordanian triangle and hand it over to the Syrian army. Quitting Al Tanf is tantamount to the US withdrawal from south-eastern Syria and its handover to Syria and its allies, including Hizballah…’(8 Sept – US set to quit Al Tanf.   • ‘Iran, Syria and Hizballah sharpened their responses to the large-scale Israeli military war game against a potential Hizballah invasion… An Iranian military buildup indeed appears to be taking place on Syria’s borders with Jordan and Israel, in response to Israel’s mock thrust into Lebanon. But they are moving in on areas outside the de-escalation zones which are manned by Russian officers. Their tactic therefore is to entrench themselves in other parts of the southeastern Syria so that Russian, Iranian, Syrian and Hizballah forces form a continuous, impermeable line along Syria’s borders with Israel and Jordan.’ (12 Sept – Iran build-up in S Syria…)
  • ‘The (US/UK-forbidden river Euphates) crossing operation, as well as deepening Russia’s military involvement in Syrian and Hizballah offensives, is a major boost for Iran’s objectives, with grave strategic implications for the US and Israel…Iran and its pawns were creating an accomplished fact, with massive logistical and military assistance from the Russian army…By establishing a foothold on both banks of the Euphrates River and both sides of the Syrian-Iraqi border, Iran has taken a step towards pursuing its avowed goal of Israel’s destruction.’ (16 Sept – Syrian/Hizballah troops cross Euphrates).

We strongly object to the military entrenchment of Iran and its surrogates, led by Hizballah, in Syria, and we shall do what is necessary to guard Israel’s security. For those who aren’t familiar with Henry Kissinger, he was the secretary of state during the late Nixon and Ford years, 1973-1977.

He is the one who worked to open up China, to get America out of the Vietnam War, détente with the Soviet Union, and of course to engineer the Petrodollar system. But it was also clear, honest, and bold. Indeed, it was unlike any speech any American President has ever delivered face to face to the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf Cooperation Council, Egypt, Jordan and other Muslim countries. Important update on Israel, Iran and the United States

Further to my previous posts (here and here) on developments in Syria regarding British, American and Jordanian special forces and Iranian interests there, we now see how that connects into the diplomatic details of President Trump’s visit to Israel.

Upon his visiting President Rivlin, Debkafile reports Israel’s president as saying “We can’t wake up with Iran and Hizballah on our border. We want Iran out of Syria, out of Lebanon and away from our borders, and we must move forward to this goal together with America.”

‘Donald Trump once again rebutted media evaluations of his trip to Israel as a demonstration of friendship without real content. Very shortly after his arrival, he stood up at the president’s residence in Jerusalem and delivered a string of important policy statements and new revelations:

  1. Iran would not be permitted to possess a nuclear weapon.
  2. Iran must dismantle the Shiite terrorists and militias.
  3. Iran must remove all those same foreign militias from Syria.
  4. Iran must evacuate Hizballah forces from Syria and disarm this Lebanese Shiite organization.
  5. The Saudi King Salman had told him first hand of his fervent wish for an Israeli-Palestinian peace. Trump heard the same sentiment from other Arab and Muslim rulers.

Readers of long-standing will be familiar with my concern since the mid-1980’s that Iran has never relinquished its ambition to attack, or mastermind an attack upon, Jerusalem. In fact, its often held military drills to practise achieving that goal. (See Welcome and various posts under Iran tag.)

Many events in the Middle East continue to contribute to the Signpost’s fulfilling of end time prophecy. Once in a while a more significant event comes along, like Erdoğan being granted dictatorial power earlier this month. This past month saw another event – though more subtle – which could be just as earth-shaking. This subtle event might not only clue us in as to how Iran could invade eastern Turkey and get away with it, but also, incredibly, give us a harbinger for when the Second Signpost is about to start!

This subtle event in the news is something the Albanian Prime Minister, Edi Rama, stated in a recent interview. It won’t sound like much unless you understand the politics and history of the region.

Iran’s changing land route to the west

One of our readers brought this news story to my attention.

Since American and Turkish forces are building up along the old route (see map in linked story), Iran will start using another route to head west.

Whatever the preparations needed – whether weapons, tactics, organizations and even infrastructure – God is allowing Iran and the rest of the Middle East (and now possibly the Balkans) to prepare for the Second Signpost. I believe this news story reflects that idea. I find it interesting that the new route also goes right through the heart of ISIS territory in Syria.

Of course the day may come when, in the thick of the Second Signpost, Iran won’t fear American forces anymore.

Welcome changes for Israel-Syria border on the Golan Heights

You may know of the grave consternation in recent weeks over Russian proposals to station Iranian and Turkish officers on Israel’s borders for monitoring the potential cease-fire “de-escalation” zones in Syria, yet being dangerous military threat (Debkafile special report 27 April). Last week, Moscow agreed instead to replace them with Russian military officers in the Mt. Hermon region and the areas where the Israeli, Lebanese and Syrian borders meet (Debkfile report 11 May).

Even so, according to Debkafile’s military sources explanation, ‘Damascus and Tehran acted to pre-empt the US-Jordanian-Israeli military operations along the Israeli and Jordanian borders with Syria, lest they lead to the carving out of US-controlled security zones in southern Syria’.

However, this morning’s news from this pre-mainstream media source is that elite units from Britain, America and Jordan have now been deployed to protect this highly strategic area.  

Debkafile reports, ‘They were acting to counter the Syrian-Iranian scheme to nullify the American plan for posting Jordanian forces in southeastern Syria, which (is) timed for the days before US President Donald Trump’s trip to the Middle East. 

‘The US-led armored force with British and Jordanian units crossed from northern Jordan through the Tanf Border-Crossing between the Hashemite Kingdom, Iraq and Syria, and took up positions capable of consolidating their control of the main road between Palmyra and Baghdad. Some of their moves were coordinated with Israel.’

‘This push aimed at countering the drive in the last few days by hundreds of Syrian troops, Iranian-backed…militias and Hizballah…special forces, with tanks and heavy equipment, to take over the town of Sabaa Biyar…’

In view of these significant military developments it is well that the West no longer has a leader of dis-reputable stance dealing with Middle-Eastern and the God-Magog nations (principally Russia, Iran, Turkey). Nevertheless, Debka concludes, ‘For the time being, the Trump administration’s plans for an offensive against the Islamic State appear to have been put on a back burner’.

AN EXTRA-SPECIAL THANKYOU TO EVERYONE WHO SIGNED UP IN EARLY 2012!

A month after launching this blog in late November 2011, I introduced my first readers to accredited Christian journalist and ‘Watcher in The White House’, William Koenig in Points to Ponder: 2011-2012 and Biblical Historical/ Financial Cycles. This referred to his four-year investigation of the work and predictions of the financial markets technical analyst Eric Hadik. (Read About William Koenig and Who is Eric Hadik?)

Erik Hadik built his renowned expertise upon W.D. Gann’s work on market cycle theories based upon his discoveries of mathematical-geometrical principles in the Bible!  Erik’s material is published at Inside Track Trading. (My very brief introduction to cycles may be read in the blog’s God-incidences hub.)

After closely following Hadik’s application of those theories to natural and social events, Bill published his findings simultaneously with the launch of Jonathan Cahn’s bestseller The Harbinger and attested to having “found (Hadik’s) calculations extremely accurate”. So, it certainly seems the Lord wants His people to learn about these matters.

Typically, he provides a  detailed analysis of their events and regards this present time as being, “Another prophetically pivotal month: many major headlines and news of final-day nations that will play out in the rest of April” (ie. 2017).

So in this light, it’s very poignant that yesterday Prime Minister Theresa May announced her decision to hold a snap general election on 8th June, thereby thwarting ‘Remoaners’ plans and thus strongly forging ahead with Brexit!

And today she got the backing of MPs by an overwhelming 522 to 13 votes – April 19th, an exceptionally historic day for the UK!

A sign of the prophesied shaking of Sunni and Shiite states?

Further to my remarks on Islam in my Condolences for victims of the Westminster attack, in which I quoted the Midnight Words for 2017 on the shaking of Muslim nations and their reception of the Gospel, and the word of wisdom from the Lord on praying for Muslims and the exposure of extremists that Cindy Jacobs brought, the outcome of this week’s Arab Summit is apposite.

A PROPHECY AND A VISION

First, let’s check that word Revd John Kilpatrick clearly heard a couple of months ago:

“Because the Lord is no respecter of persons, a GREAT shaking is coming to the Muslim nations. It will be sudden! It will be an unexpected and unexplained shaking that will redefine many Muslim nations and their leadership structures. The Lord is now in the process of shaking institutions, cultures, dialects, nationalities, governments, political structures and their frameworks, which men have trusted through generations. Many of them will be so shaken they cannot survive the shaking. Holy Spirit will even destabilize power structures, and many of those things that men have relied upon will ultimately fail. Truth will grip men’s hearts like a vice, even the unbelievers’ hearts and the hearts of the heathen. Ears will be opened to hear, even the ears of the unregenerates.”

Also, I recall the astonishing dream I had in 1992 about the fall of Islam being similar to that of Communism; first one state then another, just like a row of dominoes rolling over! (See Ask For The Nations.)  So we’re living in the exciting first phase of the Endtimes.

ARAB SUMMIT CONDEMNS IRAN

As hoped in my remarks about a new ‘Arab Spring’ in A Historic Day Nationally and Globally, there’s been some easing of relationship between the Sunni Arab leaders and Israel despite their ratified commitment to a two-state solution for Palestine. A new round of peace talks based upon the 2002 ‘reconciliation’ offer was called for.

The ‘Dead Sea’ summit held in Jordan is significant in having been devoted to indicting Iran, its Revolutionary Guards Corps and Hezbollah, its terrorist surrogate in Lebanon. This resulted in 15 resolutions being passed against Iran AND calling for its being held to its commitments under the nuclear and regional treaties. As Debkafile reports:

‘Iran was accused of meddling in the internal affairs of Arab nations, inciting Shiites against Sunnis, and arming and training Shiite terrorist groups for operations against legitimate Arab governments. The Arab rulers combined to put Tehran in the dock for its interference in the Syrian civil war and assault on its sovereignty.

None of the formal resolutions addressed the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and reference was made to the desired solution in a later separate statement. Debka notes especially:

‘This was the first Arab summit to refrain from defining Israel’s future borders under a peace deal. This leaves the door open for leeway in the negotiations to take place as part of the new US-Saudi-Egyptian peace initiative we reported earlier now the subject of active exchanges between the US, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Israel and the Palestinian Authority. King Abdullah of Jordan, who hosted the summit and Egyptian President Abdel-Fatteh El-Sisi will travel to Washington to report to President Donald Trump on the private discussions on this issue at the session and launch the next stage of the Arab-Israeli peace initiative.’

In reporting and analysing the event ICEJ News states, without reminding readers of Abbas’ persistent refusal to make/abide by agreements, ‘Jordanian King Abdullah and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas both had sharp words of criticism for Israel during the conference, saying among other things that its policy of building in West Bank settlements is the main reason peace has not yet been achieved’.

Moreover we remind ourselves of the region’s volatile instability, as historian, archeologist Alexander Joffe notes:

‘Syria, Yemen, and Libya are effectively no more, Iraq is divided between an Iranian rump, a shrinking ISIS entity, and an independent Kurdistan (in all but name), and Lebanon is a Shiite-dominated shell. The Palestinian Authority is a pseudo-state that exists only thanks to foreign aid and Israeli security assistance.’  (Palestinians and the Balfour Declaration at 100: Resisting the Past)

Not to mention Turkey, the egomaniacal despot of which furthers his ambitions of reviving the defunct Ottoman Empire!  Furthermore, his tirade against the Netherlands threatening “tomorrow in no part of the world, no European, no Westerner, will be able to take steps on the street safely and peacefully”, was made less than 24 hours before the Westminster outrage! Prophetic Scripture Update #3: Gog-Magog coalition and Middle-East alliance

So annoying yet interesting that my first draft of this post accidentally got published as I wrote its title. I wanted to jot a few notes before going out for a few hours, but I noticed something weird after having done the opening paragraph. Somehow it had already got published as just a title! So I updated it briefly 15 minutes after publication with what I’d done and an apology for anyone responding to the email notification.

BUT even more weird was what came next upon checking the morning news from Israel before going out. I kid you not – ‘Fortunately’, I’d printed a hardcopy for reading upon return because the website’s page went blank, then text/image placements and bits of text and coding appeared, and then it got completely scrambled. So I took a screen shot:

The page I wanted had only just been broadcast 5 minutes beforehand (09:57 BST) and is about an alternative alliance to ‘Gog-Magog’ and which is meeting tomorrow (Wed)! More of that later…but nothing as weird as this has happened since two incidents covering Iran whilst blogging!

EZEKIEL: GOG and MAGOG

After publishing #2 on Gog-Magog Tensions On The Golan within a similar 1/2 hour time-frame to this morning I added a couple of paragraphs plus further reading for any readers unfamiliar with Ezekiel’s account in chapter 38 of his prophetic scroll. Whilst doing so I considered the current status of what I’d termed the ‘Ezekiel alliance’ in my pre-blog and early blogging days. The term is a correct description but I now prefer ‘coalition’ in view of the normally inferred meaning of a geopolitical alliance as being one in which the UK is an active member. So I’ll now repeat and expand a little upon that extra material:

The Gog and Magog war against Israel is described in Ezekiel 38 and 39. The prophet received a word from the Lord to ‘set his face’ against Gog (‘prince of Rosh, Meshech and Tubal’); ie leader of a coalition of nations north of Israel comprising Persia/Iran, Libya (‘Put’), Ethiopia (‘Cush’), ‘Asia Minor’ (Gomer and Togarmah).

Most Bible scholars regard ‘Rosh’ and ‘Gog’ as coming from the land between and north of the Black and Caspian Seas. ie modern Russia. The Lord has a purpose for this battle, namely:

“So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel. I will not let them profane My name anymore – Then the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.” (Ezek 38:7 NKJV)

This battle also features in Revelation 20:7-10 as precursor to the battle of Armageddon and satan’s doom in the fiery lake.

UPDATES – Libya, Russia & Iran

The build-up of the coalition of the main, leading nations led by a superpower has gained momentum in starting to mirror the composition of peoples prophesied by Ezekiel. I was puzzled about the inclusion of Libya in view of its break-up after Gadaffi.  In the days of my emails on End-times and early blogging it was part of the ‘Ezekiel alliance’, but now?

My doubts were soon alleviated because a few days later I spotted this headline ‘Russian ties to Libyan Warlord ‘undeniable’, says US general’.  The article opens: ‘Russia has deployed troops to Egypt amid a strengthening of ties between Moscow and General Khalifa Haftar, the warlord who controls much of the eastern part of Libya, a US general said on Friday. 

‘Marine Gen. Thomas Waldhauser, the commander of U.S. Africa Command, said the link between Russia and General Haftar, the head of a group called the Libyan National Army, is “undeniable”.  “They are on the ground. They are trying to influence the action. We watch what they do with great concern”, he told reporters in the Pentagon on Friday…’

Eastern Libya was known as biblical ‘Put’. SO, Libya’s back in the Endgame folks!

AND, this afternoon comes this news: Putin meets Iran’s Rouhani as ties deepen – Russian president tells his Iranian counterpart the two countries “work very effectively, practically on all fronts in international action and the resolution of major and very grave international problems”!  Note that upon returning to Iran he announced the building of a railroad from Iran to the Mediterranean coast via Iraq and Syria.

ARAB SUMMIT – alliance with Israel

In view of the preceding, Debkfile’s ‘exclusive report’ High hopes of Arab summit OK for Israel peace step is exceptionally informative:

‘If the Arab summit opening in Amman Wednesday, March 9 meets the expectations of Washington and Jerusalem, the session will ratify a pivotal initiative for promoting an historic peace process between the Arab world and Israel. This effort, which matured through five months of mostly secret diplomacy, was launched by Donald Trump in November, shortly after he was elected US President.

‘The official Arab summit agenda covers the disastrous war crises preying on the Arab world in Syria, Yemen and Iraq, as well as economic issues. But the rulers will also quietly discuss off-stage a proposal brought by Saudi King Salman and Egyptian President Abdel-Fatteh El-Sisi to embark on steps destined to lead to peaceful relations between the moderate Arab regimes and Israel and exponentially to a resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. (Emphases added)

‘Debkafile’s sources in Washington and Jerusalem report exclusively that President Trump and Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman crafted this proposal at the White House on March 14, during the prince’s trip to Washington. It was the high point of their talks, although they also aired and reached agreement on the war crises in Syria and Yemen, as well as America’s next steps against Iran on both those fronts and in the Gulf region…

‘The text they agreed at this White House encounter calls for three steps to be launched without delay for promoting progress towards a historic accommodation between the Arab world and the Jewish state. 

‘…Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas furiously rejected the Saudi peace initiative when it was presented to him in Cairo by President El-Sisi in Cairo on March 20.

Developments over the weekend in Iranian and Russian activity behind the Hezbollah’s preparations to launch an attack against Israel’s northern borders with Lebanon and Syria, together with Israel’s strikes against sophisticated weapons factories and arsenals there, are building up to such an extent that Israel is now on military alert.

Yesterday’s sequential headlines on Koenig’s World Watch Daily read as follows:

  • Israel-Syria clash: with missile fire Assad is changing rules of the game
  • How Russia is turning Syria into a major naval base for nuclear warships
  • Syrian UN envoy: Putin sent messages to Israel its freedom to act in Syria is over

  • ‘Hezbollah is preparing for war’.

Ezekiel: Gog & Magog

The Gog and Magog war against Israel is described in chapters 38 and 39 of the Book of Ezekiel. The prophet received a word from the Lord to ‘set his face’ against Gog, leader of a coalition of evil nations north of Israel and which include Persia/Iran. Most Bible scholars regard those named peoples as coming from the land between and north of the Black and Caspian Seas. ie modern Russia. The Lord  has a purpose for this battle, viz:

“So I will make My holy name known in the midst of My people Israel. I will not let them profane My name anymore – Then the nations shall know that I am the LORD, the Holy One in Israel.” (Ezek 38:7 NKJV)

This battle also features in Revelation 20:7-10 as precursor to the battle of Armageddon and satan’s doom in the fiery lake.

As the ICEJ points out it was only on Saturday that a former official of Iran’s elite military leadership, the IRGC, bragged about attacking Israel (ie. Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps). The statement came amidst a large-scale test of Iran’s missiles and radar systems which was conducted in defiance of a stark warning from the US that such activities violate UN Security Council resolutions and would not be tolerated.

Invisible HandIt was watching that forces’ rehearsal in mid-1980s of storming Jerusalem that I was introduced (as a non-Christian) to the reality and accuracy of Bible prophecy!

Moreover, similar units of the Iraqi army were also involved AND at the height of the Iran-Iraq war – ie. whilst enemies!

ALSO, whilst a video of their combined manoeuvres was being broadcast in that BBC documentary it so happened I was thumbing through a secular book I’d been given that explained the whole background, as outlined in Welcome and Bio. Hence my keeping an eye on Iran.

Very important news, especially in view of what Revd John Kilpatrick kept hearing from the Lord: “Jordan, the land bordering Israel.” In case you missed it: in the lengthy midnight message for prophetic words for 2017 and beyond John states many Muslims will receive the Gospel message and the Lord will unexpectedly shake and redefine many Muslim nations and their leadership structures. Jordan itself will be visited and become a sanctuary country and an important instrument in His hand.

Further to last week’s breaking news, in another exclusive report Russia Freezes Syrian, Iranian Military Movements from Debkafile published yesterday, we gain an insight into the direct connection of the US travel ban on seven Muslim countries and Presidents Trump and Putin’s negotiations. VERY interesting ramifications.:
