  1. I was hitchhiking in Idaho in the past year and this mercenary picked me up and took me to Boise. He had been in the Army for 25 years. He was with some mercs (made up of American, British SAS, Northern Irish, Russian Spetsnaz) that were hired by the President of the Kurds to clean out eastern Syria of all ISIS fighters. The Kurds wanted a buffer zone between them and ISIS. He said that the Kurds would hold a defensive line somewhere in eastern Syria and then his mercs would kill all ISIS fighters within a mile of the Kurdish defensive line. When the ISIS fighters were taken out, the Kurds would move their defensive line west one more mile. It was quite the cleanup operation.

This guy had flown back to the States to go to his dad’s funeral. When he and the other mercs flew into the States, they were detained and debriefed by the CIA for three days. It was a very interesting conversation.
