Thankyou to all those who are continuing to pray over the current issues in the House of Commons concerning Brexit, but we recognise this is a time when God’s Spirit is moving in our nation, and we want to be available to move with Him. We  will continue to stand in the gap for all the ongoing negotiations, discussions and debates, and therefore will return to some of the previous declarations over Brexit, but these will be on a less frequent basis.:

GOVERNMENT

Today: As the EU Withdrawal Bill continues in the Commons, we declare this is the time for Your Kingdom to come in great measure in our nation –  for the Kingdom values of Righteousness, Justice, Truth, Mercy, Peace and Moral Law to be restored, and for the designs, patterns and plans held in Heaven for the future of our Nation to be fulfilled.

We thank You Lord for the ancient charters that shaped this Nation for centuries past, and in the Name of Jesus,  we decree and declare, our Parliament will model and release the wisdom, purpose and plans of the Kingdom for the next season.

We speak alignment with Your perfect will over every aspect and clause of the Withdrawal Bill debated today and we release Your clarity into the atmosphere of confusion over Parliament and all Brexit negotiations, over the hindrances, diversions and weariness and we declare:

“The purposes of God will be fulfilled.”

We lift Theresa May to You now, we speak a fresh mantle of authority and wisdom upon her, that the fullness and strength of the leadership You have put within her will be released.

SO BE IT!

GPS #12: King Alfred, a ‘Spiritual Magna Carta’ for Britain – and for the world!

AND NOW, my reader, may you be thoroughly blessed with what you’re about to read. May it resonate within your spirit when you understand how very timely what two sisters in the Lord on opposite sides of the Atlantic posted as coming from Him, whilst this post  was being drafted and edited in tandem by myself and Suzanne Ferrett over the course of the past week.

It’s like four ‘listening posts’ (Veronika in N. Ireland, Wanda in USA, Suzanne in Berks and me in East Hants) tuning into the same frequency of God’s GPS, or ‘global prophecy signals’! [PS. particularly pertinent that Wanda lives in Winchester, Virginia – named after our county city of Hampshire, Alfred the Great’s capital of ancient Wessex and of Saxon England.]

Part 3 of GPS#11 refers to my chat with Suzanne at February’s mentoring day. She told me about her watchman ministry based upon a spiritual version of the Magna Carta.

Upon writing that post, I began to understand how it not only relates directly to Liz Evan’s prophetic word on castles re-published after New Year, but also to my researches twenty years ago on the history of Reading Abbey when I learned about King Alfred’s battles against the Danes in the Thames Valley, and of his establishing Christian government in Saxon England.

Suzanne sent me a video clip of her talking about  the Great Charter’s origin lying centuries earlier in King Alfred’s Code of Law. She refers to his saying that, when building a kingdom, he’d build it upon Christian law, the Kingdom of God and the holy scriptures. The Cambridge Historical Encyclopedia of Gt Britain and Ireland reads (page 57):

‘The biographer of Alfred (871-899), the greatest of all Anglo-Saxon kings, tells us Alfred divided his court into three groups (each attending court by rota…) Since the  arrangement was lifted straight from King Solomon (3 Kings 5:13-14) it is also a nice example of how the Bible and Christianity provided an ideological framework for the development of the English state…Alfred drew a close parallel between himself and Moses in issuing his Laws.’

Therefore, I was delighted to receive an email from Helen H, living in Bath area, telling about her response to my remarks in GPS#11 part 3 (of 7):

“Last year or earlier, can’t recall to be honest…I felt God was directing me to king Alfred and especially his shield. I researched him and it. I was struck by his stand against the Vikings and his strategy of warfare that saved this nation. I, as have many others, have been praying for Brexit  and for our nation, but I’ve never heard anyone else or seen anyone with a God-given direction to king Alfred.”

What I don’t divulge in that blog, is that I saw the relevance of what Dr Sharon Stone had brought a few hours earlier, on the new empowerment of having “teeth of a threshing-sledge”, as also applying to intercessors who, like Suzanne, use the principles of decrees and declarations (see this blog’s Introduction to Prophecy).

It was my firm intention to blog about her work the week after our conversation, but the impact of that day’s teaching in confirming what I’d discerned for this blog at the New Year led to my focusing upon its goal of ‘Looking for signs of Jesus return’. Hence, the several posts about ‘watching’ and ‘signs’ in the first week of February, and setting up as main-menu hubs – notwithstanding the incoming ‘GPS’!!  Then, Suzanne emailed that she would be talking on ‘Watching’ that very weekend at the Lenchwood Christian Centre… ‘wotta God-incidence’!!

Suzanne’s ministry is ‘multi-faceted, teaching and equipping the church, bringing it into the new, training on how to use authority in prayer and being watchmen, thereby mixing the prophetic and intercessory’.  She has long-standing friendships with Dr Sharon and with Rachel Hickson – see her remarkable Heartcry For Change.

As a result of a strong dream from God, Rachel established the M25 PrayerNet in 1997, of which Suzanne was a sector leader as well as running a city and county-wide prayer network in Hertfordshire for 12 years. In 2008, she and husband Frank moved to Worcestershire and headed up ministry at the Lenchwood Christian Centre, where she continues to run seminars and ministry events, and pastored a local church whilst there.

In her updated introduction to ‘A Spiritual Magna Carta’ below, Suzanne refers to a God-incidental confirmation; ie. yet another ‘GPS’,  or even a ‘Bridge o’er the Pond’..:

A PASSION FOR GREAT BRITAIN

Passion for the Nation seeks to communicate and take hold of what I believe is a Kingdom opportunity, an appointed time, to see all that God desires released into our land and to transform our nation for the next season.

One aspect of implementing that vision is to release the sound of the Word of God as Declarations and Decrees over the nation every week, that have the power to change the atmosphere and to plant the heavens with God’s ‘now’ purposes that, as God shakes our nation in many ways, from Government and long-established institutions, to communities and homes, the Kingdom of God will be built in our land.

In July 2015, in the middle of a very prophetic season, God gave me a clear word:

  • It’s the day of the clash of Empires,
  • It’s the day of the clash of sounds,
  • It’s the day of the clash of spirits as they seek to take the ground,
  • The no-man’s land of England will become a battle-ground,
  • The forces are preparing,
  • The swords are being ground,
  • I’m calling to My church now to listen to the sound.

That word brought a focus and a clarity to some of the other things I was hearing and seeing, as I recognised this was about the battle which is in the spiritual realm over our land. For many people it is now very obvious, but in 2015 things were less obvious.

For a period of time, God had been speaking to me about the authority we carry in the place of prayer and how many in the church had relinquished that authority, or simply not understood – what I would now call the Ekklesia message.

During that season, my husband and I moved to Windsor and, in June 2015, initiated a convocation in partnership with others to celebrate the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta. However, we did not only want to look backwards but also to start to look forward to see what God would do in the future. I began to understand that, although the Magna Carta had shaped the nation for nearly 800 years, in the natural it had limited success and only lasted a short time in its original form. As the centuries passed those in power would bring it back into significance as they saw the need. As we celebrated the past and looked towards the future, I felt God showed me several things.

Firstly, as His people step up into all He has called us to be, just as the tabernacle on earth was only a shadow of the one in heaven, so what we have seen of Godly Government in the past can become only a shadow of what He will do in the future through His people ruling and reigning in prayer (Hebrews 8:5). Secondly, as we begin releasing His purposes into the atmosphere, no matter what is immediately visible, the declarations have the power to shape the nation for the season ahead, alongside more immediate changes.

A large proportion of the declarations and decrees are on national issues, such as media, the Monarchy or Government and Brexit, and are taken from two positions: firstly, from a Kingdom perspective and are essentially non-political, but also they are focused on praying the Word of God. This is also a time, though, when we are on the brink of a tremendous move of the Spirit, so some declarations focus on the call to pray that the promised Revival is released in our nation with all its fullness.

The Origins of a Spiritual Magna Carta

As I started to formulate the idea of sending out declarations over the nation, I sent a sample to Rachel who was ministering in America at that time. She responded with the comment that, as she was reading the declarations I’d sent, she had received an email from an Hawaiian friend living in Canada, who wrote that she knew someone who needed to write a Spiritual Magna Carta for England; or, in other terms, a blueprint for what it would look like if the fullness of the Kingdom of God came to our land (see below).

This is a season when God’s eyes are upon nations and He is releasing new revelation in great measure; that revelation needs to be imparted, received and established and so Passion for the Nation carries a number of aspects: most obviously, declaring the Kingdom over our land so that God’s design and will in all situations is established, but it also operates as a watchman/ intercessory network and carries an element of teaching and training.

A Spiritual Magna Carta: 

Written in the year 2016, decreed and declared by Your people across the United Kingdom in June of that year – to shape and establish the government and fabric of our nation for this generation and the generations to come.

That the Name of Jesus be exalted in the nation above any other name, the sovereign purpose for the UK fulfilled and the Kingdom of God in all its variety and fullness, become increasingly established …(click/tap to continue reading).

GPS#11 part 3: Dr Sharon Stone – new prophetic season for UK

Now, I get to use the graphic I almost used for the first part of my 11th instance of God’s GPS (Global Prophecy Signals) but for ‘AD’s reminder as I was about to publish it!  To my mind it’s symbolic of the positioning of comms satellites over and around the earth but immersed in an influx of spiritual power and information.

This series of GPS#11 is about an influx of events and information I received during the fortnight covering the end of January and first complete week of February, all of which are related to the increasing need to pray for Great Britain. The first part featured ‘AD’s email reminding the Church to humble ourselves, repent of our wrongdoing and pray for change in ourselves so our nation maybe blessed. The second brought a strong word of encouragement for the ecclesia in following the Lord’s will and bringing about His plans for Britain. [NB: my editorial haste led to a couple of minor amendments being made – especially that we “Arise and accept the commission…”, and spell-checker changes of  ‘thou’ to ‘though’.]

As intimated in my New Year’s Blessing to readers, its relation to the Word for 2018 Leisa delivered, the ‘resurrection’ of the Word on Castles and Praying for UK from Liz Evans, all plugging into Jane Hamon’s word about receiving a Prophet’s Reward, I’ve been mulling over the possibility of a new level of insight and authority in my writings as being akin to prophetic declarations. (Some ‘sabbatical’, LOL.)

This was confirmed by Dr Sharon Stone in how she prayed for delegates at the year’s first mentoring day on 3rd February that, however we start the year, our posture puts us in a place of alignment to succeed, to fulfill and to accomplish the themes Father has put before us. Before teaching on how to ‘Engage’ with Jesus she referred to what she received in January when the Lord spoke to her and said,

“Sharon, I have given you a good reputation in the land.” For this I thank Him. He’s given me favour with many, but now He’s saying, “NOW, let’s use it!”  

I felt like I was given TEETH…I mean the threshing instrument with teeth [Isaiah 41:15].

“You know when you’re pioneering a lot of the time you operate in a lot of protocol and become all things to all people so there might be understanding and agreement and wisdom, and you encourage and you persuade…and you do all those things and you change the label of the prophetic to fit in every place you go because you know that when they get a taste of it they won’t let go; because it’s their Lord, their Saviour, their Deliverer, their Healer, their Restorer, their Redeemer.

“And so when they recognise that’s THE voice they realise how contagious it is, then they realise they cannot live without the voice of God, without having that greater clarity on the inside. How can they fulfill their destiny without having a greater understanding of strategy? How can they possibly know what to do with their day without having a God that speaks to them as a time manager, even to help them fulfill everything that God’s called them to do?

“I’ve done all that and the Lord says, “Now let’s use that reputation!”

“Amen, I don’t believe that reputation solely rest upon my shoulders and so I pray right now for these (delegates):

“Father, we’re in a different prophetic season with teeth, not one with just protocol. Father this isn’t a season of political correctness!

“Father, this is a prophetic season of TEETH! And so where many of us have allowed diplomacy to fill our mouths – we thank You for that God – but I release right now the sharpness of Your sword; I release the sharpness of Your teeth to accomplish much in the name of Jesus; the sharpness of  the threshing instrument to be able to accomplish what needs to be accomplished.

“And so stand here and speak to the enemy and say: Where you have thought you could run alongside us and that we’d do nothing about you, we declare today that we put you on notice and command you: Back up and back off! – in the name of Jesus!”

Sharon and delegates then went into warfare mode!

Afterwards, I happened to chat with one of her associates, Suzanne Ferrett, with whom I’d shared what I’d ‘seen’ out at the Runnymede area a few years ago. That’s where the Magna Carta was signed in 1215 AD and now, in discussion, I learn about her prophetic intercessory ministry based upon a spiritual version of that Great Charter.

After starting to investigate further and whilst writing this I begin to see the ‘invisible jigsaw pieces’ coming together once again, because not only does this plug into the prophetic word on castles, but also into my researches on the history of Reading and the Thames Valley in the times of King Alfred the Great, and of his establishing a Christian government across ancient Wessex and Mercia – see Historical Research hub.

Prophetic ‘castle’ words and pictures now coming into play

Several readers have commented or emailed me on the timeliness of the word from Liz Evans in her Call to pray for our nation and establish God’s rule.

It is undated and thereby avoids attribution of dating or thinking its ‘dated’, or it’s gone stale. After all, the Lord looks over His word to ensure it achieves its purpose and thus doesn’t return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11). This word brought by Liz was received several years ago, but we’ll connect the ‘prophetic dots’ or ‘jigsaw pieces’ and examine them as being evidence from the Lord as to that word being timely for 2018.

Bringing prophetic pieces together

Many regulars will be familiar with my use of godly coincidences as a tool in receiving, checking and testing prophetic words and visions. The scriptural warrant for doing so is quite clear but new readers wishing to investigate further are directed to ‘The Protocol of Prophecies’ in An Introduction to Prophecy.

‘BRIDGE o’er POND’ – ALABAMA

At about five past five last Sunday afternoon I found myself nodding in agreement with pastor John Kilpatrick at Church of His Presence saying the Lord has been giving him prophetic words for each new year…but it was the actual date that made me nod:

“It started in 2009 when the Lord first gave me a prophetic word. We waited on the Lord for the New Year and when He left I just got a download…” (listen from 1:03:00 here)

I was pleased to get a confirmation from a pastor that had been the start of a prophetic process for him too. Yet for me it had been a ‘need’ to write on the prophetic. Moreover, I’d been unconscious to a specific thread that had been sewn throughout the years until recently, when another sudden shower of serendipity surrounded me with ‘jigsaw pieces’ – just like snowflakes lying around my feet!

This time, it gave me grounds to get out my old files from 2009-10.  And this wasn’t the first time buttons had been pressed to open up and relive my visual memory.

The first such ‘re-opening’ had come after debating an issue at Prophecy Today in mid-December. A confirmatory word brought by Brett Dewey had plugged so powerfully into one of mine in 2011 when I’d had a very vivid dream relating to Bill Johnson’s prophecy on that 3rd September being a turning point for the Kingdom of God in the UK. Brett’s dream in December 2017 showed that what ‘our’ dreams cover is now at the next stage of active unveiling – God-incidents Validate Three Prophetic Visions refers.

[Moreover, Brett’s earlier vision of a beach and wall has strong similarities to details in a personal prophecy given to me by Bath’s team in 2005 when we met Liz.]

‘BRIDGE o’er POND’ – ARIZONA

The second ‘re-opening’ of my visual memory came last week from Tony Puccio after I’d joked in his second England Ablaze about his ‘spiritual observatory’ in Tucson, Arizona. On Wednesday 3rd he kindly sent me a file with covering note simply saying,  ‘Thought this might interest you’ – Wot! – a HUGE understatement!

In view of a couple of dreams he’d had about an inevitable change of monarch, I’d already put him in touch with a group of intercessors, who’d kindly supplied some historical prophecies on the royal family. It included a transcript of Liz Evan’s Word for UK.

I replied to Tony: ‘Re your…attachment that MIGHT interest me Tony!! It MOST certainly does, as explained below – I’m extremely grateful you’ve kept me in the loop on this…as its re-connecting me and taking me ‘full circle’…

‘…we often went to Bath City Church as it’s very special to us since 2002 (we married 6 months later) and it’s where we connected into the prophetic and met Revd Dr Sharon Stone and Liz Evans very soon afterwards.  Liz’s website is endorsed by a close friend of ours.’

I copied Liz into that reply and, after greeting her, wrote, ‘Tony’s attachment of the ‘Call’ you brought and its reference to castles immediately opened up my visual memory to the time several years ago I told you of the angels on battlements I saw close by Bath City Church.  Think I may also have emailed you on what I’d sensed of Windsor Castle being a connection between heaven and earth and then sharing that with Sharon six years ago next month!  (I didn’t know she’d soon move there)

‘Only last weekend did we watch episode 5 of The Crown (on Netflix) and noted its very close attention to detail of the ‘secret ceremony’ of Her Majesty being anointed during her Coronation, and to which your article refers. (My Her Majesty’s 90th birthday also refers.)’

BATTLEMENTS o’er BATH

I find in my personal prophecies papers that I’d emailed Liz on 18 March 2010, after our attending BCC’s Partner’s Day and wanting to discuss that weekend: ‘Yesterday was most encouraging and exciting, especially in what you said about castles and Magna Carta for I believe it may be relevant to some things that popped up over the last year… it develops upon the vision that Sharon weighed at her school [in Bath] a few years ago.’

There wasn’t time at the next weekend school to discuss, so I followed up with the details of what I’d seen in 2009, as may be read in this scanned email:

Liz replied, “Fantastic, definitely worth weighing” but I don’t recall seeing a paper version of what she’d shared. However, someone had transcribed it from her ‘Prophecy in the UK’ session at 2010 Release Conference in Bristol with Bill Johnson (him again!) and Mark Stibbe. A copy of that came from Tony, but Liz kindly sent me her version for publication (see previous post).

INVISIBLE JIGSAW PIECES

After last Thursday’s frenetic to-and-fro of the above messages the following ‘God-incidental’ input soon burst upon the scene:

  1. I realised 7 years have elapsed since this Call was made at Release 2010.
  2. That evening’s meeting with our curate of Bramshott & Liphook Church discussed her pre-Alpha spirituality course. She will be teaching on ‘interior castles’ (per Carmelite St Teresa of Avilla)!!
  3. Thus, I told her of my day’s activity and past connection with ‘castles’ and she reminded me of her Bath connections: especially Paul Skelton’s H.O.T.S. and ministry in India. (Soon after launching this blog I helped Paul by publicising the issues HOTS Bath had with Advertising Standards Agency in 2012)
  4. Our vicar Valentine Inglis-Jones was previously curator at Holy Trinity, Coombe Down Bath, and will be with out there with Paul later this month!

So Sunday’s passing remark by pastor John in Daphne, Alabama, makes yet one more confirmatory ‘God-incidence’. On top of all that is what I’d sensed about Windsor Castle in 2011 and shared with Sharon in February 2012.

HEAVEN TOUCHING EARTH

In that month, at a conference in Torquay, I mentioned to Sharon that Nina and I had visited Windsor the previous year and I’d sensed a spiritual atmosphere there. As we spoke, an image of its Castle’s famous round tower came into mind. This was followed by the idea its crenellated battlements look like the teeth of a giant cogwheel, and this could fit into some sort of invisible socket where earth could get plugged into heaven!

It’s a little hard to explain but then the thought dropped into mind that such engagement would enable the heavenly kingdom to ‘wind up’ our earthly kingdom – or ‘queen-dom’ – for the Lord’s purposes (eg. revival) – rather like putting a key into and winding up a clockwork toy. [Paws 4 Thought – a Special Town in the Thames Valley refers.]

There’s other observations I could make but for now let’s note Liz’s emphasis is reiterated by Suzanne Payne editor of UK Prophetic Words (emphasis added),

“Richard…it is a key time for this word!

Now, it is particularly significant that 8 years have passed since Liz published the full word and call to Christians to defend our Nation and establish God’s rule. In biblical symbolism 8 represents a new beginning, a new order or creation. In the account of creation God created the earth and heavens in 6 days and rested from that labour on the 7th. So the whole creation as a universal, harmonious corporate entity had its first ‘working day’ on the 8th day! (See next post for unexpected confirmation on ‘8’!)

Also, I’d had the distinct impression of 2018 being a year of going up a level, like in spiraling up after having gone around full circle ie as in a 7-year cycle. Personally, I wanted to move into the more restful 7th year of this blog’s cycle (as in my New Year thanks) yet have a strong sense of moving into a new level – and most astonished to get an award!

A most intriguing closing thought: I’d considered re-publishing my first New Year’s blog  Points to Ponder 2011-12 on its 6th anniversary. I didn’t do so yet its subject of Biblical cycles is repeated a couple of paragraphs back – and I sure didn’t plan it that way!

A Prophetic Word and Call to Pray for our Nation

An unusual turn of circumstances that can only be of the Lord have drawn the following document to my attention. I invite readers’ prayerful weighing of and intercession based upon this valuable word of prophetic encouragement and direction from Liz Evans. (An account of those ‘God-incidents’ will follow.)

I’m grateful for her kind permission to publish and, as Liz writes, “The more prayer the better”. I’ve copied/pasted it direct from the email to retain her emphases (hence the Times Roman – depending on your browser! – rather than usual sans-serif typeface and minimal editing).:

Liz Evans’ Word for UK – Call for Christians to pray for the Nation 

 

Sharon Stone was chatting to Liz in the green-room at a conference and asked her, “I believe God has given you a high-level Word for the UK about castles?” Liz asked her how she knew, and Sharon replied that God had told her about it.

 

Liz went on to tell Sharon what God had been showing her:

“God is doing a work of restoration in His church at the moment. He is restoring the church to Himself in intimacy and commitment, He is restoring the church to one another in unity, and He is restoring authority to the church. 

What is authority? Authority is the spiritual right and power to enforce His Kingdom rule to the world and in our lives.

 

God gave me a picture. In this picture I was having balls thrown at my head and I was being knocked over. And then quickly the picture changed. I was learning to duck and dive, and the enemy was throwing balls at me, but none of them were hitting me because I was getting wiser. But then God showed me the 3rd picture. And in the 3rd picture I had the ball. And it was now you run. That’s where the church is in this season. This is key for where we are as a nation. Some of you have been downtrodden and things have come against you in your lives but you’ve got more mature, you’ve learned how to walk in spite of those things and in spite of the things that have been happening in our nation. But you see in this season God is giving us the ball, and He’s expecting us to do something with the authority that He is giving us.

 

Where are we as a nation, and what does He want us to do with that authority? I want to tell you a story of our nation. In the 11th century, 1066, the Normans came over and they conquered the country and they put the whole of the country under King William – William the conqueror. And in order to establish and perpetuate their rule, they embarked on a series of castle building. Please note that at this point they already had authority in the land. It was theirs. But they built these castles to do certain things. They were a place of presence in the area, they were visible, so they made a statement. And they proclaimed the rule of the King and defended the land that had been given to them.  They were places of watch, seeing what the enemy was doing, seeing what was happening; and they sorted it out, they brought safety and they enforced his rule. They enforced the rule of the kingdom.

 A place of presence. A place to bring rule and order, and enforce the rule of the King, that’s justice in the land. And a place of watch, a place of prayer. What does that sound like to you? That is our remit as the church of Christ. To be the castles in the nation. This is the function of the church. You might say well that’s a nice parallel Liz, it kind of works, but why is that pertinent to the Word for the UK at the moment, at this Kairos time in our nation? Because you know that a Kairos time is ‘now’ [emphasis RB]. It’s a window of time. It’s not a Chronos time, which is on-going.

We’re at a key time. It passes. And I need to tell you that, while I’m being calm and considered because I want to communicate this to you, inside me there is a cry and I want to be on my knees before God saying ‘O God, let us not miss this time as your people because it will not come again’. And the issue of timing is key. You know, there are many prophetic people here. Timing and application are what makes a prophecy, after interpretation, effective. We don’t just want to get the revelation; we want to bring forth the fruit that God intended.

 

Now the function of a castle took on a particular importance at a certain time in the nation. And this is where we are. When King William was getting older, castle building became a key strategy because when a monarch dies, it’s a key time, it’s ripe, for the rule of the land, of the occupying force, to be challenged. It’s a vulnerable time. It needs covering. So their castle building increased to be a presence and impose rule. You know what’s coming. Since receiving this Word I’ve been hearing from God and then prophetic voices around the kingdom and the world, in totally different streams of the church, talking about the Queen. And I’ve realised that they’re picking up on it too. One of the prophets I was talking to at lunchtime, one of the speakers in the speakers’ lounge said; not knowing what I was going to bring or even that I was going to bring this this afternoon;

Hey Liz I had a vision, I had a vision that the Queen was lying in state, she’d died, and then this man came and stood next to me and he said this: “The mantle of authority and peace that the Queen has carried since the moment she had hands laid on her as Queen, lifted when she stopped breathing.” And things are about to change. This same person had friends who lost a child. And the Queen wrote to them, and she said can I meet you in a hotel? And this isn’t a vision, this is true. And she went to them and she wept with them and she knelt with them and she prayed. And they said the presence of God that came while the Queen was praying with them was immense. You see, she’s carrying something. A mantle of authority, and peace.

 

Do you remember our 3 balls picture? I have to tell you that the authority ball is about to be passed. And this is a Kairos time in our nation. It’s a time when the rule of the occupying force of the land will be challenged. So our castle building needs to increase, to be a presence, and impose the rule of the Kingdom. And that has great benefits to us. The places of authority were also places of provision. When we bring order and peace to our nation and into our nation from heaven we benefit. Our children and our loved ones prosper. But I have to tell you that we have a window of time, a Kairos, to pray.

 

And He is restoring the authority to the church. There’s a unity about this prayer movement. As we come together and pray for our nation at this time. You see the time of the intercessors being isolated is being drawn to a close. They’re being drawn into the castle to bring power and to enhance rule. Because He is restoring the church to one another.

 

And God kept speaking to me about what was happening historically. It’s interesting to me that just after the Normans took over, when the castles were being raised up, the Magna Carta was written. When God was talking to me about this, this fell out of the drawer. And it happens to be a piece of the Magna Carta. And it says this, ‘The English church shall be free, with her rights and liberties unchanged’. And I don’t know if you’ve noticed but recently the freedoms of the church, especially around who they employ, what they believe and what they say, have been in question. Even in minute detail in believers lives. Whether you can wear a cross to work. The rights and liberties of the church were set in place in this nation. But, they need a watch.

And in the Magna Carta I noticed another sentence. ‘No free man shall be imprisoned without a proper trial by jury.’ What’s that? Justice. And that one has very real challenges in a time of terrorism and immigration. And our government needs wisdom. 

What were the castles? A place of watch. And a place of rule, a place where we pray for these things.

 

And then I had a dream, and it terrified me. It’s a dream which tells of a time yet to come. And in the dream I found myself standing on a pavement and there were people close, and then a black car came by. And there was a coffin in the car, and the car was covered in flowers. And I realised this dream looked forward to a time when the Queen’s rule was passing. In the dream it had happened, and we didn’t pray. I was terrified. I have to tell you that the authority ball will be passed. And God is raising up castles all over the land to defend the country. To establish His presence, His rule, and bring order in His Kingdom, to earth.

 

And there will be princes in this nation, men and women that God is raising up into a place of authority in government, in industry, government, education and in the church to take a place with God, Israel. He’s putting a name upon you of rule for this nation. Mordecai said to Esther ‘for such a time as this’. And there’s also a company of believers who are going to take their places on the walls behind those men, and pick up the watch for our nation. Esther prayed and fasted when she was in trouble. The Jews prayed and fasted. And this is what it says in Esther 8 v 11. The Kings granted to the Jews in every city the right to assemble and protect themselves. Of course I’m not talking about people. We battle not against people. We battle against principalities and powers of this dark age. 

 

The castles are a place of presence. What does it say in the Psalms? ‘God is present in the company of the righteous’. And you’ve been raised for such a time as this my friends. The ball will be passed. But we have a window.

 

And I have to tell you that application of Words is vital and if the soil doesn’t receive and respond to this Word there will be no fruit. And I’m not going to tell you who they are but the prophet at lunchtime told me what the fruit would be if we don’t pick up this Word and fight with it. But I’m looking here for good soil. Soil that produces a crop. 30% 60% or even 100%. Because our nation depends on it. Let me tell you, are we going to have 30% of our nation left to us, 60% of our nation left to us, or 100%? 

And this is a ‘masa’ Word; it’s an intercession Word. The Bible talks about the watchman of Israel as dogs that didn’t bark, well the watchman of the church are barking. All over this nation. And we’re beginning to hear it. And we need the watch and the prayer to come forth in response to that. Because we will never have such a strong position in this nation again if we don’t. This is vital. We’ve got to hold the land that we’ve been given. Because it’s our watch. So who’s going to carry that ball in prayer? So that the authority ball is passed well and it’s not dropped? If you’re a leader, we’re going to commission you that you go and call people together for prayer.

 

And He also told me that we were to prayer-walk and proclaim and that the authority of God comes where our feet tread. And I want you to understand your authority because He is the King and we are bringing the declaration that He is the King of all the earth. And  that He is the King of the nation for evermore. There will be no break in His Kingship. He has given it to us and we will hold it. The time of the priests of God to rule is arising because His Kingdom is coming. It’s time for the sons. And it’s time to anoint the priests. Leaders who will take up the watch of God. The Bible says that creation is longing for the sons of God to be revealed.”

Interesting reflection of UK-US connection – and Big Ben

Walking home with today’s Daily Telegraph  in hand I spotted this ‘stop-press’ News Briefing down its left-hand side.

Instantly, I’m amused at how the linkage in our spiritual and political lives, as blogged earlier, is now showing synchronicity in the troubles our Prime Minister and the US President are both having with their own people, not the public.

We can discern the ‘devil’ in the detail – and it’s being especially provocative over the essence of our ‘Englishness’ – the law of the land based upon Magna Carta versus European Court of Justice.

Ours presumes ‘innocent until proven guilty’ out of which grew a globally-championed Common Law.  But European-Napoleonic law is different, as Dave Chapman highlights in his briefing paper EU – There is an Alternative.

Moreover, in my musing over the possibility of that devil doing a double-trial run in both the established church and our secular government for the purpose of testing out if it could circumvent the fulfillment of prophetic scripture, I cited two Parliamentarians as its unwitting ‘stooges’. One of these is Speaker of the House of Commons John Bercow, whom I saw almost trip over himself to grovel at Obama during his state visit!

He is the one responsible for silencing Big Ben!

A previous project manager and a director of the company maintaining the clock’s functioning have attested there’s no need whatsoever to stop it chiming during any building works. A Telegraph editorial Speaker Bercow is mistaken to play games with Big Ben comments:

‘…if the two Parliamentary committees whose job is to oversee the administration of the Palace of Westminster were unaware of the full implications of the work, who took it upon themselves to proceed?

‘Once again the finger points to Speaker Bercow, who is apparently digging in his heels and insisting that the plan must go ahead. It is extraordinary that the ringing of Big Ben is turning into a power battle between the Speaker and his critics in the Commons. This is something that could be sorted out with a modicum of common sense and a willingness to compromise. The nation waits to see whether Mr Bercow possesses the former or is capable of the latter, as befits the holder of his great office.’

Therefore, it will be astonishing if and when something supernatural happens with our iconic clock to gain the world’s attention, as claimed by Charles Shamp in what he’d heard from the Lord (Keep your eyes on Big Ben). OR, perhaps that stoppage is part of what is meant…:

“My eye is upon this land and my hand upon the nation’s time, a kairos moment is about to come! I will cause a sign to come from Big Ben that will mark the moment that I have changed the time and season for the nation of England and the city of London. Everything will stop and people will turn to see and hear. Tell my people to mark the moment when it comes to pass for it will be sign of great change in the land.”

Let’s pray there will be a specific action that’s unmistakably of our Almighty God.

Thoughts & prayer points on US Constitution and Election

As with the neutral stance of his contributions to my early posts on the EU Referendum, David Chapman offers his thoughts for our information and prayers. He lives in the UK and to my knowledge isn’t an American citizen. Dave’s post is timely – prophetic even – in view of deep concerns over a constitutional crisis in the event of a Clinton victory, (as in last post’s link).:

THE AMERICAN ELECTION

I am sure you appreciate my thoughts are at best very incomplete, but whilst doing very little ‘work reading’ during this last month’s stay in New Zealand, I did carefully read the American Constitution, called the “Constitution of the United States”, and also a book out of Morning Star Ministries (Rick Joyner) by Karla Perry – ‘Back to the Future’. With some of my own thoughts also, these are some of the findings. I hope they may be useful in considering and praying for the American Presidential Election due on 8th November.

The American Constitution

This is the opening Statement, word for word, of their Constitution and, therefore, it does not include the 7 Articles (which are just 9 pages laying out essentially how Governing is to operate, including its structure); nor does it include The Amendments, (which are 27, and just 7 pages), though some of these – all of these of course if you are American! – seem particularly vital.

“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

Lets dissect this a little.:

1. “We the people”…..

This clarifies WHO are establishing, and seeking to abide by, the Constitution. The Constitution of the United States lies in the hands of all those who are Americans.
This simple but profound statement found its roots in the democratic freedoms earned on British soil.
Whilst this provides great freedoms for its citizens, it clearly also lays great responsibility in the hands of each of those citizens. Only an individual vote ‘for someone, or for another’ engages with that responsibility.

2. to “establish Justice”

Wow! …. that is its first priority of purpose and responsibility.
Noun: justice; plural noun: justices
1. just behaviour or treatment.
“a concern for justice, peace, and genuine respect for people”.
In practice this means:-
fairness, justness, fair play, fair-mindedness, equity, equitableness, even-handedness, egalitarianism, impartiality, impartialness, lack of bias, objectivity, neutrality, disinterestedness, lack of prejudice, open-mindedness, non-partisanship; honour, uprightness, decency, integrity, probity, honesty, righteousness, ethics, morals, morality, virtue, principle, right-mindedness, propriety, scrupulousness, trustworthiness, incorruptibility.
“ideas of social justice”
validity, justification, soundness, well-foundedness, legitimacy, legitimateness, reasonableness. (I wish to acknowledge an internet definition here – no web ref available though).

These Bible-based ethics, values and morals lie at the heart of their Constitution.
This is all to be carried out under officially appointed administrators of the Law, their judges, magistrates, and the people, using a similar Jury make-up to our own.

3. to “insure domestic Tranquility”

I am sure we would use the word “peace” to interpret this. That is, peace within their borders, including their homes, cities and communities.

Therefore, there lies with THEM a responsibility to ensure (our English word!) best conditions internally – within the Nation that is – for the benefit of the whole Nation to live at peace.

4. to “provide for the common defense”

It is THEIR responsibility, under their form of Government, to provide the necessary defence of and for their Country against attack from outside or within. That’s pretty plain and simple.

It will include by military means through policing at home, and also by monitoring its own borders.

5. to “promote the general welfare”

That is, by making decisions as well as by policy, through educating and training by all means possible to ensure the care and development of all its citizens.

6. “and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity”

That is, to ensure all the results (blessings that come from) of liberty for the present and future generations.

Maintaining liberty is a cause not to be taken lightly.

In our case this was won at national level through the Civil War (1642 to 1651), though the Magna Carta (June 1215) had stated our freedoms centuries before, and in their case also through Civil War (1861 to 1865), though this Constitution was made and signed in September of 1787.

It is worth reiterating that ALL of these freedoms and responsibilities issue out of Bible-based, and understood, principles and practice.

The Candidates for this Election

Well, their main two parties – Republican and Democrats – have thrown up their choices. For the Democrats stands Mrs Hillary Clinton. She is aged 69 before the end of this October, while Donald Trump, the Republican candidate, is already aged 70. That’s the easiest detail regarding them both to record!

Mrs Clinton has served in the front line of American politics for longer than she would like to think, including at her husband’s side (?) during his own political career and Presidency which ran from January 1993 – January 2001.

Meanwhile Mr Trump ran his father’s business from 1971, but his ’empire’ is now run largely by his children. He does have a Bachelor’s degree in economics, but this has not always protected him against some business failures. Nevertheless the 72-storey ‘Trump Tower’, completed in 2001, sits across from the United Nations’ main building in New York.

If we go by the media coverage, or their publicized behaviour, before and during this Election campaign, perhaps we wonder how on earth either candidate could possibly be the forthcoming President of the United States! How much of it all is true we cannot tell. Be that as it may, that is the choice before the American people.

The Real Choice for Americans

What really lies before all Americans at this time, is ‘which candidate is more likely to honour the key parts of the Constitution’? That to me is the real question. That is so difficult to decide given the coverage we have had. However, that is how we intend to be praying for this vital appointment, for the next leader of the free world!

Only God knows which one of these two is the best for that purpose, and therefore of His will – since it was His doing that led to the establishment of this great and powerful Nation several centuries ago along the lines outlined in their Constitution.

That Constitution, over the centuries since its inception, has overseen their development and growth internally – to such an extent that only just over a third of Americans see the point in having a passport!– as well as externally taking their place at the top of world influence, especially during this last century in so many fields, including militarily, and to their credit grew to become the greatest (Christian) missionary sending and supporting Nation on earth.

I believe, therefore, this is the most vital Election in the US for many, many years, even decades.

Our Response.:

It could be easy to close our eyes to the whole thing ‘across the pond’! But the reality for us is that we would not have won the First World War without their help, their military assistance, involvement, and financial support, neither indeed would we have won the Second World War.

Despite their President’s more recent threat to “place us at the back of the queue!” if we left the EU, there is no doubt they remain our greatest ally in peacetime, or in war, having come from the same and similar roots as our own. We share a love for liberty and freedoms, established in each Nation, at great cost, and all under Bible-based principles and behavior.

We would be foolish indeed to remove ourselves from the responsibility to pray earnestly for this great nation at this time. Our future in our nation is intertwined with theirs, and certainly will be during and after our present Brexit process.

Therefore for us, the best way we know how to pray for them is along the lines of :-

“Lord, would You cause the candidate to be elected whose heart is closest to honouring the Constitution of the United States, at this time.

“Would you defeat the forces of evil that seek to destroy this great missionary sending Nation, restore its Bible-based freedoms and liberties, lead them to lift up your name in the years to come, and to serve your purposes at home and abroad.

“Your kingdom come in this vital part of the world, in Jesus mighty name, amen”.

Safe to stay in EU? Crucial tips from a 1975 ‘Yes’ voter to first time and floating voters

The safety issue to which I will refer is not one of security from terrorism..:

Western Europe

“Been there, done that and got the tee-shirt!”

So, a couple of crucial tips are offered from someone who voted ‘Yes’ to joining Europe in the 1975 referendum. They may help today’s floating and first time voters’ decisions for this week’s important historic date.

As a young man I voted for membership in 1975 as being a concrete way for nations to move away from conflict and wars and head towards worldwide peace, harmony and free trading. It was an idealism born out of the 1960s hippy era, opposition to the Vietnam war and real threats of a MAD (Mutually Assured Destruction) nuclear war. I saw it as a way of moving out of a ‘fuddy duddy’ national life under outmoded religious ideals and into much better New Age visions of an evolved global humanity.

I’m a Euro-phile

Also, I’m very fond of Europe and its heritage and loved motoring with my parents through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Greece and Yugoslavia. I well recall after a long hot day’s drive from Venice, finding ourselves away from civilisation at sunset and wanting somewhere to stay. So we had to keep driving but got halted out in ‘nowhere’ at the Yugoslav border. Behind the armed guards a large black-and-white photo of Marshal Tito frowned at us. Our visas were in order so we proceeded but it was eerie travelling along deserted roads in the pitch-black. We stopped in the quiet port of Rijecka and, speaking in his broken German learned as a POW, father managed to find us a room in someone’s apartment. Another year on and a farmer somewhere outside Skopje let us park and sleep in his barn! (This was all before that Balkan state was fully open to tourism.)

So my adult life has been spent in some degree of relationship with Europe – and my civil service career drew to a close in an EU-related department! So my opinion is born out of personal experience.

1st Real Issue – Legality

The real issue is NOT one of economics of migration but that of sovereignty and law – and there is a critical difference of definition between that of the UK and of EU. This is outlined in one of this blog’s popular posts: The EU – An Alternative. Upon receiving the draft I noted the headlines about Justice Secretary Michael Gove speaking out against the ‘rogue’ European Court because of its deep bias against common-sense requirements of our national protection.

In fact, the ‘retro’-EU takes Britain back to pre-Medieval times, if not the Dark Ages! About a year ago I wrote several posts on Magna Carta’s 800th anniversary and the profound effect of ‘no tax without representation’ upon the later political and legal development of Parliament – the ‘talking shop’ of nation-wide land-owners and civic leaders. And they even executed a monarch who thought he was above them in closing down Parliament!

Internationally respected financial editor Ambrose Evans-Pritchard decided after careful consideration to vote for leaving the EU on the same grounds as me. He soundly makes the case in depth at Brexit vote is about the supremacy of Parliament, nothing else…

2nd Real Issue – Lies

Another of my main objections is that Britain was deceived about the EEC, as well as the EEC/EU’s track record over the past 40 years.

One of my first blogs on the Referendum covered the deception and negotiating Prime Minister’s Ted Heath’s subsequent admission of dishonesty over our entry!

Once we’d said ‘Yes’ to joining the Common Market the nation was outraged to discover the price we had to pay was the destruction of our fishing industry by EEC’s Common Fisheries Policy.

Furthermore, I read this weekend that Christopher Brooker refers to the CFP as the EU’s most catastrophic folly in view of what his investigations unearthed (emphases added),

‘What made this tragic shambles even more painful was to discover [in 2001] a hitherto secret document showing that in 1971 the Brussels Council of Ministers had been made well aware by its own lawyers that there was nothing in the Treaty of Rome that could authorise any aspect of the CFP. The whole system was thus wholly illegal (and was only much later craftily legitimised by the Treaty of Maastricht).’

Boris Johnson refers to today’s version of this policy in his latest Telegraph op-ed urging voters to seize the opportunity of taking back our own destiny – and I firmly believe that would accord with the Lord’s desires too. He writes,

‘If we stay we will find our global influence and weight not enhanced, but diminished – as the EU ruthlessly cuckoos us aside from our seat [our rightful place] on international bodies, from the IMF or and the UN to the WTO to even the North Atlantic Fisheries Management Boards, which determines the fate of fish in so much of our waters. Iceland has a seat; Norway has a seat; the Faroe islands have a seat. The UK is represented by the Commission’ [ie. not ourselves: RB].

That’s just one very fundamental example of how the EEC has morphed into something outrageously unacceptable and, as seen when the EU Council’s chief Donald Tusk gave the game away (here), is clearly aiming for complete ‘utopian’, totalitarian power.

SO, OUR FUTURE CANNOT BE SAFE IN THE UNTRUSTWORTHY EU – so why stay?

And if you’re a biblically informed Christian you will be surprised at the description of the European Project given by another past British Prime Minister who was well acquainted with it. Hopefully (internet connection permitting) I will soon blog about that…

EU Referendum – an update

A quick note to say this blog’s hub EU In God’s Face has been updated to include an informative guide by Dave Chapman – There Is An Alternative.

This paper provides an introductory background to the European trading, political and financial union, its history and proposed development, as well as the UK’s involvement. The outline of differences between UK and European legal systems are personally helpful in view of last year’s posts on the 8th Centennial of the Magna Carta.

As well as providing links to earlier posts on the EU Referendum the hub also has some to a few interesting opinions. For example, author Frederick Forsyth speaks of “Government by Deception” and quotes a possibly questionable summation of ‘Father of Europe’ Jean Monnet’s intention as:

“Europe’s nations should be guided towards the super state, without their people understanding what is happening. This can be accomplished by successive steps, each disguised as having an economic purpose, but which will eventually and irreversibly lead to Federation.”

Blogger ‘Archbishop Cranmer’ concludes his piece on former Archbishop of Canterbury Lord Carey’s opinion of Brexit as being “The Refrain of Freedom” with:

“The European Union is an anti-democratic, centralised, unreformable, oligarchic bureaucratic beast bent on total domination. It is prepared to lose souls to save face. The people of God yearn for a better way, another treaty, a different mission of national discovery and self-confidence. We can meet together, network, dialogue, support and befriend our European neighbours as we boldly bear witness as followers of Christ. Or we can be absorbed, monitored, re-educated, relativised, patronised and ignored as the Euro-Beast marches on to ever closer union and democratic damnation. That is the choice we face. Thank God that Lord Carey sounds a clear note against the injustice, humiliation, pain and bitter resentment of remaining in a Godless sodality of gnashing teeth.”

Whether or not David Cameron knew what he was letting himself in for when he appeared as a guest on The Late Show with David Letterman in 2012 is anyone’s guess. As anyone who watched the interview or subsequently read about it will know, there was at least one topic of conversation that he was not expecting to come up. Letterman was keen to see if he embarrass his guest by quizzing him on the history the country he was Prime Minister of, and much to the delight of the audience, he succeeded. When asked what the Latin name of the most famous document in British history – the ‘Magna Carta’ – meant in English, Mr Cameron could not muster an answer. Probably better than his lousy guess at who composed ‘Rule Britannia’ (“Edward Elgar”), but enough for many people in Britain to let out a great sigh, or to mumble something mocking about his Eton…

Magna Carta Unravelled – a new book

Regarding the previous posts on the 8th centenary of Magna Carta, anyone interested in its relevance in the suppression of freedom today may like to know about a recent book, Magna Carta Unravelled.

Only this past fortnight we have an example of the importance of this matter. A former lawyer, now Principal of Oak Hill Theological College in London, has stated the PM’s proposals for new “Extremism Disruption Orders” could be a “disaster area” for people from all mainstream religions, and none. In some settings, traditional Christian teaching could effectively be made a criminal offence!

No doubt Rev Dr Mike Ovey’s previous parliamentary experience drafting anti-terrorism legislation relating to the IRA has given him solid grounds for his deep reservations on this issue. (See Telegraph religious affairs editor John Bingham’s latest – published on Magna Carta’s anniversary – and earlier posts.)

Magna Carta’s 8th centenary: a better perspective

Rather than negating a conclusion built upon the meaning of number 8 in the last post, correcting a maths mistake gives some credence to my conjecture.

In On 800th anniversary of Magna Carta I made a mistake over the passage of time that had elapsed and thank RJ Dawson for correcting me. (He’s author of Real Christianity, the Nature of the Church.)

In fact, this adjustment points us towards a better perspective on man-made laws and the related application of biblical numbers.

[Note: I’m not considering or advocating any unscriptural notions on numbers. Having been deeply involved in New Age I’m well aware of the differences between the Bible’s use of numbers and the claims of numerology.]

That post stated last Monday starts the 8th century since Magna Carta’s declaration in 1215 AD, whereas we’re now in its 9th century. After referring to the Bible’s meaning of number 8 I considered how that may give significance to some recent events.

That count was an elementary error against which I’d quickly checked, yet nevertheless I made the sort of mistake I’ve known about since school. When blogging about cycles it’s often been at the back of my mind. So I’ve given myself a dressing down!  Criticism that it’s simply ‘confirmation bias’ (ie. wanting to see a related result) is understandable. It’s plausible that desiring things to tie neatly together would lead to noticing this 800th anniversary falls at a time of perceived changes in the church and society.

However, it’s more likely the issue arose because this week’s been busily interspersed with three half days’ of travelling, replying to correspondence and some meetings – not conducive to continuity or clarity in lengthy posts. Even so, we learn something even more pertinent through that maths mistake.

Let me explain: the first year of life isn’t completed until 12 months have passed. On the anniversary of baby’s birth (or something’s start) the person/thing is one year old – 1st birthday. So every number has two main uses, as an ‘integer’ or whole number counted in its own right, or else as an ‘ordinal’ having a position in a series (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.).

Thus, as regards the Magna Carta being 800 years old last Monday, its 800th year was from 16th June 2014 to 15th June 2015. Its first century was from 1215 to 1315 and so its 8×100 years or 8th century was 1915 to 2015. So we’re now in its 9th century. It’s the same reason for referring to 2015 as being in 21st and not 20th Century.

In correcting that post two points pop-up to bring a new perspective:

  • number 8’s meaning relating to centuries is more clearly demonstrated, and
  • the meaning of the newly started 9th 100-year cycle is even more significant!

The meaning of 9

Monday 15th June 2015 started the 9th century since the issue in 1215 of Magna Carta. Number ‘9’ appears 7×7 times in the Bible and, being symbolic of divine completeness,  it conveys the meaning of finality and judgement.

During Jesus’ crucifixion ‘darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour’ (Luke 21:44). The Bible Study Site states He died at the 9th hour to make the way of salvation open to everybody. Also, Yom Kippur (Jewish Day of Atonement, in Sept-Oct) is the only one of God’s annual feast days of worship that requires believers to fast for one day. Considered by many Jews to be the holiest of the year, this special day begins at sunset on the 9th day of the seventh Hebrew month Tishri (Lev 23:32).

On the Hebrew Calendar, the total destruction of Jerusalem’s temple began on 9th Ab (July-August). Also on this day, the second temple (ie. Herod’s temple) was burned to the ground by the Romans in 70 AD. It continues to be regarded as a day of tragedy.

Also, according to Galatians 5:22 there are nine fruits of the Holy Spirit, which manifest as positive character traits.

9th cycle of centuries

Thus, the 9th cycle of 100 years is likely to be significant for finality and judgement. As for Britain, the following changes noted in this blog may be preparatory for drawing this Age to a close with the return of Jesus Christ:

    • improving spiritual atmosphere noted by visiting Christian leaders,
    • many prophetic words of promise delivered/declared over these lands,
    • increasing activity of the Holy Spirit within the British Isles.

If, as we believe, the Lord was acting behind the scenes at the general election, we can expect this to continue in the political realm and, hopefully, to bless this nation and its leaders with a real return to righteousness. This doesn’t negate the need to pray such change through to manifestation (Rev Dr Stone’s remarks at #4 of my post refer).

We’d expect this meaning of ‘9’ as ‘finality’ would incorporate the shaking and implicit, consequential exposure prophesied in Hebrews 12:26. As regards man-made laws it’s very pertinent to note that Britain’s judiciary and government offices have been accused of not having clean hands – ie. corruption!

Based upon findings reported by World Justice Project and Transparency International,  The Commentator announced last Saturday in Shame and disgrace: UK 2nd tier nation on law, corruption:

We don’t even make the top 10, despite what we were all brought up to believe, in either the corruption or rule of law indices put out recently by the leading analytical organisations in the world. In some respects, the current reality is truly appalling.

By the close of that 8th century British law introduced a change to marriage contrary to the purpose defined by God.  As the start of the 9th century since Magna Carta may be likened unto ‘as in the Days of Noah and Lot’, as foretold by Jesus, let’s look out for the consequential outcome of this legislative defiance.

According to the above biblical meaning of 9 we have additional grounds upon which to expect the Lord to bring about finality and judgement.

Further observations

The meaning of 8

Biblically ‘8’ signifies a new beginning, as in Genesis with the second week of creation continuing after the Almighty rested for a day, and in the new creation after the Flood with the survival of only 8 persons. There are not a few other significant references to that number – especially Jesus’ name in Greek – as in The Bible Study Site.

8th cycle of centuries: 1915 -2015

History shows how that symbolism of a refreshing, new beginning applies in respect of man-made law to the 8th cycle of 100 years since Magna Carta.

That ‘century’ began on 16th June 1915 at a time when women were not permitted to vote or to stand in elections for parliament in Britain even though our colonies of New Zealand and then Australia already had women’s suffrage since the turn of 19th/20th Century!  Here, the Women’s Social and Political Union, or ‘Suffragettes’ as they were known, was founded in October 1903 by Mrs Emmeline Pankhurst and took a radical, militant approach to their gaining the right to vote because previous debate had failed.

The Great War, however, changed British perceptions of women when the government issued an urgent appeal for women to serve their country by signing up for vital work in agriculture, nursing, industry, especially in munitions factories, by setting up a Register of Women for War Service in March 1915.

This freed up more men for military service and was welcomed by the Suffragettes. Two years later the PM Lloyd George stated a bill to enfranchise women over the ago of 30 years would be introduced and in that June the House of Commons voted by a huge majority to give wives of that age the vote.

We should note that negotiations were also well under way for issuing the Balfour Declaration on 9th November 1917. This gave British support to the establishment of a permanent Jewish national homeland in Palestine after the fall of the Ottoman Empire.

Other Magna Carta centennials

The following centennials from my Pocket Book of Dates & Events by David Herman are noteworthy as regards the English crown and law:

  • 1415 – Henry V revives English claim to French throne, invades France and defeats French at Agincourt.
  • (1517 Martin Luther issues his 95 Theses challenging Roman Church).
  • 1715 – Jacobite rising in Scotland in support of son of James II.
  • 1815 – Battle of Waterloo: French army under ex-Emperor Napoleon defeated by allied British, Prussian and Dutch armies. Also this year, Prussian and Austrian monarchies restored, German Confederation established and Kingdom of Netherlands unites Belgium and Holland.

Today marks 200th anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo!

On 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta – or should it be 1,400th?

Today marks the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta to which King John affixed his seal under the demands of his barons in order to limit his regal powers. There’s more I want to tell about this than was briefly covered in the preamble to prophetical points of last month’s general election.

Also, whilst writing I’m intrigued to have received a reader’s unwitting contribution that’s made me suspect some pieces of the Lord’s invisible jigsaw are falling into place!

To recap, I noted this medieval document, “Established for the first time the principle that everybody, including the king, was subject to the common law of the land. The British Library states that, although nearly a third of the text was deleted or substantially rewritten within ten years, and almost all its clauses have been repealed in modern times, Magna Carta still remains a cornerstone of the British constitution. I’d add that its great influence extends to the Commonwealth’s and to the United States of America’s legal systems.”

In view of this lengthy document’s importance in world history may I encourage you to consider a few more points gleaned from my weekend reading?  (To read the articles in full and for more information then click the links shown.)

Member of the European Parliament for SE England Daniel Hannan refers to 18th Century PM William Pitt the Elder calling Magna Carta, “the Bible of the English Constitution”. He himself likens it to, “the Torah of the English-speaking peoples: the text that sets us apart while, at the same time speaking truths to the rest of humanity”.

Hannan also recognises the charter’s provisions had been prefigured to a small extent in earlier centuries, yet the document of 1215 AD was different in including an enforcement mechanism. “Instead of leaving it to the king to decide whether he had kept his word, it instituted a form of conciliar government which was to evolve directly into the Parliament that meets at Westminister today”. Of course, parliamentarians’ troubles with Charles I and subsequent civil war used Magna Carta’s provisions as an essential sledgehammer to crack and sever a brick-hard nut!

However, one of our Justices of the Supreme Court as well as distinguished medieval historian, Lord Sumpton, dismisses Magna Carta as being “far less significant in the development of modern rights than the French Revolution”! He argues,

“The modern perception of the Charter as the source of all our liberties was largely the invention of Sir Edward Coke, the seventeenth century lawyer, antiquarian and politician.

“Coke, who was widely regarded as the most learned lawyer of his day, rescued Magna Carta from obscurity and transformed it from a somewhat technical catalogue of feudal regulations, into the foundation document of the English constitution. It is really Coke’s idea of Magna Carta that has been exported to the world, and not the version that King John or his barons would have recognised.

“The libertarian tradition in England is one of this country’s great contributions to the development of the modern world. But its power does not depend on its antiquity.

“Our libertarian tradition actually dates from the constitutional settlement which followed the civil wars of the seventeenth century and the deposition of King James II in 1688. Magna Carta frankly has nothing to do with it.”

Nevertheless, those who praise the Great Charter as the published precursor of the rule of law, rather than the diktat of ruling executives, are right to do so.

1,400th anniversary (approx)

The earliest Anglo-Saxon law code is that of King Aethelbert of Kent after conversion to Christianity and issued between 597 and 616AD. The 12th Century manuscript known as Textus Roffensis is the only surviving copy of those codes:

Subsequent 7th century Kentish codes and laws of Ine of Wales mainly concerned payments for injury, infringement of property rights and breaches of public order. The 9th century King Alfred’s code synthesized elements from Kentish, Mercian and West Saxon codes. The influence of Anglo-Saxon law is apparent in legal measures of kings William I (‘The Conqueror’) and Henry I.

Intriguing God-incidence

Lastly, whilst drafting this I’ve been reading comments submitted by a fellow blogger in the States of whom I’ve known for a few years and today got re-connected. So what’s that got to do with this post? Quite a lot. In fact, I think you’ll be most surprised.

Tim Shey at HitchhikeAmerica adds this perspicuous comment to my Does a spiritual yet political trend link USA to Britain? without realising it’s directly related to this current post. In fact, he puts the whole subject into a Godly perspective:

‘George Bernard Shaw once said that the United States and Great Britain were divided by a common language. It is no accident that the United States is English-speaking and Great Britain is English-speaking. It is because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The United States-Great Britain-English-speaking-Military-Industrial-Spiritual Complex is the great counterpoise to Satan’s Spiritual Babylon (confusion; confused languages because of the sin of the Tower of Babel).

‘Certain principalities and powers of darkness were taken out in England back in the 1600s (the rise of the King James Bible, the English Civil War, the Glorious Revolution) and similar principalities and powers of darkness were taken out in the 1700s in the American Colonies (the great revival before the Revolution, the Revolution itself, the Constitution of the United States). The slave trade was ended in England, I believe, in the 1790s and later the slave trade was ended in the United States; and of course, later the Lord judged the United States for slavery in the great Civil War of 1861-1865.

‘No doubt, the Lord set up this Anglo-American/Judaeo-Christian alliance to spread the Gospel and also to destroy tyranny in different parts of the world through military power: Naziism, Communism, Islamo-Fascism. The British Empire was no accident, the rise of American power and influence was no accident, but both nations must realize that the Lord God in Heaven can easily take down a nation or an empire, if they don’t put the Lord first in their lives. Look at what happened to Nebuchadnezzar: at one moment he was the greatest king on the planet, the same day the Lord humbled him and Nebuchadnezzar went crazy.’

Now is that spooky or just serendipity?  Is it really coincidental?? Or, is the Lord in it???

I’m of the opinion it’s a superb example of ‘God-incidence’ as a ‘Bridge over the Pond‘! Wouldn’t you agree?

Is a similar but far greater ‘taking out’ about to happen in our day, as some prophetical voices are saying?

1. A British Bill of Rights is wholly contingent upon Britain leaving the EU

Noteworthy how the Human Rights Act is now coming into focus in view of the 800th anniversary of Magna Carta (see previous post). His Grace Cranmer opens:

‘(Yesterday’s) Queen’s Speech is the first to be delivered on behalf of a majority Conservative government since 1996, when John Major was Prime Minister and ‘Europe’ was tearing his party asunder…..

[Closes:] ‘A British ‘Bill of Rights’ is supposed to embrace British values. These would include the foundational principle of the Common Law, which is antithetical to the EU Napoleonic model of law, Corpus Juris. It has been found by experience that Common Law is the bulwark against state tyranny and the best guarantor of our liberties.

‘So, as the Prime Minister and Lord Chancellor summon their commission of consultation, could they ensure that it includes those voices which may define what British values are or ought to be included in a British ‘Bill of Rights’? And, having done that, might they explain how this new British ‘Bill of Rights’ might justify Anglican Establishment in an age of moral relativism and religious equality? And, having done that, could they please clarify how the Bill might be consistent with the Prime Minister’s stated preference for remaining a full and participating member of the political institutions of the European Union?’

2. The Christian Deception about Conservatives and Human Rights

Reference to foundational Magna Carta and its subsequent importance in English history is implicit. Cranmer opens:

Gove-More‘There is a lie permeating the Christian social-media detachment that the Conservative quest to repeal New Labour’s Human Rights Act amounts to an assault upon fundamental human rights; that somehow Tories are inherently opposed to limitations on the state and to the basic protections and assurances of justice and liberty which have been set out in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the European Convention on Human Rights – the ‘Human Rights Charter’ – which the UK helped to draft in the aftermath of World War II. No doubt the Church of England (or, rather, certain anti-Conservative bishops and clergy) will be vocal in their opposition to repeal, insisting (erroneously, not to say misleadingly) that the Government’s intention to replace the Human Rights Act 1998 with a British ‘Bill of Rights’ constitutes an immoral political degradation, if not a grave social evil.

‘Michael Gove is the new Justice Secretary and Lord Chancellor. The role is not quite as it was when Sir Thomas More kept the Great Seal with “like place, pre-eminence, jurisdiction, execution of laws, and all other customs, commodities, and advantages”. But like More, Gove is a lay churchman of great intellect and integrity with a profound understanding of theology, ecclesiology, social philosophy and jurisprudence…

[Closes:] ‘And those Christians who spread the lie that to oppose Labour’s Human Rights Act is to oppose the very notion of human rights need to consider the temporal repercussions of perpetuating grave injustice, as well as the eternal consequences of spreading such disinformation. Michael Gove may not be a man for all seasons, but he is the Queen’s good servant, if not God’s first.’

3. Tim Farron ‘clarifies’ his Christian convictions in pursuit of LibDem leadership

Cranmer opens (emphases added):

Tim-Farron‘There is no doubt that Christian representation in Parliament came out well in this General Election. A handful of prominent Christians including Simon Hughes, Douglas Alexander and Jim Murphy lost their seats, but this was more than compensated for by an influx of new Christians across the political spectrum. Ed Miliband failed to become this country’s first atheist Prime Minister and David Cameron is back in power with a Cabinet full of Christian ministers.

‘Now that we are moving into the traditional phase of post-election leadership contests, there is a very real chance that for both Labour and the LibDems their new leaders could well end up being Christians, too….

[Closes:] ‘The LibDems have traditionally had a sizeable Christian presence in Parliament, but also have a strong and vocal LGBT and pro-abortion contingent. Any leader of a party needs to hold the views of its members in tension, but Farron’s desire to reach the top would appear to be leading him to pander to certain groups. In his essay, he writes: “To be a Christian is to submit to ultimate truth, fairness and goodness – some of which will jar with our current state of socialisation.” Sometimes that means sticking up for certain values even if it makes you unpopular and draws criticism. For a Christian, submission to God should always come before submission to man.

‘There is a belief among many Christians that party politics and faith can never really mix. To have a party leader with a sound grasp of the gospel and who is fully committed to his or her faith – to the point of demonstrating it in the voting choices they make – would go a long way to disproving this view. Tim Farron has that chance and he carries the hopes of many Christians and non-Christians both within and outside of the Liberal Democrats. This could be an opportunity for him to forge ahead with a leadership built on personal integrity and strong moral conviction. He has many fine qualities that will serve him well should he win, but, as it stands – certainly on recent evidence – the indication is that when it comes to political ambition and Christian conviction, there is only one winner.’

It’s said that, when in power in the previous coalition, the LibDems pushed for same-sex marriage. So their loss of almost all MPs is poignant.

Conclusion

I trust this will enable us to gain a handle on what’s happening, especially in regard to the continuing need to pray for our leaders as Apostle Paul urged in 1Timothy 2:1-2.

Stunning General Election results – is God behind them?

Three weeks ago today citizens of the United Kingdom voted for their representatives as Members of Parliament. Overnight exit polls and the next day’s final results shocked most analysts and pundits.

In fact, such a change is highly appropriate for this 800th anniversary year of a far more revolutionary political act: King John’s agreement to affix his seal to the Magna Carta. The gathering of his barons in a Thames-side meadow at Runnymede, a few miles outside Windsor, to present the large petitionary document to the king, will be commemorated in a civic ceremony on the actual anniversary,15th June, at a memorial built by our American cousins.

The world famous Magna Carta or ‘Great Charter’ was a practical solution to the political and financial crisis facing the king in 1215, yet it laid the foundation of liberty – of individual freedom, parliamentary democracy and subjection not to royalty, but to the supremacy of law.

That is, it established for the first time the principle that everybody, including the king, was subject to the common law of the land. The British Library states that, although nearly a third of the text was deleted or substantially rewritten within ten years, and almost all its clauses have been repealed in modern times, Magna Carta still remains a cornerstone of the British constitution. I’d add that its great influence extends to the Commonwealth’s and to the United States of America’s legal systems.

Now let’s consider some apolitical observations and possibly prophetical points.  I’m rather ‘long in the tooth’ and therefore cynical about politics. At the time of the election we were preparing to go away for some rest and recuperation. Hence the delay in blogging. Even so, when I got around to starting this post’s draft last week I was directed to look up a special photo, as above, which sync’d into what I had in mind, as explained below.

ELECTION RESULTS

Three of UK’s main political parties got thrashed and trashed on 7th May 2015. Leaders of the coalition Liberal Democrats and opposition Labour parties resigned and the leader of the UK Independence Party lost his seat with ensuing furore over leadership. Astonishing wins of the Scottish Nationalist Party in taking its seats from 6 to 56 brought a wholesale change to politics north of the border, as indicated in this cartoon by Adams (click image for more). It was a night of shocking surprises for many well-known MPs in the loss of their seats.

Something unique happened and marked 8th May as a historic day – maybe a tipping point in not only Britain’s political but also spiritual status?  It presages remarkable winds-of-change blowing right across and re-shaping the political spectrum. It stunned not only politicians but also pundits – and particularly in proving the latter unsound.

We’d taken scant notice of pre-election news and discussions for we loathe carping speculation of ‘talking heads’. As Christians, we have serious reservations about most parties’ policies, but the Prime Minister’s saving grace is that of not being anti-Israel. As the Lord was behind the changes, that point may well have helped David Cameron. AND, he is going to sort out the BBC at long last! (See Tories going to war with BBC.)

That said, here are my observations in sequential relevance:

1. Cloud Over Windsor 2011

Alan May’s above photo of a cloud taken from Windsor on Garter Day June 2011 seems prophetical.  Does it hint at a separation between Scotland and mainland Britain?  The fact it was taken there may be of profound significance. (More details in this post about prayers in Parliament and about Windsor – note reference to ringing of bell in the first. The link to the photo has been taken down because of overwhelming demand upon the source article – a newspaper in Newbury, Berks.)

2. Vision of Bells in Scotland 

Does Tony Puccio’s vision in far away Tucson, Arizona, of bells ringing in Scotland relate to the great jubilation of the SNP and voters? It sure does! In early April Tony blogged:

“I’m going to go out on a limb here and post this. Earlier in the afternoon of 4/16/2015 I was driving home and I began to hear bells ringing. I saw and heard church bells in steeples ringing smaller bells as well were ringing. They were ringing over Scotland.  I’m not sure as to their purpose but I just am posting what I was seeing and hearing.”

It attracted many comments and I remarked, “Ha bells again Tony – that’s how we linked up in 2012! (see ‘Get Ready’ – Paul Revere’s Ride and revival in UK) This time my first impression is of definite warning in view of next month’s elections…nationalist party strongly rocking the boat, probably going to trash Labour Party… There have been plenty of strong prophetic words for Scotland, however, and maybe it’s time to ‘ring out these changes’!” (eg see Dr Sharon Stone, Jane Hamon and the McKies – emphasis added)

3. Lord, Turn The Tide!

I was astonished the election results could show that my prayer request “Lord, turn the tide in the UK” seems to have been met in a promising way. Also in connection with the strongly anti-Christian policies dominating and contributing to the decay of society’s moral fibre, maybe it relates to the Rock (being Christ) I saw emerge through a tear in the rotten fabric of our national life, as in the open vision that confronted me in 2004. 4. Sharon Stone’s Remarks

At her Windsor mentoring day on 9th May Dr Sharon Stone taught on patterns and principles of developing a ‘forerunner’s heart’. She said on these occasions there is always a tug-of-war between disappointment and excitement but this shaking leaves a vulnerability because of people resigning and leaving their positions. So, there’s now an unexpected period of re-establishment and things manoeuvering around that the enemy can take advantage of.

Therefore, prophetic intercessors should be taking advantage of this to turn things around because, even though there have been significant changes, all these things need praying through. As a historical example, Sharon referred to the monarchy’s actions in Windsor of calling out the sick to line up for healing prayer! (Akin to Maunday Thursday practices?) She then said,

“God is shifting the church today. We all have to be more inclusive in all areas, we’ve got to ascend from the priestly area of worship and devotion to that of prophetic revelation and to the apostolic decree as well in both worship and prayer – (thus) we can proclaim what He says.”

Sharon taught on how the account in Acts 12 of Peter’s supra-natural release from prison can be applied to opening up civic and governmental places and situations to the Kingdom of God – keys to open and shut gates of our cities. We’re not just to watch and protect but open up our communities to the purposes of God, that Jesus be glorified in the midst of people, seen for who He really is and that He be loved and accepted there.

5. Revd Ken Gott

The next session on the power of Godly inheritance was delivered by Ken Gott of House of Prayer Europe in Sunderland. He gave an example of how this happened personally via the influence of a man, whose mother had been saved through a miraculous, re-creative healing at a meeting held by early 20th Century evangelist Stephen Jeffreys. That young son’s very first convert was Ken’s great-grandmother.

On the recent election, Ken remarked,

“Something of God happened in the election….I confirm that something of the Spirit moved in that election, moved in our nation. Political commentators got it drastically wrong, the commentators were shocked, the pollsters were amazed how wrong they got it – and everybody’s looking at each other saying we never saw this, we never saw it!

“I’m not saying I’m for the Tories, for a Tory government, for David Cameron, or whatever – but what we need is God. And God orchestrated it…

“I believe we will yet find out that God orchestrated something in the last couple of days! I’m 100% totally, totally convinced of it!”

“We’d been praying all day that we would have Godly men, men who were taught righteously, that they would be courageous in their decision-making and be Godly. We prayed and covered the whole election from the time the polling stations were opened to the time they closed and the ballot boxes were opened…and God heard…

“And yet when that exit poll came out I knew God had answered that prayer, not only of ours but of others too…”

6. 70-year Period 

After his message I approached Ken and Michael Marcell, who was with him, and asked both if they’d noticed the ‘coincidence’ of the previous day’s doubly historic events being related to a 70-year period – and possibly a Biblical one at that!

The 8th May not only brought the amazing election results for a new government’s historic victory but also celebrated the 70th anniversary of VE-Day (1945 Victory in Europe over Nazi Germany). Also, that day’s VE-Day memorial service at the Cenotaph, Whitehall, was attended by all political leaders – The Telegraph’s sub-line: ‘Cruel quirk of timing throws defeated leaders Ed Miliband and Nick Clegg together with victors David Cameron and Nicola Sturgeon’.

7. Cindy Jacobs’ Word for UK

A few days later Michael met Cindy Jacobs, who too remarked upon the significance of the election and brought a greatly encouraging prophetic word for the UK, as copied in this earlier post.

Significance of 70-year cycle

Now, 70 years after victory over a common foe, could Britain at last have an opportunity to move out of ‘Babylonian captivity’ (as in The Babylonian aspect of the Church’s ‘New Era’)?  The ancient Jews were held captive there for 70 years after the fall of Jerusalem in 586BC before being allowed by Persian king Cyrus to return to their holy city.
