Three days’ prophetic jigsaw pieces: #1 – 21st Sept and 1Thessalonians 5

‘But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I should write to you. For you yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, so that this Day should overtake you as a thief. You are all sons of light and sons of the day. We are not of the night nor of darkness.’  (1 Thess 5:1-4 NKJV – emphases added)

Is what Apostle Paul foretold about the timing of the Day of the Lord happening today? Or this coming year?  Especially noteworthy is the fact that today is Rosh Hashanah – the start of the Jewish New Year 5778!!

You may recall having read about this a month ago in Today’s and one month away’s awesome events in the heavens on Mark Biltz’s message (1:04 – 1:05 mark refers)?

The United Nations has declared 21st September to be observed annually and globally as the International Day of Peace (‘Peace Day’)’. Today’s and the next 365 days theme is entitled, ‘Together for Peace, Respect, Safety and Dignity For All’.

Look again, that scripture’s third verse promises ‘when they say, “Peace and Safety!” then…’, the clear inference everyone’s saying those words.

Eschatologists reason that, in the context of the corpus of End-time scripture, this verse means Israel will be living in peace and safety within its own land without any threats or attacks from other nations. Hence the international interest in getting an Israel-Palestine peace treaty signed with a two-state solution to the vexed issue.

But what if the verse really refers to a worldwide concensus to talk about peace and safety, not the resolution of a long-standing Middle-East geopolitical problem??

Could this year, therefore, be the beginning of The Day of The Lord?

Another Biblical Connection?

Furthermore, the details in Matthew’s account of the magi’s journey following the Star of Bethlehem had dropped into mind over the past weeks’ whilst mulling over September’s three special days. (Hence my publishing God’s Bookends.)  King Herod’s asking them about the timing of that star resulted in his murdering children under two years of age (Matt 2:7& 2:16).  So could there be something meaningful about ‘two years’? I ponder over its possible implications in the fulfillment of prophecy.

Moreover, could it support a ‘niggling’ growing suspicion over the direct relevance of what I’d posted two years ago about the Day of the Lord??

Therefore, I was struck whilst editing that post to hear an announcement coming out of my computer speakers about those two years!!  And it was the voice of a man with the same initials as me – RB!  He was nine minutes into a video summary of discussions on the internet since 2015 about the two years up to now, and of which I’m totally unaware as my time’s far too valuable to spend trawling through cyber-stuff.

Double therefore – I took this ‘God-incidence’ as confirmation about the connection I’d been mulling over. Here it is:

Whilst in Jerusalem during the Feat of Tabernacles in 2015 violinist and messianic Jew Dr Maurice Sklar had a visionary experience which concluded with him being instructed to “Tell them all, The Day of the Lord is upon you now!”

‘Upon’ doesn’t necessarily mean ‘here’ or ‘on top of’ but it can also mean something’s ‘imminent’ and so ‘The Day of the Lord’ could be just ‘over the horizon’ and arrive very soon!

Moreover, although two years apart Dr Sklar’s revelatory vision and today’s UN ‘Peace Day’ are both on a Feast day designated by the Lord: ie. Tabernacles and Trumpets (Rosh Hashanah) – Leviticus 23:23-25 and 23:33-36.  The latter is a two-day holiday starting at sundown yesterday and to allow for sighting of the new moon in Jerusalem. It is immediately followed by high holy days ‘The Days of Awe’ leading into Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, with intense spiritual preparation and repentance, sometimes referred to as ‘Israel’s Dark Days’. Old Testament prophets understood the Days of Awe to be a period of judgement, which has a parallel with The Day of The Lord (The Last Shofar, Joseph Lenard & Donalf Zoller).

What’s more, the astronomical alignment of planets and constellations that mirror the ‘radiant woman’ of Rev 12:1-2 takes place on the first ‘Day of Awe’ 2017; that is, 23rd September!

A Brief Biblical Background

For newer readers, let’s briefly consider the background to Paul’s letter and the Day of the Lord:

In the earliest canonical document of the Church (depending upon resolution of date of his letter to the churches in Galatia), Apostle Paul reminded believers in Thessalonica what he’d taught them about Jesus Christ’s promise to return. They were concerned about the status of those who’d died (were ‘asleep’) before that prophesied event.

He states, “For this we say to you by the word of the Lord” which, in my humble opinion, clearly implies Paul had heard this direct from Jesus personally, or received during his very occasional meetings with the twelve apostles. (The later gospels, Peter and John’s letters refer to Jesus’ second coming but don’t spell out the details, as Paul does, for all believers upon being ‘caught up’ or ‘raptured’ to Him at His return.)

Paul refers in passing to a future event first prophesied by prophet Obadiah – the Day of the Lord (see Obad 15) – and to which Jesus alludes in his ‘mission statement’ and its direct connection with Isaiah 61:2 (Luke 4:18-19 refers).

God’s bookends – a guest post

I’m grateful to Mark Maddock for offering these thoughts as a ‘conversation starter’ (his words) on the current signs of the times: 

GOD’S BOOKENDS

Introduction

God has given us signs in the stars (including planets) at key times in human history (‘…let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years.’ Gen.1v14)
Perhaps the most significant of these was the patterns of stars and planets seen by the Wise Men (Magi) in Babylon, ahead of Jesus’ birth. There was then a delay while they travelled to see the prophesied king of the Jews. He was not a new born when they met him but, of course, Jesus came to die. So perhaps the key time period is that from the sign in the stars appearing up to the culmination of the life of the man at the centre of the message. I believe the Father said to me “These signs are bookends…”.

If there is a pattern to be repeated at the end of the age we’re living in then it may give an indication of what lies ahead in the coming years.

A ‘bookend’ is used either end of a collection of books. The collection of ‘books’ in this analogy is all the stories of God’s grace and love moving around the world throughout the church era. This began with Jesus’ death and resurrection, and ends with Jesus’ return to reign and rule on planet earth. Both bookends have clear links with the first and last prophetic fulfilment of the vision of the woman in Revelation 12.

BOOKEND DATES

The first bookend : Jupiter and Regulus in a coronation dance in Leo, near Virgo*
Jesus’ birth sign length: Sept 3BC to June 2 BC (or Oct.?) **
Jesus’ birth after X months: 9 months
Jesus’ death/resurrection (Y years): 30 years later (26-27AD)

The second bookend : Jupiter in Virgo’s womb (Rev.12 fulfilled fully…)
Jesus’ return sign length: Jan to 23rd Sept 2017
X months : 9months
Add Y years (to Jesus’ return?): 30 years (2047)
And, add Daniel’s 70th Week ?: 7 years (2054, the day/hour unknown)

DANIEL

Where did the Magi get the wisdom to correctly interpret the sign in the stars? Some say that Daniel stayed in Babylon when the Jews returned to Israel in the sixth century B.C. Perhaps he established a school of prophets who passed God’s wisdom about astronomy from generation to generation. These men probably knew of Daniel’s prophetic writings which can be used to predict Jesus’ birth, the rebirth of the nation in 1948, re-capture of Jerusalem in 1967 and whatever events await us in 2018 (probably centred around the Temple Mount in Jerusalem). Perhaps there is an overlap of the 23/9/2017 star sign (Jupiter being ‘born’ from the virgin, Virgo) and the end of Daniel’s chronological predictions in 2018 (see Richard D Thompson’s ‘Almost Midnight’ for an explanation of this chronology).

There was ‘messiah fever’ around the time of Jesus’ birth based on Daniel’s prophecies. The message in the stars was all about Israel’s king arriving. It fits in that, about 2,000 years later, a sign appears again which is all about a king being released from Heaven. If there is a delay of 30 years (or 37 if Daniel’s 70th Week of years is included) then that speaks of God’s grace… delaying judgement for a season.

Many people missed Messiah’s first arrival, life and misinterpreted his death and resurrection. We need God’s wisdom about the correct interpretation of the signs in the stars in our generation.

1. The first conjunction signified birth by its association to the day with Virgo “birthing” the new moon. Some might argue that the unusual triple conjunction by itself could be taken to indicate a new king.
2. The Planet of King’s coronation of the Star of Kings signified kingship.
3. The triple conjunction began with the Jewish New Year and took place within Leo, showing a connection with the Jewish tribe of Judah (and prophecies of the Jewish Messiah).
4. Jupiter rises in the east.
5. The conjunctions appeared at precise, identifiable times.
6. Herod was unaware of these things; they were astronomical events which had significance only when explained by experts.
7. The events took place over a span of time sufficient for the Magi to see them both from the East and upon their arrival in Jerusalem.
8. Jupiter was ahead of the Magi as they traveled south from Jerusalem to Bethlehem.
9. On December 25 of 2 BC as it entered retrograde, Jupiter reached full stop in its travel through the fixed stars. Magi viewing from Jerusalem would have seen it stopped in the sky above the little town of Bethlehem.

God’s word does a great job of interpreting itself in many many cases. God ties things together for us to clearly see what He is telling us, and how He works, if we just use proper hermeneutical practices and let His word speak. First, regarding when these “lots” as drawn were to start would go back to Aaron and Moses when the Tabernacle was first built in the wilderness. Due to the Exodus from Egypt, their calendar was to thus begin in Nisan, the month of the Passover. So the descendents of Aaron would start the new year at that time and thus the “lots” would also would also start at that time. The story of Zachariah and Elizabeth immediately brings to mind the story of Abraham and Sarah. They are extremely similar. Zachariah and Elizabeth were well past the age biologically to have a child as were Abraham and Sarah. When Abraham was 99 years old we read in Genesis 17 that God promises him to have an heir through Sarah. Abraham and Sarah doubt God, Sarah even openly laughs. Abraham says, shall a man of 100 become a father? Zachariah in Luke doubts God as well and is struck dumb for his unbelief. In Genesis, after the Sodom and Gomorrah story unfolds in Genesis 19, we get back to Abraham and God saying he would have a child. In Genesis 21 it states that at the age of 100 Abraham and Sarah had a boy and named him Isaac. So obviously Sarah became pregnant very quickly after God told Abraham, at 99 y/o, that she would have a child. This parallel story between the OT and NT clearly leads the reader to the conclusion that Elizabeth would have gotten pregnant just as quickly as Sarah. God was ready in Genesis to pass the promises of Genesis 3:15 from Abraham to Isaac, and with Sarah of an advanced age, God acted quickly once the appointed time came. So also in Luke, God was ready to bring the Messiah into the world, so his fore-runner, John the Baptist had to be born. With John’s parents being also of an advanced age, God again acted quickly. Theses stories are mirror images of one another and for a reason. God is showing that when such appointed times arrive, He acts quickly. In Luke 1:55 when Mary arrives at Elizabeth’s home, Mary even ties together what has happened to her and Elizabeth by comparing it to the promises made to Abraham, thus uniting the OT and NT stories together. This adds more powerful hermeneutical evidence that God is repeating the miracle of Sarah again in Elizabeth. So we have ample Biblical evidence directly pointing us to conclude that God is repeating history. Sarah had her baby within a year, so I have no difficulty seeing God telling us that Elizabeth likewise had her child within a year. In the Companion Bible, an extensive study Bible with lots of notes and research, it calculates the dates for the service of Zachariah as being in June each year, for his one week. The dates I mentioned of June 13-19 was for the year 5 BC in the Companion Bible. But each year it would just move slightly within that period of June. This dating takes into account the weeks when all the Levites would be serving in the Temple, since the lots drawn were for weeks when just one Levite would be serving and performing the priestly duties by himself in the Temple. So I am convinced John was conceived in June 4 BC, Jesus 6 months later in Dec 4 BC. The triple conjunction as explained by Mr Larson in the Star of Bethlehem DVD, I think was announcing the birth of Christ in Sept/Oct 3 BC. Nine months later the brilliant star created by Venus and Jupiter I think was the spectacular sign needed to get the Wise men moving and on their way to Jerusalem, with them arriving sometime between Jesus’ 1st and 2nd birthdays.

It’s a tad indistinct as I focus on this, but suddenly clearly hear him mention a ‘two year’ period re Star of Bethlehem: it’s something I’ve been pondering in regard to my draft summary on Rev 12 and other scripture being prepared for publication!

  3. He said He will be returning in full glory – and Paul knew we would be like Him (ie ‘heavenly  man’) and accompany Him from heaven post-‘Rapture’. +
  4. A good friend of a fellow team-member at Acorn in her 80’s is assured Jesus will return in her lifetime. Also, Paul Keith Davis walked past me about 10 years ago and, glancing at me without halting, said “Await His return!”
  5. Mark responds:
    I agree His return may well be earlier. I’ve (earlier) mentioned ‘Almost Midnight’ by Richard Thompson.. he gIves a strong biblical chronology case for 2018 being a next key waymarker; possibly then leading to Daniel’s 70th week? Bob Jones and Ian Clayton both refer to life here in the 2050s… so adding an end-time version of Jesus’ earthly life (= the church living as mature sons (as per Clayton) and/or the bride making herself ready) may link with the 2050s references (although Clayton is a non-Rapture guy).
    The ‘bookend’ concept can still apply if the extra 33 years are ignored…

National Day of Prayer for Great Britain – Friday 8th September

Today’s and one month away’s awesome events in the heavens

Saturday was ‘fortunate’ in my being able to blog quickly on the significance of today’s heavenly event – the total solar eclipse that’s crossing the United States from west to east – but there wasn’t time to give any specifics as to what to watch for in Mark Biltz’ in-depth teaching.

Moreover, an even more astonishing matter not only links today’s (Monday 21st August) stellar event of being at the start of the new month of Elul (the month of preparatory repentance leading into the Jewish New Year) with its close at the two-day feast of Rosh Hashannah, but also with a secular, global declaration on 21st September – as foretold about 1,967 years ago in one of the earliest, if not the very first, Spirit-inspired documents of the Christian church – Apostle Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians!

So let me draw your attention to the points Mark makes, as in Ernest Hay’s video extract of CHP’s service on Sunday 13th August:

As mentioned in that post, Mark’s teaching is worth watching in its entirety in order to grasp the enormity of what’s happening and its relevance to holy scripture. I suggest you note his references to significant feasts and start of month dates in Jewish calendar and points I particularly want to highlight may be heard from these time marks:

  • 0:46:00 – astronomical mechanism of eclipses and lunar basis of God’s calendar
  • 0:48:45 – ratios of moon : sun size = earth-moon : earth-sun distances = 1:400
  • 0:49:40 – archaic form of Hebrew letter ‘tav’ is ‘X’ with numerical value of 400
  • [‘tav’, means ‘sign, mark, signal or monument’; so sun/moon ratio means signs!]
  • 0:54:00 – total eclipse over eastern Ottoman Empire on 21 Aug 1914, (1st Elul)
  • 0:56:00 – 1st Elul 21 August 2017 solar eclipse path of totality 70 miles wide
  • 0:56:34 – unusually will be over land and across America – first since 1776!
  • 0:57:00 – X-shape of paths of today’s eclipse and on 1st Nisan in 7 years (2024)
  • 0:59:20 – astronomical location of today’s eclipse is in constellation Leo
  • 1:00:00 – the alignment of planets on 23rd Sept in Virgo matches Rev 12 ‘woman’
  • 1:04:05 – UN’s annual International Day of Peace inaugurated 11 Sept 2001
  • 1:04:30 – dates changed to 21st September with different theme each year
  • 1:04:55 – for first time in 15 years Day of Peace falls on Rosh Hashanah
  • 1:05:20 – the theme for 2017-18 is ‘Peace, Respect, Safety and Dignity’.

Note that Apostle Paul conveyed to the early church what he’d learned direct from the Lord Jesus Christ on that subject:

This is what I was referring to in closing To ‘bong’ or not to ‘bong’… about the silencing of Big Ben in London from today, a month to the day away from Rosh Hasannah.

In view of the Jewish calendar starting each month with a new moon, some question Mark’s statement of this eclipse being at the start of Elul.  The month is reckoned from the time the first sliver of crescent moon is sighted from Jerusalem and Mark has posted a clarification on his El Shaddai Ministries website (see home page video).

Further to my post on events in London and Essex, I’m grateful to Jonathan Ely and Michael Marcel for important news about Ilford and to Tony Puccio for informing me today of America’s CBN News report on Saturday’s JustOne outreach in the Emirates Stadium. It’s also published in the UK’s Inspire Magazine and both are of unattributed author. The article reads:

‘The UK’s largest evangelism event since Billy Graham’s crusade decades ago hit the heart of Britain at the weekend with thousands responding to the Gospel message from evangelist J John.

”Literally, thousands of people have come forward to give their lives to Jesus,” said Peter Wooding, London Bureau Chief of the Global News Alliance.

‘The event should encourage Christians across the United Kingdom to pick up the banner of evangelism and begin sharing the Gospel, one national prayer leader said.

“I believe that God has already released a grace over the United Kingdom and it’s going to be very easy to get saved in Britain and this is just a foretaste,” Jonathan Oloyede told Wooding.

‘High profile performers such as Matt Redman, Hillsong London, and Noel Robinson led worship and a number of speakers including Canon Andrew White, Julia Immonen, Lord Michael Hastings, and Linvoy Primus also ministered to the crowd.

‘J.John told Premier Christianity in an interview last month that the world needs to see the church engaging in mass evangelism.

“There is biblical authority and historical precedent for mass evangelism. I find it significant that outside the increasingly secular West, mass evangelism has continued, particularly in the majority world, with some spectacular rallies in places like Africa,” J.John said.

“Mass evangelism reminds the world that the Church is not dead. It’s easy to ignore a few little fellowships hidden away in anonymous buildings in a dozen suburbs. It’s much less easy if there are tens of thousands of people in your city’s main stadium. JustOne at the Emirates Stadium is the first of many anticipated stadium events.”

‘Plans are for the next stadium event to be on 9 June 2018 at Gillingham FC’s Priestfield Stadium in Kent.

Jonathan emailed on what’s happening at Capstone Church the day after my blogging on JustOne & Ilford: “So many miracles happening, fire of God, I am watching every night on livestream and going at least twice a week.  Extended to 31 July 4 nights a week”

Michael’s longer news followed soon afterwards: “I have been to six meetings so far, but unfortunately I missed the most powerful one on Sunday!

“In my opinion Jereme Nelson has released something into Capstone Church – I will not call it revival or an awakening yet, but I do believe it is a renewal/refreshing and it depends on us as to whether it becomes a revival/awakening…

Michael’s most emphatic: “We have not had something like this in our nation for a long time and it could develop into something wonderful…. I urge you to make a sacrifice and come to a meeting. I believe that these are meetings which you go to to receive what is on offer and then take it back to your church/friends and release it. Two of my friends who are no slouches when praying for people came for two nights last week and they said their anointing went up a level…

“There are signs and wonders already happening. I attach a video of a fan next to Miranda Nelson which has a flame in the middle of it. Jerame said it was a sign that the Lord was fanning something into flame! Also the keyboard started to play on its own. There have also been a number of people healed this week.

“For this refreshing to continue and develop it needs new people to come each night, which will give it momentum. I know it is not the easiest place to get to, but it is where God told the pastors to build a church…Please come and please spread the word around.”

He sent this late Mon pm: ‘The pastor of Bethel Church Preston brought a mini-bus full of his congregation to Capstone Church the week before last, and then drove back after the meeting arriving at 5.00am! They were seriously hungry!

‘A lady in her 70’s who went with him to Capstone was at another church meeting in Lytham St Annes. She told the pastor what was happening and he told the congregation. Hungry people lined up for her to pray for them and the anointing of God was so powerful that people five back fell over when she prayed.

‘The meetings in Capstone, Ilford are going on until the end of the month at least so please try to come, or go to Preston.’

Revival Alert: London area awakening

Michael Marcel, who blogs at UK Awakening and maintains a historical listing of revival sites at UK Wells alerted me today to the following revival-related events this weekend:

“This Saturday is a very important event at the Emirates Stadium, London. It is one of the biggest evangelistic events in decades. Please try to support it and take an unsaved person. J John is taking a risk and deserves our support. This meeting’s timing is amazing as our nation has not been in such a bad place since the war – God is on the move and people are ready to receive Him into their hearts.

The leader of that is Jerame Nelson and he decided last week to come to England and is having meetings at Capstone Church, Ilford, each night at 7.00pm until Saturday.

“I believe that these meetings at Capstone Church over the next few days are going to be very important for our nation. I encourage you to get here if you can. But you can also watch the revival meetings online.”

“The meetings last week with Jerame Nelson at Capstone Church, Ilford, were powerful; in fact in my estimation they were the most powerful I have been to in the UK since 1994. “Jerame’s wife, Miranda, will be ministering there from Wednesday to Saturday, this week at 7.00pm.>”I am not saying that it is revival, but undoubtably they are carrying something which one can receive and take back to your churches.

“Please try to come to at least one meeting – the nation needs what they are releasing.”

UK/EU in/out #1: Referendum and Remnant’s opportunity

THE REFERENDUM: AN EXERCISE IN BULLYING by Dr Clifford Hill

The Government’s propaganda may put people off, or it may deceive them – just as the nation was deceived in the 1975 EU Referendum.

C Hill 163835British people dislike bullies. We have a strong sense of fair play and on big issues we like to weigh the evidence and make up our own minds. We are an island people and we value our independence. We do not like being bullied. This is why the huge pressure being put upon the electorate by the Government and their overseas friends, international leaders, big business corporations and bankers may prove to be counter-productive.

The Government promised to help the undecided by publishing the facts. Instead, they have spent £9 million on a blatant piece of propaganda trying to persuade us to stay in the European Union. The front page title of the booklet gives the game away. It says nothing about a presentation of the facts. Its title is “Why the Government believes that voting to remain in the European Union is the best decision for the UK”. It then states “The UK has secured a special status in the reformed EU”.

We should surely be entitled to ask, what ‘special status’? And in what way is the EU ‘reformed’? Are the British people once again being deceived by lies from powerful politicians – as we were 40 years ago?

More Deception?

What is happening today looks very similar to how we were tricked into entered the European Union. Ted Heath, the Prime Minister who did the original deal in 1973, readily admitted before he died that he had lied to Parliament and to the British people because he knew that we were not simply joining a trading group but that the intention was always to work towards the formation of a United States of Europe in which we would all lose our sovereign identity.1

This fact was deliberately kept hidden from the British public when we voted at the 1975 referendum on whether or not we should stay in the ‘European Economic Community’ (‘Common Market’) as it was then described. In those days it was largely a trading group with nine member states, whereas today the EU is a very different beast, with 28 members in a tightly regulated organisation bound by treaties, such as Maastricht and Lisbon, and controlled by an unelected Commission backed by an enormous bureaucracy, with institutions such as the European Parliament and the European Court of Justice exercising enormous power over our own parliament and legal courts.

When the Maastricht Treaty was being negotiated there were attempts by churches to get some reference to the Judaeo-Christian heritage of Europe but this was strongly resisted by secular humanists, who prevailed.2 The resultant European Union is not only deliberately a godless – in fact, God-denying – organisation, but it is also systemically corrupt, as demonstrated by the fact that it has not been able to persuade the auditors to endorse its accounts for at least the past five years.3 In this country, if a company were in that situation they would not only be prosecuted but they would not be allowed to continue in business.

Miracles in the Past

So how should Christians decide on such an important issue? We surely have to recognise the moral and spiritual battle for the soul of Britain that is involved in the present referendum debate. Christians need to know what God is saying to us, not least by looking at the recent history of Britain in a biblical context. This enables us to understand the purposes of God and what he requires of a nation with a strong Judaeo-Christian heritage such as Britain’s.

There are still many people in the older generation who remember that God worked a miracle at Dunkirk in 1940, saving our army from annihilation and giving us victory in the Battle of Britain in the skies. Even Churchill acknowledged in Parliament that it Dunkirk was a “miracle of deliverance”.4 Those were days when the whole nation turned to prayer.

It was also at a time of national prayer that Hitler took the irrational decision not to invade Britain. It is now recognised that if the German invasion had taken place in 1940 nothing could have stopped them conquering Britain. Dad’s Army would no doubt have fought valiantly but German Panzer tanks would have been rolling down Whitehall within days.

When a nation puts its destiny in the hands of God it can expect miracles to happen. It has happened in the past and it can happen again today – if there is a sufficiently strong believing remnant in the country.

Opportunity for the Remnant

Of course we know that as a nation we have spurned our spiritual heritage: we have passed many ungodly laws and we no longer deserve to be called a Christian nation. But there is undoubtedly a strong remnant of believers in the older generation and there are many indications of young people coming to faith in Jesus – possibly in reaction to the mess their unbelieving parents have made of the nation. It is the middle generation who are missing in many churches up and down the country today.

Believing Christians know that as a nation we deserve judgement but we also know the love and mercy of God who has given a solemn promise, “If at any time I announce that a nation or kingdom is to be uprooted, torn down and destroyed, and if that nation I warned repents of its evil, then I will relent and not inflict on it the disaster I had planned” (Jer 18:7).

The Referendum debate is bringing believing Christians to prayer throughout the country. Many prayer meetings are organised for this weekend, St George’s Day, 23 April, and many more are planned between now and 23 June. These prayer meetings give us a chance to seek the Lord and know what he is saying to the nation so that we can pray in line with God’s will and vote accordingly.

Word on the EU, 2015

We have already nailed our colours to the mast in this magazine but we know many Christians who are still undecided. We respect their integrity and we therefore encourage them to join other Christians in prayer where they can spend time spreading the whole issue before the Lord who will surely answer in clarity.

Alongside this article we are printing a prophecy from David Noakes that has already been widely circulated. I was with him when he received this prophecy towards the end of last year. David and I have been close friends and colleagues since the early days of the old printed magazine, Prophecy Today.

We have shared a platform at hundreds of meetings over the years and I have heard him prophesy many times, but I have never heard him bring a word that is as directional as this. In publishing it today, please understand that we are not saying that this is a direct word from the Lord. We offer it in love and humility to our fellow believers for weighing and testing, and we offer it as part of the process of seeking the word of the Lord for Britain today.

Brussels bursts the balloon of theological speculation!

Do this week’s dreadful events in Brussels expose theological errors on the rise of the Antichrist? In my opinion, yes.

As there’s neither time or opportunity to expand upon this claim in depth let me stir your thoughts on a few points.

Students of Bible prophecy know theologians have long-held to the idea that scripture, especially the Books of Daniel and The Apocalypse, foretells the revival of the defunct, ancient Roman Empire. Consequently, the post-WWII Treaty of Rome and creation of the European Union was seen by most modern theologians and teachers on prophecy as the re-birth of that empire, from which the Antichrist would emerge as a world leader. The prophetic corpus explains all the disastrous consequences that would attend such a scenario as a result of a leader’s assumption of totalitarian power and subsequent attacks upon Jews and the state of Israel.

However, since the turn of the Century an increasing number of scholars have posited a different explanation of prophecy; one more in keeping with the geopolitical realities about which it foretells. Namely, Israel and its Middle-Eastern milieu. That is, the nature of Islam makes it, or a part of it, rather than the EU the source of the person to fulfill that prophesied role.

Invisible HandPreviously I’ve noted the author of the book that started my journey, The Invisible Hand, drew attention to the modern ascendancy of Islam, although he followed others’ assumptions about the roles of Europe and of Russia. Even so, as shown in US Presidents’ Actions Relate to Daniel’s Visions, Victor Dunstan’s world scenario drawn in mid-1980s closes: ‘The personification of the Beast will take control of the revived Islamic Empire’!

In fact, this week’s attacks upon Brussels, where the EU’s head is located, symbolise a spiritual conflict and contest between those two candidates for Antichrist!! And this precludes any consideration of the exceptional vulnerability brought about by European defiance of scripture in its anti-Israel policies, as considered earlier in this blog, and the latest illegality of which the Daily Mail published recently.

daniel-revisited-cover-smallAuthor of Daniel Revisited, Mark Davidson considers this theological question and briefly explains in The Attacks in Brussels and Paris, and Rome vs. Islam why Europe can no longer be considered as the source of the infamous biblical personage:

‘If Europe was truly the future power base of the Antichrist, wouldn’t it at least have some vestige of outrage calling for a military confrontation? Why aren’t the Germans, French, Belgians, Dutch and Brits calling for forming a 200,000-man army and smashing the teeth in of Islamic State, the source du jour of Islamic jihadists, um, I mean, terrorists? It’s because Europe is simply not the future power base of the Antichrist. Islam is.

‘The future power base of the Antichrist is the one doing the bombing. And it just occurred to me that these attacks – claimed by IS – are yet another data point showing in reality what is really happening right before our eyes. If you knew nothing of Bible prophecy, which political sphere of influence might have the culture and attitude to support the Antichrist’s ambitions? The Continent tired of war, or the Realm that is in places acting like a wild beast wanting to rip into its victims?’ (Read the full article by clicking above title.)

A Muslim Perspective

Now consider the secular opinion of the Muslim and Pakistan-born author, columnist and broadcaster and a founder of the Muslim Canadian Congress – Tarek Fatah. His article Brussels: Another Wake-up Call in Toronto Sun opens:

‘Another day, another city, yet the script that started unfolding in Nairobi and Dar es Salaam in 1998 and that shocked the world on 9/11 in New York is the same — jihadi killers let loose on unsuspecting “infidels”. On Tuesday, Belgium’s capital of Brussels fell in line with London, Madrid, and Paris as Western capitals brought to their knees by jihadi terrorists seeking the annihilation of Western civilization.

‘If the actions committed by the soldiers of international jihad were predictable, the reaction of Western leaders was also familiar to ordinary, anxious citizens of North America and Europe – cowardice wrapped in political correctness…(Emphasis added)

‘As anger at the inability of Western countries to fight the spread of jihadi Islamism grows, the reaction of their leaders has numbed into cliché-ridden rhetoric…When (leaders) of the free world (are) careful not to name the entity that attacks the U.S. and its allies, how can we expect to defeat this evil cancer that keeps spreading?

‘Imagine President Franklin D. Roosevelt not naming the Nazi regime of Germany as the enemy Americans (and British Commonwealth) fought and laid down their lives to fight against in the Second World War.’

In closing let me quote Archbishop Justin Welby:

“In the great Holy Week of Christian prayer and mercy, the Brussels attacks shock all those who seek peace and justice through the terrible cruelty and utter separation from all that is of God. Once again we see the contrast between the vain efforts to terrify through indiscriminate murder, and the call of God to be those who show mercy, who seek peace and pursue it. Let us at every service this week pray for those caught up in the traumatic events at the airport and in the City of Brussels.”

Let us pray also for all our political leaders and ministers to repent of repudiating Christ and that all resolve to uphold and follow rather than negate and ridicule Gospel truths – amen.

Soeren Kern, Why Belgium is Ground-Zero for European Jihadis:

The terrorist attacks on the airport and metro in Brussels are casting a spotlight, once again, on Belgium’s ignominious role as a European haven for jihadists. Several distinct but interconnected factors help explain why Brussels, the political capital of Europe, has emerged as the jihadist capital of Europe…

American intelligence official: “When we have to contact these people [European officials] or send our guys over to talk to them, we’re essentially talking with people who are… children. These are not pro-active, they don’t know what’s going on. They’re in such denial. It’s such a frightening thing to admit their country is being taken over.”

Caroline Glick, The Consequences of Anti-Zionism:

…In the aftermath of the ISIS attacks in Brussels, will Europeans demand to know why European resources are being used to fund espionage against the IDF on the one hand, and Palestinian security services that commit murder and support jihad on the other?

Just as Ad Kan’s revelations indicate that law breaking, while not intrinsic to the operations of anti-Zionist, EU-funded Israeli groups, so it would seem that while not intrinsic to anti-Zionist foreign policies, governments that are hostile to Israel tend to have incoherent and incompetent policies for  contending with the threat of jihad.

This of course, is eminently predictable. After all, if you believe that Israel is the cause of the pathologies of the Islamic world, then you will likely be blind to the nature of the jihadist threat and the danger it poses to your nation.

Following the ISIS strikes in Brussels, both Israeli and American security experts spoke bitterly of the ineptitude of Belgian security services. It is not that the forces themselves are incompetent. Rather, the experts said, their political leadership refuses to allow them to take the actions necessary to protect their country.

The Belgians, like their European brethren generally, refuse to deal with jihad. Instead of acknowledging and dealing forthrightly with the phenomenon, they seek every possible excuse to ignore it.

According to senior government officials, the Belgians are among the most vociferous foes of Israel in the EU. Europe’s obsessive castigation of Israel is a central aspect of their jihad avoidance strategy. If Israel is to blame for everything, then they can save themselves by pouring billions of euros on the PA and by funding Israeli anti-Zionist subversives.

This position is of course irrational and by clinging to it, the Europeans have enabled the jihadist forces arrayed against them to gather and grow…

Readers, have a ‘Mega-merry’ Christmas, as may be inferred from the OT Hebrew word ashar (Strong’s #833, as in Proverbs 31:28 on the virtuous wife), meaning

‘happy, blessed, prosperous, successful, from original root ‘be straight, upright’.’

Better still is New Testament Greek’s makarios (Strong’s #3107), which means

‘from root mak, indicating large, or of long duration…happy, supremely blessed, a condition in which congratulations are in order. It is a grace word that expresses the special joys and satisfaction granted the person who experiences salvation.’

This ‘Blessed’ is used in The Beatitudes, or the Sermon on the Mount, as recorded in Matthew 5. (From NKJV New Spirit-Filled Life Bible, Exec ed. Dr Jack Hayford)

May it be an especially blessed night of spiritual silence and insight for everyone.

The Austrian carol Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht is one of my old favourites. First played on this day in 1818 near Salzburg, my father heard it during his long stay in Stalag IIIA. (He liked the look of Austria as seen whilst being conveyed en-route as a captive from the Battle for Crete in 1941. So we holidayed in the Tyrol in 1950-60s.)

Starting with a single cellist on the floor of the National Air and Space Museum’s “Milestones of Flight” gallery, and swelling to 120 musicians, The U.S. Air Force Band exhilarated museum visitors with its first-ever flash mob. The four-minute performance featured an original arrangement of “Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring/Joy to the World,” led by the band’s commander and conductor, Col. Larry H. Lang. Unsuspecting museum visitors including tourists and school groups were astonished as instrumentalists streamed into the gallery from behind airplanes and space capsules, and vocalists burst into song from the Museum’s second floor balcony.

Birmingham, 16th January – Exposing the spirits of jezebel & antichrist

Harvest Church eventOver lunch with William Smith, author of Feasting on the Father and his wife Susanna yesterday we discussed the undesirable and adverse effect of church leaders who let a controlling, religious spirit – which is demonic and thus divisive – quench things of the Holy Spirit within church; even resulting in churches splitting up!  Now hasn’t that been a strategy of satan since the days of the first disciples and throughout church history?

There are even well-intentioned prayer meetings that study the Word of God supposing certain scriptures as suitable for the purposes of intercession, but which are adamant in not listening to what the Lord has to say, as though blocking ears when direct words or pictures are brought from the Lord!  As Dr Sharon Stone oft states: “The religious spirit hates the spirit of prophecy” (let’s recall Revelation 19:10 – the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy).

So the news of an event I received the same morning, which would enable the Bride to discern and overcome the adversary’s strategies and facilitate moving into the new era of the church, would be exceptionally timely, essential instruction and ministry:

Harvest Ministries recommends Exposing the Spirits of Jezebel and of Antichrist to anyone in church leadership of any kind, is involved in the prophetic or has a healing ministry. Harvest Ministries is associated with The Revival Alliance.

This one day event is hosted by Harvest Ministries with teaching by Wes Boxall, who has pastored for over 20 years. He has done extensive research into the spirits of Jezebel, Anti-Chris and Mammon. He has discovered, startlingly, these spirits directly oppose and counterfeit the Godhead! These divisive spirits would like nothing more than to tear-down, divide, exhaust and otherwise incapacitate the church.

This day is likely be as shocking as it is informative!

However we, as the church, cannot afford to allow these spirits to influence our lives. As we step up, and step out, into our destinies and spiritual gifts, we must be on guard and resist the enemy.
