Thank you, an apology and questions on ‘No Ebb’ prophecy

Thank you to Lynne for notifying me about Arthur Burt, and to Tony for asking about him.

To you dear subscriber, and more importantly, I’d ask you to please accept my apology for not having included in the previous post the date of Arthur’s departure to be with the Lord. I’m sorry for any confusion you may have been caused over its omission.

Normally I’m off-line Friday-Sundays save for running off news reports and scanning for urgent email. One brought this news but there was no time to do anything other than to feature earlier posts on the Home Page and include an announcement plus photo. (Any other posts appearing on a Friday/Saturday have been pre-scheduled for automatic publication.) However, I didn’t realise a regular email advice isn’t issued for such re-publishing. Therefore, in blogging yesterday’s post about Arthur I assumed that readers would already see the news on the Home Page.

So I’ve updated that post and expanded upon what Mary brought, as well as added a map. Now we need to check out whether or not the words Arthur carried for nearly 80 years are of the Lord.

Questions on the ‘No Ebb’ prophecy

As with all prophetic words, this one too – along with Bob Jones’ word – needs to be held in a ‘pending’ tray to wait and see if it will be fulfilled, thereby indicating it was brought through a true prophet. That is, they need to be held loosely, for interpretation is the Lord’s.

Therefore it needs to be weighed against scripture as well as checking with the Holy Spirit. Also, does it accord with the Lord’s character and purposes; was it delivered through an accredited prophetic voice?

I humbly submit a few comments on this:

1. Arthur’s account of the reception of the words is an extensive, essential epistle and tells his personal story. In view of the recent teaching about which I blogged here about the Beginning and holy darkness, it’s interesting to read his Prologue’s opening pages.

Therein, he recounts the night the prophetic word came > “And it shall come like…and there shall be no ebb”.  It marked the beginning of the days in which he would look for its fulfillment when, “the earth shall be covered with His Glory”, as in Psalm 72:19.

Clearly, Arthur longed to see such a day when Revival would not just come and slowly dissipate but stay as a full visitation of God’s Glory. He recounts the many times, and especially in modern days, when such wonderful moves and manifestations have ebbed away and become just another denomination, or way of ‘doing church’!

But this prophetic word brought promise of such a long-lasting powerful revival which would not ebb away. It is very likely the same one Smith Wigglesworth and his prayer partner Norman James each saw in a vision – see blog’s Library under 1947 & 1997.

2. Bob Jones’ account of having heard from God about encouraging a man overseas needs some scrutiny in view of its anecdotal rather than recorded nature, especially in view of the time-lapse. Bob’s friend, Rev Steve Scroggs, writes in The Awakening of the Lord’s End of Days’ plan to bring a billion youth into the Kingdom. He says both Bob and Arthur had revelatory insights into His plan and notes Bob’s remarks,

‘I did not know this word, or Arthur, when Bob Jones told me his part of the story. One morning in the late 1980′s, when Bob was praying and talking to God, the Lord told Bob that he wanted him to encourage one of his men in Great Britain. The Lord said, “In the year you were born I gave him a word, and he has not seen this word fulfilled. Tell him that he will see this word come to pass before he dies.” 

Now there’s a question over this dating because Bob was born in 1930, Arthur’s book has 1934 and his daughter Mary thinks it may have been as late as 1937.

Another way of looking at this, however, is that the Lord planted this word as a seed into Arthur’s spirit in 1930 but it needed nurturing and watering. Then, when delivered by another man it had an immediate impact upon Arthur because it was already in him, albeit dormant, and so it came into full bloom; or, as Mary comments in this blog,

“…it so moved him that dad grabbed hold of it. He has kept it alive all these years.”

The other question over dates is when Bob was told about Arthur because Steve’s later remarks about Kathie Walters contacting Bob on his date disagree with hers. She refers not to 1980’s but about 2009-11, as may be inferred from her account:

‘Several years ago I was in Wales. I was doing an Elijah List conference. After the conference I went to North Wales, to visit an old friend, Arthur Burt. Arthur has been in the ministry for about 85 years. He was part of a tremendous revival years ago around the 1930′s.

‘When I came back to the U.S. I called Bob Jones to see if he had any word for Wales. He said, “No, but I have a word for an old man in Wales and you were just in his house.”

“That must be Arthur Burt,” I said, as that was the only older man whose house I had been in. Bob didn’t know who Arthur Burt was at that time. “What’s the word?” I asked.

“Tell him, he will see the word,” Bob said.

“He will see what word?” I asked.

“Bob said ” I don’t know, you will have to ask him what word he received. He received it years ago. It was given to a group of people and they are all dead now except for him. But tell him he will see it”.’

Despite lack of clarity over when Bob heard from the Lord, the message details remain consistent. Furthermore, we know from many accounts of Bob Jones from close friends such as Bobby Conner and Paul Keith Davis, he operated in an exceptionally accurate gift of knowledge, as indicated in the above excerpt from Kathie’s account (in full here).

3. So if that reminder was from the Lord, what was it that He would be showing Arthur? “Tell him he will see it!”.  Does that mean all the prophecy or part of it? That prophecy describes something happening in sequence:

“It shall come as a breath…
And the breath shall bring the wind…
And the wind shall bring the rain.
And there shall be floods and floods and floods…
And torrents and torrents and torrents.
Souls shall be saved like falling leaves
from mighty oaks swept by a hurricane.
Arms and legs shall come down from heaven…
..And there shall be no ebb.”

From late 2013 and into early 2014 the UK experienced unprecedented weeks of wild wind, heavy rains, massive flooding and an earthquake!  So Arthur lived to see the first part of the prophetic word. The promise brought through Bob Jones therefore proved true.

Therefore, the original word’s own promise of an abundance of souls coming into God’s Kingdom may be just around the corner – or more likely, over the horizon!

Perhaps it may be like a spiritual tsunami sweeping right around the globe from where an immense number of salvations are increasing (China). Its initial ‘up-swelling’ is being felt by those who are awakening to what God is doing in this new season.  For example, recall Justin Abraham’s remarks in Prophecy of a roller-coaster ride – Get Ready! 

“Just back from a ballistic incredible time in OZ and NZ. Things are heating up! We are seeing early signs of the great turning of the tide everywhere…

“It’s already started and isn’t it amazing we get to see days of fulfilment and breakthrough that previous generations imagined. A brand new day. Strap yourselves in for an exciting ride!”

In this connection, Paul Keith mentioned that the open spiritual atmosphere he senses in Wales and UK is like that over Canada, but it is not so for the United States.

Now, could this be because both lands’ Prime Ministers are not anti-Semitic and anti-Israel and so the Lord’s hand of blessing is upon our nations? I’m sure it is!

Methinks Habbakuk 2 verses 1 and 13-14 seem right for what’s happening:

1 I will stand at my watch
    and station myself on the ramparts;
I will look to see what he will say to me,
    and what answer I am to give to this complaint.

13 Has not the Lord Almighty determined
    that the people’s labour is only fuel for the fire,
    that the nations exhaust themselves for nothing?
14 For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord  as the waters cover the sea.

Amen.

Bob Jones: It’s about THE Harvest, look at your hands!

The following dream account by Bobby Conner is especially interesting in connection with recent references to the parable of the wheat and tares and An Invitation to The Threshing Floor:

Bobby_Conner_2013_150pxIn the early morning hours of March 28, 2014 around 3:30am I received a very vivid dream, which I feel is significant to help the Body of Christ gage (sic) the season we have entered into. This was much more than a mere dream. This was a prophetic encounter! The dream commences, I am in my study at my desk in Moravian Falls, North Carolina; I am working on a new book.

The Holy Spirit said; “You have a visitor”. Thinking someone was at the door I am about to open the door. However the Holy Spirit said, “Your visitor is at the window”. Turning to look at my windows, suddenly with a flash of light appearing just outside my window striding down what appeared to be translucent pearl colored stairs was Bob Jones. He had the most winsome warm smile and looked absolutely wonderful. However, in the dream I was completely aware that Bob had gone to heaven on Feb 14th 2014.

Bob simply stepped into my study. I did not need to open the window he just walked right in. His appearance was incredible, he was firm and fit. He was dressed in a wonderful soft, beautiful, elegant white robe past his waist down below his knees, like a long shirt. His hair was extremely white and glistening I was amazed at his skin it was without blemish white and soft, his smile was truly radiant and beautiful. His eyes were bigger than normal and extremely clear sparkling like that of an excited child.

Jones3_300pxI had been expecting his visit. Nevertheless words can’t describe my delight and thrill. I was so excited to see my dear friend. I said, “I been expecting this meeting! And looking forward to it.” He quickly replied in an excited tone, “Me too!” His next words were, “You are doing fine!” And he said, placing both hands on his chest, “And I am doing wonderful”.

Golden Shafts

In this encounter is seemed as if we could communicate without actual conversation, spirit to spirit with our hearts. Then he said, “Have you noticed your hair?” I replied, “No not really!” He said in an instructive tone. “Run your hand through your hair.” Accordingly I ran my right hand through my hair it felt perfectly normal.

Then Bob said in a delighted, gleeful tone, “Look in your hand,” when I looked at my hand I had hundreds of golden pieces of strands. These golden particles seemed to me like the shaft of arrows only much smaller! They were round and very straight about one foot in length.

Bob said in an excited informative manner, “Do it again and again and again”; each time more and more golden shafts appeared until my hands as well as his were overflowing with these golden strands.  Bob declared with a wonderful twinkle in his bright blue eyes, and a smile of someone who knows a secret that you are about to learn, “Watch closely!”

Suddenly these golden shafts appeared to turn into wonderful huge stalks of ripe grain. These golden stalks filled not just our hands they were now huge you could hardly get your arms around them. And they continued to expand larger and larger. The rapid acceleration of their increase was breath-taking.

It Is Harvest Time

Hand_in_wheatBob said with a child-like smile, “YOU know what this means don’t you!“

I replied somewhat tentatively, “I think I do!”

He said in a most confident tone, “It is the HARVEST!”

He said, “The coming harvest will be spearheaded by the prophetic.” The Prophets will be used in an unprecedented way to announce and declare the fields that are now ripe and ready for harvest. The prophetic voices will sound a clear trumpet call bring forth the Body of Christ to stand-up and speak up becoming  anointed evangelists.

Bob said almost in a personal matter of fact manner, “It is so much better to watch from my vantage point.” He added, “I know we have much to talk about, but we will do that later!”

And suddenly there was a strong flash of light, extremely blue bright, and he was gone. In the dream I am standing in my study; my body and mind both pulsating, shaken to the core by the visitation.

Abruptly I am awake laying in my bed, my body still responding to the event that I just experienced, my heart pounding and my spirit electrified. The main enlightenment we must comprehend from this encounter is: it is harvest time. The end of the age is now upon us. Arise, prepare your heart to thrust yourself into the harvest field.

In the light of their long friendship, I‘d like to draw attention to Bobby’s brief eulogy of 15th February.:

Bob Jones, a wonderful prophetic leader and prayer warrior for over four decades, went home Friday morning at 6:22, February 14th, 2014.

In the early morning hours Friday I heard within my spirit the corporate cry coming from earth… “my father!” my father!” (see 2 Kings 2:12). Bob Jones moved to heaven peacefully and smiling. For over 20 years Bob and I lived in relationship only God could have arranged.  He was a true father and friend in the prophetic. I asked Jesus many years ago, about Bob Jones and He replied to me “He is MY FRIEND”. I am very sure of this fact, Bob will be more effective from his vantage point now than before. The seeds he has sown will surely bring great harvest.

I trust most readers can appreciate and weigh words said to be from the Lord and, thereby, check with scripture and how what’s been delivered ‘sits with’ their own spirit and the Holy Spirit. For what it may be worth, I humbly submit my brief thoughts on the words about the ‘Threshing Floor’:

Also, I’m suspecting a sense of ‘timing’ in what Sharon has delivered. This isn’t so much from its relevance to the record-breaking extreme weather but more from a possible link to what was written recently on this blog.

Ezra

First, the reference to Ezra relating to this prophecy is interesting. His priestly role in writing the revealed word of God is second only to that of Moses. He is credited with accurately transcribing the Pentateuch’s Old Hebrew, borrowed from the seafaring Phoenicians, into square characters of the Hebrew alphabet based upon the Aramaic alphabet. That was the language spoken by the Jews during their captivity in Babylon and upon returning to Jerusalem over 2,500 years ago. About 70 years before that the  lost Book of the Law from Moses’ time about 700 years earlier had been re-discovered in the Temple.

After the discovery the Jews were taken into captivity and their teacher and spiritual leader Ezra devoted himself to studying the five books of Moses. He organised their compilations into a single entity, was inspired to write scripture and started the process of replicating God’s Word through a school of scribes (Sopherim). The original meaning of that Hebrew word is ‘people who know how to write’ – and count. Numeracy was vital because they counted every single letter in many different ways in order to transmit the Word as exactly as possible. That target was achieved to almost 100% accuracy.

Hence, the significance of commencing this current prophetic word with reference to Ezra’s book.

The Threshing Floor

Although not quoted, the words Sharon brought are directly related to John the Baptist’s description of Jesus’ mission, as Matthew recounts:

“…I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. 12 His winnowing fan is in His hand, and He will thoroughly clean out His threshing floor, and gather His wheat into the barn; but He will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.” (Matt 3 NKJV, BibleGateway)

Later, Jesus refers to this truth in the parable of the wheat and tares (weeds identical to wheat until the grain appears). He explains it as follows:

“He who sows the good seed is the Son of Man. 38The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. 39The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels.

40Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age. 41The Son of Man will send out His angels, and they will gather out of His kingdom all things that offend, and those who practice lawlessness 42 and will cast them into the furnace of fire. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth. 43 Then the righteous will shine forth as the sun in the kingdom of their Father. He who has ears to hear, let him hear!” (Matt 13 NKJV, BibleGateway.com)

This parable is one of three ‘coincidental’ repetitions from 5 years ago that I mentioned in Friday’s blog.  Fascinating that it’s re-surfaced at this time. Perhaps the Lord may be stressing its relevance for the coming season? In 2008 the leader of a ministry in which I served had taken other leaders to task over quoting that parable as a reason for not correcting Todd Bentley during the Lakeland outpouring.  I was uneasy with how this issue was being handled and with the mishandling of this scripture in criticising others. So I found Paul Keith Davis’ insights into the parable to be most helpful. (Should you be interested, a brief version appears in An End-Time Strategy.)

Satan’s Strategy

“We must know the wiles of our enemy” is a very sound reminder. Even those familiar with deliverance ministry may fall foul of these ways that distract us from our prime purpose of knowing God and following Jesus’ command to love one another, thereby honouring our brethren.

Romans 13

Lastly, another scripture of special personal significance is Romans 13. This is pertinent to my encounter with Jesus, as I was to discover a long time afterwards.  It features in the liturgical readings assigned for the First Day in Advent, which is about Jesus’ return. The verses Sharon quoted from Romans 13 were those which deeply encouraged me upon finding and reading my late mother’s Missal for that date – click on image to view. Dr Stone: the flooding and an invitation to the threshing floor

I’m grateful to UK Awakening for this Prophetic Word for 2014 from Dr Sharon Stone, inspired by Jane Hamon. Please note this is not meant to downgrade or belittle the loss of homes and livelihoods, as well as life, many have faced since mid-December:

THERE IS A THRESHING FLOOR INVITATION FOR US FROM GOD

In Ezra 4 we see a resistance to the rebuilding of the temple in Jerusalem.  We have been in that “season of hindrance”. Thank God we are now coming out!

There is a New Generation that is now leaving captivity into ruling with the manifestation of the power of God (signs and wonders).  Abraham, Issac and Jacob are the generations leaving captivity.  This is not just one age group.

They are fulfilling 1 Cor 4:20 ‘The kingdom of God is not in word but in power’.

Joel 2:23-26

…rejoice in the Lord your God;

For He has given you the former rain faithfully, 

And He will cause the rain to come down for you — 

The former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.

That is, a double anointing the latter and former at the same time.  In England it will be known for its rain in this season.  The flooding will be a spiritual sign of the dry and parched land entering their spiritual rain.

The rain causes the threshing floors to be full.  God is meeting us at the Threshing Floor even before there is much to thresh.  God calls this a Threshing Floor/Harvest Season. 

One of the most important places to be in harvest time is the Threshing Floor and this is a tremendous time of Harvest.  God is thrusting in His sickle and reaping in ways we have never seen before.  How is that possible? 

Amos 9:13

“The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when the reaper will be overtaken by the ploughman and the planter by the one treading grapes. New wine will drip from the mountains and flow from all the hills.”

1. God has brought us to the threshing floor to gather from the natural and spiritual realm what was grown in the last season. 

Some of us must put the pressure of Holy Spirit upon any dormant seeds or delayed harvest. That we might be aligned accurately.

2. The Threshing Floor has always been a symbol of separation and sanctification.  

A place of spiritually separating the good from the bad.  A place of separating the useful from that which is no longer beneficial.

This season will measure us by a Baptism of Fire, from the Refiner’s Fire, bringing us to another level of Holiness.  Why now? I believe history will record this time as; “The Age of Righteousness”.  Thank God as darkness increases in the earth, so does His glorious Light.

Romans 13:11-14

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed. 

The night is far spent, the day is at hand. Therefore, let us cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.

But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfil its lusts.

The Lord is the master purifier.  He is cleansing His temple so His kingdom can come through you. God wants His Church to function with all the resources of heaven, but He also wants His people to function with His character.  That is why He said; “But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh…”.

This season is not about you (sic) great ability to discipline yourselves into holiness.

This will be a joyous time as the Spirit of Holiness invades you.

There are promises to the righteous (those who put holiness into operation).

The Bible tells us during the last days shaking of the world things get worse.  There are more wars and young men’s hearts fail for fear, but these are just the birth pains.  Yes, there is a shaking going on, but the Lord wants you to know this: “The righteous will never be shaken”.

3. The Threshing Floor is a place of forceful activity.

Winnowing demands purposeful and forceful activity.

The Kingdom is forcefully advancing and the forceful lay hold of it.  You are going to catch the advancing Kingdom of God mentality.

A Threshing Floor is built upon a hill or open plain that it might catch the wind.  We are catching the thrust or the wind of Holy Spirit.

4. The increase of the threshing floor…(Numbers 18:30) 

This is a season of abundant blessing.  This is not just supply to pay past debts, but the harvest is also resources for the future season.

God is giving us the ability to project vision not just to survive.

5.The Threshing Floor is a place of sacrifice and a place for curses to be broken. 

David bought the Threshing Floor of Ornan the Jebusite to offer a sacrifice, in order to break the curse upon Israel.  He said; “I will not give The Lord that which costs me nothing”.

We will have opportunity to give the largest offerings of our life.  We will also see curses of ‘Generational Sins’ and the sins of the fathers that have been passed down upon the children fully broken over our families.

6. The Threshing Floor is a place of connections for destiny.  

Ruth and Boaz found each other at the Threshing Floor.  For some that will be a place of literal fulfilment.

For all of us it will be a time for our Kinsman Redeemer.  Jesus will have encounters and connections with us His bride bringing us into greater destiny and intimacy.

7. Biblical History often speaks of enemies who sought to rob the harvest at the Threshing Floor. We must know the wiles of our enemy. 

The enemy seeks to steal the harvest where he did none of the investment or labour.  This will be a time when the enemy will not only attack our weak places but our strengths as well.  Then enemy seeks to attack your harvest not just your barren places.

We already read Joel 2:24 The former and Latter Rain in the same month.  Continuing with that scripture;

The Threshing Floors shall be full of wheat, And the vats shall overflow with new wine and oil.

The New Wine is already flowing! The New Wine is available to you right now!

“So I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten, The crawling locust, The consuming locust, And the chewing locust, My great army which I sent among you.

You shall eat in plenty and be satisfied, And praise the name of the Lord your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you; And My people shall never be put to shame.”

8. At the Threshing Floor when the thief has been exposed, that is when he has to make restitution. 

We have entered a time of Restitution!  In Luke chapter 15, we see restitution.  The recovery of the lost sheep, the lost coin, and the lost son. The sheep speak of those who will come to salvation.  The coin represents recovery of your finances and wealth that has been lost.  The prodigal son promises many Christians who have walked away from Jesus, will return.

We have been invited to the Threshing Floor for a season of recovery and breakthrough.  We will walk out of limitations for the purpose of advancing the Kingdom of God.  We are leaving the place of lack and restriction in order to experience the abundant provision of the Kingdom of God

9. The Threshing Floor will separate us from our past to our present and future destiny. 

This will get rid of our old baggage that has anchored us to past failures and delay.  We will be aligned to this present season and to our destiny.

10. The Threshing Floor will separate the church from her past successes and failures. 

This will offer a positional readiness for the church.

5 years ago today: “The End-Game Is Now In Play”

A lot’s happened in the 5 years since I started writing to friends on 28th February 2009  about current events prophesied in the Bible. The first email opened by explaining my grounds for doing so.:

“Last year, I encountered two conflicting claims about Jesus’ explanation of the parable on the end-time harvest of wheat and tares (Matt 13:36).  So I went to check scripture but upon opening my Bible a deep excitement exploded within as I heard,

“This is ALL about to be fulfilled!”

WOW! Hence, my previous remarks about a sifting of the Church – in preparation for a rapid ‘sHifting’?”

My contacts had already been established over the previous year. As they were all familiar with scripture it wasn’t always necessary for me to quote or explain meanings. However, with that change in direction upon my hearing direct from the Lord it was opportune to stress the associated scripture, as follows.:

“Jesus urged His disciples to look out for and observe signs of the times. Regarding their questions about His return at the end of this Age, the earliest Gospel account has Jesus stressing 7 times, “Watch…be alert…on your guard“ (Mark 13). Matthew 24 reports Jesus saying 4 times, “Watch…and when you see…” followed by the parables of the burglar and of the virgins:> “Don’t be caught napping!” [Is the Church still asleep?] Luke’s account has, “Be always on the watch…” (ch21:36) and chpt 12 (NIV) has sections on watchfulness and interpreting the times. In each Gospel Jesus commands, “Learn the lesson of the fig tree…”. Also, the Apostles went on to give more indicators…”

Regular contacts had started over a controversial move of the Lord in 2008 in Lakeland, Florida. This had featured healing evangelist Todd Bentley, whose rather rough, logger background and highly unconventional ways generated a heated debate in Christian circles.

I believe the Lord used it to test which disciples are really committed to applying His command to “Love one another”, which is how “the world may know the Father sent me” (John 17:23).  Perhaps this would sift out those who are not yet ready for the more demanding move into this ‘New Season’?

Funnily enough each player involved 5 years ago has also been in direct contact with me this week:  ‘Revd’ Bill’ – PK Davis (ace teaching on Matt 13 above) – ‘LL’ in reference to TB and Lakeland !!

That first email of 2009 referred to the increasing politicised provocation against believers within the UK, as well as the surveillance against which a director of MI5 warned.  We’re well aware of rapidly discriminatory actions against believers in the last 5 years. But abroad, real persecution and terrorism have rocketed in the Muslim world, being most critical in northern Nigeria. So we’ve had it comparatively easy in Britain, but British and American leaders show an atheistic disinterest and lack of compassion over this dire situation.

We’ve also seen the rapid development of anti-Semitism and the creation of the alliance of Middle-Eastern nations prophesied in Ezekiel 38.  I’ve written increasingly on this under the descriptor ‘Ezekiel Alliance’, or Gog-Magog.  As Zechariah prophesied about Jerusalem, there have been intensifying discussions and sabre-rattling; the latest being that Mahmoud Abbas erupted in a rage over US Secretary Kerry’s proposal for the Palestinian capital to be located not in Jerusalem but elsewhere! (See Zech 12 and Israel Today report.)

The End-Game is Now In Play

Dear Friends – further to Rev’d Bill’s recent request re Christian Freedom, may I offer some observations upon our times and, in another message, suggest a way forward?

So, let’s watch closely what’s happening here and globally. When I’m by a newstand it’s noticeable that the Daily Telegraph is the only paper to headline matters of Christian concern – several within a fortnight recently. Eg. on 6 Feb it broke the news of Nurse Caroline Petrie’s suspension for offering to pray for a patient with front page headline ‘NHS staff face sack if they discuss religion’. We took exception to this and wrote to N.Somerset PCT saying we were glad their policy wasn’t in effect 3 years ago when Nina was fighting for her life! (I explained it was only because the night-duty nurse prayed that her throat immediately opened and she became peaceful, as shown on her monitor’s read-out.) So, we’re pleased to learn Caroline has been allowed to return to work, but I’m challenging the PCT’s ‘equality’ stance.

However, this is just one instance of the growing persecution of believers, principally through a policy supposedly promoting toleration but that’s now a tyrannical tool of intolerance – Equality & Diversity. There are other powers of suppression. Even the previous director of MI5 warns about UK sleep-walking into a police state (‘Abject nonsense’ responded a gov’t minister who lives on another planet). Rampant lawlessness now exists not only in society but also within legal authorities – laws not approved by Parliament – ‘snoop and snitch’ culture – correction punished and evil behaviour rewarded – ID cards and routine interception of email and phones – etc etc. Clearly, Banking isn’t the only thoroughly corrupt UK institution.//Let us, however, keep our eyes fixed on Jesus as we await the blessed hope of His glorious appearing.
