We continue from Memorable motifs on Mark 13..., which led into The Lord hands out FIVE jigsaw pieces on Daniel 9 with three confirmations on Dan 9:27, then to a footnote on the Bible’s first references to ‘The Day of the LORD’ in Obadiah 15.
Last Sunday evening’s Carols by Candlelight at 3Counties Vineyard was hosted by Helena and Andrew Carter, and to which he’d already announced,
‘We are theming the evening around “A New Dawn”. That the coming of Jesus marks a new dawn for the world and that as we welcome His gift of eternal life and come to Him, we enter a new dawn, a fresh start, a new birth.
This year we are focusing on Malachi 4:2: “But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves.”
Andrew begins speaking briefly at 38:30 minutes citing the first two verses of the last chapter of the last book of the Old Testament at Malachi 4 (quotation provides the whole for context, NIV, emphases mine):
“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and that day that is coming will set them on fire,’ says the Lord Almighty. ‘Not a root or a branch will be left to them. 2 But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its rays. And you will go out and frolic like well-fed calves. 3 Then you will trample on the wicked; they will be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day when I act,” says the Lord Almighty.
Thus, the Lord foretells an especially significant time when all evil will be removed from the earth. It will be global, whereas the day He describes to Obadiah specifically relates initially to His dealing with Israel’s enemies, not only in ancient times but also currently :
“The day of the Lord is near for all nations.
As you have done, it will be done to you;
your deeds will return upon your own head.
16 Just as you drank on my holy hill,
so all the nations will drink continually;
they will drink and drink and be as if they had never been.
17 But on Mount Zion will be deliverance;
it will be holy, and Jacob will possess his inheritance.
18 Jacob will be a fire and Joseph a flame;
Esau will be stubble, and they will set him on fire and destroy him.
There will be no survivors from Esau.”
The Lord has spoken.
Jesus confirms that prophecy a few centuries later in His parable of the wheat and tares sown by Him and by satan respectively, as explained at Matthew 13:40-43:
“As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear.”
All this takes us full circle from 16 years ago when sensing the Lord saying, as recounted in my email The Endgame Is Now In Play:
“This is ALL about to be fulfilled”!

While this dream may not fit into the Advent theme it does fit into end times eschatology. The dream is from 2018.
The Temple Mount
I had a dream and subsequent vision that gave additional details. In the dream I saw the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Nothing extraordinary about that, correct? Then I saw 2 olive trees full with ripe olives. Then I saw an angel appear and touch each of the olive trees lighting them both ablaze but, like the burning bush that Moses saw, they too were not consumed.
Reading the book of Revelation in chapter 11 it speaks about the 2 witnesses as 2 olive trees. I took note that in my dream there were only 2 olive trees. The olive trees as the Bush Moses saw were nothing out of the ordinary. However, when set ablaze and not consumed, that attracts attention.
I do believe that we are seeing end time events happen before our eyes and if the 2 olive trees in my dream and subsequent vision are the 2 witnesses, which I believe them to be, spoken of in Revelation then we are also close to the revealing of the antichrist

Good afternoon and Merry Christmas too to you Tony and not only do I see a likely connection between your dream and the Day of the Lord motif, but also recall having read of somebody’s recent vision of two olive trees.

oh, that is interesting. I never thought of the two olive trees on the Temple Mount being the Two Witnesses.

I believe it is not yet fulfilled in those apart from Christ, but is already fulfilled in Christ and Christ in those, who as “sons of light and sons of the Day” (1 Thessalonians 5:4-5) believe what was revealed by Paul, the “mystery” of Christ in us, warning and teaching us to mature in Christ (Colossians 1:25-29); for the “last” (the old so called “Gentiles”) who are born again, baptized into Christ, putting on Christ, no longer “Jew” or “Gentile” but one in Christ (Galatians 3:26-28), are now the “first” as we are born again with the First Born, the First Resurrection of Jesus in the new covenant, but those still of the old covenant, those who were the first (Jews) are now last and will go through the terrible Day of the Lord unless they too become “born again of God, of His Spirit” as written in Romans 9:24-26, “Those whom God has CALLED, not from the Jews only but also from the Gentiles…those who were not My people I call “My people” and her who was not beloved I call “My beloved” for “the called and chosen and faithful to the Risen Lamb of God, the Lord of lords and King of kings” (Revelation 17:14) are called and called “sons of the Living God” (Romans 9:26); those who are of the mature “wise” five virgins who are ready and stay ready, not “fruit” of satan’s vines of the world, destined for wrath (1 Thessalonians 5:9; Revelation 14:14-20) or the terrible tribulation, but “have already passed from death into the Life” in Christ (John 5:24); “delivered from the dominion of darkness AND transferred into Christ” (Colossians 1:13); “kept from the hour of trial coming upon the whole world” (Revelation 3:10).

Gosh wotta-non-stop-sentence! YES indeed and your penultimate scripture Col 1.13 features on the very page of my mother’s Catholic Missal for First Sunday in Advent. Its illustration of Jesus on the clouds amidst sun and moon acted as the seed to His Visitation, a foretaste of His Return.
