From a Canadian perspective, I’m understanding it in the context of what’s currently happening with the gay community and so many in power deliberately trying to destroy the youth with this propaganda. So many would condemn the victims without recognizing we are now in the new covenant times with the Kingdom now upon us, when we are called to be ambassadors of righteousness, not counting men’s sins against them but pleading with them to be reconciled to God.
It’s supposed to be about going into the harvest fields and doing a great work of redemption and a call to repentance, not condemnation. Some of our own children are caught in this impossible dilemma and need rescuing, like the shepherd who left the 99 to go after the one. But there are many self-righteous who believe themselves to be infallible in the eyes of God, whose wealth is their fortress while they’re okay to see children destroyed for the sake of making extreme amounts of wealth, are counted as being in the same position as Bethssaida or Capernaum.
In Luke 10:12 Jesus says it will be more bearable for even Sodom than for a town where the gospel was preached only to be rejected. It’s speaking loudly to me about many even in Israel now rejecting the Messiah and the gospel of truth, but also about the world’s wealthy choosing to write off millions of human beings to reduce the global population, in their delusional self-righteousness. I understand at least one of the billionaires on this submersible attends Davos and is part of the WEF. I believe God is saying He will go after His lambs caught in the gay agenda before He’d rescue someone determined to destroy them. “And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to the skies? No, you will go down to the depths.”

Such a clear word! I have been praying re Jonah and the whale, three days in the belly of the whale, and for us as a world to recognise that riches and every benefit are of no consequence when you defy the Lord. May God save these poor wretches, and may they have had a life-changing experience of the goodness and power of the Lord.
