We now examine a novel topic introduced to me 40 years ago as a non-Christian ‘New Ager’, ie. the profound truth of Bible prophecy before I became ‘born-again, and which takes this blog and myself into our 45th full circle.

I shall outline that in a follow-on post but for now let’s carefully study over the weekend our sister Veronika West’s excellent exposition about how our Lord, whom I regard as ‘ALWAYS NOW’, acts as THE Time Lord. Hence, Time and its operations often features in this blog. (Read many comments on her Ignite Ireland Ministry Facebook.)

MY PROPHETS ARE CALLED TO ACCURATELY DISCERN, DECLARE AND MARK THE TIMES AND SEASONS

So yesterday (Thursday, the 3rd day of September), during my time of Prayer, I literally saw what looked like an Ancient Clock on the inside of me and I could hear a clear and distinct sound of “Ticking!”

By the Spirit of Revelation, I immediately understood that The LORD was speaking to me concerning His Prophetic Voices on the Earth.

But seeing the Clock as ancient, I submit I felt was prophetically significant, and as I looked at this Ancient Clock, I understood that it spoke Prophetically concerning the PAST, the PRESENT and the FUTURE!

The Ancient Clock revealed something deeply significant concerning some of the vital functions and the many spiritual aspects of the Mantle of the Prophet.

The True Prophetic Voice is not only “Called to Speak” concerning what is YET to come, prophets are “Called to Understand and Discern” the Movements and Ways of God through the Ages — what God has Spoken — what He has Established — what He has Promised — and the Covenant Purposes that continue to unfold through Generations.

They must be able to look BACK and recognise the Ancient Paths and Prophetic Patterns of God to discern what God is doing NOW, and to see by the Spirit what lies AHEAD!

PAST — PRESENT — FUTURE!

The Prophet stands Prophetically at the Intersection of all three Times and Seasons — PAST — PRESENT — FUTURE! — discerning what God established in the Past, recognising its Prophetic Pattern and Movement in the Present, and seeing where that same Redemptive and Covenant Purpose is moving towards in the Prophetic Fulfillment for the Future!

These are not three disconnected dimensions of Time — but Time being Intrinsically woven together like a Divine Tapestry.

What God is revealing in the Present, often cannot be accurately discerned without understanding what He Established in the Past!

And what He established in the Past becomes a powerful Prophetic Blueprint — a Divine and Supernatural Pattern — that gives greater understanding and context to what He is doing in the Present — and what He is YET to bring forth in the Future!

This is why throughout Scripture God often calls His People to REMEMBER!

To Remember His Covenant — to Remember His Works — and to Hold fast to His Words.

Jeremiah 6 speaks powerfully to this…

“STAND in the ways and SEE, and ASK for the old paths, where is the good way, and WALK therein,”  Jeremiah 6:16.

There is something deeply significant about returning to the Ancient Paths, because God will often cause what He Established in another Generation, to speak prophetically into the Generation that is standing NOW!

The Prophet is not called to manufacture something new, but to stand within the unfolding Counsel, Covenant Promises and Divine Purposes of The Ancient of Days, discerning where a Generation is Standing and where it is Moving within God’s Prophetic Timeline!

The Ancient Clock spoke of the God who is Eternal — the God Who stands outside of Time, yet Sovereignly works within Time, the God Who declares “the End from the Beginning, and from Ancient times the things that are not YET done!”   See Isaiah 46:10!

The God Who Was… Who Is… and Who is to Come!

But herein, I saw something even deeper concerning the Ancient Clock…

God Doesn’t Only Reveal Times…

God Governs Times and Seasons…!

As Daniel 2 declares…

“And He Changeth the times and the seasons: He Removeth kings, and Setteth up kings,”   Daniel 2:21.

The Ancient Clock therefore does not speak of Time as though Time itself is Sovereign —  ”The Ancient of Days is Sovereign Over Time!”

He is the Eternal God who changes Times and Seasons, Who removes kings and raises up kings, Who establishes Appointed Times — and Who Sovereignly moves His Redemptive and Covenant Purposes through Generations!

The Functions of a Prophet

This is deeply significant concerning some of the functions of the Prophet.

The Prophet is not only Called to Discern what Time it is — but to discern the Movements, the Ways, and the Purposes of The God Who governs Time!

We are not Called to follow the Clock — We are Called to follow the God who governs the Clock!

And when He changes the Times and Seasons, His True Prophets must be in Close Proximity, Close enough to His heart to Discern that a Divine Shift has taken place!

There are Appointed Times when one Season ends and another begins, when God removes and raises up, when He closes and opens, when He uproots and plants, when He brings Nations and Generations across Divine Thresholds, and His Prophets are Called to discern these Divine Movements within His Prophetic Timeline and Declare them with Authority and Revelation that brings Clarity, Direction and Vision!

The Ancient Clock, I saw was therefore like a PROPHETIC TIMELINE within me, not only Marking the passing of Time, but Revealing the Kairos Movements, the Divine Intersections and the Appointed Times of God!

This is why Prophets must KNOW The Word!

The Word

We cannot accurately interpret the Present or speak concerning the Future while remaining ignorant of what God has already Spoken and Established in the Past.

The past reveals Prophetic Patterns.  The present reveals Prophetic Alignments and Positioning, and the future points towards Prophetic Fulfillment and Manifestation…!

Daniel himself gives us a powerful Prophetic Pattern of this, as Daniel stood within one Generation, but through the writings of Jeremiah, he understood what God had spoken in a previous Generation concerning the Seventy Years of Jerusalem’s desolations.  See Daniel 9:2.

Daniel looked BACK at what God had already spoken, and through that Ancient Prophetic Word he understood where his Generation was standing in the PRESENT — and that understanding moved him into Prayer concerning what God was about to bring forth in the FUTURE!

Again — ”PAST — PRESENT — FUTURE!”

The Ancient Word became a Prophetic Marker by which Daniel discerned the Present Time!

Prophets are not only Called to Discern the Times and Seasons — nor are they only Called to Declare the Kairos Timing of Heaven — ”Prophets are Called to Mark Time!”

They must become Living Prophetic Markers on the Earth — their lives — the Words they carry — the Movements they make and the Signs that surround them — bearing Witness to the Kairos Times and Seasons of God, so that when The Nations look for Direction and Strategy, God’s True Prophets must become those Living Prophetic Signposts, able to accurately discern and bear witness to what Time it is — where we are standing within God’s Prophetic Timeline — and what God is requiring in that time!

Because it is not enough to know what Time it is — we must know what to do in the time!

And this is why the Clock was ticking on the INSIDE OF ME!

The Clock was not just something I was looking at, as God brought Insight and Revelation — but it was something that I was Carrying!  Something that had been entrusted to me to steward and to release at the Appointed Time!

The Prophet is not only an Observer of Divine Timing — but a Steward of Diving Timing, and herein I believe lies something deeply significant concerning the Fires of Purification that are constantly burning in the lives of those Called to Prophetic Ministry.

Purity is the Foundation of Power in the Prophetic!

There are Words that must be forged in the Fires of Purification before they can be Released by Faith and in Power.

There are Revelations that must be incubated in The Secret Place before they can be Announced in the public place.

There are things God reveals that are first for Fervent Prayer, before they are for Proclamation and Impartation.

And there is a Warning here!

There are Words that may be absolutely accurate in their Content — but premature in their Release — because the Prophet has discerned WHAT God is saying — but has failed to discern when God is saying to release it!

And a premature Prophetic Release can bring confusion, misalignment, and cause what God intended to be rightly Stewarded in its Appointed Time, to be prematurely exposed, misinterpreted, mishandled and or even completely aborted!

Prophetic Accuracy is not only about the Word…

Prophetic Accuracy demands Purity, Wisdom, and the Discernment of God concerning the Timing of the Word!

The Right Word — still requires the Right Time!

And I believe the KEY to Unlocking the Timing of Heaven is intimacy with God!

True Prophets cannot accurately Mark a Time they have not first discerned in The Secret Place, and neither can they carry the Timing of Heaven without first learning to carry the Hearty of God!

Prophetic Timing is not only learned by carefully discerning the movements of Nations, watching and Praying concerning political events, or being alert to what is unfolding in the Natural.

Many of those things may confirm what Heaven is saying — but they must never become the Clock by which the Prophet sets the Time!

The Prophetic Clock must be set in The Secret Place!

It is in the place of Intimacy that the ear becomes attuned to His Voice — the heart becomes calibrated to His Heartbeat — and the Spirit becomes sensitive to the Movements and Timing of God.

The closer the Prophet comes to the Heart of God, the more clearly they begin to hear the Heartbeat of Heaven.

It’s here where we see a powerful parallel between the Heartbeat and the Clockbeat…

Both carry Rhythm, Movement and Timing, and both must remain in proper Alignment.

True Intimacy Produces Accuracy!

The Prophet who has laid their head upon the Heart of God in The Secret Place begins not only to Recognise His Rhythm, but his or her heart becomes Spiritually tuned and synchronised to His Movements, His Pauses and His Appointed Moments.

They know when Heaven is saying, WAIT!  WATCH!  SPEAK!  And when Heaven is saying, Advance Now!

The closer we draw to His Heart, the more accurately we hear the Ticking of Heaven’s Clock!

The Secret Place is the p[lace of Prophetic Calibration, because a Clock cannot calibrate itself.  It must be set according to an Authoritative Standard.

Similarly, the Prophet cannot be calibrated by another Prophet, the Headlines, the Political Climate, the urgency of the Hour — or the movements taking place in the Natural!

The Prophet must be Calibrated to The Heart and Voice of God!

Warning

But there is also a Warning within this Revelation:  A Clock can still be ticking — and yet be telling the wrong time!

The mechanism can still be moving; the hands can still be turning; and from outward appearances everything can look operational — yet the Clock can be minutes, hours, or even an entire Season out of Time!

I believe this speaks powerfully to the Prophetic Voices in this hour…

There can be Prophetic Movement; Prophetic Activity; Prophetic Platforms, and Prophetic Voices continually speaking, and the hands can appear to be moving — but Movement does not necessarily mean Accurate Time!

The Spirit is bringing a powerful Recalibration to His Prophets in this hour.

There are those who have run ahead of the Timing of God; who have stepped outside of the Kairos Time — and there are those who have fallen behind the Timing of God.

Some have mistaken Urgency for Kairos Timing and Prophetic information for Prophetic Revelation.

Some have mistaken movement in the Natural for permission to Speak, while others have carried Words beyond their Appointed moment or jurisdiction, because of pride, fear or the Opinions of men, or hesitation through a lack of Faith which has caused them to miss the Window of Release.

But God is calling His Prophets back into Divine Alignment and Divine Synchronisation with the Times and Seasons of Heaven, ”Back to The Secret Place — back to His Heart — and back to the place of Divine calibration!”

An Appointed Time

The Question is not only,  “Have we heard the right Word?” but, “Are we carrying the right Word, for the right time — and do we know the Appointed Moment for its release?”

Habakkuk 2 tells us…

“For the vision is yet for an appointed time…”   Habakkuk 2:3.

An Appointed Time!

The Hebrew word “מוֹעֵד” translated “appointed time” is MO’ED — carrying the meaning of an Appointed Time — a Fixed Season — an Appointed Meeting.  (I like to say, ”An Invitation into a Deeper Encounter.”)

And Prophetically, I believe there is something powerful here, ”The Vision has an Appointment!”

There is a Divine Intersection where the Word, the Prophet, and the Appointed Time come together!

There is a Time Appointed to the Vision, a Time Appointed to the Word, and a Time Appointed to its Manifestation!

The Prophet must therefore Steward what has been Revealed until the Clock of Heaven reaches the Appointed Moment, and this is why the Sons of Issachar carried something so significant.

1 Chronicles 12:32 says they had “UNDERSTANDING of the TIMES, TO KNOW what Israel ought TO DO!”

They did not discern Time just for the sake of knowing Time, their Discernment of the Time produced STRATEGY FOR THE TIME!

They understood WHAT TIME IT WAS — and because they UNDERSTOOD the Time — they KNEW WHAT ISRAEL OUGHT TO DO!

And I believe this is part of the Restoration coming to the Prophetic Ministry in this hour…

Not Prophets who only announce what they see coming, but Prophets whose Intimacy with God enables them to accurately discern the Kairos Moment, and whose understanding of that Kairos Moment brings Divine Strategy, Direction and Instruction to the Ecclesia.

While the World watches the Chronological Clock and responds to what is unfolding in the Natural, The Prophet must discern the Kairos Moment of Divine Visitation and Manifestation!

Prophetic Calibration

The Prophetic Voice cannot be calibrated by the clocks of this World, the Urgency of man, the pressure of Circumstances, the demands of Platforms, or by what appears to be unfolding in the Natural realm.

The Prophet must be calibrated by heaven alone!

And I hear The Spirit saying again, “My Prophets must accurately Discern, Declare and Mark the Times and Seasons in this hour of Divine Transition and Kingdom Reformation!”

Prophets are Called…

• to Discern the Time, to Declare the Time, to Mark the Time and to Know how to Steward the Time…
• to become Living Prophetic Markers of the Kairos Times and Seasons of God on the Earth…

So that, when The Nations look towards God’s True Prophetic Voices for Divine Perspective,

• they begin to understand what Time it is…
• where they are standing within God’s Prophetic Timeline…
• and what God is requiring in that Time!

Because, Prophetic Discernment of the Time must ultimately produce Divine Strategy for the Time!

God is raising up Prophetic Voices:

• who will know what time it is…
• what Heaven is saying…
• and what must be done in that Time, for Kingdom Advancement!

Because God doesn’t only Reveal Times —

God Governs Times and Seasons!

And those who are Called to Mark the Times, must remain Intimately Aligned, Synchronised and Calibrated to The Heart of the God — Who governs over the Past, Present and Over All of Eternity!
