On the Role and Responsibility of Prophets – Veronika West

A WORD CONCERNING THE PROPHETS

It’s time!

We must understand that the primary role of Prophets is not to predict outcomes — but rather The Will, Intention and Heart of God in a matter!

The role of Prophets has been pigeon-holed into some type of “new-age soothsayer” or psychic, which has caused horrific damage to The Body and to the credibility of true Prophetic Ministry!

The Prophets’ role in The Body is to bring Vision, Revelation and Understanding of The Heart of God and of the Times and Seasons.

Outcomes are determined by the obedience of the people to God’s Will and to His Instructions.

We must stop looking to Prophets as “fortunetellers” who must predict outcomes, when Prophets are called to Proclaim the Will and Intention of The Father’s Heart!

If ….. My People will humble themselves and pray… and turn from their wicked way… I will heal their land! (2 Chronicles 7:14)

Obedience determines outcomes — not Prophets!

True Prophets bring forth Divine Alignment through revelation of God’s Will.

The true test of a Prophet is not necessarily how accurately they can predict future events, but rather how boldly and faithfully they speak God’s Truth and call people to the place of True Repentance and Obedience!

And — it is time for the Prophets to begin to resist the pressure to perform, because it makes them popular, it massages their egos, and it elevates them above others.

Prophets must guard against becoming puppets on the strings of those that have an addiction to prediction — and no intimacy with God.

Prophets must stop pimping their Prophetic Words to the highest bidders, and start seeking after purity of heart, and take positions of humility and total submission to God above all else!

True Prophetic Voices will bring forth pure Prophetic Words that are not contaminated with the works of the flesh, which brings death in the pot.

True Prophets have broken and contrite hearts and do not seek fame, name or claim.

They are not tempted to dance to the tune of the popular vote, or the pressure of men.

True Prophets know that the power they have been entrusted with is not for sale and cannot be bought — at any price!

It is time for The Body of Christ to truly recognize and honor the purpose and function of Prophets, and to seek God’s Will and Direction above all else.

Let us turn our hearts toward God, listen to His Voice through His Prophets — and walk in Obedience and Faith.

Blessings to you all.

  1. Richard do you recall my posting from 2017?

    The Call of a Prophet

In the times we live in and with so many claiming to be prophets or having a word from the Lord. I came across this blog entry and decided to re-blog it. I by no means want to minimize nor marginalize the genuine prophetic. What I hope to accomplish by re-posting this blog is to make people take words  supposedly from the Lord to Him for confirmation no matter who the prophet or person is that had a word from God posted on their blog or one that they may hear elsewhere. Some prophecies that I have seen lately have scripture mixed with venom from people who have been wounded and allowed the wound to fester and the word they post, while using scripture, is full of venom and so the word that they post becomes more their word than the Lords.

    He Has You

The nearer we get to the end of the age, the greater the outpouring of the Holy Spirit there will be. “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams, Your young men shall see visions” (Joel 2:28).

We need to teach people to prophesy rightly, or to not prophesy at all. The outpouring will come, but will we be ready? The words below came during a prayer session recently, and I added the verses as foundation afterwards. I am hoping to do one blog on each of the five-fold ministries.

Prophesying has little to do with telling the future, and more to do with exposing the present.

A prophet must rely upon the resources of God, or sit down.

A prophet should not seek a prophecy for themselves.

  2. And this one from 2017 as well
I had a dream where i was standing in the back of I’m guessing was a church. I saw at the pulpit an individual introducing a figure who was supposed to be Jesus but wasn’t. I saw the words, “false prophet”, written across the forhead of the man standing at the pulpit. Remember that this was my observation from the back og the building. Then I was standing behind the false prophet and was shown those seated in the pews. What I saw was people who looked as though they’d been hypnotized or under a trance.

The Word says that the elect cannot be deceived.

    Matthew 24:24
For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

The elect, as I read it, are those who remain faithful to the end.

    Mat 24:11 — Mat 24:13
Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. But he wokho endures to the end shall be saved.

Deception is a scarry place to be being that one who is deceived doesnt realize it even though one shows him/her through the word that they are in error. Prayer is the only thing that can break this.

As to why I was shown this and not the people seated is because the Lord opened my eyes and not because I’m anything special.

In these last days it would be foolish to rely on any anointing and/or gifting one thinks that they may have and not on the Lord.

The scripture passage from Matthew i quote above follows an extremely important passage that I will post below

    Matthew 24:10
And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another.

    Notice the steps.

    Offense

An offense not dealt with festers and then beyrayal and hatred follow it is afterwards, in verse 11 that it says them false prophets will arise and deceive many. Offence unforgiven makes one vulnerable to heading the words of the false prophet (s). Remember what Jesus said about forgiveness. If you want to be forgiven you must forgive.

In the dream I heard, “warn My people”, which is the reason for the post.

As with any dream and/or vision I post on this blog I encourage you to take this to the Lord in prayer and see what He shows you.
