The upshot was our receiving a phone call at 9 am from a very puzzled civil servant because, as he said, they have no way of cancelling these allowances as they are ‘life-time’ and thus set for the remainder a recipient’s natural life. But Nina insisted she cannot continue receiving them as it would dis-honour what God’s done for her! SO, they did find a way to stop hers…
