“And there will be famines, pestilences and earthquakes in various places and there will be fearful sights and great signs from heaven ; All these are the beginnings of sorrows….” (Matt 24:7) Thus, Jesus isn’t prophesying a major earthquake but significant ones in many places, but with possible inference of proximity in time, that is within a certain period of time.
