Thank you to Tembisa for this link, which reinforces Steve Hill’s warning of a spiritual avalanche. It is an excellent analysis of a better approach to unhelpful, even dangerous, attitudes which could promote a false Gospel. Also, Hilary White’s linked article provides some keen insights into the Steve Chalke issue. More about this subject may be found in Gillan Scott’s solid review, Unconditional: Rescuing the Gospel from gays vs. Christians Debate. There are extensive comments on this and to his related posts, in which I’ve participated lately. I have, however, one ‘off-side’ reservation. It is recommended by Prof.Tony Campolo, whom I saw many years ago. In reading his Conversation about politics at the time of the last US elections, I was concerned over his using Ephesians 1:18-22 to stress God’s action through earthly politics whereas the verses are about powers in heavenly realms. I trust our professor will acknowledge the King’s soon return to rule on earth?
Richard, several things came to mind with your re-blog of the avalanche post yesterday. First it was new snow that was falling. New snow supposedly is fresh clean and pure and untainted. the snow in this person’s dream was following lightly indicating that the deception was happening a little at a time. This deception must be hit head on by Christians as false.. But we all must realize that we will be the bad guys because what is falling is pure and white so what is wrong with that?

Richard, are you familiar with a growing movement called “chrislam”? It is a blend of Christianity and Islam.

Yes and, altho’ not examined in great depth, it appears to be another opening for apostasy. Pls don’t misconstrue, I’m never against good interfaith dialogue and discussion as well as close friendships between faiths. Joint worship, however, is invalid and deceptive because our gods are not identical, ie. not the same god of Abraham, as many suppose.

Thanks, and interesting to hear after having skim-read papers! Also, this week’s revelation of CIA chief’s secret Muslim membership supports many investigators’ deep concerns over Muslim infiltration and changes in USA security issues. It will be most interesting to follow Walid Shoebat on this (http://shoebat.com/) Also, here’s Robert Spencer’s comments upon, with link to, the fuller original Daily Mail report, as well as to his in-depth article of 7th Feb > http://www.jihadwatch.org/2013/02/former-fbi-agent-says-john-brennan-converted-to-islam-in-saudi-arabia-in-the-1990s.html

This is really interesting and helpful and will study ACW book. In particular I notice it includes the bit I found hard to swallow in the Koran: the creation of Adam and satan’s (Iblis) disobedience (p78). Therein, the Lord commands the angelic host to bow down to Adam, which is at variance to the angelic reaction to John’s attempt to worship him (Rev 19.10). Also, its many references to correcting the beliefs of Biblical characters is so similar to that of a definitely mediumistic work, A Course in Miracles. (Jesus supposedly ridiculing his disciples’ lack of ability and understanding!) Hence my reservations upon the source and content of the Muslim book.
Also in this matter, I’m aware of the splendid work of Canon Andrew White in the Middle East (see ‘Iraq’ tag).
Thank you so much for this valuable information Tony.
